Jones

Keith Elmo Jones “Jonesy”, 54, of Anahuac, Texas, died at his home Monday, August 10, 2009.

A visitation will be held at Sterling Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main Anahuac, Texas on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 5pm until 8pm and on Saturday August 15, 2009 from 9am until 11am. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00am, August 15, 2009 at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Jonesy was an independent rig welder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and his greatest love was to teach his children how to hunt, fish and camp. His best “fighting” buddy, Nanny Roo, will deeply miss their wonderful conversations.

Keith was born on March 29, 1955 to parents Ernest Ray Jones and Jacqueline Besaw. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Ray Jones, brother, Kelly Jones, sister, Katherine Jones, grandmother, Addie Mae Lusk Jones, and Pit Bull “best friend” Rip “Riparoo”. Survivors are; wife, Karen Jones, mother, Jacqueline Besaw and husband Bob, daughter, Erica Jones, sons, Austin Jones and wife Tiffany, Ln.Cpl. Clay Hanf and wife Kaci, and Devon Jones, grandchildren, Kadin, Trevor, Landon, Brylee and Colt, brother, Kyle Jones, step-mother, Wanda Jones, step-sisters, Charlene Cantu and Virginia Roe, step-brother Richard Dommert and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main, Anahuac, Texas.

Delzell

Julia Mae (Dagle) Delzell went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2009.

Born in Daisetta, Texas, on September 16, 1920, was a lifetime resident of Daisetta and a graduate of Hull-Daisetta in 1939. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Daisetta, Texas; a member of Hull-Daisetta Golden Oldies, and retired from Hull-Daisetta ISD as a secretary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene J. Delzell; daughter, Eugenia (Delzell) Roach; parents, Francis and Bessie (Fregia) Dagle and Great Granddaughter, Madison Roach.

Survivors include her Granddaughter, Elizabeth (Cissy) Villarreal and husband Henry of Daisetta; Grandsons, John Vernon Lowe, stationed in Virginia for the U.S. Army, Joseph Andrew Roach, Jr. and wife Karen of Daisetta, James Allen Roach of Daisetta; Great-Grandsons, Nathan Glen Lunday, Jr., Colton and Braydon Roach, all of Daisetta; Great-Granddaughters, Ashton Pescador and husband Jose, and Alyssa Villarreal, both of Smith Point; Brother, Troy Dagle and wife Linda of Rusk, Texas; Sisters, Opal Cessna of Hardin and Ruth Hayward of Lake Charles, La; Sister-in-Law, Joyce Martin and husband Dan of Chattanooga, TN; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, August 13th from six until eight o’clock in the evening at First Baptist Church in Daisetta. A service of remembrance will be held at ten o’clock in the morning Friday, August 14th at First Baptist Church in Daisetta with interment to follow in Oakdale cemetery. Arrangements for Julia have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas 77575.

McAllister

Douglas Glenn McAllister, age 58, died suddenly on Friday, August 7, 2009 at his home.

He was born in Houston, Texas, October 21, 1950 the son of the late Earl Wayne and Francis Mildred McAllister. He moved to the Dayton area in 1977 from Florida. A graduate of the Gulf Coast Community College he worked for Biogenic Science for over twenty-five years. He played guitar and enjoyed spending time at the beach or fishing. Douglas was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a sister Gail Ann McAllister.

He leaves behind his children Beverly Ann McAllister-Brown and her husband Will of Panama City Beach, FL, Stacy Lynn McAllister-Rozar and her husband Jim of Tallahasee, FL, sisters Gaye Neal of Dayton, Sandy McAllister, Beverly McAllister, and his twin brother Dennis McAllister. He also leaves his beloved nieces and nephews, Alicia, Christian, Boyd, Brad, Jennifer, Kevin, Suzy, Matthew, Ellen, Jacob, Joey, Jason, Jonathan, and Jimmy.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-8pm at the Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St. Dayton. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1pm at the funeral home with Rev. Randy Piatt and Rev. Cliff Powell officiating.

Douglas

Dorothy Jeanne Osburn Douglas, 56, of Houston, died Thursday August 6, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston.

Born to Johnny Lee Osburn and Lajeanne Wooten Osburn in Beaumont TX. Dorothy was a Certified X-Ray technician for many years, and then later became a MQSA Federal and State inspector for Mammography.

She was preceded in death by her Father; Johnny Lee Osburn.

Survivors are her Mother; Lajeanne Wooten Osburn of Marlin TX, Sons; Edward Douglas and wife Tonya of Alanta GA, Daniel Douglas and wife Jennifer of Oklahoma City, OK, Daughter, Michelle Douglas and spouse Johnny of Stafford TX, Brother, Michael Osburn and wife Bena of Austin TX. and ten Grandchildren and host of numerous Aunts, Uncles and loving friends who will miss her greatly.

A service of remembrance will be held Monday August 10, 2009 at 10:00A.M. At Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. Batson, with interment to follow at Old Hardin cemetery in Kountze.

The family will be receiving friends Sunday August 9, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. Until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Arrangements for Dorothy Douglas are by Faith and Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Staton

James Donald “JD” Staton, 17, of Vidor, died Wednesday evening, August 5, 2009 in Beaumont, Texas.

He was born April 8, 1992 to parents: Kelly and Sandra O’Neal Staton in Angleton, Texas. He had lived in Vidor this past year after moving from Bremond. JD was attending school in Vidor and worked at Popeye’s. He loved being with his family especially the kids. JD enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being around animals.

A celebration of JD’s life will be 12 noon, Sunday, August 9, 2009, at Shannon’s home, 5419 Second Street, Crosby, Texas 77532.

James was preceded in death by his grandfather: Larry D. Staton and his great- grandmother: Doris Fisher; his great grandparents: Doris Fisher and Lowell Staton. He is survived by his father: Kelly Staton and wife Tonya of Vidor; his mother: Sandra Dolph and husband Kevin of Lake Jackson; his brother: Kelly Michael Staton of Lake Jackson; his sisters: Courtney and Stefi Staton both of Vidor; his grandparents: Jean Staton of Vidor, Janie Melcer of Cameron, Roger and Marion Pate of Baytown, Wes and Linda Lanham of Cameron; his aunt: Shannon Borom & husband Shane of Crosby; his uncle: Larry Staton of Baytown; and his fiancée: Courtney Bohler of Vidor.

Williamson

Luella Williamson, 88, of Hardin, died Friday August 7, 2009 at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

A Native of Daisetta, she lived in Hardin for 65 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors are Son; Harvey Garland Williamson and wife Patty of Hardin, Daughters; Carolyn Ann Wakefield of Hardin, Darlene Alford of Hardin. Grandchildren are Charlie Wakefield of Hardin, Cliff Williamson of Liberty, and Chris Williamson of Hardin. Great Grandchildren: Colton Williamson of Liberty, Reagan Williamson of Hardin and Cooper Williamson of Hardin.

A service of remembrance will be held Monday August 10, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. Batson with interment to follow at Moss Hill cemetery in Liberty. The family will be receiving friends Sunday August 9, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. Until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Arrangements for Luella Williamson are by Faith and Family Funeral Service of Batson, TX.

Hopper

Robert J. “Jerry” Hopper, 68, of Dayton, died Friday, August 7, 2009, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral; Home in Dayton.

Jerry was born June 24, 1941 in Katy, to parents; Jackson C. and Nina I. Brinkley Hopper, was a former resident of Conroe, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past four years. He was a veteran of the US Army, retired heavy equipment operator, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Hopper was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters: Dawn Cagle of Atascocita, Cheryl Goodwin and husband Dan of Dayton, and Dana Lawson of Slocum, brother: James Hopper of Conroe, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

McElvany

Charlie Jo Heider McElvany, 79, of Dayton, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 in Liberty, Texas.

She was born August 17, 1929 in Daisetta to parents, Charlie William and Ella Sarah Ott Heider. She was a lifetime resident of Dayton where she attended Dayton Schools, graduating with the Class of 1946.

She continued her education at Massey Business College, worked for Kennedy Insurance and John Otto. Mrs. McElvany was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Women’s Sunday School Class, and former member of the Lambda Alpha Sigma. She enjoyed oil painting, reading, cooking, traveling and having coffee with her friends. Most of all she loved her family and being with her grandchildren.

Services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the First Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Trousdale officiating. Interment will follow at Linney cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. McElavny was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years, Bobby G. McElvany and two infant sisters. She is survived by her son: Gary Lynn McElvany and wife Jennifer of Morristown, New Jersey; her daughter: Donna Kay Klimitchek and husband Dennis of Dayton; four grandchildren: Allen Klimitchek of Dayton, Sarah Klimitchek of Dayton, Kathryn McElvany of Morristown, New Jersey, and Matthew McElvany of Morristown, New Jersey; her brother: Earl Heider of Dayton; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Rozell

Dennis James Rozell, 50, of Groves, died Wednesday August 5, 2009 at The Renaissance Hospital in Groves.

A native of Hobbs NM, he had lived in Groves and was an Ordained Minister.

He is survived by his wife; Sallie Rozell of Groves, Parents Robert and Lovelle Rozell of Lumberton, Daughter, Lena Hinton and husband Mike of Dacula GA, Brother; Tim Rozell and wife Debbie of Sour, Lake. Sister, Melissa Tweedel and husband Terry of Lumberton. Nephews, Bobby Tweedel of Lumberton, Timothy Rozell of Beaumont. Nieces, Chelsea and Holly Rozell of Sour Lake, Jessica Tweedel of Lumberton and Great-niece; Jayci Rozell of Sour Lake. Grandchildren; Tyler, Nikki, and Ryan Hinton who is on his second tour of duty in Iraq.

A service of remembrance will be held Sunday August 9, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral services 40847 Hwy 105 E. Batson with interment to follow at Rosedale cemetery in Sour lake.

The family will be receiving friends Saturday August 8, 2009 from 6:00 P.M. Until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Arramgements for Mr. Rozell are by Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson, TX.

Gordon

Walter Lee “W.L.” Gordon, 63, of Anahuac, Texas, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009.

He was born on July 17, 1946 to Robert Mayes Gordon, Jr. and Thelma Lee (Strahan) Gordon in Anahuac, Texas. W.L. drove truck for MBCI for 16 years and drove with MW McCurdy before that. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and went to all of their Longhorn Cattle shows.

W.L. is preceded in death by his father and his aunt, Christine Pryor. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mary Gordon; son, David Gordon of Anahuac; daughter, Stacy Drake and husband Joe of Anahuac; grandchildren, Brittany and Phillip Drake of Anahuac; mother, Thelma Simmons of Conroe; brothers, Robert Louis Simmons of Groveton, Sam Simmons of LaPorte, Edward Reavis of Texas City, Eugene Reavis and wife Kristy of Anahuac, and Vernon Reavis and wife Marsha of Tomball; sisters, Linda Northlich and husband John of New Waverly, Paula Elledge and husband Lee Roy of Beach City, Sue Crawford and husband Jess of Willis, Mattie Pennington and husband Carlos of Conroe, Pattie Hite and husband Chester of New Waverly, Mary Beth Stengler and husband Craig of Anahuac, and Charlotte Cooley and husband Butch of Anahuac; sister-in-law, Jessie Martin of Highlands; and numerous more relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be from six until eight o’clock in the evening Friday August 7th at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Anahuac on Saturday August 8th at ten o’clock in the morning with interment to follow in Anahuac cemetery. Arrangements for W.L. have been entrusted to Sterling Funeral Home 1201 S Main St Anahuac, Texas 77514.

Davis

Ronald E. Davis, Jr., 30, of Deer Park, died Sunday, August 2, 2009, in LaPorte.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2009, at the First Baptist Church of Anahuac with graveside services at Anahuac cemetery following thereafter.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, at the church. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Ronald was born August 27, 1978 in Pasadena, to parents; Ronald E., Sr. and Janet Lee Ellisor Davis, and resided in the Deer Park area. He was a chemical loader for DOW Chemical in Channelview and had attended Lee College. He enjoyed talking on the phone, practical jokes, and will be remembered as an outgoing person.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his mother: Janet L. Ellisor Davis and grandfather: James Davis.

He is survived by his daughters: Alexis Davis of Anahuac and Jayda Staggs of Baytown, son: Camden Davis of Houston, father: Ronald E. Davis, Sr. and wife Melissa of Deer Park, brother: Michael A. Davis and wife Angela of Anahuac, step-brother: Joshua Wright of Deer Park, step-sisters: Starla Eggelston of Deer Park and Meredith Eggelston of Deer Park, companion: Tracy Staggs of Houston, grandmothers: Barbara Ellisor of Anahuac and Nancy Davis of LaPorte, uncles: Matt Ellisor and wife Violet of Anahuac and Jeff Ellisor and wife Renee of Pasadena, cousins: Adam Ellisor of Anahuac, Charlie Ellisor of Anahuac, Jeff Ellisor of Pasadena, Nick Tolleson of Angleton, Candice Ellisor of Pasadena, Brittany Ellisor of Pasadena, and Michal D. Roy Harrison of Baytown, niece: Caitlyn Davis of Anahuac, nephew: Michael Davis, Jr. of Anahuac, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Hajovsky

Albert Emil Hajovsky, 86, formerly of Dayton, died July 26, 2009 in Foster City, CA.

Albert was born Aug. 5, 1923 to Emil & Bessie Hajovsky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-Lawrence Hajovsky; sister-Betty Bugg.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jan; three daughters, Karen and husband Ron, Nancy and husband B.C., and Connie; 4 grandchildren all of California; sister-Lillian (Lulu) Rucka of Crosby; sister-in-law-Dorothy Hajovsky of Liberty and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Albert grew up in the Dayton area, graduating with the Dayton High Class of 1941. After serving in the Navy, he moved to California and worked for Sweda Management many years before retiring. In his later years fishing and hunting became his life. He enjoyed his family and friends, especially visiting during the Dayton Pioneer Students’ Reunion each year. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Sansom

Frances E. Wilkerson Sansom, 96, formerly of Dayton, died, Friday, July 31, 2009 in Corpus Christi.

Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Frances was born April 5, 1913 in Dayton, to parents; James W. and Minnie I. Peterson Wilkerson, was a homemaker, member of the First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi and Order of Eastern Star, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Sansom was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Roy Sansom, son-in-law: Dr. James Bailey, brother: Oscar Wilkerson, and sister: Eula McLaren. She is survived by her daughter: Glenda Bailey of Corpus Christi, son: James K. Sansom of Palestine, grandchildren: Michelle Bolton of Palestine, Dr. Michael Bailey of Corpus Christi, Jay Sansom of Austin, and Jody Sansom of Austin, six great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
