Berry

John Clarence Berry 78, of Raywood, died at his home on July 29, 2009.

Services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Allison Funeral Service 2 P.M. A gather of family and friends will be held Friday, July 31 from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

John was born in Copiah County, MS on May 26, 1931 to parents, Lee W. and Ina Berry. He liked to travel, tell a good story, collect rocks and loved the outdoors. He was owner of the Berry Natural Gas Company. He was in the Navy for four years and was stationed in Key West, Florida.

John is preceded death by his parents, brother, Lee Will Berry, and sister, Hattie Belle Harris. He is survived by Wanda Tuttle Berry; sons, Joel Berry, Justin Berry, and John Berry Jr.; daughters, Janna Berry Raven and husband Morton, Jeanna Keys and husband Charles, Joni Keaton and husband Mike and Donna Roberts; sisters, Joan Smith and Sue Neal. Grandchildren, Charles Keys, Amanda Keaton, Amber Berry, Kristen Berry, Adam Roberts and Mark Roberts also survive.

Arrangements were under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis Street, Liberty, Texas 77575.

Jackson

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Roscoe Terrell Jackson, 77, of Double Bayou, Texas, on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church, Anahuac, Texas, at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Father Neil Arce, pastor, celebrant, with burial in Mt. Zion Baptist cemetery, Double Bayou.

A native of Double Bayou, Texas he attended elementary and high school at Double Bayou High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving honorably in the Korean Conflict. He was employed with Brown & Root, the Dawson Ranches, Anahuac ISD, and was owner and operator of the historic Mayes Grocery, renamed Jackson’s Grocery.

He died, on July 22, 2009 at his daughter’s residence in Houston.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.

He is survived by his daughter: Connie Gaye Jackson of Houston, one son: Loye James Jackson also of Houston; one granddaughter, Pia Jé Singleton; three sisters: Emily Jackson Humphrey of Phoenix, Arizona, Judy Jackson of Washington, D. C. and Frankie Jackson Long of Houston and a host of other relatives and friends.

Boyer

Lloyd Duane Boyer, age 76, of Dayton, died July 28, 2009 in Liberty.

He was born in Bayard, NE, September 27, 1932, the son of the late Aaron and Dorothy Boyer. Lloyd graduated from Bayard High School and later went on to join the Navy in 1951. He was discharged in 1955. He served aboard the U.S.S. Oreck. Lloyd married Shirley Weideman, April 4, 1953. Together they had three children. He lived and worked in Denver for over forty years. He was a member of Liberty, Texas VFW Post #5621, Bayard, NE American Legion and Cootie Club Silver Dollar Pup Tent #1 in Denver, CO. he was also a member of Valley Lutheran Church in Denver, CO.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves behind his wife Shirley, sister Delores Kimbrough and her husband Dayle of Bayard, NE, son Kelly Boyer and his wife Renee of Yankton, SD, daughter Dorinda Markley and her husband Micheal of Youngsville, LA, and a son Frederick Boyer of Dayton, Texas. In addition he leaves nine grandchildren and one great grandson.

A graveside service will be held Saturday 10AM at Palms Memorial Park, HWY 146 Dayton, Texas. Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Dayton, Texas 77535 has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Bailey

Lucille Ulma (Morris) Bailey, age 94, died Friday July 24, 2009 in the Woodlands.

She was born in Manny, LA, April 12, 1915 the daughter of the late Lee Howard Morris and Nellie Word Morris. Lucy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Liberty and a member of the Eastern Star. She wed in Liberty, December 7, 1935 to her beloved husband Elwood Bailey who preceded her.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers Douglas Morris and Leon Morris as well as her sisters, Genevieve Wright and Lilbourne Senesac.

She leaves her sons Tommy Bailey, and James Lee Bailey and his wife Vivian, and two daughters Clo Nell Lester and Henry Jo Dryer and her husband Clarence, a brother Bo Morris and his wife Bonnie. In addition she leaves nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday July 26, 2009 from 5-8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis, Liberty, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 2pm July 27, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Liberty, with burial to follow in Cooke Memorial cemetery.

Hollingsworth

Albert Jackson Hollingsworth, 67, of Liberty, died Sunday July 26, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Born in Daisetta TX, he had live in Liberty most of his life and was a Tool Pusher for H.E. Booth work over Riggs of Liberty.

Albert is survived by his wife of 36 years. Frances Hollingsworth of Liberty, Sons; Terry Wayne Hollingsworth, Robert Dean Hollingsworth of Liberty, Larry Allen Hollingsworth of Houston, Albert Jackson Hollingsworth of Cleveland. Brothers; Leon Hollingsworth of Liberty, Ronnie Hollingsworth of Houston. Sisters; Elsie Whitmire of Dayton, Anna Lock of Daisetta. Grandchildren; 2.

A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday July 29, 2009 at 10:00A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E, Batson with interment to follow at Oakdale cemetery in Daisetta.

The family will be receiving friends Tuesday July 28, 2009 beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

Yeater

Stephanie Marie Yeater, age 52, of Hardin, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in Baytown.

She was born in Steubenville, OH, July 17, 1957 the daughter of the late Orlando Coppa and Helen Sawon Coppa. Stephanie worked as a manager for H&R Block in Crosby and Atascosita for the past ten years. She was a compassionate individual, who was a good mother and wife. She loved to spend time with her family especially her beloved grandchildren.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of twenty-nine years, David Yeater. Her twin sons Jacob Yeater and his wife Misty of Deer Park, Joshua Yeater and his wife Courtney of Liberty, Sister Barbara Neal and her husband Charles, Brothers, Richard Coppa and his wife Sarah, Paul Coppa and his wife Irene, Jimmy Coppa and his wife Katie, and Michael Coppa and his wife Dona. In addition she leaves her three grandchildren and one on the way, Ryan, Savannah, and Zachery as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday July 26, 2009 from 5-8pm at North Main Baptist Church, HWY 146, Liberty, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held Monday July 27, 2009 at 2pm at the Church. Allison Funeral Services, 1101 N. Travis has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Greak

Joe Ernest Greak, age 83, died Monday, July 20, 2009 in Lubbock, Texas.

Joe was born in Raywood, Texas, September 12, 1925 to his late parents Henry J. and Nannie Carter Greak. He retired after twenty-five years of service from Texas Gulf Sulphur as a lineman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, J.W. Greak, Gus Greak, John Greak, Madoline Smith, Bonita Hankamer, Aline Sherman.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of sixty-one years Agnes Greak. Sons, Joe Greak and his wife Betsy of Waco, Texas, Nolan Greak and his wife Karen of Lubbock, Texas, David Greak of Liberty, Jimmy Greak and his wife Denise of Hawkins, Texas and Louis Greak and his wife Tommie of Humble. He also leaves his eleven grandchildren, Stephen Greak and his wife Juilann, Angela McKinney and her husband Leo, Daniel Greak and his wife Susan, Jennifer Cannaday and her husband Kevin, Nicole, Alauna, Garrett, and Patrick Greak, Michael Brown, Corey Greak and his wife Michelle, Justin Greak and his wife Christina. In addition he also leaves ten great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church or to the Liberty Senior Activity Center. The Allison Funeral Service has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Fowler

Gary Lynn (Cooter Bill, 2 day) Fowler, 53, of Saratoga, died Monday July 20, 2009 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Funeral service was held Thursday July 23, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. At Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105. E. Batson, with burial to follow at Village Mills cemetery in Village Mills.

Visitation was held Wednesday July 22, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. Until 9:00 P.M. At Faith & Family Funeral services.

Born in Kountze he had lived in Saratoga and was a Logger.

Survivors are daughters; Shanna Zimmerman and husband Mark of Silsbee, Susan Fregia and husband Scottie of Hardin, Rachel Fregia and husband Gary of Saratoga, Laken Mack of Lake Charles. Brothers; Robert and Raymond Fowler of Saratoga, Curtis “ Shorty” Fowler of Orange. Grandchildren; ten also special friend; Ester V, and a host of loving friends and extended family.

Stevenson

Anna May Gilbert Stevenson, 69, of Dayton, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 in Baytown after an extended illness.

She was born May 20, 1940 in Minersville, Pennsylvania to parents Michael F. and Constance A. Gilbert. She had been a resident of Dayton for the past 12 years, previously of Baytown where she had lived since 1970. Mrs. Stevenson was a member of the First Baptist Church, enjoyed church activities, bible study, reading, sewing, knitting and crocheting.

Memorial Service for Mrs. Stevenson will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Trousdale officiating.

Mrs. Stevenson was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children: John Joseph Stevenson, III; son: Patrick Michael Stevenson; brother: Ed Gilbert and sister: Rita Gayeski. She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Hamm & husband Scott of League City; Connie Whiteside and husband Jody of Dayton; her sons: Ed Stevenson and wife Donna of Beaumont, Frank Stevenson & Michelle of Dayton, Danny Stevenson and wife Lisa of Tomball, and Jackie Stevenson and wife Julie of Spring; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bruce

Roy Gene Bruce, 68, of Devers, Texas, died Monday, July 20, 2009.

He was born on July 30, 1940 to Louis and Evelyn Bruce in Harlingen, Texas. Roy worked for AT&T for forty years. He was part of the first crew that spliced fiber optics. He had a great sense of humor and a quick whit. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and collecting stamps and coins. He never said a bad word about anyone and always looked on the positive side.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Linda Bruce; sons, Mark Bruce and Michael Bruce of Devers; daughter, Merry Bruce of Lumberton; grandchildren, Robert Lee Bruce and Roy David Bruce; brother, Wray Bruce of San Angelo; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be from twelve until two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, July 22nd at Allison Funeral Service. A service of remembrance will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon with interment to follow in Rice Belt cemetery in Devers. Final arrangements for Roy have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service 1101 N Travis St Liberty, Texas 77575.

King

Lena Mae Cline King, 79, of Anahuac, Texas, died Sunday, July 19th in Beaumont, Texas.

She was born on June 4th, 1932 in Hankamer, Texas to Ernest and Madie Cline. Lena enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing and cross-stitching. She made beautiful furniture and had a wonderful flower garden. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Anahuac and often went on mission trips to Mexico and even Cuba.

Lena is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her loving husband, George King; son, Wayne King of Hankamer; sister, Peggy Davidson; brother, Floyd Cline; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac on Tuesday, July 21st from five until eight o’clock in the evening. The service of remembrance will be held at ten o’clock in the morning Wednesday, July 21st at First Baptist Church in Anahuac with burial to follow in Anahuac cemetery.

Lena’s family has entrusted Sterling Funeral Home 1201 S Main St Anahuac, Texas 77514 with her final arrangements.

Harmon

Bertie Lois McDonald Harmon, 93, died peacefully in a local nursing home on Friday, July 17, 2009, with her family by her side.

When we look at our Mother, we see her beautiful white hair, her furrowed brow from years of unending pain and her wrinkled hands from years of hard work. We look more closely and see her determination, her strength and her kind and loving heart. She loved her Lord and she loved her family and friends. She was always ready to drive friends who did not drive or take care of children when a crisis arose in their family. Family was her calling and she never let us down. We will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Thayer Calvin Harmon; sisters, Pauline Williams and Blanche Oden; brothers, Alfred McDonald and Levy McDonald; and grandson, Lee Joseph Jr.

She is survived by her children, Saundra Harmon of Mont Belvieu, Carolyn Joseph and husband, Lee, of Spring, and Charles Harmon and wife, Shirley, of Mont Belvieu; her sister, Irene Callaway of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Terry Joseph of Spring, David Joseph of Houston, Anita Hall and husband, Bubba, of Mont Belvieu, and Melissa Johnson and husband, Johnny, of Mont Belvieu; great-grandchildren, Ashton Hall, Tyler Joseph, Spencer Hall, Austin Johnson, Blaine Joseph, Chase Johnson, Lura Joseph, and Charlie Joseph; and several nieces.

Visitation will be held from five until eight o’clock in the evening on Monday, July 20, 2009, at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Funeral services will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, July 21, at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton with burial to follow in Cedar Crest cemetery in Baytown.

Pallbearers will be Terry Joseph, David Joseph, Bubba Hall, Johnny Johnson, Ashton Hall and Tyler Joseph.

In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to a charity of choice.

Services for Bertie are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home 602 N Main St. Dayton, Texas 77535.
