Donna Gail Pitts Englett, 66, of Hull, died Friday September 3, 2010 at her residence.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, she had lived in Hull for about forty years and was a Cook for Country Emporium and Diner in Moss Hill. She is survived by her husband, Floyd Englett of Hull, son, James Englett and wife, Lynne of Mobile, Alabama. Daughters, Donna Marie Aguilar and husband Jose of Mobile, Alabama, Jeannie Lynn Johnson and husband James of New Caney, Bertha Lee Peters of Mobile, Alabama. Sister Elaine Sanford of Golden Colorado. Grandchildren; thirteen Great grandchildren; eleven.

A Graveside service will be held Wednesday September 8, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. At the Moss Hill cemetery in Moss Hill.

Bennett

Allene Helen Bennett, 77, of Moss Hill died Saturday September 4, 2010 in Houston.

A native of Marlin TX, she had lived in Moss Hill, and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her son Johnny Lee Bennett Jr, daughter Kellie Bennett, sister Lois Caskey. Survivors are husband, Johnny Bennett of Moss Hill, son, William Bennett of California, daughters, Lisa Bennett of Conroe, Hellon Bennett of Batson, and Linda Ratzlaff of Round Rock TX. Brothers, Alvin Schraeder and Bud Schraeder both of Seminole TX, sister, Janice Cobb of Madisonville, TX. Grandchildren, fourteen and Great grandchildren, sixteen.

A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday September 7, 2010 at 10:00A.M. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Moss Hill, with Reverend Carlton Bailey and Reverend Richard Vaughan officiating, interment will follow at Resthaven cemetery in Silsbee.

The family will be receiving friends Monday, September 6, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. also at Mount Calvary Church.

Final arrangements for Allene Bennett are under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Woodral

Ruth R. “Bailey” Woodral, 85, of Liberty formerly of Votaw died Thursday September 2, 2010 at Liberty Healthcare Center.

Born in Honey Island July 19, 1925 she was an homemaker and was Pentecostal by faith. She loved Church singing, sewing and her roses.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gordy Bailey and Omie Broom Bailey, her loving husband whom she married June 19, 1942 Lester Woodral Sr, who left her in 1986 in death. Son; Lester Woodral Jr, and two brothers; Jerry and Paul Bailey. Sisters; Clethia Bailey, Margie Osborne and Patsy Nugent.

Survivors are daughters; Georgia Nell Thompson of Cleveland, Mary Ann Raley and husband Glen of Anahuac, and Marilyn Linton of Hardin. Brothers; Travis Bailey, George “Ray Buck” Bailey both of Votaw. Fifteen Grandchildren, and numerous Great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday September 4, 2010 at 10:00A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. with Reverend Bobby Crawford officiating.

Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends Friday September 3, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Faith & Family.

Final arrangements for Ruth Woodral are under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Sanders

Donna Sanders, 56, of Beaumont, died Monday August 30, 2010 in Beaumont.

She was born August 20, 1955 in Pasadena, Texas to Edseil Thomason and Pauline Johnson. She had lived in Beaumont and was a Homemaker.

She is survived by her husband; Steve Sanders of Beaumont, TX., Sons; Joys Shelburne of Beaumont, TX., and Thomas Butler Jr. of Deweyville TX. Daughter; Dewanna Eagleton of Beaumont, TX. and Brother; Charles Shelton of Bastrop, TX. She had 13 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday September 4, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel.

Cremation handled under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Fancher

Odessie Chandler Fancher, 92 of, Anahuac, died Tuesday August 31, 2010.

She was born October 21, 2010 to her parents Robert and Bessie Chandler. She was a member of the Ladies Garden Club of Anahuac. She was a 68 year member of the First Baptist Church of Anahuac, where she was very active.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Fancher, and her son, Jerry Fancher.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Huebner; grandsons, Leroy Lynn Huebner, Larry Leon Huebner; great grandson, Larry Leon Huebner, Jr., siblings, Ernest Chandler of Houston, Charles Chandler and wife Nelda of Kingsport, TN, Robert Chandler and wife Carol of Kirbyville, TX, Belma Brude of Tyler, TX, Pat Martin of Buna, TX and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Her family will receive friends at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac Thurday September 2, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday September 3, at The First Baptist Church of Anahuac, located at 405 S. Magnolia, Anahuac, officiated by Rev. Gary Hillyard, Rev. Albert Billingsley and Bobby Scherer.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main, Anahuac, TX 77514,

Psencik

Martha Marie Psencik, 93, of Dayton, died on Tuesday August 31, 2010, surrounded by her family.

She was born November 11, 1916 in East Bernard, TX to her parents Joseph and Caroline Lesikar. She was a member of Crosby Brethren Church. She loved to bake, quilt, and tend her flower garden. She loved tend to her dogs, Nicky, Sandy and Shelby.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Milo Psencik; great granddaughter, Faith Psencik; Son-in-law, Henry Lyrock, and all of her siblings.

She is survived by her children, Louise Lyrock, Edwin Psencik and wife Eva Mae, Martha Jones and husband Lawrence, Walter Psencik and wife Joanie; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.

Her family will receive friends at Sterling Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The funeral service is scheduled for Friday 10:00 A.M. at Sterling Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Larry Koslousky. Burial will follow at Palms Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lawrence Jones Jr., Robert Jones, Travis Psencik, Glenn Psencik, James Psencik and Rusty Stephens. Honorary pallbearers are Bo Price, Wesley Hawkins, Brandon Myers and Colton Psencik.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main, Dayton, TX, 77535.

McDonald

Homer Huey McDonald Jr., 72, of Liberty, died August 26, 2010 at the Liberty Healthcare Center.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2010, from 5pm until 8pm at Allison Funeral Service, Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at 2pm, at Allison Funeral Service with Reverend Charles Pierce officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Homer was born on December 17, 1937 to parents, Homer Huey McDonald Sr. and Essie Williams McDonald. Homer was a retired Building Superintendant with Liberty County. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Liberty. He enjoyed hunting and spending time at the deer camp with family and friends.

Mr. McDonald is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Vallie McDonald. He is survived by one daughter, Virginia Jean McDonald, two sons, Jerry L. McDonald and Terry S. McDonald, two brothers, Bobby McDonald and Donald McDonald, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas 77575.

Gilfillian

Henry James Gilfillian Sr., 82, of Daisetta, died on August 29, 2010, at his home.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2010, from 5pm until 8pm at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:00am in Guedry cemetery, Batson, Texas with Reverend Wm. “Bill” Mosley officiating.

Mr. Gilfillian was born on December 29, 1927 in Daisetta, Texas to parents William Henry Gilfillian and Jean Wallace Gilfillian. He graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School in 1945

He married Carolyn Virginia Hundley on March 12, 1950 in Louisiana and was a loving and devoted husband for 60 years. Mr. Gilfillian owned and operated G & G Oil Well Service for 35 years, and was a rice farmer for 25 years. He was the President and Chairman of the Board of Hull State Bank for over 20 years. He was a member of the Texas Cattle Raisers Association, and a member of the Daisetta Fire Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters; Bernice LeNormand, Betty Jo Shelburne and Juanita Smith. Mr. Gilfillian is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gilfillian, one son, Henry J. Gilfillian Jr. and wife Cindy, three grandsons, Henry J. Gilfillian III and his wife, Brandi, Harrison Gilfillian and Hunter Gilfillian, sister, Rosa Lee Landry and husband Allen, Elmo Arceneaux was a lifelong friend and employee for 62 years.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that contributions be made to the Alzhiemers Association, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd, Houston, Texas 77030. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas 77575.

Carrington

Herbert Carrington was born July 28, 1936 to George and Melissa (Lewis) Carrington Sr. of Anahuac, Texas.

He attended George Washington Carver in Anahuac, where he graduated in Class of 1956. He played Basketball. (center guard) He was a licensed chemical mach. Employed at Keating Chev. For numerous years. He was also employed at American Rice Growers, Raywood TX. He loved to do various odd jobs and hobbies. Such as Rodeoing, welding, working cows along with his close friend J.V. Speighs.

He was married to Camilla Mae (Speighs) Carrington on April 8, 1959 to this union two kids were born. Sandra Dee Daniels Speighs and Camilla June Raymond.

He grew up at St. James United Methodist Church at an early age. In later years he became a member and was Baptist under J.C. Banks at the Sunlight M.B. Church in Hankamer. Where he served on Usher Board and was an active member for many years. He later moved to Freeport, TX, where he married Ellen Carrington.

Herbert was proceed in death by his parents, George and Mallissa; three brothers, George Jr., Robert Vern (R.V.) and Monty Humphrey; three sisters, Clora Meekins, Elvira Humphrey and Corrie McNeal; one grandson, Brodrick James Daniels. He leaves to cherish all his loving memories of his life: wife, Ellen Carrington; sisters, Marie Charles of Anahuac and Mary Gonzales of Kerrville, TX; three children, Sandra (Etus) Speights Jr. and Camilla (Walter) Raymond Jr.; one son, Keith Moore; two stepdaughters, Erica (Rayfield) Johnson and Alicia (Micheal) Townsend; one stepson, Avery (Rhonda) Lewis; five grandsons:, Lamasio Daniels, Rickey Coates Jr., David Coates, Cody Johnson and Wyatt Raymond; one granddaughter, Mary Ann Childress; step grandchildren, Kieth, Eric, Brushaun, Brittany, Torey, Jasmine, Treston, Marqurta, Michelle, Micheal, Tefone, Jada, Avery Jr., Cameron, Dejia, Imoni; one great grandson, Jahzara and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Special love for Shirleen Wilson and Vannessa Shields Clora Humphrey, Betty Humphrey, Louetta Culpeper, Joesphene McNeil, Clifton Leda and George and Pam.

All caregivers at Anahuac Heath Care Center and Laporte Nursing Home.

Final arrangements for Herbert have been entrusted to Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main, Anahuac, Texas 77514.

Spencer

Barbara Ruth “Bobby” Spencer, 76, of Baytown, died Monday August 30, 2010 at Kingwood Medical Center in Humble.

Born June 20, 1934 in Port Arthur Texas to Clovis Boutin and Georgia Sellers she was a homemaker and had lived in Baytown many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Spencer.

Bobby is survived by her Son; Charles Spencer of Rose Sharon Texas, Carlton Spencer of Point Blank Texas. Brother; J.D. Boutin of Dayton.

Cremation service handled under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services.

Besch

Alfred Lane “Al” Besch, died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at M. D. Anderson. He had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He is a native of Daisetta, Texas, where he was born on November 12, 1937. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Evans Besch and Alfred Besch, and maternal grandparents Lane and Nettie Dabney.

Al is survived by his wife, Brenda, of Humble, Texas, sons; Mike and wife Johnna Besch of Garwood, TX., Bobby and wife Julie Besch of Anchorage, Alaska, and daughter Jeri and husband Doug Pickerel of Anchorage, Alaska, and Brian Besch of Dayton, TX. Also a sister Linda and husband Lee Gruver of Daisetta, TX., and brother Roy Besch of Dayton, TX. 5 grandchildren, Matt and Molly Besch, Katie and Mike Pickerel, and Makenna Besch.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Aug. 30th at First Baptist Church, Daisetta, TX. beginning at 10 a.m. Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble handled the cremation of his remains.

Al was a 1956 graduate of Hull-Daisetta High School where he earned football scholarships to Tyler Jr. College and Lamar University, where he received his undergraduate degree. He was a teacher, coach, and administrator in both Texas and Alaska. He was a commercial fisherman for salmon in Alaska and a licensed pilot. He was also a licensed realtor for Century 21 Melrose & Co. in Humble.

His passions were fishing, hunting, and being w/friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and Hull-Daisetta Golden Oldies Scholarship Fund.
