Pratt

Tina Gail (Lemond) Pratt “Tina Boo”, 46, of Raywood, TX, died on Friday, March 13, 2009 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital.

Tina was born on October 6, 1962 in Houston, Texas to Frederick Lemond Sr. and Louella (Fontenot) Lemond. A life long resident of the area Tina graduated Hull-Daisetta High School in 1980, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and worked as a teller for Prosperity Bank in Dayton.

Tina is survived by her husband Daniel Pratt, children Brandi N. Arceneaux and fiancé Louis, Shaun C. Arceneaux and wife Kalanthia, Kody J. Arceneaux, and Brittany M. Arceneaux, step children, Bridgett Harrison, Tiffany Gilmore and husband Vincent, Ramsey Pratt, Nathan Pratt, and Ivy Pratt, parents Frederick Lemond, Sr. and Louella T. Lemond, brother Frederick Lemond, Jr. and wife Trina, eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 8-11AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Rosary Service at 10AM. Funeral Services are also Wednesday at 11AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be immediately following services at Sacred Heart cemetery. Arrangements for Tina have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service 1101 N Travis Liberty, Texas 77575. 936.336.6418.

Elkins

James “J.C.” Clyde Elkins, 92, died Friday, March 13, 2009 peacefully at his home in Devers.

He was born in Fannett, Texas on January 30, 1917 to the late Jim and Maude Elkins. J.C. was a retired rice farmer and he lived in Devers on his family farm for over 88 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Albert, Billy, Peck and Jack; two sisters, Letha and Daisy Lee. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 58 years Inez; daughter, Jan; grand-daughter, Sarah; sister, Lillie Mae as well as numerous nieces and nephews. J.C. will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation for family and friends will be at Allison Funeral Service on Sunday, March 15th from six until eight o’clock in the evening. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, March 16th at two o’clock in the afternoon at Allison Funeral Service with interment to follow in Stacy cemetery in Devers. Final arrangements for J.C. have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service 1101 N Travis St Liberty, Texas 77575. 936.336.6418.

Edwards

Funeral Service will be held for Forris Edwards, 88, of Liberty, Texas on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Wells Memorial Chapel, with the Reverend Greg Bellard officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery.

A native of Liberty, he attended Liberty public schools.

He was a laborer.

He died Friday, March 13, 2009, at Liberty Healthcare Center after an illness.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service. He is survived by one brother: Loyce Edwards of Liberty, one sister, Earnestine Chambers of Liberty and a host of other relatives and friends.

Carouthers

Mozelle Taylor Carouthers, 84, of Dayton, died peacefully Friday, March 13, 2009 in Liberty after an extended illness.

She was born November 3, 1924 in Liberty County to parents, Perlie Richard and Hester Alice Canter Taylor. Mrs. Carouthers was a lifelong resident of Liberty County, graduating from Hull-Daisetta High School in 1942, continuing her education at Beaumont Business School. She had been a long time employee of the American Rice Growers and a member of the First Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Carouthers was a member of the Liberty County Grief Relief. She loved cooking, entertaining, traveling, and most of all being with her family.

Service for Mrs. Carouthers will be Sunday, 1:30 p.m., at The First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Charles Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carouthers was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Thomas A. Carouthers, her brothers: Albert Ernest Taylor and Perlie Redick Taylor. She is survived by her daughters: Vonda Burrell and husband Roy of Devers and Marla Waller and husband Robert of Anahuac; her grandchildren: Michael Burrell, Jason Williams, Justin Waller, Jeremy Burrell, and Rachel Garner; her great-grandchildren: Robert Mark Waller, Taylor Burrell, Meghann Waller, Hannah Waller, Justin Garner, Natallie Garner, and Makaila Garner, also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Baillio

Daisy “Pat” Silva Baillio, 85, of Anahuac, Texas, died Thursday, March 12, 2009.

She was born on October 30, 1923 to Warren and Effie (Wiggins) Silva in Eminence, Texas. Pat spent a lot of time in her garden with her plants, but she spent the most time with her family.

Pat is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Leslie Robert Baillio, Sr.; parents; son, Billy Warren Baillio; six brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her sons, Bobby Baillio and wife Vickie of Baytown, and Jon A. Baillio and wife Bonnie of Hankamer; daughter, Lona Baillio of Anahuac; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous more family and close friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Sterling Funeral Home on Saturday, March 14th from twelve until two o’clock in the afternoon with a celebration of life starting at two o’clock. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. Arrangements for Pat have been entrusted to Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S Main St, Anahuac, Texas 77514. 936.258.2678.

Deen

N. L. Deen, 75, of Huffman passed away Friday, March 13, 2009 in Humble after an extended illness. He was born June 26, 1933 in New Boston, Texas to parents: Nazer and Addie Dugger Deen, living in Huffman since 1968. Mr. Deen was retired owner operator of Deen’s Septic in Huffman, a charter member and 32nd degree member of the Huffman Masonic Lodge #1428, a former reserve constable of Pct. 4 in Harris County, and a retired member of Local #450 Operating Engineers. N.L. enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Deen will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2009 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Herrington officiating. Interment will follow at Huffman cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Deen was preceded in death by his parents; his son: Gary R. “Randy” Deen; his sisters: Oda Mae Lawrence and Duelee Deen; and his brother: A.G. “Gay” Deen. He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Juanita Tallant Deen of Huffman; his son: Ricky Ray Deen and wife Leslie of Huffman; daughters: Cynthia Kaye Deen Redwine and husband Aubrey of Austin, Cathie Ann Deen Ropp and husband Tom of Huffman, and Sandra Ann Deen of Huffman; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers: Ray Deen of Huffman and Lester Edwards of DeKalb; sisters: Wenona McCamy of Texas City, Marie Castano of Texas City, Fay Deen of Texarkana, AR, and Wanda Davis of Texarkana, AR; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Baldwin

Funeral Service will be held for Vivian Lois Varner Baldwin on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Valley Baptist Church, with the Reverend Marvin Etheridge and the Reverend Richard Ayers, Jr. officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery.

A native of Liberty, she attended public school at Liberty High School. She was a domestic worker.

She died March 6, 2009 at her residence.

Visitation will be held Saturday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of service.

She is survived by her husband, Gregory Baldwin of Baytown; one son: James Burnell of Liberty; one daughter: Kenya Burnell also of Liberty; one sister: Jo Ann Williams of Liberty; two brothers: Jimmy R. Varner of Dayton and Allen W. Varner of Austin; several grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graves

Peggy Fern Jones Tubb Graves, 75, of Hull, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, after a long courageous battle with lung cancer, at her daughter’s residence in Baytown.

Peggy was born October 5, 1933 in Wichita Falls, to parents; Seaburn Floyd and Geneva May Musler Jones, a former resident of Alabama, and has resided in the Hull area for the past 24 years. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed arts & crafts, flowers, painting, working in the yard, and especially spending time with her family.

Mrs. Graves was preceded in death by her parents, father of her children and husband for 25 years: Billy Tubb, her husband of 30 years: Leonard E. Graves, and her daughter: Ona Mae “Tony” Tubb Watts. She is survived by her daughters: Tiny Tubb Fregia and husband Jerry of Hull and Peggy Tubb Goble and husband Jerry of Baytown, sister: Betty Sanders and husband Carl of Dayton, brother: Walter L. Jones and wife Nancy of Chandler, AZ, grandchildren: Rayna Watts Love, Jennifer Fregia Pennington and husband Charles, Amber Fregia, and Tosha Fregia, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family would like to thank Faith Community Hospice Team of Tracie, Kelly, Joyce, Doris, and Mary, for there care of Mrs. Graves.

Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Ishmael

Robert Eugene Ishmael, 66, of Liberty, died on March 8, 2009 in at his residence.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 12, 2009 at God’s Word in Action Church on FM1960 in Dayton, TX at 2 P.M.

He was born in Portland, Oregon to parents Ralph C. Ishmael and Ruth Dumas on January 12, 1943. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and carving wood. He worked as a processor at a lumber yard.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Viola King.

He is survived by his wife Janis Lynn Hill of Liberty; son, Mikal Hill and wife Sarah of LaPorte and daughter Amanda Ishmael of Liberty; brothers, Ralph Alvin Ishmael and Eddie Earl Ishmael both of Lake Dallas, TX.; sisters, Judy Ables of New York, New York, Bernice Ishmael of Longview, Linda Darnell Ishmael of Lake Dallas, Minnie Ishmael of Missouri, Brenda Ishmael of Denton and Martha Ishmael also of Denton. One grand child also survives, Tyler Weston Hill.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis Street, Liberty, Texas 77575 936-336-6418.

Hatcher

Eva Sue (Chamblee) Hatcher, 73, of Hull, Texas, died Monday, March 9, 2009.

She was born on February 23, 1936 to Vives Lee and Vera (Blackmon) Chamblee. Sue enjoyed crocheting, watching tennis and playing baseball and softball in her younger years. She was a great cook and an even better mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Sue will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hatcher; parents; son, Barry Hatcher; and sister, Inez “Toppy” Holmes. She is survived by her son, Steve Hatcher and wife Lisa Kay of Liberty; daughter, Laura Hebert and husband Johnny of Hull; grandchildren, Stephanie, Eddie, Anna, Kaylee, Rebekah, Marah, and Emmah; four great-grandchildren; and numerous more relatives and close friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be at Allison Funeral Service from five until eight o’clock in the evening Wednesday, March 11th. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, March 12th at two o’clock in the afternoon at Allison Funeral Service with interment to follow in Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Trammell

Gene LaRay Trammell, age 65, of Crosby, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 in Baytown, after an extended illness.

Mr. Trammell was born November 30, 1943 in Highlands, Texas to parents Leona Beatrice Currie and Roy LaRay Trammell.

As a native of Cloverleaf, Texas, he attended Galena Park Schools.

He then served his country with honor in the Army's First Cavalry (Airborne) Division during the Vietnam War.

Upon his discharge he learned a trade through education and hard work, becoming a master electrician.

He worked for Exxon for several years, joined the IBEW Electrician's Union, then worked for the City of Houston until his retirement in 2004.

He was 32nd degree member of the Sampson Masonic Lodge #231 in Highlands.

He was married to Martha Carol Herbeck for 26 years.

Mr. Trammell provided his wife and his children with a wonderful life filled with joy and contentment.

He coached his children in Little League baseball, taught them to ride horses without fear, grow and raise their own food, and drive a stickshift automobile.

He also enjoyed singing and playing guitar, motorcycling with his good friend Jim Moore, fishing, camping, and hosting large gatherings of family and friends.

Mr. Trammell married Alice Faye Harrison in 2004 and enjoyed his retirement with her for several years.

Services for Mr. Trammell will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton, Texas. Interment will be at Poole Family cemetery in Richards, Texas at a later time.

Mr. Trammell was preceded in death by his parents Leona and Roy Trammell, and is survived by his wife Alice Faye of Livingston; his sons: Mark LaRay Trammell and Crystal of Crosby, and Paul Jeremy Trammell and Sandra of Crosby; his step-daughter: Deanna Lynn Jenkins-Martin and husband Troy Martin of Friendswood; his step-son: Richard Dean Jenkins, Jr. and wife Melissa of Crosby; his sisters: Geraldine and husband Walter Sanders of Jewitt, and Wylene Crenshaw and of Midland; his four grandchildren: Heaven, Chelsea, Shaley, and Tucker; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Garrard

Jacqueline (Farris) Garrard, died March 7, 2009 in Magnolia Health Nursing Home, Magnolia, AR. Jackie was born July 26, 1929 in Dayton, Texas, to William Andrew “Jack” Farris and Elma White Farris.

She was president of the New Iberia Art Guild, New Iberia, Louisiana, a member of Southern Cross UDC, Houston, TX, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas, and the Pricilla Club, in Houston, Texas.

Jackie joined Central Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas, after moving there in 2000.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Benny Hollis Garrard of Liberty Texas, her sisters, Imogene Farris, Violet Bauerkemper, Hazel Schauer and Gwendolyn Curtis all of Houston, Texas.

She is survived by her son, Benny Hollis Garrard, Jr. and his wife Francis of Lafayette, La and their children Mr. and Mrs. Shane Garrard of Lafayette, LA, Jessica Garrard of Tucson, Arizona and her daughter, Berea Leveritt and husband, Richard of Magnolia, AR and her daughters, Jennifer Leveritt of Henderson, NV and Laurel Leveritt of Fort Hood, TX.

A memorial service is pending in Magnolia, AR, to be held at Central Baptist Church.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in the name of Jackie Garrard.
