Edith Keele, 84, of Oklahoma City, OK, died Thursday October 14, 2010 at her daughters residence in Batson.

She is survived by her Daughters; Patricia Parziale of Oklahoma City, OK; Denise Wagner of Topeka Kansas and Linda Welch of Batson, TX. Edith also had Ten Grandchildren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Demuth Funeral Home in Oklahoma City, OK.

Ripkowski

Mildred Damek Ripkowski, 81, of Dayton, died Thursday, October 14, 2010, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital Alexander Campus in Baytown.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2010, at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial following at Linney cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, with rosary services at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mildred was born August 1, 1929 in Dayton, to parents; Paul and Agnes McCloskey Damek, and has resided in Dayton throughout her life. She was a football sweetheart, graduate, and salutatorian of the Dayton High School class of 1946, attended Lee College, member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and altar society, committee member for the Pioneer Class, and a retired tax collector for the Dayton I.S.D. Tax Office after 27 years of employment. She also enjoyed cooking, working crossword puzzles, and watching hummingbirds.

Mrs. Ripkowski was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Franklin Ripkowski, Sr. of Dayton, son: Franklin Ripkowski, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Dayton, daughter: Karen Reiter and husband John, Jr. of Baytown, grandchildren: Leslie Mulkey and husband Joel, Jay Reiter, and Ashley and Crystal Ripkowski, great-grandchild: John Thomas Mulkey, sisters: Ruby Vyoral of Liberty and Klee Ripkowski of Baytown, brother: Paul Damek and wife June of Liberty, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Strokos

Randy Ray Strokos, age 31, died Friday, October 8, 2010 in Hardin.

He was born in Houston, February 26, 1979 the son of Albert Allen Strokos and Pamela Evan Strokos. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and many sports.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Allan Strokos, as well as his grandparents, Frank Strokos, Rachel Greer and a step-grandfather Travis Greer.

He leaves a son, Nolan Ray Strokos, mother, Pamela Strokos, brothers Albert Allan Strokos Jr. of New Caney and Tyler Wayne Strokos of Deerpark, two sisters, Carolyn Marie Strokos and Christine Marie Evans both of Porter, maternal grandfather Johnny Evans of New Caney, and a step grandmother Bertie Strokos.

A graveside service will be held 10AM Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Cooke cemetery in Liberty. Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Jones

Elaine Jones, age 67, died Thursday, October 14, 2010 in Houston with her beloved family by her side.

Elaine was born November 17, 1942 in Liberty, Texas the daughter of the late Sidney Robertson and Odelia Laird Robertson. She will fondly be remembered for her devotion to family, god, and friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a great cook with a strong will who was the “hub” of her family. She was a member of Moss Hill Pentecostal Church where she was the secretary for Sunday school. Elaine worked for many years at H&R Block as both an instructor and a tax preparer.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a brother Hugh Robertson and a nephew Jason Robertson.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of fifty years, Alton Jones of Moss Hill, daughters, Shobie Nichols and husband Eddie of Batson, Melanie Contreras and her husband Rev. Chris Contreras of Dayton, and Jennifer Jones of Moss Hill, sisters, Linda Bradley of Huntington and Blanche Buchanan of Laporte, brothers Jay Robertson of Houston and Roger Robertson of Jasper. In addition she leaves her grandchildren Connor Nichols, Callie Nichols, Morgan Contreras, and Chase Contreras.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 2PM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Guedry cemetery.

Wilde

Matthew Wayne Wilde, 28, of Raywood, Texas, died Wednesday October 13, 2010 at Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty.

Matthew was born October 14, 1981 in Hollywood Florida to Jerry Wilde and Barbara Osler Wilde.

He was a Boilermaker and had lived in Raywood most of his life.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father Jerry Wayne Wilde and grandparents Clarence and Irene Osler.

Survivors are his mother Barbara Wilde of Raywood, two brothers Travis Wilde of Beaumont, and Jarrod Wilde of Raywood. There will be a memorial service in his honor on Monday October 18, 2010 at 10:00A.M.at North Main Baptist Church of Liberty with Reverend Dick Lintelman officiating.

Services are under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson, TX.

Jones

Brent Jones, 21, of Mont Belvieu, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in Houston. He was born September 16, 1989 in Houston.

He was a graduate of Barbers Hill High School in 2008 and previously lived in Dayton, where he attended school until the eighth grade.

Brent was a welder’s helper for Taylor Pipeline in Dayton and previously was a lifeguard at Eagle Point. He enjoyed working out at the gym, being with his family and friends and watching and playing football. While in school, he began playing football in peewees and played until he graduated from high school.

Survivors include his parents, Paul and Donna Jones; daughters, BayleiRae Danielle Jones and Kalli Raine Jones; sister, Christina Bartosh and her husband Ryan and brother, Caleb Jones all of Mont Belvieu; grandparents, Vicki Oliver of Canyon Lake and Lester Oliver of Livingston; nephew, Brayden Bartosh of Mont Belvieu; fiancé, Sierra Matcek and her son Dylan; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2010 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Old River Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Biddy officiating. Burial will follow at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.

Pallbearers will be: Matt Sanchez, Colton Bay, Austin Cain, Trey Hanley, Ryan Bartosh and Brad Tice. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Cameron Tice and Caleb Jones.

Halton

Funeral Service for Geraldine Redmon Halton, 74, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010, 11:00 A.M. at Wells Memorial Chapel, Liberty, with the Reverend Richard A. Ayers, officiating, burial in Lone Star cemetery, Moss Bluff under the direction of Wells Funeral Service, Liberty, TX.

A native of Liberty, she died Wednesday October 6, 2010 at her residence in Jacksonville.

Visitation will be in the chapel from 9AM until time of service.

Mrs. Halton is survived by her husband: Curtis Halton, of Raywood, TX.; six sons: Earl Gants Jr., of Liberty, Phil A. Gants of Houston, Eddie A Gants of Halton, TX., Ivan T. Redmon of Atlanta, GA., Roland D. Redmon of Jacksonville, NC., and Curtis Halton, Jr. of Raywood; four daughters: Sadie M. Baldwin of Jacksonville, NC., Viola R. White of Tallassee, AL., Eliza J. Kirkwood, of Pflugeville, TX. And Ida E. Griffin of Austin; three brothers: Nelson Redmon of Dayton, Roland H. Redmon of Petersburg VA., and Tollie Ray Redmon of Jacksonville, FL.; one sister: Bertha L. Orebo of Liberty; forty seven grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Pastorick

Frank Pastorick, 99, of Batson, died on Monday October 11th, 2010.

He served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of The Batson Prairie Baptist Church. He served in the Batson Masonic Lodge for over 40 years where he received the Golden Trowel Award.

He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine Pastorick; sons, Harvey Taylor and wife Dennee, David Taylor and wife Cynthia; daughters, Mary Ellen Taylor, Diana Taylor Fenton and Angela Katherine Taylor; numerous grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at Allison Funeral Home on Wednesday October 13, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled Thursday October 14, 2010, 10:00am at Allison Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Fenton, Brian Webb, Bob Guedry, Dusty Taylor, Chris Fenton and David Fenton.

Services are under the direction of Allison Funeral Services, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, Texas, 77575.

Fairley

Richard Lee Fairley “Rick”, 46, of Dayton, died with his family by his side in Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 15th in Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Rick was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruby Cox, and brother, Lloyd Simmons Jr. Rick was a devoted truck driver for Grassland for over 22 years. He loved to hunt, read and spending time with his granddaughter.

Rick is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rory Fairley of Dayton; daughter, Amber Buras and husband Jeremy; granddaughter, Phoebe Buras; mother and dad, Dorothea and Lloyd Simmons Sr.; brother, Clarence Smith and wife Marie; and a host of other family and friends.

Final arrangements for Robert have been entrusted to Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main, Dayton, TX 77535.

Share

Candy Share, 62, of Dayton, died on Monday, October 11, 2010 at her residence.

A memorial ceremony will take place at a later date.

Candy was preceded in death by her husband Robert Brown. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Candy loved spending time reading.

Mrs. Share is survived by her sons, Jeff Martin and wife Rachel, Shannon McNurray, David Skuba, and Steve Brown; grandchildren, Shayla, Alexandria, Gabin and Rayden Martin.

Final arrangements for Robert have been entrusted to Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main, Dayton, TX 77535, (936)258-2678.

Walters

Christian Allen Walters, 58, of Huffman, died at his home with his family and friends by his side on Friday October 8, 2010.

Allen was born in Delhi, La. On October 30, 1951 to his parents Homer Lee and Janie Walters. He was a hard-working self-employed welder. He loved to fish. His family meant everything to him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Homer Lee and Janie Walters; son, John Schoubroek; brother, Lamar Walters; and half-brother Wayne Chestnut.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Kay Walters; sons, Kenneth Schoubroek and Aaron Walters; granddaughter, Mavinee Schoubroek; siblings, Ricky Lee Walters, Michael Victor Walters, Janie Walters; half-brothers, Ronald Lee Chestnut, Charles Ray Chestnut, Oree Chestnut, Jr.; nieces, Victoria Lemmond and Lalainia Walters; nephew, Michael “Chopper” Walters, and a host of many friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael “Chopper” Walters, Daniel Walters, Jacob Holden, Roger Johnson, David Latham, Mark Eason, Roddy Lemmond, Craig Medlen.

His family will receive friends at Allison Funeral Home on Monday October 11th from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday October 11th at Allison Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Wayne Hardin. Burial will follow at Hardin Chapel cemetery.

Fisher

Loretta Jeannette Fisher, 63, of Pasadena, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday October 8th, 2010.

She was born in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas January 17, 1947. She graduated from Hardin High School in 1964. She loved golfing and traveling. She was an artist who enjoyed oil painting and handcrafts. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Valerie Jeanette Fisher.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Dana Loyd Fisher of Pasadena; Son, Howard Fisher of Deer Park; grandsons, William Fisher and Toby Fisher; sister, Ivonne Bittick and husband Maurice of Cleveland, Texas; brother, Woody Gunter and wife Betty of Carrollton, Texas; and many numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Her family will receive friends at Allison Funeral Home on Monday October 11th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday October 12th at Allison Funeral Home at 10:00 am, officiated by Rev Tim Gruber. Burial will follow at Fairlawn cemetery.
