Waisner

Betty “Nani” Jean Moore Waisner, age 74, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at her home in Lake Jackson, Texas.

Betty was born in Daisetta, Texas November 17, 1934 the daughter of the late Basil and Bertha Moore. In 1956 she went to work for Dow Chemical in Freeport, She worked in the purchasing department, moved to Houston Office then back to Freeport to the construction department until her retirement in 1992. In 1993 she went to work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Huntsville, Texas, staying three years. In 2004 she went to work for Brazosport Independent school district at Clute Intermediate School. She was a member of the Clute First Baptist Church and a member of the VFW post #5621 – Ladies Auxiliary. She served the auxiliary as a chair and co-chair of many patriotic and community projects.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Maxine Jennings and Patsy Moore, her brothers, Travis, Avon, Donald and Bobby Moore, and her best friend Kenneth Waisner. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Terri Carrasco, of Lake Jackson, her cherished grandchildren Sidney, Kaitlyn and Hailie Carrasco all of Lake Jackson. As well as a sister Iva Becker of Liberty, Texas and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Nani, was a devoted grandmother, and mother who cherished her family dearly.

Visitation will be held Sunday April 19, 2009 from 5-8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N Travis, Liberty, Texas. Funeral services will be held 1pm Monday, April 20, 2009 at the funeral home, with Rev. Tim Gruver officiating, burial to follow in Fairlawn cemetery.

Nugent

Opal Jean Nugent, 78, of Liberty, died Thursday April 9, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Baptist hospital in Beaumont.

A native of Silsbee she had lived in Liberty most of her life and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years; Wilbur Nugent of Liberty, Son; Sammie Nugent and wife Donna of Ypsilanti Michigan, daughter; Sherlene Hicks and husband Ken of Liberty. Sister; Susie Rashall and husband Norman of Nederland. Brothers; Leon Eason and wife Sarah of Silsbee, Robert Eason and wife Pat of Beaumont, Jerry Eason of Lumberton. Five; Grandchildren; thirteen; Great Grandchildren;

A service of remembrance will be held Monday April 13, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. At the chapel of Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. Batson TX. Interment will follow at Williams cemetery in Liberty. The family will be receiving friends Sunday April 12, 2009 beginning at 3:00 P.M. Until 9:00 P.M. also at the funeral home

Bederka

Anthony Ray Bederka, 49, of Daisetta, died Wednesday April 15, 2009 at his sisters residence.

A native of Pasadena TX Anthony was a self-employed carpenter.

Sister; Debra Jean Hatcher and husband Karl of Daisetta survive him. Cremation service handled under the direction of Faith & Family Funeral Services, 40847 Hwy 105 E., Batson.

Burleson

Billie Jean Fuquay-Burleson, age 81, of Cleveland, TX, died Sunday, April 11, 2009. She was born in Saltillo, TX, on January 1, 1928 to A. M. and Rosa Fuquay who preceded her in death along with her loving husband, Willie Bernard Burleson; and her sister Melda Haggerty.

Survivors include her children, Larry B. and wife, Caren Burleson of Alvin, TX, Janice Fogleman of Houston, TX, James D. Burleson of Baytown, TX, Alan L. and wife, Deborah Burleson of Tarkington Prairie, TX, Billie Gayle and husband, Jerry Whitten of Lake City, SC, Penelope Anne and husband, Steven Brown of Lake City, SC; sister, Gloria and husband, James Johnson of Trinity, TX; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other treasured family members and cherished friends throughout the years.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, TX. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, TX with interment immediate following at Oak Shade cemetery, Cleveland, TX.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Bay Wind Village Nursing Home for all the tender and loving care they gave during her stay there.

Augeri

James S. Augeri, age 84, of Batson, Texas, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009. He was born in Middletown, Connecticut, on January 18, 1925. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII.

He is survived by his son, James T. Augeri and wife, Cindy; grandsons, Juan, Louis, Chance, and Troy; granddaughters, Jennifer, Johnnie, Jamie, and Jesse; one great-grandchild, TBD with numerous nieces, nephews, and many other treasured family members and cherished friends throughout the years.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 19, 2009, 5:00-9:00 (Rosary at 7:00 p.m.) at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 20, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas, with interment immediately following at Holly Grove cemetery, Segno, Texas.

Godfrey

Funeral Service will be held for Selma Mary Godfrey, of Dayton, Texas, on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Liberty Church of Christ, Liberty, Texas at 2:00 P.M. with Brother Jonathan Sanford, officiating, with burial in Acie cemetery, Dayton, Texas.

A native of Midway, Texas, she graduated high school in Madisonville, Texas. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a former business owner.

She died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital.

Visitation will be held Saturday 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church.

She is survived by two daughters: Zannie Stroughter of Dayton, and Annie M. St. Julian also of Dayton; three sons: Joseph Mouton of Dayton, Gerald Mouton of Houston, and Frank Dark of Liberty; one brother: Frank Brown of Houston; six sisters: Wilma Chambers of Midway, Deborah Preston of Houston, Roger Lee Wheaton, Vercy Matchett, Iotha Turner, and Ruth Bradley all of Madisonville, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.

Yarbrough

Jimmy M. Yarbrough, Jr., 34, of Spring, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, in Spring.

Services will be held at a later date under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jimmy was born January 20, 1975 in Channelview, to parents; Jimmy M., Sr. and Carolyn Reed Yarbrough, a former resident of Saratoga, and has resided in the Spring area for the past 10 years. He was a dispatcher for the Intechra Courier Services of Houston, Baptist by faith, and enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

Mr. Yarbrough was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Fitzhugh and Maude Mae Yarbrough and maternal grandparents: Virginia Hemphill and Phil H. Reed. He is survived by his daughter: Justice B. Yarbrough of Saratoga, son: Jadon A. Yarbrough of Saratoga, parents: Jimmy M., Sr. and Carolyn Reed Yarbrough of Rye, brother: Larry E. Yarbrough and wife Lynda of Liberty, sisters: Kathy Mitchell and husband David of Livingston and Kimberly S. Durdin and husband Louie of Huffman, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Liddell

Robert J. “Bob” Liddell, 83, of Liberty, died Monday, April 13, 2009 in Liberty. He was born March 18, 1926 to parents James Monroe and Mary Holley Liddell in Dothan, Alabama and was raised in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr. Liddell served as a Sgt. in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, “The Screaming Eagles” making over 89 jumps, and he served during D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge.

He worked over 21 years for Fluor Corp as a construction manager, traveling all over the world before retiring to Liberty in 1990. Bob was a good Christian man who loved his family and his friends. He enjoyed telling stories, fishing, and sports, especially the Florida Gators.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Johnny Burke officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Saturday Morning Whataburger Coffee Club.

Mr. Liddell was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter-in-law, Jeanie Liddell. He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Margie Hylton Liddell of Liberty; his son: Frank Liddell and wife Susana of Liberty; his daughter: Laynie Clancy of Liberty; his grandchildren: Kevin Clancy of Beaumont, Sarah Felton of Port Neches, Hylton Liddell of Liberty, and Johnny Lowe of Liberty; his great-grandchildren: Natalie Garvey of Plainfield, Illinois and Keagan Felton of Port Neches. A special thanks and love to his dear friends, Jim Beasley and Don Franklin of the City Barber Shop and his special friend, Rocket.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-9813.

Mayes

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lucy Marie Mallett Mayes, 76, of Ames, Texas, on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 10:00 A.M., at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Ikeokwu Nduh, M.S.P. as celebrant with burial at Ames Catholic cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Service, Liberty, Texas.

A native of Liberty, and a graduate of Liberty Training High School, she was a nurse. She was a member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.

She passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown after an illness.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 A.M. until time of service at the church.

She is survived by one daughter: Tanya Mayes Montgomery of Ames; five sons; George Mayes, Gary Mayes, Ishmael Mayes, Jr., Jeffery Mayes, all of Houston; Andrew Mayes of Colorado; three brothers: Rudolph Mallett of Ames, Melvin Mallett of Tyler, and Harold Mallett of Freemont, CA.; four sisters: Velma Richards of Port Arthur, Barbara Calhoun of Houston, Laura Mitchell, of Cheeks and Jacqueline Delahoussaye of Ames and a host of other relatives and friends.

Davis

Mark Travis Davis, 51, of Dayton, died Friday, April 10, 2009, in Lexington.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Rosewood cemetery in Humble. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mark was born January 21, 1957 in New Orleans, to parents; Milton Davis, Sr. and Daisy P. “Sue” Hammons. He was a supervisor for Tesco painting and fabrication services of Louisiana, and enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, and mechanics.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his father: Milton Davis, Sr., mother: Daisy P. “Sue” Hammons Harp, and his grandmother: Grace Davis. He is survived by his son: Coby Landrum of Dayton, daughters: Bonnie M. Davis of Houston, Daisy Jean Davis of Houston, and Kary Lynn Cooper of Houston, grandchildren: Jesse and Jaelen English, sisters: Karen Lefevre and husband Ira of Humble, Patsy Vestal and husband Donald of The Woodlands, and Charlynn Stein of Humble, brothers: Milton Davis, Jr. of Liberty and Lloyd Davis and wife Sue of Lexington, nephews: Toby Davis, Drew Davis, Donnie Vestal, Jr., Gary Moreau, and Richard Davis, nieces: Randee Jeffcoat, Jenny Lefevre, Ashley Vestal, Sara Stein, Lindsey Hart, and Kim Adkins, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Dugat

Ruthie Jo Roundtree Dugat, 67, of Dayton, died Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Triumph Hospital East in Channelview.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Dugat Family cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Ruthie was born December 23, 1941 in Oklahoma to parents; Henry Finis and Nellie Mae Jackson Roundtree, a former resident of Caldwell, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 33 years. She was a retired artist, former member of the Order of Eastern Star and Optimist Club, and enjoyed horses, cattle, and crafts.

Mrs. Dugat was preceded in death by her parents, grandson: Jerry L. “JJ” Bishop, Jr., sisters: Pearl Fregia, and Maxine Thornton, and brothers: Rocky Roundtree and Eugene Roundtree. She is survived by her husband of 32 years: Mike Dugat of Dayton, daughters: Karen Ruth Mills of Baytown and Dianna Carol Berka of Dayton, sons: Donald Ray Berka of Caldwell and Finis Jay Berka of Caldwell, brothers: Johnny Roundtree of Houston and Sammy Roundtree of OK, sister: Darlene Cooksey, 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Kapalski

Mary Kapalski, 98, of Dayton, died Saturday, April 4, 2009 in Liberty.

Mrs. Kapalski was born March 15, 1911, to parents Theodore and Victoria Pasket Seigle in Anderson, Texas. She was the fifth of 11 children.

Mrs. Kapalski moved to the Dayton area at 16 years of age. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church as well as the Alter Guild. Mrs. Kapalski had a love of knowledge and learned to use a computer at 88 years of age. She also enjoyed working in her garden, cooking, sewing, crafts and flowers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Father Jim McClintock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Catholic cemetery in Eastgate. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Mrs. Kapalski was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Steve Kapalski, brothers Joe, Stash, Louis, and Pete Seigle, sisters Katie Beran, Pearl Matelski, Margie Knotts, Helen Petronella, Sallie Alexander, and Annie Morris. She is survived by daughters: Rose Klimitchek of Dayton and Patricia Tanner of Liberty; son: James Kapalski of Dayton; grandchildren: Dennis Klimitchek and wife Donna of Dayton, Brenda Klimitchek Leonard and husband David of Liberty, Randal Klimitchek and wife Pam of Dayton, Kelvin Klimitchek of Dayton, Laura Tanner Jordan and husband Harold of Bay City, Angela Tanner Vinson and husband Richard of Liberty, Michael Kapalski and wife Josephine of Dayton, Stephen Kapalski of Houston and Donna Kapalski Puckett and husband Todd of Dayton; great-grandchildren: Aaron Jordan of Liberty, Elizabeth Jordan McMahon and husband Blake of Katy, Leah Jordan of Bay City, Ren Vinson of Liberty, Macie Vinson of Liberty, Nicole Kapalski, Courtney Kapalski, Zachary Kapalski, Kelsey Kapalski of Dayton, Brianne Puckett, Rylan Puckett of Dayton, Allen Klimitchek, Sarah Klimitchek of Dayton, Kayla Leonard of Dallas, Carson Leonard of Liberty and Keith Klimitchek of Dayton; and great great-granddaughter: Sophia Noelle McMahon of Katy, also many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Kapalski’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Liberty Health Care Center and Odyssey Hospice of Beaumont.

Tanner

Clarice Loritha Tanner, age 78, died Saturday April 4, 2009 in Dayton.

She was born July 24, 1930 the daughter of the late Clarence Huey Collins and Ruby Jordan Collins. She was a homemaker who enjoyed working in her yard, singing, and attending church.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Mervin Collins and a sister Rita Faye Maddy.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 60 years Frank Patella Tanner Sr. Sons Pete Tanner and his Wanda of Dayton, Bill Tanner and his wife Connie of Dayton, and a daughter Timmie Tanner and her husband Steve of DeLeon, Texas, as well as a brother Floyd Collins and his wife Pat. In addition she leaves nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-8pm at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St. Dayton. Funeral services to be held 10 AM, Wednesday April 8, 2009 at the funeral home, with Rev. Wayne Hardin officiating, burial will follow in Ryan cemetery, Tarkington, TX.

Reynolds

John David Reynolds, age 21, died suddenly Friday evening as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Dayton.

He was born in Houston, Texas, October 29, 1987 the son of John and Valerie Albright Reynolds of Huffman. John was a graduate of Hargrave High School in Huffman class of 2006. He loved the outdoors especially, hunting, fishing, and trips to East Texas to see his paternal grandfather. He had fondness for four-wheeling and any type of off-road vehicles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Dale Albright and his cousins, Tori Albright and Jordan Winkler.

He leaves behind his beloved parents, John and Valerie Reynolds of Huffman. His sister Leah Reynolds, his maternal grandmother Mary Albright, and his paternal grandparents, Billy Jack and Margaret Ann Reynolds. In addition he left his girlfriend Jessica Young and his unborn child Madison. John will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday April 8, 2009 from 5-8pm at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St., Dayton, Texas. Funeral Services will be held 10AM April 9, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Huffman.

Burial will be private.
