Polasek

Patricia Ann Polasek, 61, of Dayton, TX, died on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at her residence with her family by her side.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt.

A Mass of Christian Burial was recited at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 18 at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church with Reverend Michael Vu celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in Magnolia Park cemetery. A gathering of family and friends was from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, L.G. and Aline (Wilkerson) Crisp. She was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church. Patricia was a preschool teacher at Kreative Kids Learning Center for many years.

Mrs. Polasek is survived by her husband of 37 years, Michael Polasek; son, Eric Polasek; sister, Dorothy Eades and husband Bobby; nieces, Mary Tune and Debbie Johnson; nephew, Tony Eades and a host of other family and friends.

Hill

Alice Jewel Coker Hill, 92, of Liberty, died on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

She was loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 25, 2010 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Thomas Hill; sister, Helen Angermiller; brother, Lawrence Coker; grandsons, Robert and Eli Hill. Alice loved to knit, cook, sewing, working in her yard.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her children, Paul and Mary Hill of Highland, William Hill, of Raywood Doug and Rachel Hill of Raywood, Mary Alice and Johnny Wiser of Daisetta, Glenda and Sonny "Ralph" Lowe of Liberty, Dean and Brenda Hill of Devers; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Chandler

Thomas W. “Tommy” Chandler, 65, of Kenefick, died Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at Memory Gardens cemetery in Baytown. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Tommy was born September 18, 1945 in Baytown, to parents; Luther W. and Ollie Mae Neiderhofer Chandler, was a former resident of Highlands, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 32 years. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, a retired heavy equipment operator for Harris County Pct. 2 after 35 years of employment, member of the First Baptist Church and the Dayton Young Farmers. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and his work.

Mr. Chandler was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Emily Jaks Chandler of Kenefick, sons: Clint Chandler and wife Sandy of Kenefick, Chad Chandler and wife Ashley of N.C., and Dustin Chandler of Kenefick, grandchildren: Ashley, J.D., Hunter, Kayla, Cecilia, and Mitch, great-grandchildren: Madalynn and Carson, sisters: Barbara Talley and husband Jack of Kenefick, Elaine Laird and husband Pinky of Moss Bluff, and Charlene Hooper and husband Van of Highlands, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Hylton

Amanda Christine Hylton, 34, of Liberty, Texas died on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.

She was born on December 16, 1975 in Baytown, Texas to parents, Edwin Ray Hylton and Cynthia Smith Hylton. Amanda graduated from Liberty High School in 1994 and from Texas A & M in 1998.

A visitation will be held at North Main Baptist Church, Liberty, Texas, on Monday, October 25, 2010, from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, 2PM at North Main Baptist Church with Reverend Dick Lintelman officiating. Burial will follow at Cooke Memorial cemetery, Lakeland Drive, Liberty, Texas.

Amanda was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mildred and Lester Smith, and her fraternal grandparents Billie and Ray Hylton Sr..

She is survived by her parents, Edwin Ray and Cynthia Hylton, sister, Erin Wyllie and husband Jason, brother, Andrew Hylton, her beloved canine niece and nephew, Chuck and Sadie, and a host of other friends and relatives.

Services are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas.

McCarty

James Allen McCarty, 79, of Brookston, Texas, died on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Paris Regional Medical Center, Paris, Texas.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010, from 5pm until 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, Liberty, Texas. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010, 2pm at Cooke Memorial cemetery in Liberty, Texas with Reverend Dick Lintelman officiating.

Mr. McCarty, known to many as “Rick” loved to tell jokes, was a good storyteller and loved to be the center of attention. He enjoyed landscaping, mowing, gambling and good food. Mr. McCarty served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner/operator of McCarty Vacumn Service in Kilgore, Texas. He was born on September 30, 1931, in Dodge Ridge, Arkansas to parents, Herschel McCarty and Lula Jones McCarty.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley Faye McCarty, three brothers; H.C. McCarty Jr., Charles McCarty, Bill McCarty, three sisters; Louise Glass, Margie Ingram, Virginia Kennedy. He is survived by, one daughter, Pamela Robbins and husband Wesley, and one son, Randy McCarty, one grandson, Tyler Robbins and wife Ashley, and many other relatives and friends.

Services are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas.

Murray

Randy Eugene Murray, 58, of LaPorte, died on October 21, 2010 after a long illness.

Randy was born in Henderson, Texas on April 30, 1952, the son of Hilton & Betty Murray.

He is preceded in death by his father and is lovingly survived by his wife of 23 years, Janelle Murray; by children, Lucas Kyle Murray and Jordan Kathleen Murray. By mother, Betty Morse; brother, Marvin Murray & wife Debbie; sisters, Marilyn Thompson & husband Max and Sharon Norris; by in-laws, Doris & Carlos Smith, Larry & Grace Robinson and Cindy & Sambo Cole; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and dear friends.

The family will gather with friends for a time of remembrance Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 from 1-3:00 p.m. with Memorial Services to celebrate his life at 3:00 p.m.Saturday, at River Pointe Church, 970 Dell Dale Avenue, Houston, TX 77530 with Rev. Rob Morris officiating, under the directions of Carter Funeral Home.

Stanley

George Lloyd Stanley, 63, of Anahuac, died on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Houston Hospice in Houston. George was a loving father, grandfather, son, and brother.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday at First Baptist Church in Anahuac under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac City cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Monday at First Baptist Church.

George was preceded in death by his father, Jack E . Stanley Sr.; grandparents, George G. H. Fahring M.D. and Octavia Fahring. George attended First Baptist Church in Anahuac.

George is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Anderson and husband Aaron; granddaughters, Skylar and Brinley Rose Anderson; mother, Octavia Fahring Stanley; sisters, Georgia Clapper and husband Rob, Permelia Matheson and husband Jon, Carolyn Plato and husband Tom; brother, Bud Stanley and wife Carol; friend, Susan Stanley; and a host of other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Houston Hospice, 1908 Holcombe, Houston, TX 77030 or the First Baptist Church in Anahuac.

Griffin

C. F. Griffin, 85, of Dayton, died Thursday, October 21, 2010, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at Pin Oak cemetery in Cleveland. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

C. F. was born February 25, 1925 in Cleveland, to parents; Rufus B. and Bertha Legal Griffin, and has resided in the Dayton area for most of his life. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School class of 1943, veteran of the US Navy, a retired chemical engineer from Petrolite Chemicals, member of the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church, and owner/operator of the Kenefick car wash. He also enjoyed building and collecting violins and bee keeping.

Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Leveata Enloe Griffin of Dayton, sons: Michael B. Griffin of Dayton and Pat Griffin and wife Tammi of League City, sister: Helen Stockton and husband John of Cleveland, grandchildren: Philip, Shane, Alan, and Amy Griffin, Cari Gibson, and Alaina Yawn, great-grandchildren: Brantley, Aspen, Jayme, Cyrus, Corvin, and Kylee, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Eakens

Thelma Hardy Eakens, 92, of Saratoga, died Tuesday October 19, 2010 at her residence.

A service of remembrance will be held Friday October 22, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. with Reverend Frank Aragon and Billy Wayne Walston officiating interment to follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday October 21, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at Faith & Family.

Born in Dotson TX, she had lived in Saratoga since 1948 and was a retired school teacher with thirty four years of service where she taught at West Hardin and Saratoga school and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Saratoga.

Survivors are her husband Orbin Eakens of Saratoga, daughter Janell Payne of Lumberton, step-daughter Pam Molina of Wildwood, four grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

Services are under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson, TX.

Wright

Paul Oren Wright, 83, of Dayton, died on Tuesday October 19, 2010.

He was born in Enid, Oklahoma on January 10th, 1927. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He was an electrical lineman. He was a member of The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Cleveland. He was a loving husband and a great father to his step-children and a great “PawPaw” to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E.A. and Josie Wright; first wife, Irmgard Wright; daughter, Theresia Wright.Three sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Ernestine Wright; step-sons, Don Croft and wife Marsha, Stephen Croft and wife Johnie, Randy Croft and wife Nichole, seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Patsie Chaney and husband Melvin and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation is scheduled for the public on Thursday October 21, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday October 22, 2010 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 13102 N. Freeway, Houston, Texas, officiated by Rev. Bob Cheney.

Arrangements are under the directions of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main, Dayton, TX 77535.

Nunez

David Lyndon Nunez, 31, of Dayton, died Saturday, October 16, 2010, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at Morgan Chapel cemetery in Cleveland. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

David was born October 27, 1978 in Baytown, to parents; Jody M. and Loyce Ann Knight Nunez, a former resident of Anahuac and Baytown, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 18 years. He was a graduate of Anahuac High School where he played football and golf, had attended U of H and Lee College, was a certified electrician, was employed by the Wal Mart Distribution Center, and a member of White Horse Revival Church. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, music, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Nunez was preceded in death by his grandfather: Billy Nunez, Sr. and uncle: Billy Nunez, Jr. He is survived by his parents: Jody M. and Loyce A. Knight Nunez of Dayton, sister: Jan Nunez of Mt. Belvieu, brother-in-law: John Stahl of Mt. Belvieu, grandparents: Gary L. and Rhue Dean Knight of Jefferson, Stanley and Beverly Zeglin of Baytown, and Shirley Nunez of Baytown, girlfriend: Alex Bell of Alvin, nieces: Emily Adrianne Hernandez and Anya Jade Stahl of Mt. Belvieu, his dog: Budda, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

McKinney

Helen Lorean Marcontell McKinney was born on March 18, 1943 and died October 16. 2010 after 67 years of a victorious life.

She was a native and resident of Thicket, Texas for most of her life.

She is survived by her son; Reverend Wade McKinney and wife Lisa of Thicket, and by her daughter; Melissa McKinney Evers and husband Rob of Danbury, TX. Her seven grandchildren are Derek Evers and wife Kendra, Kendal Evers, Aaron Evers, Marissa McKinney, Zackery McKinney, and Caleb McKinney.

The family also wishes to recognize Christopher Mullens and wife Helen of Heavener, OK, as special family members. She has one brother, Mordie Marcontell and wife Doris of Thicket.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard J. McKinney and both parents, Mordie W. Marcontell and Lorean Graham Marcontell.

She had retired from the U.S. Department of Energy-Big Hill Strategic Petroleum Reserve in Winnie TX, where she had worked many years as a parts specialist and inventory clerk.

Helen was a dynamic woman of God. She had served the Lord her whole life in various capacities such as a church bible teacher, choir director, educational director, camp counselor, mentor, intercessor, and is probably most known for being a gospel singer and musician. After her father Mordie W. Marcontell sold land to buy an old upright piano, she adapted well at around 5 years of age. She became a favorite alto and pianist for shape-note convention and Southern Gospel singing across the South-East Texas region and was later featured as a soloist and with other groups of family and friends as they sang on live radio broadcasts, television, and in camp meetings, revivals, and crusades across the state. Her melodic and anointed voice was used to bring many to a decision for Christ, and many more were encouraged to continue their journey with God.

Her legacy continues with her children and grandchildren who are in ministry and are preachers, teachers, missionaries, musicians, singers, psalmist, and gospel recording artists.

A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday October 19, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Thicket Church of God in Thicket TX with Reverend Wade McKinney officiating along with other friends of the family who will share concerning the impact of her life.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday October 18, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. Until 9:00 P.M.also at the Thicket Church of God. Interment will follow at Hall cemetery in Thicket.

Services are under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson, TX.
