Mobley

Sandra Lee Mobley, 50, of Daisetta, died Monday February 20, 2011 at her residence.

Sandra was born February 19, 1961 in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents Edward Mobley and Erma Fregia Mobley. She was a homemaker and had lived in Daisetta most of her life.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents: Edward David Mobley and Erma Lee Fregia Mobley.

Survivors are Fiance John Compston Jr. of Daisetta, Step Father: John Roy Mobley of Daisetta, Sons: Derrick Reese and Fiance Cathy of Anahuac, Bobby McDaniel of Anahuac and Cory McDaniel of Anahuac. Brothers: Mike Mobley and wife Yvette of El Campo Texas, Edward Bryan Mobley and wife Evelyn Joyce of Rye, and Jessie Mobley and wife Renee of Semmes Alabama. Sister: Debra Fregia and husband Lynn of Daisetta. Grandchildren Jacob Roy Mobley, Tyler Craig Mobley, and Tyler Isaiah Bickett.

A service of remembrance will be held Friday February 25, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. with Reverend Lamar Shane officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday February 24, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family. Pallbearers are Louis Fregia, Clint Baucum, Herb Morgan, Eric Morgan, Robert Fatherree and Joseph Alex. Honorary

Pallbearers are her three grandsons Jacob Roy Mobley, Tyler Craig Mobley, and Tyler Isaiah Bickett.

Hargraves

Dalton Hargraves, 68, a Liberty native and League City resident, died surrounded by his family on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011.

Born in Liberty on June 13, 1942, to Henry Hargraves and Nora Carrell Hargraves, Dalton spent his childhood in Liberty where he later became a police officer and then chief of police in nearby Cleveland in the 1970s and Crystal Beach in the 1980s. Law enforcement remained his lifelong passion, whether working directly for the police departments, in corporate security or at his own private investigation company in both Beaumont and League City. His happiest times usually were spent outdoors -- fishing the salt waters of the Gulf Coast and hunting deer in west Texas. He will be remembered for his love of life, and for his love of family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Linda Tuck of League City; four children, Allison Hargraves of The Woodlands, Jason Hargraves of Washington, D.C., Devon Hargraves of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Kevin Tuck of League City; grandson Justin Montanari of The Woodlands; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Eddie Hargraves of Baytown, and Raymond Hargraves of Liberty.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of MD Anderson Cancer Center where he received care during his final days. Friends are invited to visitation services Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd. in Webster. His funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at Crowder with burial following at Forest Park East cemetery in League City. The Rev. Len Shoemaker will officiate. In lieu of other remembrances, memorial gifts may be made in Dalton's name to Independence Village, 905 Highway 3 South, Texas City, Texas, 77591.

Dugas

Eunice Gwendola Otter Dugas, 91, of Anahuac, died on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at San Jacinto Methodist Rehab in Baytown.

She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at First Baptist Curch of Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Eunice's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.

Eunice was a native of Anahuac. She was preceded death by her husband, Andrew Roy Lee Dugas; and three brothers, Roy Otter, Louis Otter, and Marvin Otter.

Eunice is survived by her daughter, Ruby Linda Kihn and husband, Richard of Anahuac; grandson, Ryan Kihn and wife Marta of New York City; sister-in-law, Elenora Otter of Waco; and a host of other family and friends.

Nelson

Henry Eugene ‘Gene’ Nelson, 63, of Dayton, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at his residence.

He was born in Livingston, Texas to parents William Dewey Nelson and Ruby Mae Templeton Nelson. He has lived 29 years in the Dayton area. He retired from Austin Industrial and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Gene enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Services for Gene Nelson will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park cemetery, Dayton. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, son Troy Nelson, and brothers; Sam and Autry Nelson. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Juanita Nelson of Dayton. Daughters: Carol LaFrance and husband Bill of Dayton; Julie Nelson of Dayton. Grandchildren: Nikki Juarez, Amber LaFrance, and Troy Nelson; Great grandson: Kole Matthew Juarez; also, numerous other relatives and friends.

Duff

James Doyle Duff age 54, died, February 20, 2011 at his home with his beloved family by his side.

James was born in Liberty August 15, 1956 the son of James B. Duff Jr. and Mary Myrick. As a young man James was an avid surfer. He enjoyed tending to his garden and yard work and loved to spend time with his family. After high school James joined the US Army, upon discharge he went into construction as an Instrument Fitter.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife Cyndy Newton Duff of Old River-Winfree, his three children, John W. Duff Sr. wife Tawni, James Zackry Duff wife Lauren, and a daughter Apryl Renee Duff. His mother Mary Bittner husband Elmer, father James Duff Jr wife Elleta, sister Peggy Vasquez husband Joe, and a brother Timothy Paul Duff wife Veronica. In addition he leaves his five grandchildren, Tyler Lane Duff, Jacetan Lee Duff, John W. Duff Jr., Aaron Dale Duff and Andrea “Andee” Renee Duff.

Visitation for James will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 10AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Palms Memorial Park.

Smith

Trubie Samuel Smith, age 97, died, Friday, February 18, 2011 in Sulpher Spings, Texas.

Trubie was born May 31, 1913 in Pineland, Texas the son of the late Dave Smith and Ellen Whitehead Smith. Over the span of sixty-five years Trubie barbered in Liberty, retiring fourteen years ago. He enjoyed people, playing dominoes, and spending time on his farm. He was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Liberty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Josephine Smith who passed in 1998, a granddaughter Cynthia Long who passed in 2010 as well as three brothers and three sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Cecille Long of Nome, sons Trubie S. Smith Jr and wife Dianna of Vidor, Ben A. Smith of Liberty, and Dan Smith and wife Linda of Sulpher Springs. In addition he leaves seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition he leaves seven grandchildren, Kristin Smith and Husband Steven, Jennifer Janecek husband Gary, Katie Williams husband Clifton, Jay Long Jr., Sharon Smith and fiancée Christopher Hernandez, Marissa Smith, and Jonathan Martinez, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. Burial to immediately follow in Cooke Memorial cemetery.

Bagwell

Royal J. (R.J.) Bagwell, 85 of Daisetta, died on Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Baytown, TX.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, February 19 from 4-7 P.M. at Allison Funeral Services, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. Funeral services will be on Sunday, February 20, at 11A.M. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Guedry cemetery.

R.J. was born in Dimmitt, TX on September 19, 1925 to parents, Mitchell Hughes Bagwell and Martha Caroline Howell Bagwell. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was an active member of the Nolan D. Pickett Post VFW in Liberty. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and carpentry work. R.J. was retired from the City of Liberty where he served as the City Building Official.

R.J. was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and nine brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Deede Bagwell; two sons: Michael Royal Bagwell and wife Sheryl, and Richard Timothy Bagwell and wife Pat; two daughters, Patty Wadenpfuhl and husband, Sonny, and Tammy Kathleen Bagwell. In addition he leaves eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family has requested donations to the Nolan D. Pickett Post # 5621 in lieu of flowers.

DeBlanc

Funeral Services for Margaret Ann Senegal-DeBlanc, 61, of Ames, Texas, will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 P.M., at Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Liberty, the Rev. A. K. Thomas, Pastor, officiating, with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Service, Liberty.

Born July 29, 1949 in Rayne Louisiana, Margaret Ann attended Acadia Parish Training School before moving to Texas in 1966. She was a member of St. Miles Baptist Church where she served faithfully as an usher under the leadership of Rev. J. P. Walker. She later joined Turkey Creek Baptist Church where she continued to serve as an usher under the leadership of the Late Pastor Paul Cross. She remained faithful as an usher until her illness at Turkey Creek under the leadership of Pastor A. K. Thomas.

To cherish her memory Margaret Ann leaves two daughters: Donna Wilson of Moore, Oklahoma and Vanessa Simmons of Dayton, Texas; one son Bryan Senegal, Sr. of Liberty, one step-son Landry Valant of Liberty; five sisters: Beulah Spencer of Houston, Edna Lee Semien of Ames, Nettie Smith, Paula Wheeler and Mary Keel all of Rayne, Louisiana; four brothers: Buster Senegal of Crowley Louisiana, Carl James Senegal of Austin, Terry Paul Senegal of Rayne, Louisiana, and Randy Senegal of Branch, Louisiana; one aunt: Ida Jackson of Ames, one great-aunt Rosie Jackson-Munks of Houston; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; seven step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

Braxton

Lawrence Braxton, 66, of Liberty, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.

Mr. Braxton was born on July 26, 1944, in Liberty, Texas to parents, Chester Braxton and Annie Lee Davis Braxton. Lawrence was a pipefitter for Brown & Root. He was a very generous, helpful and kind man. He was a super dancer and a member of the local “Temptations”. He studied his Bible and knew his scriptures. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Chester Braxton Jr., Milton Cook, and Fregolia Bradley, one sister, Nellyne Jones.

He is survived by One daughter, Trecelia Braxton-Willis, four sons, Jason Cameron Braxton, Lawrence Semien, Herman O’Neal Semien, and Michael Semien, two brothers, Roger Braxton Sr. and wife Martha, Marcella Braxton and wife Bertha, three sisters, Rosalyn Braxton-Medlow and husband Leary, Carol Arceneaux and Audrey Lane and husband Osie, Seven grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011, from 9am until 11am, at Allison Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral Services will be follow at 11am in the Allison Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend David LeFleur officiating. Burial will be in Wells cemetery following the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service.

Vyoral

Frances Vyoral Jolly died on February 14, 2011 at the age of 90.

She was born November 20, 1920 to Frank and Julia Vyoral in Waller County. She moved to Dayton, in the Eastgate area, with her family when she was a small child and has lived in the Dayton area ever since. Frances worked for 45 years at Frank’s Café in Dayton and helped her sister with the management of the restaurant. She will be remembered as the friendly and smiling cashier at Frank’s. Frances was a hard worker, clean and organized, enjoyed sewing, and was devoted to her family and friends. She gave of herself unselfishly, and wanted to give rather than receive.

She is survived by her daughter and husband, Laura and Frank Pavlat of Humble, Texas and her four grandchildren: Julie and Scott Sech of Asheville NC, Randy Pavlat, Summer and Chris McKee, and Sam and Denise Pavlat of Humble, Texas. She is also survived by her 6 great grand children: Justin and Jarrett Sech, Luke Pavlat, Chloe and Hudson McKee, and Scott Pavlat and by her 4 step great grand children: Parker and Logan McKee and Morgan and Trent Davis and two sister-in-laws Louise Vyoral and Ruby Vyoral. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers: Frank Mynar, Henry Vyoral and Louis Vyoral. Her sisters: Josephine Vyoral, Hattie Van Zandt, and Vlasta Gajdosik.

Frances, also know as Mimi to her grandchildren, was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally. She lived her life in a way that set a shining example of how to live life by loving God and family and always treating others by the golden rule.

Her family will receive friends at Sterling Funeral Home of Dayton on Friday, February 18, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. followed by a rosary. A funeral mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Dayton.

May

Kelli Mishel White May, 39, of Huffman, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 after a brave fight with cancer.

She was born March 21, 1971 in Houston, Texas to parents, James Hobson White and Gladys Sue Due White. She was previously of Houston where she attended North Shore High School graduating in 1989. She worked for Wesco Distributions and was a member of Praise Tabernacle of Dayton. Kelli also enjoyed shopping and loved being with her family, especially at the beach.

Services for Kelli will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park cemetery, Dayton. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.

Kelli was preceded in death by her grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. M. W. Due and Mr. & Mrs. Hobb White. She is survived by her husband Jeff May of Huffman; her daughter: Kayla Mishel May of Huffman; her parents: James and Sue White of Dayton; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jack and Sharon May of Crosby; her sister: Kim Dunavant and husband Matt of Dayton; sister-in-law: Leann Hackett and husband Rollon of Huffman; her brother: Jason White and Joann Turner of Dayton; her brother-in-law: Scott May of Huffman; nephews: Chace, Joshua, Justin, Jay, Wilder, Matthew, and Keegan; nieces, Rheagyn & Kamryn; also numerous other relatives and friends.

Shipman

Ann E. Shipman, 87, of Dayton, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011.

She was born on March 9, 1923 in Builthwells, Wales. She was very easy going with a quiet demeanor. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed Knitting, working puzzles and painting. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Frank Shipman; parents, Alf and Clara Williams.

She is survived by her children, Stewart Shipman and wife Linda of Liberty, Dennis Shipman and wife Sherry of Hardin, Barbara Parker and husband Sam of Woodville, Tim Shipman of Dayton; grandchildren, Jolynn Carrol and husband Terry, Brandon Shipman, Brady Shipman, Garth Parker and wife Tiffany, Rhett Parker, Marla Reed and husband James, Charles Burwick and wife Holley; great grandchildren, Haley Carrol and Tyler Carrol, Brent Shipman and Breanna Shipman, Matthew Shipman, Bleize Parker and Slade Parker, Zachary Reed; sister, Nora Parker and husband Rob.

Her family will receive friends at Sterling Funeral Home of Dayton on Friday February 18, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday February 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Sterling Funeral Home of Dayton, officiated by Mike Blackburn. Burial will follow at Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie, Texas.

Bexley

Ima L. Stephens Bexley, 87, of Dayton, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in Liberty after an extended illness.

She was born February 13, 1924 in Nacogdoches, Texas, to parents John Allen and Mina Boyett Stephens. She attended schools in Nacogdoches, moved to Houston where she worked for Hughes Tool Company for thirty six and a half years and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She had lived in Dayton since 1995 where she was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Services for Mrs. Bexley will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Hill officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m., Saturday at Sunset Memorial cemetery in Nacogdoches. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bexley was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and her husband, Robert Kenneth Bexley. She is survived by her son: Steve Bexley of Dayton; her daughter-in-law: Mary Bexley of Dayton; her grandchildren: Sherry Zimmerman and husband David of North Carolina, Catherine Collie and husband Larry of Dallas, Stephen Bexley of Liberty, and Jonathan “J.D.” Bexley of Dayton; also numerous other relatives and friends.
