Roberts

Charles Anthony Roberts, Sr., age 49, died suddenly Friday, December 10, 2010 in Katy, Texas.

Charles was born in Beaumont, Texas March 20, 1961 the son of the late August Roberts Jr. and Mary Lucille Biagus Roberts. He was self employed, owning and operating C & S Land Clearing. He was a jack of all trades and loved the cowboy life.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother August Roberts III and a sister Stella Mae Avery.

He leaves his wife Sonya Marie Roberts of Liberty, sons; Charles A. Roberts Jr. of Wallis, Marvin Parker of Katy, Anthony Brooks of Dayton, Wendell Hubert III of Liberty, daughters; Cheyelonda Roberts of San Diego, CA, Jessica and Lakisha Johnson of Houston, Rachael Hood of Houston, Kimberly Anderson husband Chris of Sealy, and Monica Roberts of Wallis, God parents, Linda Julius of Beaumont and Erma Dixon of Fulshear, Sisters; Gloria Russell husband Terry of Houston, Elizabeth Roberts of Brookshire, Bernadine Hintz and husband Nolan of Katy, Rachael Palmer of Bellville, brothers; Joseph Roberts wife Denise of Brookshire, Donald Roberts of Huntsville, Tommy L. Palmer of Sealy, Anthony Palmer of Bellville, David Haskins of California, James Mobley of Houston, and Jason Avery of Pearland, Aunt; Mary L. West of Beaumont and an uncle Butch Roberts of Beaumont. In addition he leaves seventeen grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be celebrated 1PM Friday, December 17, 2010 at Allison Funeral Service with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow the service in Mt. Zion cemetery in Moss Bluff.

Brown

Wilma “Baby Jean” Brown, age seventy-eight, of Liberty, Texas died on December 9, 2010.

She leaves to cherish her memories; a loving and devoted husband of sixty-two years Link Brown Sr., her mother, Lola Martin; her daughters; Lola Herman, Pearlie Brown; Gloria Pickens, Wilma Elaine Moore husband David, Connie Webb husband Lonnie, and Tracy Brown, step-daughter Gloria Coleman, her sons; Larry wife Marie, Link Jr. wife Cynthia, and Thaddeus Brown. In addition she leaves twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Wilma will be held 11AM Thursday, December 16, 2010, at MT. Rose Baptist Church, 808 Washington Ave., Liberty, Texas with the Reverend L.C. Speights to officiate.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9AM to 11 AM at the Church. Burial to follow the service in Wells cemetery.

Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Cavalier

Cade Cameron Cavalier, 18, of Liberty, died on Saturday, December 11, 2010.

He was a Christian. He enjoyed music and playing his video games. Recently he took up an interest in physical fitness. He aspired to be a filmmaker. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Eugene Verdon and E. J. Cavalier, Jr.

He is survived by his parents E. J. and Cindy Cavalier; brothers, Jay Cavalier and Samuel Cavalier; grandmother, GayDell Childress; nephews, Kyle Joseph Cavalier (Joey) and Ernest Joseph Cavalier, V (Quint); niece, Summer Cavalier; and numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday December 17, 2010 at Fairlawn cemetery, officiated by Pastor Ed Maloof. Honorary pallbearers are Jay Cavalier and Samuel Cavalier.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, Texas, 77575, (936) 336-6418.

Huelsebusch

Lawrence Michael Huelsebusch was born September 3, 1946 in Galveston, TX, and died on December 7, 2010 in Humble, TX.

Michael graduated from Liberty High School where he played football and earned a degree in civil engineering from Lamar University. Michael was a longtime resident and business man in Humble, TX where he had many friends and associates. He was a devoted son, a loving father, and his grandchildren were the light of his life.

Michael was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Lynn Huelsebusch, grandparents Harry and Elise Huelsebusch and Joe and Audie Lowery.

Survived by parents Lawrence and Willie Jo Huelsebusch of Liberty, son Joseph Lynn and wife Misty Huelsebusch, granddaughter Amelia and grandson Rice, all of Humble. Michael will be deeply missed by his cuz, family, many close friends and associates.

A memorial service will be held 2PM Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. With inurnment to follow in Fairlawn cemetery.

Piatt

Michael Stephen Piatt, 26, died Sunday morning, December 12, 2010 in Houston.

Michael was born July 11, 1984 in Baytown, Texas to parents, Randy and Judy Piatt. He and his wife Brooke have been married for 4 ½ years and have been blessed with their 3 ½ month old son Titus. He attended Dayton schools graduating from Dayton High in 2002 continuing his education at Stephen F. Austin where he received a BA in speech communication and a minor in history. Michael then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary preparing to become a worship pastor. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Dayton where he actively participated in the praise band and many other phases of worship. Michael enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, skiing, and sports. He had a great love for family, friends, and music, but most importantly, he had a deep passion for his savior Jesus Christ.

Services for Michael will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Dayton with Rev. Chris Trousdale officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood cemetery in Humble under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at First Baptist Church, 202 East Houston, Dayton, when the family will receive friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carson V. “Paw-Paw” Howell and Joseph “Grandpa” Spellman; and his father-in-law, John “Papa John” Spellman. He is survived by his loving wife, Brooke A. Piatt of Dayton; his son, Titus Michael Piatt of Dayton; his parents, Randy and Judy Piatt of Baytown, his sister, Heather Abshire and husband Mike and their children Paige, Carson and Jonah of Dayton; his mother-in-law, Janet “Mama J” Spellman of Dayton; brother-in-law, Ched E. Spellman and wife Leigh and their children, Hope and Kate on the way of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Aaron Walters and husband Justin and their son Levi of Dayton; grandparents, Thelma “Maw-Maw” Howell of Baytown, Harold “Grandpa” and Verba “Grandma” Piatt of Oklahoma, Merle “PaPa” and Linda “MaMa” Aaron of Humble, Willene “Grandma” Spellman of Bullard, also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made M. D. Anderson Cancer Center for Brain Cancer Research.

Clark

Warren G. Clark Jr., 68, of Anahuac, died on Tuesday, December 07, 2010 at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Warren was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 9th at First Baptist Church of Anahuac under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:30 to 1:30 PM at the church.

Warren was born on July 13, 1942 in Beaumont, TX. to the late Warren and Ruby Clark Sr. Warren was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Carl Brown and granddaughters, Makenzie, Makaela, and Makenna Clark. Warren was a man after God’s own heart. He was a lay minister and taught the Unity Bible Study in many area churches and was a missionary to the Ukraine and Africa.

Warren was a graduate of Liberty High School in 1960 and Lamar University class of 1965 where he played football. Warren graduated Baylor School of Law in 1968. He was an attorney with Prevost Umphrey Law Firm for many years. Warren was a member of First Baptist Church of Anahuac where he served as a Deacon.

Warren is survived by his wife Cynthia Clark of Anahuac; daughter, Misti Clark of Hankamer; son, Trey Clark and wife Laura of Orange; brother, Champ Clark of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Trey Traylor, Kadi Smith, Emmalee Melancon, Quade Clark and Hayden Clark; mother-in-law Bernice Brown of Beaumont; sister-in-law Joanne Ferrell and husband, Guy of Silsbee; sister-in-law, Kathy Leonard and husband, Lynn of Katy; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tod Lawther, Jake Lawther, Luke Leonard, Carl Wayne Ferrell, Nathan Ferrell, Chad Clark, Trey Traylor, and Quade Clark; honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church of Anahuac.

Trahan

Howard Joseph Trahan, Jr., age 62, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, with his loving family by his side.

Howard was born April 24, 1948 in Houston, the son of the late Howard J. Trahan Sr. and Mary Vargas Trahan. Howard was raised in Raywood, Texas by his grandparents and moved to Beaumont in 1971. He served on the Beaumont ISD School Board for twenty-one years and as president seven times. A Lamar Graduate he received a degree in accounting, he retired from Gulf State Utilities after twenty years of service. He also worked for Jefferson County Sheriff Department as a deputy for five years. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Knight of the St. Peter Claver, NAACP Beaumont Chapter as treasurer, a little league coach, and a devoted member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, where he served on numerous committees and boards. He loved to read and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a brother Wesley Trahan and a sister Katherine Trahan.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-two years, Loyce Fontenot Trahan of Beaumont, sons Howard J. “Peanut” Trahan III and wife Whitney of Nederland, Christopher Trahan Sr. of Beaumont, and Dane Trahan of Beaumont, sister Shirley Mims husband Robert of Houston, five grandchildren, Joseph, Jakob, Jeshua, Christopher Trahan Jr. and H.J. Trahan IV, one step-grandson Cole Mazdra, and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 8:30AM to 10:30AM at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, 3390 Sarah St. Beaumont, TX with a rosary service to be held at 10:30AM, funeral mass to be celebrated at 11:00AM with burial to follow in Sacred Heart cemetery, Raywood, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Howard’s memory to the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, PO Box 4486 Houston, Texas 77210.

Doolittle

Bud Doolittle, Jr., 75, of Dayton, died on Saturday, December 4th at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Bud was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Palms Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Marian Doolittle, daughter, Brenna Doolittle and nephew, Brian Barkley. Bud was a truck driver for many years. He loved Motorcycles, Air Planes, and Trucks.

Bud is survived by his wife of 28 years, Becky Doolittle; daughters, Ronda Woodard, Debbie Banes and Shawn Doolittle; sons, James Scott, James Russell Cline and John Winston Cline; sisters, Bobbie Lunday and husband Kenneth, Patricia Jones, and Sherry Barkley; brother, Jimmy Doolittle; seventeen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Thomas

Jeremy Taylor Thomas, 15, of Hardin, died Saturday December 4, 2010 at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.

Jeremy was born in Baytown, Texas on September 28, 1995. He had lived in Hardin most of his life.and was a student at Hardin High School, and member of Hardin United Methodist Church.

He is Survived by his father Paul Thomas of Anahuac and mother:Tammy Manuel Thomas of Hardin. Brother Jaret Paul Thomas of Hardin, Grandmothers:Judy Compton of Hardin and Shirley Ann Thomas of Anahuac.Great Grandparents:Velma Desormeaux and husband Francis of Anahuac.Aunts: Georgene Grounds of Corsicana, Linda Granger of Anahuac, Lisa Ruddick and husband Kenneth of LaPorte, Sheri Vest of Highlands, Misty Abalos of Winnie and Michelle Vaughn and husband Millard of Hemphill, Nicki Vest and Makayla of Highlands and Angie Finney and husband Michael of Alabama.Uncles: Wayne Manuel and wife Chris of Oregon, Randy Thomas and Julie Barrow of Anahuac, Vance Thomas and wife Melissa of Anahuac, Danny Thomas and wife Tami of Anahuac and Steve Thomas of Houston and many cousins and friends.

Service of remembrace will be held Wednesday December 8, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at The Hardin United Methodist Church with Reverend Gideon Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Hardin cemetery, the family will be receiving friends on Tuesday December 7, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Hardin Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Tolar

James Charlie Tolar, 86, of Daisetta, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 in Pasadena.

He was born February 14, 1924 in Corrigan, Texas to parents Robert McGee Tolar and Minnie Lea Armstrong. He graduated in 1947 from Plummerville High School and was a long time resident of Corrigan before moving to Daisetta. He served during World War II in the United States Army, worked for many years as a log yard supervisor for Champion Paper, was a member of Central Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and the VFW.

Services for Mr. Tolar will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jerimey Flowers, Jim Tolar, Devyn Hill, Dennis Hill, Everitt Hill, LeRoy Cartwright, Joe Risenhoover, and Ronnie Risenhoover. Honorary pallbearers are Seth Hill, Kasidy Hill, Hannah Flowers, Kayden Flowers, Layla Tolar and Harley Tolar.

Mr. Tolar was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Ruby Katherine Flowers, and his son-in-law Melvin Flowers. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Tolar of Daisetta; daughters, Betty Flowers of Daisetta, and Barbara Flowers and husband Richard of Hull; son, James Tolar and wife Charlotte of Lonsdale, Arkansas; grandchildren, Deana Flowers of Daisetta, Melinda Hill and husband Everitt of Hull, Amanda Flowers of Hull, Jerimey Flowers of Hull, Jim Tolar and wife Amanda of Lonsdale, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Devyn Hill, Dennis Hill, Seth Hill, Kasidy Hill, Hannah Flowers, Kayden Flowers, Layla Tolar, and Harley Tolar; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Fulkerson

Dennis Keith Fulkerson, 69, of Dayton, past away on Monday, December 6, 2010. He was an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed wood carving and gardening. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He was also a member of the Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge #321.

He is preceded in death by his parents Horace and Opal Fulkerson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Pat Fulkerson; children, Denice Vincent and husband Mike, Barbara Zorn and husband Russell, Angie Reddell and husband Doug; grandchildren, Weston Vincent, Travis Vincent, Tim Evers, Jennifer Davis, Courtney Reddell, Brianna Reddell; great grandchildren, Leah Davis, Hunter Perry; brother, Kent Fulkerson..

His family will receive friends at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, on Wednesday December 8, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Thursday December 9, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Sterling Funeral Home of Dayton. Burial will follow at Magnolia cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Timothy Evers, Russell Zorn, Mike Vincent, Travis Vincent, Weston Vincent and Doug Reddell. Honorary pallbearers are Rufus Larken, B.J. Clark and Randy Stepchinski.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main, Daytown, TX, 77535.

Groce

Edgar Jerrell “Bubba” Groce was born on August 2, 1936, and went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2010 around 5:00 p.m. in his home in Cleveland, TX.

He was an entrepreneur who began a career in landscaping in the 1960’s. He attended Sam Houston State University, and later became a Certified Landscape Architect. He started his greenhouse manufacturing company, Rounhouse Corporation, in 1970. His family business continued to grow throughout the United States and foreign markets. He was active in local and state politics throughout his adult life, and a member of Pin Oak Baptist Church. He was involved in numerous community and student organizations through being a long time buyer at Cleveland Dairy Day, Trinity Valley Exposition, and supported Cleveland Independent School District, Cleveland Senior Citizen Organization as well as many other community organizations.

His life was focused on helping his family, friends, and business. He never met a stranger and his love was shared by many both near and far. The love for his family was deeply rooted in his daily life and will reach into generations that will continue to grow and prosper. He may have been taken from this Earth, but his memories and love will continue to grow and will never be forgotten by so many.

A man of many names: Edgar, Bubba, Daddy, Gindaddy, Granddaddy, D-Daddy, Uncle Bubba, and Big Daddy may have been a few of the names we remember, but his legacy and memories will be with all of us forever. Until we meet again, “I’ll be lookin’ at y’all later” will forever ring in the minds of many.

He is survived by his wife Bettie Groce and children Rhonda Groce Steede and husband Jim Steed, Sonda Groce Green and husband Chip Green, Jay Groce and wife Mary Jane Groce. Grandchildren: Tarah Steede Kasha, Brandon Green, Tiffany Green, Ryan Steede, Evan Steede, Carly Groce, and Garett Groce. Great-Grandchildren: Steven Kasha and Paige Kasha. Brothers and sisters: Billy Joe Groce, Evelyn Johnston, Ellen Ann Page, Charles Pelly Groce, and Debbie Gilley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special friends: D’Wayne and Judy Briggs. He is preceded in death by his father Willie Groce and mother Vera Taylor Groce.

Visitation will be held at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, TX on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 4-9 pm, and the funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 2 pm. Please contact Pace-Stancil Funeral Home at 281-592-2641 for additional information.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cleveland Senior Citizen Organization, at 220 Peach Street, Cleveland, TX 77327 in memory of Edgar J. “Bubba” Groce.
