McLean
Lionelle McLean, 82, died on January 19, 2009 at the Liberty Health Care Center in Liberty.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23 at the First United Methodist Church of Liberty at 10 A.M. A gathering of family and friends be held on Thursday, from 5-8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Liberty City cemetery. Rev. Jay Barnes will officiate.
She was born on August 29, 1926 in Liberty to parents, Dr. E.H. McLean and Mayme Tisdale McLean. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Liberty since 1941 but was on the church roll since 1927. She has served on the Board of the Church and many church committees. She graduated from Liberty High School, Sam Houston State with a Bachelor of Science, University of Houston with Masters in Education, and a Masters Degree in Supervision from Stephen F. Austin University. Lionelle worked as a teacher for over fifty years, having taught in Liberty ISD for 28 years, Daisetta ISD, Dickinson ISD and the Windham School District. She served on the Liberty ISD Board of Trustees from 1990 until 2002. She was a long time supporter of the Liberty FFA, a member of the United Daughter of the Confederacy and the Atascocita Camellia Club.
Lionelle is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her nephews, John Kenton McLean of Leona and Wm David McLean of Normangee and niece, Patricia Kathleen Cunningham of San Angelo. Great Nieces, Lauren McLean of Leona and April McLean of Huntsville and great-great- niece Savannah McLean of Leona as well as many friends also survive.

Joy
Randy Ramon Joy, age 78, of Batson, TX, died Wednesday in a Channelview Hospital.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 2:00 P.M., at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel 1101 North Travis Street, Liberty, TX. with the Rev. Jimmy Van Dorn and Rev Harold Birtchfield officiating with burial in the Guedry cemetery in Batson, TX.
A visitation was a will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Allison Funeral Service from 5 to 8 P.M.
Randy was born on December 18, 1930 to Melvin Joy and Alzina Walker Joy in Richards, TX. He was a graduate of the Hull-Daisetta High School and a U. S. Navy Veteran and married
Katherine Aline Daniel on November 29, 1956 in the Central Baptist Church. Randy retired to the farm to grow things, and he really grew things.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Katherine Aline Daniel Joy of Batson, TX. two sons, Randy Ramon Joy Jr., and Wesley Eugene Joy, a daughter, Maura Rene Joy, a sister Jean Odom, and two grandchildren, Randy R. Joy III, and Catherine Lanora Joy and a host of other family members and friends.

Reynolds
Raymond Lee Reynolds, 63, of Dayton, died Monday, January 19, 2009 at home after an extended illness.
He was born October 15, 1945 in Aransas Pass, Texas, to parents: Edward C. Reynolds and Mary E. Hawkins Reynolds. He had lived in the Dayton area since 1987 previously living in Houston. He had worked as an operator over 26 years for Praxair in Pasadena. Mr. Reynolds loved being with his family and friends and enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Service for Mr. Reynolds will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff S. Hartman officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Earl Reynolds. He is survived by his daughter: Carrie Reynolds of Mississippi; his sons: Gary Reynolds of Dayton and Quincy Reynolds and wife Tonya of Dayton; four grandchildren: Quinton Reynolds, Gracie Wright, Erika Holstein, and Courtney Kosloski; sister: Betty Miller of Nolanville, Texas; his brothers: Kenneth Reynolds of Van Burren, Arkansas and Les Reynolds of Nolanville, Texas; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Taylor
Mary Sue Taylor, age 76, of Liberty, TX, died in a Baytown Hospital Monday, January 19, 2009.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009, at 10 A.M., at the Guedry cemetery, Batson, TX. with the Rev. Leta Storey officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Allison Funeral Service 1101 North Travis Street Liberty, Texas 77575 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Mary Sue was born on September 18, 1932 in Tecula, Cherokee County, TX. She graduated from the Batson High School in 1950 and married
Edmond Ray Taylor. She was a life long Baptist and known in the area as an outstanding cook. She worked in the Moss Hill area in the restaurants. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and collecting books. She was an avid reader.
Mary Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Ada McGowan Doucette and Tom Doucette, a son, Eddie Taylor, a grandson, Bobby Bellah, and a sister, Billie Fae Wallace.
She is survived by her husband, Edmond Ray Taylor of Liberty, TX, two sons, David Ray Taylor of Batson, TX, and Robert Roy Taylor of Moss Hill, TX., two daughters, Laura Christene Grabach of Houston, TX., and Mary Ann Gonzales of Deer Park, TX., two sisters, Helen McCleandon of Kilgore, TX., and Betty Annn Duhon of Honey Island, TX., eight grandchildren, David Ray Taylor Jr., Jayson Taylor, Linda Whitworth, Christi Patrick, Roland Gonzales Jr., Adrian Gonzales, Nicholas Gonzales, and Amanda Bellah, and seven great grandchildren, Noah Gonzales, Alyssa Gonzales, Tessa Gonzales, Darian Gonzales, Nicole Gonzales, Tristyn Zitron, and Jacob Patrick, and a host of other family members and friends.

Edwards
Funeral Service for Earnest “Brue” Edwards, 95, of Liberty, Texas, will be held Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church, Liberty, at 1 P.M with Reverend Paul Cross Sr. officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery.
A native of Liberty, he attend public school in Liberty. He was a member of Lily of the Valley Baptist Church, Liberty. “Brue” was a farmer and rancher.
He died Saturday, January 17, 2009, at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A. M. until time of service at the church.
He is survived by his daughter: Betty Lou Johnson of Dayton, Texas, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Manous
Novline Gertrude Manous, 84, of Wallisville, died Sunday January 11, 2009 at Liberty-Dayton hospital in Liberty.
A native of Brownwood, TX, she had lived in Wallisville and was a homemaker.
She was survived by her Sons; Virgil Manous, Jr. of San Augustine, Floyd Manous of Dayton, Robert Manous, Richard Manous of Wallisville. Grandchildren; 17, Great Grandchildren; 32, Great Great grandchildren; 13.
Funeral service was held Wednesday January 14, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. At Calvary Baptist church of Moss Bluff with Pastor Chuck Bradford officiating, interment followed at Anahuac cemetery of Anahuac.

Richard Sterling Wells 77, of Daisetta, died Monday January 19, 2009 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont.
A service of remembrance will be held Thursday January 22, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at First Assembly of God Church of Saratoga with Reverend Jeff Blizzard officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery of Batson.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday January 21, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. Until 8:00 P.M. also at the church.
Born in Rosedale TX to Richard Wells and Ethel Mae James Wells Tidwell, Richard was a Truck driver with J.B. Hunt and a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, serving in Korea earning the Good conduct medal, UN Service medal, Korean Combat Medal, 5 Battle stars and expert Rifleman medal, he was also a lifetime member of The V.F.W. Post # 5621 of Liberty and also Municipal Judge of Daisetta from 1983 until 1995.
He was preceded in death by parents; Richard Wells and Ethel Mae James Wells Tidwell, Brother; Marion Lee ”Buddy” Wells, Half Sister; Agnes Franklin, Brother-in-law; Elmer Hatcher. Jo Ann “Jodi” Casey, 52, of Moss Hill, died Friday, January 16, 2009, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2009, at the Hardin United Methodist Church in Hardin. Visitation will be held at the church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the church. Arrangements under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Jodi was born October 14, 1956 in Houston, to parents; Carl R. and Jo Ann Dunn Casey, a former resident of Dayton, and has resided in the Moss Hill area for the past 43 years. She was a graduate of the Liberty High School class of 1975, caregiver, member of the Hardin United Methodist Church, board member for Spirit of Sharing, and enjoyed teaching Sunday school, church activities, and caring for others.
Miss Casey was preceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by her parents: Carl R. and Jo Ann Dunn Casey of Moss Hill, brothers: Paul E. Casey, Sr. and wife Patti of Bullard and Ralph Casey and wife Debbie of Dayton, nephews: Paul E. Casey, Jr. and wife Lynn of Troup, David Casey of Dayton, and Robert Casey and wife Amanda of Spring, two great-nephews, one great-niece, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Melissa Dawn Hammett, 32, of Sulphur, Louisiana, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009.
She was born on November 8, 1976 in Baytown, Texas to Jimmy Don Hammett and Roberta Sue White.
Melissa is preceded in death by her son, Billy Don Fredricks; grandfather, Harold Hammett; grandmother, Oletta King; step-grandfather, Buddy King; and uncles, Johnny Hammett, Tommy White, and Ricky White.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Fredricks of Humble, parents, Jimmy Hammett and wife Wee of Sulphur and Sue White of Houston; brothers, Scott Campbell and wife Katie of Humble, Bradley Hammett and wife Ashley of Sulphur, Allen White and wife Sabrina of Sulphur, Yancy White and wife Mechelle of Sulphur, and Randy Young and wife Beckie of Deridder; and numerous more nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.

Johnny Wayne Priestly, age 59, of Liberty, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at his home in Liberty.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel, 1101 North Travis Street, Liberty, Texas 77575 at 12 noon. A visitation will be held Saturday morning at 10 A.M. until the time of service. Mr. Pete Vandver will officiating. Johnny was born on October 31, 1949 in Texarkana, TX to Marcelle Priestly and Syble Lee Beard Priestly. He graduated from the Arkansas High School in Texarkana in 1967.
He was a Rig Welder for the J.F.W., Inc. Welding Company in Cleveland, TX. He enjoyed boxing and cooking BBQ on his grill.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents.
His survivors are his wife, Everlita Janie Priestly of Liberty, TX.; daughter, Stacy Cavalier of Liberty; son, Sonny Wayne Priestly of Liberty; grandson, Joey Cavalier of Liberty; sister, Wanda Priestly of Camden, AR., and brother, Charles Priestly and wife Bobbi of Atlanta, TX, and host of other family members and friends.

Ruby Elizabeth Young, age 91, of Liberty, died Thursday, January 15, 2009 in a local nursing home.
Visitation for Ruby will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
Ruby was born on May 27, 1917 to Irvin Davis LaFour and Rosa Ann Craig LaFour in Liberty TX. She graduated from the Liberty High School and was in retail sales for the Fair Store and the Mississippi Chemical Company. She married
Robert Ray Young and made Liberty their home.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents and husband; a sister, Gigi LaFour, and a brother, I. D. LaFour. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Del Rae LaFour; three nieces, Bernadine Silva Mills, Geraldine Silva Valentine, and Gloria LaFour Kretzschmer, and numerous other family members.

Donald Lamar Ewing, 72, of Dayton, died on January 14, 2009.

Donald was born in Hull, TX to parents, Barney V. and Josie Nellie Deckert Ewing on September 20, 1936. He was a graduate of Hull-Daisetta High School and a member of the Baptist Church. He worked for many years at ALCOA in Port Lavaca. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, coin collecting and being outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Ewing of Fredericksburg, Donna Hardt of Victoria and Shelia Ewing of San Antonio; sisters, Patsy Gimnick and husband, Melvin of Liberty, and Bonnie McAnally and husband James of Beaumont; brother, Richard Ewing and wife LaVern of Hardin. Two granddaughters, Krista Krellwit and Shelby Hardt as well as many other family members and friends also survive.
