Funeral Service for Shirley David, 60, of Liberty Texas will be held Saturday, November 15, 2008 at St. Miles Baptist Church, Ames, Texas at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Dwight Pruitt, officiating.

A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, a graduate of the West Liberty High School, Class of 1966, she was a custodian for the City of Liberty.

She died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at San Jacinto Methodist Regency Hospital in Baytown, Texas.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of service at the church.

She is survived by her husband: Leonard David of Ames, Texas, her mother: Olena Semien of Ames, Texas; two sons: Christopher Ray Chatlin and Craig Allen David both of Ames, Texas; two sisters: Barbara Semien of Ames, Texas and Carolyn Winters of Liberty; five brothers: Eddie Semien, James Semien, Michael Semien, Stanley Semien, all of Ames and Roland Semien of Baytown, Texas; one grandson: Christian Christopher Jo Chatlin of Ames and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jackson

A Memorial Service for Arthur “Tickie” Jackson, Sr. 79, of Ames, Texas will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in Wells Memorial Chapel at 11:00 A. M. with the Reverend Michael Booze, officiating.

A native of Rayne Louisiana, he was a former student of Liberty Training High School, a mechanic for the Liberty Independent School District and a veteran of the United States Army.

He died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Methodist Hospital, in Houston, Texas.

He is survived by his wife: Evelyn Trahan Jackson; two sons; Arthur Jackson, Jr. and Dean Jackson, both of Liberty; one daughter: Yolanda Yvette Jackson, of Liberty and a host of other relatives and friends.

Chiquito

Erick “Eddie” Chiquito, 19, of Dayton died Monday, November 10, 2008 at his home.

He was born December 24, 1988 to parents: Ignacio and Artemia Lara Chiquito, was a member of the Immaculate Concepcion Catholic Church and had attended Dayton High School, graduating in 2006. Eddie enjoyed dancing, hanging out with his friends, and most of all traveling to Mexico. He had worked at Dependable Field Service in Moss Hill.

Services for Eddie are pending in Mexico. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Wednesday, evening and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

He is survived by his parents: Ignacio and Artemia Chiquito of Dayton; his brothers: Ignacio Chiquito of Dayton, Macario Chiquito of Garland, and Jose Angel Chiquito of Dayton; his sisters: Carolina Trejo of Dayton, and Patricia Chavez of Dayton; his grandparents: Manuel Lara and Alta Gracia Ramirez.

Campbell

Robert “Robby” Franklin Campbell, 59, of Rye, died Monday, November 10, 2008 in Baytown. He was born February 7, 1949 in Baytown to parents: Roy and Winnie Smith Campbell. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and had worked and a equipment operator. Robby enjoyed riding his motorcycle, listening to music and being with his family.

Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Magnolia Park cemetery.

He is survived by his wife: Betty Riggs Campbell of Rye; his mother: Winnie Smith Campbell of Baytown; sons: Bryan Shroades of Beaumont, Steven Shroades of Salineville, Ohio; daughters: Mandy Rose of Rye, Angela Shroades of Rye, and Gina Christine Craven of Florida; his brother: William Campbell of Baytown; ten grandchildren; also other relatives and a host of friends.

Guillory

Rev. Daniel J. Guillory, 81, a beloved husband, father of three daughters, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, pastor, and friend lost his fight with cancer on Monday, November 10, 2008.

He was born November 2, 1927 to Jesse D. Guillory and Betty Elizabeth Young in Sugartown, Louisiana. He attended Dayton schools and Southwestern Assemblies of God College in Waxahachie. He began his ministry over 50 years ago. He pioneered and pastured churches in Texas and Louisiana. These included Lancaster, Hardin, Liberty, Luling, Moss Hill, and Johnson City, Texas as well as Sulphur, Venice and Belle Chasse, Louisiana. He made several mission trips to Central America to assist in building churches there. He was given the privilege of being honorary president for a day of Southwestern Assemblies of God College.

Services for Rev. Guillory will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2008 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Palms Memorial Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter: Mary Jo Guillory. He is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Margaret “Squeakie” Guillory, his daughters: Margaret Evans and husband Paul of Temple and Danna Franks and husband Mark of Corsicana; his grandchildren: Paula Moore and husband Eric of Spring, , Amy Traynor and husband Jeremy of Temple; Dessa Evans of Fort Worth, Emily Franks of Dallas and Jonathan Franks of Corsicana; Great grandchildren: Bradon Moore of Spring and Rebecca Traynor.

Rogers

Alice Irene “Granny” Rogers, 92 died Sunday at Magnolia Place in Liberty.

She was born January 26, 1916 in Edna, Texas the daughter of the late William H. Phillips and Alice Velona McElroy Phillips. Ilene enjoyed cooking, gardening, family gatherings and her beloved Astros. She moved to Dayton in 1972 from Houston with her husband J.T. Rogers who preceded her in death in 1976. She volunteered for the Ladies Auxiliary at Liberty-Dayton Hospital and for the Dayton Youth Rodeo’s for numerous years.

Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Wilma Kirkes, brothers Ernest and Pete Phillips, sisters Charlene Quinn and Inez Givens.

She leaves behind her beloved family daughter Tommie Buscemi and her husband Charlie of Kingwood; grandchildren, Jackie Ellis and her husband Jon; Ralene Curtis and her husband Randy, Jenna and Jared Buscemi. In addition she leaves two great grandchildren, Katie and Ashley Cooksey two step great grandchildren Amanda and Thomas Curtis and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8PM at the Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Dayton, Texas. Funeral Services to be held 10AM Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Louis Ramirez to officiate. Burial will follow in Magnolia Park cemetery, Dayton, Texas.

Phillips

Loyd Maurice Phillips 69 of Batson died Sunday November 9, 2008 at his residence.

He was born in Dallas Texas on November 8, 1939. He lived in Hull and Batson area most of his life. A man of many talents he was a Drilling consultant, he love his many outdoor toys. He loved fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren. He was a very dedicated father and grandfather.

Loyd is survived by his Wife; Mary Phillips of 38 years, Daughters; Melissa Myers and husband Rickey of Devers, Samantha Pickett and husband Ernie of Hardin. Son; Guy Phillips and wife Dolly of Hull, Sisters; Doris Tousha and husband Chester of Batson, Joan Reynolds and husband Joe of Ore City, Brother; Donald Phillips of Santa Fe. TX Sister-in-law; Linda Phillips of Batson, Brother in law; Jarvis Stovall of Batson. Grandchildren; 17, great-grand children; 10. And a host of many friends’ nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held today Monday November 10, 2008 beginning at 5:00 P.M. Until 9:00 P.M at New Life Assembly of God church of Batson. There will be a service of remembrance held also Monday November 10, 2008 beginning at 7:00 P.M. At the church.

Memorial contributions maybe made to Habitat for hope 2041 Locke-Cuba Middleton TN. A private committal will take place Tuesday November 11, 2008 at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Funeral Services are pending for Shirley M. David, 60, of Ames, Texas.

She died Sunday November 9, 2008 at San Jacinto Methodist Alexander Rehab Center in Baytown, Texas.

Roberts

Clarence Orval “Bobby” Roberts, 84, of Liberty died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 in Liberty.

He was born November 25, 1924 in Houston, Texas to parents: Clarence Orval and Eva L. Pace Roberts. He graduated from Central High School, Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1941, attended Purdue University and received his masters at Pepperdine University. Mr. Roberts had been a lifetime resident of this area, working in the banking and oilfield industry. He was a charter member of the Magnolia Ridge Country Club.

Services for Mr. Roberts will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2008 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cooke cemetery in Liberty.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Joe Muriel Roberts; daughter: Rebecca Jo Roberts. He is survived by his son: Michael G. Roberts and wife Barbara of Crosby; grandchildren: Christopher M. Roberts of Austin; Stefanie Taylor and husband Brandon Taylor of Crosby; and Kayla Roberts of Crosby; great-grandson of Colin Roberts of Crosby; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Thrasher

Lewis Daniel Thrasher, 62, of Huffman, Texas died Monday, November 3, 2008. He was born on January 20, 1946 in Cleveland, Texas to Lewis Daniel and Minnie Sarah (Coyle) Thrasher. Lewis was an outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. Lewis also loved spending time with his family.

Lewis is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laura Thrasher; brothers, Daniel Woods, Elijah Thrasher, and Mack Thrasher; sisters, Judy Earlene Thrasher Moore, Ila Faye Woods Burkes, and Edith Thrasher. He is survived by his loving wife, Ottie Thrasher of Huffman; son, Steven Thrasher and wife Jeán of Crosby; daughter Lisa Rhea of Huffman; grandchildren, Clay and Colby Thrasher, Garrett Beadle, Samantha Gardner, Abigail Rhea and Nathan Rhea; sisters, Naomi Thrasher and Jenetha Thrasher; brothers, Billy Thrasher, Marvin Woods, Lawrence Woods, and Gene Woods; and numerous more nieces, nephews and close friends.

A service of remembrance will be held Friday, November 7 at 2:00 PM at Sterling Funeral Home with interment to follow in Magnolia Park cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling Funeral Home 602 N Main St Dayton, Texas 77535. 936-258-2678.

Mason

Funeral services for Fred R. Mason, 81, of Panorama Village will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Cashner Colonial Chapel in Conroe with Rev. Guy Pry and Rev. Vicki Bishop officiating.

Burial will be in Garden Park cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, November 7, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.

Mr. Mason died November 5, 2008 at St. Lukes Episcopal Hospital in The Woodlands after a lengthy illness. He was born in Dayton, Texas, December 6, 1926 to George and Nina Mason. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1943 and attended Texas A&M. At that time, he proudly joined the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Rockingham and USS Dauphin Landing Craft in WWII. In 1950, he married his loving wife, Margaret McClurg Mason, and they moved to Newgulf, Texas. He worked for Texas Gulf Sulphur Company for 33 years in the warehouse and accounting departments. While in Newgulf he was very active in the Little League Program, a referee for Junior High and freshman football and a member of the Methodist Church. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Panorama Village in 1983.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Douglas Lynn Mason, brothers Leonard and Col. George Mason, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Mason; brothers, Ray Mason and wife Vinnie and William “Bill” Mason and wife Linda; sisters-in-law, Lily Mason and Nelle Mason; daughters, Sheri Jackson and husband Jim, Beverly Wenzel, Rev. Vicki Bishop and husband Eric, and JoAnn Mason Placette and husband John; grandchildren, Cylinda White and fiancé Tommy Rolf, Kevin Smith, Brian Wenzel, Brent Wenzel and wife Kelly, Beau Bishop and wife Amy, Chase Bishop and wife Kayla, Jaclyn Lepien and husband Michael, Natalie Ford and husband Russ, Zachary Mason; great-grandsons, Blayne White, Brett White, Cooper Wenzel, Cadon Lepin; and great granddaughter, Brynn White. Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, 10060 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas 77054.

Mauboules

Alice Kathryn Fruge Mauboules, age 103 died Tuesday November 4, 2008 in Beaumont.

She was born February 13, 1905 the daughter of the late Augustine Fruge and Clara Landry Fruge in South Crowley, LA. She wed December 4, 1921 to her beloved husband Alexander Peter “Big Jake” Mauboules who preceded her in 1961. A rice farmer in Winnie, Texas she enjoyed sewing her own dresses, tatting, embroidering linens and gardening.

Besides her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Andy, Harris, Anie, Allie, Lisa, Alice, Amy, Rose, Theresea, E.J.”Buddy, ” and Andrus. In addition she was also preceded in death by a son Elvin James Mauboules and a grandson Milton Mauboules.

She leaves behind her; brother Lawrence Fruge; grandchildren Jacqueline Ann Golden; Marna Kay Roby; Elvin James Mauboules Jr.; and Mark S. Mauboules. Alice also leaves seven great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and great-great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday at the Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St. Dayton, Texas. Funeral Services to be held at the funeral home Saturday 11AM with entombment to follow in Forest Lawn cemetery, Beaumont.

Stark

Otis Stark, Jr., age 50, of Dayton, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008.

Mr. Stark was born February 4, 1958 to parents Otis and Magnolia H. Stark in Birmingham, Alabama.

Otis graduated from high school in St. Louis, Missouri. He was an assistant sales manager for Conn’s.

Services for Mr. Stark will be Monday, November 3, 2008 at 10:00 am at Pace Stancil Funeral Home chapel in Dayton. Visitation will be Sunday November 3, 2008 from 5:00 until 9:00 pm at pace Stancil Dayton.

Mr. Stark is survived by his wife Doris; daughter: Jennifer Davis and husband Darrell; son: Larry Nemy, Jr. and wife Cindy all of Dayton, his grandchildren Kaylee Nemy, Samantha, Sabrina and Austin Davis of Dayton and his sister Josephine Ruffin of Missouri.

Slankard

Cecil Elmo Slankard 87, of Batson died Friday October 31, 2008 at his residence.

A native and life long residence of Batson, Cecil was a retired Oilfield pumper for Adabelle lease of Batson; he was also an ordained deacon with Mt. Calvary Baptist church where he received his ordination March 26, 1955.

He was preceded in death by his daughter; Lynda Slankard and brother; Ewell “Duke” Slankard.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years Pauline Slankard of Batson, son; Cecil E. “Buddy” Slankard Jr and wife Brenda of Moss Hill. Brother; Merl Slankard of Batson, Brother-in-law; W.G. “Bill” Barnhart of Dallas. Grandchildren are, Kevin Slankard and wife LeighAnn of Liberty, Keith Slankard and wife Lacey of Baytown. Great grandchildren; Kaleigh Williamson, Michael, Kaylen, and Kaden Slankard.

A service of remembrance will be held today Sunday November 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. At Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Moss Hill, with Pastor Carlton Bailey officiating. Visitation was held Saturday November 1, 2008 at the church. Interment followed at Guedry cemetery of Batson.

Lockett

Funeral Service for A, . J. “Costell” Lockett also known as “Poppa”, 76, of Dayton, Texas, will be held Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Dayton, Texas at 11 A.M with Reverend V. R. Hylton, officiating with burial in Jones cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Service, Liberty, Texas.

A native of Liberty, he was a former student of Liberty Training High School. He was employed with the Chevron Corp. where he retired in 1984 and he was dedicated rancher.

A member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church he died October 28, 2008 at San Jacinto Regency Hospice in Baytown after an illness.

Visitation will be held from 9 A.M. until time of service at the church.

He is survived by a very special friend: Carolyn Ann McClure of Dayton, Texas, his mother Easter Quillian of Beaumont, Texas; three daughters: Joyce Barnum, Keshia Cosey, and Tallony Dickey; two sons: Michael Spencer and Chris Spencer; one sister: Ether Mae Walker; three brothers: Lawrence Thompson of Raywood, Texas, John L. Burrell of California, and Isiah Quillian, Sr. of Beaumont, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends
