Brett

Anna Louetta Brett, 84, of Hull, Texas died at her home on the evening of Tuesday, November 16, 2010 with her family at her side.

Anna Lou was a lifelong resident of Hull, Texas. She was born to parents Terry T. Palmer and Elletta Rogers Palmer. She was raised and lived out her life on the families farm and ranch, which has been in the family for five generations. Anna Lou was a homemaker and a farmer and rancher. Anna Lou enjoyed cooking and working on the ranch. She was just as comfortable in a saddle or in a truck as she was behind a stove. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and a wonderful friend to many.

She is preceded by her parents, her husband, Jesse Key “Bill” Brett, and one son, Terry Palmer LeNormand.

She is survived by her son, John K. Brett, daughter-in-law, Fay Brett, daughter-in-law Debra Gilbert, grandchildren; Thad LeNormand and wife Stacy, Kory Brett and wife Jenna, Kade Brett and wife Kylee, Kati Brett, Jason Simeon and wife Mandi, Shawn LeNormand Knight and husband Tony, seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Saige, Ellie, Palmer, Tanner, Callie and Caleb, special friend Florence Green and many other relatives and friends. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held Thursday, November 18, 2010, from 5pm until 8pm at Allison Funeral Service Chapel. Graveside services will be held Friday, November 19, 2010, at 10:00am, at the Brett Family cemetery located on the Brett Ranch in Hull, Texas, with Reverend V.R. Hylton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas.

Wiggins

Vera Merle Blaha Wiggins, 76, of Liberty, died Monday, November 15, 2010, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Beaumont.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010, at the Liberty Church of Christ in Liberty. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Merle was born March 30, 1934 in Cushing, to parents; Enoch W. and Willie M. Greer Spencer, a former resident of Austin and Huffman, and has resided in the Liberty area for the past 35 years. She was a homemaker, member of the Liberty Church of Christ, and assisted with the Liberty County Jail Bible Study, the Liberty County Grief Relief Group, and a caregiver for the elderly. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and was an avid reader.

Mrs. Blaha Wiggins was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Ellis Ray Johnson, Julius David Blaha, and Hillary George Wiggins, son: Stephen W. Johnson, three brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her sons: Micheal Ray Johnson of Plano and James Johnson of Austin, daughters: Debbie Andree of Galveston, Tonya Johnson of Corvallis, OR, and Renee Blaha of Austin, 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and another on the way, sisters: Fay Campbell of Hawkins, Margie Hull of Nordheim, and Iva Spencer of Kilgore, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Largent

Thelma Wyles Largent, born on August 4, 1913 in Grapeland, Texas, to parents James and Ivy Gayle Wyles, completed her journey here on November 11, 2010.

Thelma had a quiet inner-strength and a gentle kindness that touched many lives on her journey through this life. She worked as a seamstress at “The Grand Leader” in Liberty for almost 30 years. Her passions were sewing, mowing, digging in her rose garden and reading; however, her greatest joy was her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva C. Largent, two sons, Roy Largent and David Largent and grandson Albert Elkins

She is survived by two daughters; Sharon Dunn and her husband Gary of Kenefick, Betty Jo Humphrey and her husband Neil of Tarrifville, Ct., son-in-law, Jimmy Elkins of Liberty, eight grandchildren; Dixi Elkins of Houston, Andy Elkins of Liberty, Texas, Doug Humphrey and wife Erin, Tonya Humphrey, Amy D’Agata and husband David, all of Connecticut, Sheila Drown and husband David of Jourdanton, Texas, Great-Grandchildren; Kaitlin, Kelsie, Seth, Jessica, Madison, Morgan, Colton, Edie, Emmie, Jordan, Amanda, Mason, Ryan, Penny, Jennifer, Monica, Anthony and Nicholas, special friends; Linda Mann, Sharron Farris, John and Donna Haynes and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010, from 5pm until 7pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, Liberty, Texas.

Willis

Joe Pete Willis, Sr., 87, of Batson, died Sunday November 14, 2010 at Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena TX.

Joe had lived in Batson since 1961 and was a retired Oilfield worker where he worked for Foster Well Services. He was a U.S WW II Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Willis, son Randall Craig Willis and granddaughter Mendi Lea Anderson.

Survivors are his daughter, Linda “Zig” Anderson and husband Jim of Hull, Joe Pete “Bull” Willis Jr and wife Martha of Batson. Brother Lloyd Willis and wife Evelyn of Goodrich TX. Grandchildren Carrie Hickman and husband Deac of Batson, Mandi Anderson of Hull, Holly Ferguson of Hull, Joe P. Willis III of Batson. Great-grandchildren; Chance Hickman, Mia Ferguson, Jon Ferguson, Randall Craig Willis and Treyton Leo Willis.

A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday November 17, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Daisetta United Pentecostal Church with Reverend Lonnie Jordan officiating, interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday November 16, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson, TX.

Luksovsky

Francis Jeanette Berryman Warburton Luksovsky born on 1st day of November 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Albert Lee Berryman and Florence Carlisle Berryman. Francis completed her journey here on Monday, November 8, 2010 after a short diagnosis and a hard fight with cancer.

Francis touched many lives on her journey through this life. Francis in her mid 50’s return to college and successfully graduated with her LVN degree.

In her earlier years she enjoyed being a mother. She loved sewing, crocheting, and reading. She had several hobbies. She loved doing them when she had time.

Francis memories will be cherished by her husband: Luke Luksovsky; one surviving brother: Donald Berryman; three daughters: Patricia Walger, Mary Dyer and Lorrie Blaskey; two sons: Floyd A. Warburton and Leonard Warburton: three stepsons: Kyle Luksovsky, Clay Luksovsky, and Joe Luksovsky: seven grandchildren: Jason Green, Jennifer Carroll, April Freeman, Tara Warburton, Becky Marcum, Sean Blaskey, Lindsey Warburton and Ryan Alford. Three step-grandchildren: Misty Keim, Julie Messick, and Kelsey Luksovsky. Great-Grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Megan Carroll, Zachary Loper, Hayden Blaskey, Lucas Keim, and Isabella Keim; as well as countless relatives, friends, and acquaintances. She will be missed greatly by many.

A memorial service will be held 6:30 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, 1304 North Cleveland, Dayton, Texas.

Graper

Louise Graper, 72, died November 6, 2010. Louise was raised in Houston and lived in Dayton for many years before returning to Houston for the rest of her life. She was a house wife and caretaker for her mother. She loved to needlepoint, loved her plants, and volunteering at the Houston Public Library. She enjoyed going to plays and musicals and reading. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of M.D. Anderson for the special care they gave Louise.

Louise was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Mae Thayer; father, Earnest Thayer; brother, Robert Thayer; grandparents, Fritz and Ida Senne of Hondo.

Louise is survived by her husband, William Graper; son, Eric Hall & wife, Melaney; grandsons, James & Chance; granddaughter, Avery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Hondo (Texas) cemetery, Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Noon.

Eichelberger

Walton Leon Eichelberger, 68, of Dayton, died on November 7, 2010 at his residence in Dayton.

He was a loving father, grandfather, stepfather and special friend.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 11, 2010 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Walton was preceded in death by his parents Willis and Evelyn Eichelberger Sr.; sister, Barbara Chesney. Walton worked for many years as an Operator for Equistar. He was a member of Grace Community Baptist Church in Dayton.

Walton is survived by his son, Eugene Eichelberger and wife Lisa of Humble; daughter, Jessica Swearingen of Hardin, TX; brother, Woodrow Eichelberger; nephew, Elton Chesney and wife Joyce; stepchildren, Camie Brock and husband Dale, Jackie Harris and husband Tommy, Sam Peak and wife Phyllis; grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Jacob Eichelberger, Colton and Grant Swearingen; paw-paw Walt to numerous grandchildren.

Alexander

Robert Clint Alexander, 50, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services are set for 10:00 am on Thursday, November 11, 2010 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in French cemetery in Dayton. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 Pm on Wednesday, November 10, 2010.

Clint was preceded in death by his father, Leon Alexander and daughter, Elizabeth Aline Alexander. He loved and worked as a welder for many years.

Clint is survived by his wife, Lisa Alexander; daughters, Krista Bankston, Katherine Alexander, and Nikki Alexander; mother, Margaret Alexander; grandsons, Christopher Covington, Wesley Bankston, and Brayden Keigley; brothers, Steve and Greg Alexander; and girlfriend, Amy Vandver.

Walker

Ernesteen Ramsey Walker, born September 27, 1923.

Preceded in death by husband Otto and son Gerald David.

Survived by sister Alice Riddlehoover and husband Howard of Carthage, Texas. Son Dick Walker and wife Dympthea of Anahuac. Daughter Deanna Humphrey and husband Steve of Anahuac. Granddaughter Tanya DeHoyos and husband Victor of McKinney, Texas. Granddaughter Denise Russell and husband Tim of Anahuac. Grandson David Walker and wife Katie of Christoval, Texas. Greatgrandsons Pierre and Myqul Russell of Anahuac. Great-granddaughters Ajante and Zsanee Russell of Anahuac. Great-granddaughters Esperanza and Anjelita Fe DeHoyos of McKinnney. In addition she leaves five step-grandchildren, 2 step great-granddaughters, and one step great-great-grandson.

Ernesteen was a public school elementary teacher who retired from Anahuac ISD. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Anahuac where she spent many years teaching Sunday School.

A funeral service will be held 2PM Saturday, November 6, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Anahuac, with visitation to be held from 12-2PM on Saturday at the church. Burial will be private.

Myers

Funeral Service for Charles Wilson Myers, 55, of Liberty, will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 12:00 Noon in Wells Memorial Chapel, 300 Alabama, with the Reverend Eric Prater, officiating, burial in Acie cemetery, Dayton, Texas.

A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Charles was gifted with the ability to work with electrical appliances, taking discarded appliances, sometimes with parts missing, and restoring them to working condition. Over the years he worked as a short order cook, a mechanic, a freelance electrician and plumber, occasionally assisting with home construction. As his health failed, Charles could be seen riding around town on his scooter and later, his lawnmower.

A Wake service will be held on Friday, November 5, from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in Wells Chapel.

He is survived by his daughter: Keisha Zeno of Houston, Texas; his sister: Delorias (John) Mitchell of Mexia, Texas, his aunt Lillie Vaughn of Houston, Texas; his cousin: Johnny Caballero of Liberty, Texas, his adopted family Karey and Monique Scranton and their children, also of Liberty; two nephews, one niece, twelve great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.

Bush

Martha Jane Bush, 69, of Dayton, died Wednesday November 3rd, 2010. She was born to her parents Preston and Hermine Norwood October 19, 1941 in Houston, TX. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School of Houston in 1960. She was a Clerk for Liberty County. She battled ovarian cancer for almost six years and never let up the fight. Martha was a Christian woman that loved the Lord. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Dayton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Hermine Norwood; sisters, Bernice Palmer and LaVern Wallace

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Mike Bush; daughter, Lee Ann Slankard; grandchildren, Kaleigh Williamson and Michael Slankard; sister, Doris Crayton; mother-in-law, Lou Bush

Her family will receive friends at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton on Saturday November 6th, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 6th at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton officiated by Rev. Dale Hill. Burial will follow at Linney cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gerald Burns, Bruce Maines, George Bush, Bobby Payne, Clifford Meeks and Mel Schobel.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home 602 N. Main, Dayton, Texas, 77535.

Terrell

Lizzie Mae Terrell, 80, of Liberty, died Sunday, October 31, 2010, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the Mt. Rose Baptist Church in Liberty with burial following at Wells Memorial cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the church. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Lizzie Mae was born November 10, 1929 in Lafayette, LA, and has resided in the Liberty area throughout her life. She was a retired custodian and cafeteria employee from Liberty ISD middle and high schools after 35 years of employment, and a member, missionary, and mother of her church for the Godfrey Chapel Church of God in Christ. She also enjoyed church activities, family and friends, and will be remembered as a caring person who would help or mother any and all who needed it.

Mrs. Terrell was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years: Melvin Terrell, daughter: Linda Faye Terrell, parents: Anthony, Sr. and Ada McZeal, sisters: Bertha Lockhart, Elfreda Baskin, and Eleanor Newton, brother: Jewel McZeal, and son-in-law: Henry Randolph. She is survived by her daughters: Chandra Randolph of Liberty and Wanda Powell and husband Norman of Beaumont, sons: Patrick Terrell and wife Carolyn of Baytown, Darrell Terrell of Barrett Station, Gerald Terrell and wife Kim of Lexington, KY, and Marvin Terrell of Liberty, sister: Teresa Malone of Baytown, brother: Anthony McZeal, Jr. of Jennings, LA, 16 grandchildren, 23 great and several great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
