Odessa Hall Carr

Services for Odessa Hall Carr, 82, of Fresno,  Calif., and formerly of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Palestine. Burial will follow in the Blackshear Cemetery under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carr died Aug. 24.
She was born June 22, 1920, in Fort Worth, to Isaiah and Lue  Johnson Hall.
Mrs. Carr received her early education at the Lost Prairie and Flint Hill schools. She attended Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church while in Palestine before joining Living Waters Church of Christ in San Diego,  Calif. where she had resided for more than 40 years.
She was often employed as a domestic engineer and a caterer.
Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her husband, John Ben Carr; and siblings, Melvin Hall, Colley Hall, L.V. Hall, Wilbur Hall, Preston Hall and Bob Hall.
She is survived by brothers, Isaiah Hall and Less Hall, both of Seaside,  Calif., and Leo Hall and James Hall, both of Fresno; and sister, Mary Wilson of Fort Worth.
A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Rosie Virginia Davis

Services for Rosie Virginia Davis, 97, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at New Canaan Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
She died Sunday morning at Palestine Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Davis was born June 20, 1905 in Palestine to Gabe and Sarah Price Anderson.
She attended Palestine public schools. She was a lifelong member of New Canaan Baptist Church.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Davis; and a sister, Molly Thomas.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Crawford of Austin; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Willie Dell Delane

Services for Willie Dell Russell Delane, 78, of Crockett, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church in Crockett. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Delane died Thursday in Crockett.
Known to many as Aunt Pam, Mrs. Delane was born Aug. 11, 1924 in Houston County to Albert and Savannah Gray Russell.
Mrs. Delane attended Crockett public schools. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, L.J. Warfield and Tennison Delane; a daughter, Carolyn Warfield; and a brother, Albert Russell Jr.
Mrs. Delane is survived by daughters, Lynda Warfield, Veerne Ware, Adie Warfield, Vannie Riley, and Nathaniel Ramsundar; sons, Lyndon Warfield, Jerry Warfield, Richard Warfield and Fredrick Warfield; sisters, Chatherine Moten, Christine Roberts and Dorothy Harris; 23 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn McAdams

Services for Evelyn McAdams, 84, of Laneville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney with Dan Manuel officiating. Thompson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mrs. McAdams died Thursday in a Jacksonville hospital.
She was born July 20, 1918 in Choudrant, La.
Mrs. McAdams was a medical assistant for Dr. Paul Boren for 20 years. She was a member of Crockett Road Church of Christ in Palestine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Floyd McAdams; a son, Michael Glenn McAdams; and brothers, Jack Hogan and Huey Hogan.
Mrs. McAdams is survived by a daughter, Patsy Gage of Jacksonville; a sister, Pauline Hammonds of Choudrant, La.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Fred Guy “Hawkshaw, Boo” McKenzie

Services for Fred Guy “Hawkshaw, Boo” McKenzie, 88, of Palestine, were at 2 p.m. today at Tennessee Colony Church with the Rev. Lyle Huntress officiating. Burial followed in Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. McKenzie died Tuesday night at Greenbrier Nursing Home.
He was born March 23, 1914, in Tennessee Colony, to Martin Eugene and Lydia Gore McKenzie.
Mr. McKenzie was a packer and worked for Glass Containers. He was a member of Glass Bottle Blowers Union No. 86. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Tucker McKenzie, in 1983; sisters, Bernice Graham and Sybil Campodonico; and brothers, Harry McKenzie, Ralph McKenzie and Ray McKenzie.
Pallbearers were Jack Williams Jr., Jerry Cleveland, Jeff Cleveland, Rance Graham, Mike McKenzie and Don McKenzie.
Honorary pallbearers were John Tyer and Jimmy Frazier.

Roger Lee Sumuel

Funeral arrangements for Roger Lee Sumuel, 50, are pending at McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Sumuel died this morning at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Jean Goode

Funeral arrangements for Jean Goode of Grapeland are pending at Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.
Mrs. Goode died Thursday at her home.

Georgia Lee Stovall

Funeral arrangements for Georgia Lee Stovall, 80, of Elkhart, are pending at Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Stovall died Thursday night at Spring Seasons in Elkhart.

Lueberta Gambrell

Funeral arrangements for Lueberta Gambrell, 91, of Elkhart, are pending at McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gambrell died Thursday night at Palestine Regional Medical Center.

David Neil Adkins

Services for David Neil Adkins, 52, of Frankston, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Garden Oaks Memorial Park in Berryville with the Rev. Ron Ivey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.
Mr. Adkins died Tuesday at his residence.
He was born March 23, 1950, in Anderson, Ind.
Mr. Adkins was a self-employed welder and attended Hilltop Baptist Church of Berryville. He served in the U.S. Marines in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise Adkins of Frankston; son, Tomas Neil Adkins of Dallas; parents, Richard and Wilma Adkins of Holiday Hills; brother, Michael Adkins of Mount Selman; sisters, Pamela Hill of Eureka, Becky Rindfleisch of Dallas and Penny Joplin of Palestine; and two step-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Adkins, Keith Jones, Cory Crisp, Tony Joplin, Roger Nolan and Hollis Tipton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jose Richardo Sanchez

Services for Jose Richardo Sanchez, 11, of Palestine, will be at noon Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Master Sanchez died Tuesday at Children’s Hospital in Dallas.
He was born Aug. 12, 1991, in Palestine to Rogelio and Elvira Zapatero Sanchez.
Master Sanchez was Catholic. He was a fourth grader at Story Elementary School.
He is survived by his parents of Palestine; brothers, Jose Luis Sanchez and Mario Sanchez, both of Palestine; and sister, Marina Sanchez of San Miguel, Guanajuato, Mexico.
A rosary will be at 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Grover Lowell Blackshire Jr.

Services for Grover Lowell Blackshire Jr., 65, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with the Revs. James M. Busby, Gary  Jackson and Myron Waddle officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Houston Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Blackshire died Thursday morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 14, 1937, in Palestine to Grover Lowell Sr. and Bennie Jamerson Blackshire.
Mr. Blackshire was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church and graduated from A.M. Story High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and was honorably discharged.
He worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad several years and also was a self-employed carpenter.
Mr. Blackshire was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Herman Bell; and stepsister, Dorothy Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia Mims Blackshire of Palestine; sons, Carlos L. Wilson of Conroe, Morris Wilson and Dale Mims, both of Waco; daughter, LeNice Mims of Palestine; stepbrothers, Hartley Bell of San Ramon,  Calif. and L.Z. Bell of Oakland,  Calif.; stepsisters, Henrietta Willis of Oakland,  Calif. and Ophelia Sheppard of Dallas; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Warren Arthur Jr., Gilbert LaBove, Anderson Reed Jr., Bernard Reed, Eric Reed and Charles Ray Sloan.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Mount Moriah Baptist Church and cousins.

Bobby Lee Willis

Services for Bobby Lee Willis, 62, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church of Oakwood. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mr. Willis died Monday at Palestine Health Care Center.
He was born Sept. 3, 1940, in Freestone County to J.W. and Azaide Owens Willis Sr.
Mr. Willis received his education in the Butler public schools. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He was married to Lucille Smith and later married Sandy Willis.
He was preceded in death by brothers, J.W. Willis Jr. and Willie Dexter Willis.
Mr. Willis is survived by daughter, Lois Nelson of Odessa; sisters, Aline Mims of Odessa, Barbara Butt of Abilene and Osline Wade of Oakwood; and one grandchild.

Lois Elizabeth England Funderburk

Services for Lois Elizabeth England Funderburk, 82, of Bullard, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at County Line Baptist Church of Bullard. Burial will follow at Funderburk Family Cemetery in Palestine under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Funderburk died Wednesday at East  Texas Hospice Center in Tyler.
She was born Feb. 14, 1920, in  Taylor to John Edward England and Bertha Cliteal Shurbert England.
Mrs. Funderburk attended school in Elkhart and was baptized at Walston Springs Baptist Church in Palestine.
Mrs. Funderburk was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, L.D. Funderburk, on Aug. 4, 2002; and son, Kerry Lyn Funderburk, in 1972.
She is survived by sons, Victor V. Funderburk of Sunnyvale,  Calif., Stanley K. Funderburk of Lufkin and Terry W. England of Bullard; daughters, Gloria "Jeanne" Melendez of San Antonio, Janita J. Perkins of Bullard, and Dixie A. Rutledge of Brenham; brothers, Harold B. England of Palestine and John E. England of Tenaha; sisters, Mary Alice Kuykendall of Jacksonville and Ruby McLen of Pasadena; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to East  Texas Hospice of Tyler.

James Dunnahoe

Funeral arrangements for James Dunnahoe, 76, of Groesbeck, are pending at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home of Palestine.
Mr. Dunnahoe died Thursday in a Waco hospital.

Estella Muse

Services for Estella Muse, 91, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hyde Park Christian Church in Austin. Arrangements were under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Muse died June 20.
She was born July 1, 1910.
Mrs. Muse is survived by daughter, Alice Muse Bowser of Austin; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
