Patterson

Patrick O. “Pat” Patterson, 57, of Hardin, died Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Liberty Healthcare Center in Liberty.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Pat was born December 23, 1952 in Fruitvale, to parents: Alton L. Patterson and Dorothy F. Gore, a former resident of Dallas, and had resided in Hardin for 30 years. He was a retired carpenter and enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his father: Alton L. Patterson, mother: Dorothy F. Gore Portugal, brothers: Coy, Bobby, and Jerry Patterson, and sister: June Amaya. He is survived by his son: Jonathan Patterson of Hardin, sister: Delores Weichel of Sherman, nieces: Gloria Dowdell of Dayton and Elizabeth Angiuano of Kaufman, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Smith

Louis William Smith, 60, died peacefully at his home, Saturday, September 18, 2010 in Dayton after a lengthy illness. He was born June 28, 1950 in Houston, Texas to parent Herman Alvin and Geraldine Travis Smith.

He had lived in the Dayton area for the past 14 years after moving from Houston where he had been a lifelong resident. He had worked for Todd Shipyard as a welder and was well know for helping others.

He was preceded in death by father, Herman A. Smith, mother, Geraldine Travis Gray, son: Michael A. Smith and sister: Hope Cain. He is survived his wife of 30 years: Melba Gray Smith of Dayton; his daughter: Patricia L. Moffett & husband Walter of Dayton; his brother: Michael A. Smith of Liberty; his sister: Twila Smith of Liberty; 2 grandchildren: Michelle Moffett and Kathryn Smith; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family has entrusted Mr. Smith’s arrangements to Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. A service is not scheduled at this time.

Grimes

Brad Grimes, 60, of Batson, died Monday September 20, 2010 at his residence.

He was born in San Antonio TX, September 26, 1949 to Joseph Grimes and Beatrice Jordan. David had lived in Batson over thirty years, and was a Heavy Equipment operator and owner of Grimes Constructions of Batson.

he is survived by his wife Betty Grimes of Batson, sons; Bill Grimes and wife Tara of Batson, Colin Wyatt and wife Elena of Austin, Daryl Wyatt of Denver Colorado. Grandchildren Maci Elizabeth Grimes of Batson and Nikolai Wyatt of Austin.

A service of remembrance will be held Thursday September 23, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Batson with Reverend Tolbert Hudspeth officiating, interment will follow at Jordan cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday September 22, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at First Baptist Church of Batson.

Final arrangements are under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Fregia

Nellie Fregia, 86, of Hull, died Monday September 20, 2010 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

She was born in Kentucky June 17, 1924 and had lived in Hull most of her life and was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her husband E.B. Fregia.

She is survived by her Sons; Raymond Fregia and wife Myrtle of Hull., Kenny Fregia and wife Marsha of Daisetta, and Reverend Paul Fregia and wife Rita of Vidor., Brothers; Lewis Kerr Jr. and Bobby Kerr both of Kentucky. Nellie had Seven Grandchildren and Sixteen Great Grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held Thursday September 23, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E Chapel in Batson with Reverend Paul Fregia officiating, interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends Wednesday September 22, 2010 starting at 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel.

Clements

Larry Earl Clements, age 64, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Larry was born in Mobile, Alabama January 11, 1946 the son of the late Frank V. Clements and Alma Harris Clements. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching NASCAR. Larry’s true passion was spending time with his family and especially his two granddaughters. A Vietnam Veteran, Larry served in the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He worked for numerous years as a heavy equipment operator and as an overland truck driver, last working for the City of Galena Park.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Herbert Clements, as well as three sisters, Antoinette Burnet, Francis George, and Dottie Floyd.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Sharon K. Clements of Liberty, daughter Angela Martin and husband Scott of Liberty, brother Harold Clements and wife Diana of Galena Park, sisters, Betty Worrel, Mae Clements, and Deedee Dugat all of Mobile, Alabama. In addition he leaves his beloved granddaughters, Savannah and Kurstin Martin.

A memorial service will be held 2PM Friday, September 24, 2010 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis, Liberty, Texas 77575.

Rosier

James Elmo "Moe" Rosier, 84, of Thicket, died Sunday September 19, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A native and life long resident of Thicket he was a self employed Barber and a U.S. Army WWII veteran where he was an E-5 Sargent and a recipient of two Bronze Stars. He was also a life time member of Big Thicket Association, active participant in the Big Thicket Museum of Saratoga, he also gave tours of the Big Thicket Preserve area. He loved nature and taught others to do so as well. he studied and learned about nature under his uncle Lance Rosier also known as "Mr. Big Thicket", and passed that knowledge down to others. He was a member of the New Life Assembly of God church and a member of the Thicket, Votaw Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife Melinda Rosier of Thicket, Sons; John Rosser of Thicket, and Arthur Davis of Mt. Belview., Daughters; Susanne Rosser of Thicket, and Joyce Richey of Cleveland., Brothers; Raymond Rosier of Thicket, and E.P. "Skeeter" Rosier of Rye. Six Grandchildren; and five Great Great Grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday September 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at New Life Assembly of God church with Revernd Bill Campbell officiating interment will follow at Felps cemetery in Thicket.The family will be receiving friends Tuesday September 21, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the church.

Final arrangements for James Rosier are under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Phillips

Nadean Phillips, 81, of Raywood, died Sunday September 19, 2010 at Liberty-Dayton Hospital.

She was born in Raywood Texas March 1, 1929 to Gilbert G. Taylor and Emma Young. She had lived in Raywood most of her life and worked as a Carpenter Helper.

She is survived by her Son; Wayne Fregia and wife Darlene of Moss Hill, Daughters; Virginia Hill and husband Randal of Coldsprings, and Barbara Nugent and Husband Wayne of Raywood. Brother; Nolan Taylor and wife Emma of Raywood. Sisters; Serenia Fregia of Raywood, and Kathleen Berryhill of Daisetta. Numerous of Nieces, Nephews, and friends. Nadean had twenty six Grandchildren, twelve Great Grandchildren, and seven Great Great Grand Children. A service of remembrance will be Wednesday September 22, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services chapel in Batson, with Reverend Thomas Adams and Reverend Sue Hendricks officiating, Interment will follow at Oakdale cemetery in Daisetta. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday September 21, 2010 beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family chapel.

Final arrangements for Nadean Phillips are under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Hill

Denzel Walter Hill, age 11, died September 14, 2010.

Denzel was born May 15, 1999 in Fairfield, California to Jerome J. Hill and Shauvetta D. Hill. He moved to Texas at the age of two, where he became very active in school and religious activities. He loved to go on camping trips and visit places that he hadn’t seen before. He was committed person who tried to excel at whatever he was doing. He took great pride in reading scripture verses as a lector during church services. Denzel also liked to take pictures of his family, friends, and pet BJ. His memory will forever live on in his family, church community where he was dedicated member of the CCE program and various schools that he attended. He was currently a student at Cedar Bayou Junior High in Baytown, Texas.

Denzel is survived by his mother, Mrs. Shauvetta D. Williams, step-father Calvin Williams, one brother, Jacobie J. Hill, all of Baytown, Father James J. Hill of Montana, grandparents Herman J. and Clara Simien of Raywood, Frank Victorian of San Diego, California, Aunt Stephanie Davis and Uncle Norris Davis of Houston, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A wake will be held Sunday from 5-8PM Sunday September 19, 2010 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with a rosary service to be held at 7PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10AM, Monday, September 20, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Church, 411 Milam St Liberty, Texas. Burial to immediately follow in Sacred Heart cemetery in Raywood.

Serving as pallbearers, Wallace Ransom, Demond Duke, Derrick Duke, Lawrence Simien, Dwight Duke, and Norris Davis.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made in Denzel’s memory to the CCE Program at Immaculate Conception Church, 411 Milam St. Liberty, Texas 77575.

George

Lillie Mildred (Davis) George, 84, of Channelview, Texas, died Wednesday September 15, 2010 at Legend Oaks East in Houston.

A native of Mauriceville TX, she was born January 16, 1926 to Owen R. Davis and Willie Mae Kervin. she had lived in Channelview most of her life and was a self employed Barber.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents and also a brother Owen Ray Davis.

She is survived by her sons David Orville Cupps and wife Karen of Carthage, James Owen Cupps and wife Twiliah of Fulsher TX. Daughters are Iris Elaine Allen of Conroe, Darla Jan Lorfing and husband Jacob of Channelview, Bobbie Jean Lowrey and husband Terry of Cypress TX. Sister Bobbie Jean Shaw and husband Lowell of Thicket, . Brother Robert Orville Davis and wife Helen of Thicket. Grandchildren; eight and Great Grandchildren nine.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday September 18, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. with Reverend Jeff Blizzard of First Assembly of God Church of Saratoga officiating, with interment following at Felps cemetery in Thicket.

The family will be receiving friends also Saturday September 18 2010 from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at Faith & Family Chapel.

Arrangements for Lillie George are under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

LeClerc

Robert Adrian LeClerc, 82, of Dayton, died on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Funeral services have been set for 10:00 am on Saturday, September 18th in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, September 17th at the funeral home.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Laura “Lee” Yvette LeClerc; parents, George and Marie LeClerc. Robert was a retired machinist. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

Left behind to cherish his memories, daughters, Kathy Nugent of The Woodlands, TX, Christine LeClerc Prince of Friendswood, TX, Theresa Marie LeClerc of Crosby, TX and LoriAnn Thomas of House Springs, MO; grandchildren, Lynn Marie Masters and husband, Michael, Tyler Thomas, and Amber Michelle Prince; great-grandchildren, Julia Lauren Masters, Hayden Scott Masters and Brandon Robert Masters; sister, Therese LeClerc; son-in-laws, Lee Prince, Bill Thomas, Glynn Sissell and Troy Nugent.

Orn

Darren Lee Orn, 44, of Spring, TX, died Monday September, 13, 2010 at a Houston area hospital.

He served as a police officer for Galena Park, TX. Later, Darren had a career as a meat cutter. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Anita Kay Kennedy.

He is survived by his father, Curtis Orn, Sr. and wife JoAnn; step-father, Lucian Kennedy; brother, Curtis Orn, Jr. and wife Tracy; nieces, Sheena Orn, Haley Orn, Lindsay Hardy, Laurel Hardy; great niece, Amya Orn; step-siblings, Shannon Hardy, Casie Hardy, William Kennedy and Sammie Kennedy.

A gathering of friends and family will be Friday September 17th, 2010 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Sterling Funeral Home, Anahuac Chapel. The funeral service is scheduled for Friday September 17th, 2010 at 11:00 am Sterling Funeral Home, Anahuac Chapel, officiated by Pastor Mark Mullins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main, Anahuac, TX, 77514, 409-267-3456.

Flowers

Ross S. Flowers, 76, of Binger, OK, died on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Graveside Services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 13th in Brackin cemetery in Honey Island, TX. A gathering of family and friends was from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 12th at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. He was retired from Port Arthur ISD. Ross was also a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Yukon OK. and the Pioneer Country Walk to Emmaus.

Mr. Flowers Is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Flowers; daughter, Sharon Flowers; sisters, Anna Dunlap and Eula Clark; adopted brothers, Jerry Wright, Sam Horse and Richard Kauahquo; adopted daughters, Patti Mitchell, Dana Smith and Jodi Kauahquo; grandchildren, Charlotte Bointy, Sarah Kauahquo, Trent Mitchell, Sasha Bilyeu, Natasha Shook, Latasha Smith and Sonia Hernandez; and many other family and friends.

Singleton

Lillie Singleto, 89, of Liberty, formerly of Batson died Saturday September 11, 2010 at Magnolia Place Health Care in Liberty.

She was born in Texas on January, 11, 1921 to Lee Sanders and Emma Perkins. She was an homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter Emma Shane and husband Jim of Liberty, Lillie Faye Messer of Batson. Son Darrell Singleton and wife Judy of Nederland. Numerous grandchildren, Great grandchildren and Great Great grandchildren.

Cremation under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E., Batson, TX.
