Carrie Lynn Vantassel Nichols, 46, of Liberty died December 2, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

She was born in Angleton, TX on September 17, 1964 to Martin Cecil Deberry and Geraldine Abshire. She had lived in Lumberton for 5 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God church in Liberty.

She is survived by her Husband; Charlie Nichols of Lumberton., Father; Martin Deberry of Liberty., Mother; Geraldine Deberry of Cleveland., Step Mother; Pam Deberry of Liberty., Daughters; Tara Palmer of Dayton, Chelsea Vantassel of Lumberton, and one Grandchild Nicholas Miller of Dayton. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday December 5, 2010 starting at 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Liberty.

A service of remembrance will be held Monday December 6, 2010 at 10:00 A.M at Bethel Assembly of God Church of Liberty with Reverend Darrell Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park & cemetery in Dayton. Pallbearers are Craig Deberry, Kenneth Deberry, Mark Steven Riojas, Tony Deberry, John Earl Scott, Paul Keith Vanderpool.

Arrangements are under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Lamb

O'Danna LoDell Lamb, 55, of Batson, died Wednesday December 1, 2010 at her residence.

O'Danna was born April 15, 1955 in Liberty, TX to John Wesley Taylor and Vivian Marie Fregia. She was a retired Teachers Aid at West Hardin I.S.D. She had lived in Batson most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Batson.

She is survived by her husband; Gerald Lamb of Batson., Sons; Brandon Slankard and wife Melanie of Batson., Jason Slankard and wife Tiffany of Batson., Daughters; Heather Williams and husband Darris of Thicket., Step-Daughter; Renee Varney of Palenstine. Brothers; Bo Taylor and wife Geraldine of Huffman., Wesley Taylor and wife Linda of McAllen., Sister; Beryl Walters of Batson., Grandchildren; Kayla, Jaycie, Maygan, Colten, Cadence, Luke, Aisley, Aaron, Madison, Shyla and Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday December 3, 2010 at 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Batson.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday December 4, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Frank Aragon, Ken Davis, and Tolbert Hudspeth officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Arrangements are under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Dugat

Michael “Mike” Douglas Dugat, 62, died Monday, November 29, 2010 in Houston, after a brief illness. He was born December 9, 1947 in Dayton, Texas to parents, Douglas “Archie” Dugat and Lara “Fannie” Stevens Dugat.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Dayton where he attended Dayton schools, graduating from Dayton High School in 1966. He had worked as a truck driver, backhoe operator and brand inspector for the Texas Cattleman’s Association, but was best known as a law enforcement office for Liberty County. He was also a member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge #825.

Graveside Services are 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Dugat Family cemetery on CR 460 in Dayton. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2010 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruthie Dugat; and nephew, Chuck West. He is survived by his wife: Jimmie Lynn Pruitt Dugat of Dayton; daughters: Dianna Williams and husband Bobby of Dayton and Karen Mills and husband Calvin of Baytown; sons: Donald Berka & wife Betty of Caldwell, Jay Berka of Liberty, and Shawn Sullivan and wife Ashley of Dayton; sister: Lynn West and husband Rogene of Dayton; numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Robinson

Funeral Services for Gwendolyn Robinson, 49, of Liberty, Texas will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 11:00 A.M., at Trinity Valley Missionary Baptist Church.

The Reverend Marvin Etheridge, Pastor, Reverend Greg Bellard, Eulogist will be officiating, with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery. A member of Trinity Valley Baptist Church, she was retired from Wal-Mart after seventeen years as a manager in Personnel

She passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown after an illness.

She is survived by her husband; Timothy Redmond; four sons: Carl Joseph Chapman and Stanley Ray Bellard both of Liberty, Marcus Robinson of Beaumont. and Geoffrey King of Dayton; two daughters: Carletha Sims of Humble and Brittany King of Dayton; her father: John W. Dorsey, of Ames; three brothers: Anthony Antoine and Richard Dorsey, both of Crosby and Audie Ray Bellard of Liberty; two sisters: Jacqueline Dorsey of Baytown and Elizabeth Dorsey of Crosby; six grandchildren: Mia, Aniya, Presley, Halanna, Elijah and Ramaih and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ross

Ronald Joseph Ross, 62, of Hull, died Tuesday November 30, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth of Beaumont.

Ronald was born September 24, 1948 in St. Louis Missouri to his father Floyd Franklin Ross and mother Augusta Marie Kerberiev. Ronald lived in Hull for Twenty years, He had worked in Maintenance for Penske and was a U.S Army veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hull.

He is Preceded in death by his sister Kathy Ross, wife Bobbie Lynne Ross and his father Floyd Ross.

Ronald is survived by his Mother; Augusta Marie Ross of Dexter, Missouri., Sons; Brick Coronis and wife Andrea of Hull, Chris Coronis and wife Christian of Tampa, Florida., Daughter; Kelley White and husband Corey of Liberty., Brother; Jim Ross of Dexter, Missouri., Sister; Barbara Ross of Dexter, Missouri., Grandchildren; Candace Poole of Beaumont., Carly and Cauge Coronis of Hull., and Kelsey Stoddard of Junction City, Kansas.

The family will be receiving friends Friday December 3, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Hull from 5 :00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. A services of remembrance will be held Saturday December 4, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Hull with Reverend Cliff Gravitt and David Pursly officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson, Texas.

Arrangements are under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Thibodeaux

Theresa Ann Thibodeaux, age 70, died Sunday, November 28, 2010 in Houston.

She was born in Eunice, LA July 27, 1940 the daughter of the late Lewis Andrepont and Helen Corville Andrepont. Theresa enjoyed reading, watching game shows, the food network, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Charlene Faye Thibodeaux, brothers, P.J. Andrepont, Darrell Andrepont, and Murclay Andrepont, as well as a sister Patricia Viator.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Tammy Fagan of Dayton, Adam Wayne Thibodeaux of Raywood, Jerry Lee Thibodeaux of Liberty, Vicki Page of Bastrop and Darlene K. Page of Bastrop. In addition she leaves ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty with a rosary service to be held at 7PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Church in Liberty with committal to follow in Liberty Catholic cemetery.

Smith

Dillie Mae Smith, 83, of Daisetta, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at home after an extended illness.

She was born May 18, 1927 in Coldspring, Texas to parents, George Clinton Smith, Sr. and Mary Burks Smith. She had lived in Daisetta for the past seven years previously of San Antonio and was a member of the Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith enjoyed sewing, crochet, and landscaping. She had a great love for music.

Services for Mrs. Smith will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Cleveland cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Pallbearers are Michael Asbill, Larry Hill, Jr., James Asbill, Derrell Burress, Gabriel Burress and Kevin Burress.

She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, James M. Swanner, Sr.; daughters, Alice Swanner and Dutch Swanner Wright; grandsons, Timothy Burress and Nolan Byerly; and granddaughter, Melissa Asbill. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Frank “Sonny” Smith of Daisetta; son, James “Jim” Swanner, Jr. & wife Shirley; daughters, Sandy Burress and husband Charles of Moss Hill, Kay Asbill and husband Mike of Dayton, Judy Martinez and husband Jesse of Castroville, and Lugenia Fregia and husband Glen of Liberty; sisters, Bessie Martin of Conroe, Rosey Jordan of Dayton, and Velora Amos of Dayton; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, Daisetta, Texas.

Lofton

John “J. W.” Wilford Lofton, Jr., 67, of Orange, died Nov. 24, 2010 at his residence. John was born December 25, 1942 in McComb, Mississippi, to parents: John Lofton, Sr. and Mazie Lofton. He was a retired captain for a tug boat and served in the U.S. Army.

A private family interment will be Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 at Forest Park East cemetery. Services are under the direction Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mr. Lofton was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Pete Lofton. Survivors include long time friend and caregiver: Faye Henderson, daughter: Monica Lofton, son: John Lofton III, sisters: Alice Jett and husband Skip, Martha Morris and husband Charlie; grandchildren: Willie, Brodie, and Melanie, numerous other relatives and friends also survived. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Texas Oncology, 600 N. 14th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77702.

Deckert

Ammie “Sissie” Eretta Deckert, 76, of Hull, died Wednesday November 24, 2010 at Liberty Healthcare Center of Liberty.

Born in Batson Prairie, she had lived in Hull most of her life and was a retired Cafeteria worker for Hull elementary School and also a member of the Central Baptist Church of Daisetta.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Richard Deckert, brother Sonny Hickman, and Sister Faye Hickman Teel.

Survivors are her daughter Jan Bird and husband Kenneth of Hull, son Eddie Blue Deckert and wife Johanna of Thousand Oaks CA. Brother Lloyd Hickman and wife Norma Faye of Kilgore, sisters Nadine Cook of Batson Prairie and sister-in-law Bobbie Hickman of Segno grandchildren Andrea Coronis and husband Brick of Hull, Michelle Fontenot and husband Lloyd of Raywood and Sandra Sweezy of Liberty.. Great grandchildren Candace Poole, Carly Coronis, Devin Fontenot, Cauge Coronis and P.J. Fontenot.

A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday December 1, 2010 at 10:00A.M. At Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel with Reverend Jim VanDorn officiating, interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday November 30, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. Until 9:00 P.M. At Faith & Family Funeral Services.

Services are under care of Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson.

Chapman

Charles Otis Chapman, age 77, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 in Baytown.

Charles was born in Tallulah, LA. August 29, 1933 the son of the late Daniel Chapman and Mary Jones Chapman. A Korean War veteran, Charles served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne. He last worked as a pipefitter for the past 25 years, as a member of the Pipefitters Local 211. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda Chapman, sisters, Dorothy Glenn Avant and Jenny Lee Chapman, brothers, R.H. Chapman, John W. Lambert and a close friend Larry Brockleman.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Janna Gill husband Allen of Dayton, son, Daniel Chapman of Houston, daughter Jennifer Chapman of Baytown, sisters, Katherine Sampson of Dayton and Florence Cameron of Dayton, brother, Joseph Chapman of Dayton, a close friend, Tony Townsend, eight grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends. Charles will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 29, 2010 from 5-8PM at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St. Dayton. A graveside service will be held 2PM Tuesday at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.

Yoakum

Ruth V. Crouch Yoakum, 78, of Dayton, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 after an extended illness.

She was born October 26, 1932 in Honolulu, Hawaii to parents Charles and Isabella DeSouza Crouch. She loved her family, cooking, collecting recipes, playing the piano and singing, also fishing, crabbing, crocheting, and playing cards with friends.

Services for Mrs. Yoakum will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday prior to her service.

Mrs. Yoakum was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband: Ted Branson, her second husband: Paul Yoakum; her brother: Charles Andrew Crouch, Jr., and her brother-in-law: Clyde Christ. She is survived by her children: Elaine Cunningham and Homer of Fontana, KS, Ted, Branson, Jr. and Sherry of Warsaw, MO, Sharon Doss and Franny of Hutchinson, KS, Bobby Branson and Patti of Harrisonville, MO, and Sally Kramer and Jeff of Dayton, TX, 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; her siblings: Charles Andrew Crouch, Jr., Mira Lockhart of Independence, MO, Ruth Yoakum of Dayton, TX, Jeanette Christ of Dallas, TX, and Ruby Horton and Wayne of Independence, MO; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Jamison

William T. “Bill” Jamison, 83, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 in Beaumont after an extended illness.

He was born April 25, 1927 in Dayton, Texas to parents, William Thomas Jamison, Sr. and Allene Solomon Jamison. A lifelong resident of Dayton, he graduated from Dayton High School and from Texas A & I. Mr. Jamison served during World War II in the United States Army, was a long time farmer and rancher and was retired from the Local 450 Heavy Equipment Union. He was always very active and supportive of his community where he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, 100 Club, Lions Club, FFA Sales Committee, Dayton Young Farmers, American Rice Growers, Liberty County Appraisal District, Dayton State Bank Board of Directors, and the Dayton Pioneer Student Association. Bill enjoyed working his cows, duck hunting, and traveling. He attended Calvary Baptist Church and was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church. A pilot, he enjoyed flying, but most of all he enjoyed being with his grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Jamison will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Magnolia Park cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Russell Brownlee, Jack Hodges, Bob Hodges, Bryan Robbins, Kehl Robbins, Bruce Corbell, Rob Chachere and Trace Armstrong. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill McMillon, L.J. Chachere, L.R. Wisegerber, Rogene West, Lloyd Hodges, Bill Hodges, Luke Chachere, Johnnie C. Smith, Elmer Clark, Alan Clark, Terry Tate, Pete Jamison, Matt Chachere, and Ford Flurry.

Mr. Jamison was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara Jamison, infant son, W.T. Jamison, III, and sister, Louise Clark. He is survived by his son, Mark Jamison and wife Connie of Dayton; daughter, Jan Jamison of Dayton; grandchildren, Amber King and husband Daniel of Dayton and Garrett Jamison and wife Rachel of Dayton; great-granddaughter, Brynlee King of Dayton; sisters, Allene Hodges of Stephenville and Dot Tate of Houston; brother, Bob Jamison and wife Linda of Dayton; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Peebles

Helen Iris Peebles, 65, of Hardin, died Tuesday November 23, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Born in Spokane Washington, she had lived in Hardin for thirteen years was a self employed Rubberstamp Engraver and was also a member of North Main Baptist Church of Liberty.

Helen is survived by her husband John Peebles of Hardin, daughters Martha Rae Pitts of Hardin, LeAnn Valdez of Flatonia, Sisters Gwenda Johnston of Beaumont, Jacquline Liston of Hardin, and Judy Potts of Katy. Grandchildren are Destiny Pitts and Sam Knox Pitts III.

A service of remembrance will be held on Monday November 29, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. North Main Baptist Church of Liberty with Reverend Dick Lintelman officiating.

A graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M. At Davis cemetery in Roganville TX.

The family will be receiving friends on Sunday November 28, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. Until 8:00 P.M. At North Main Baptist Church. Pallbearers are H.R. Johnston III, Mark Johnston, David Johnston, Kevin Liston, Dan Danek and Les Peebles Jr.

Arrangements are under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson, TX.
