Mitchell

Brenda Fay Frazier Mitchell, 65, of Dayton, died Friday, June 6, 2008, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital Alexander Campus in Baytown.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2008, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Linney cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Brenda was born January 5, 1943 in Vanwort, OH to parents; Wilbur G. and Fay E. Roman Frazier, a former resident of Anchorage, AK, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 12 years.

She was a homemaker, member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dayton, volunteer with the Anchorage Literacy Project, and enjoyed painting, animals, camping, and fishing.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by parents and husband of 36 years: Edwin D. “Dan” Mitchell, II.

She is survived by her daughter: Kathy F. Mahdoubi of Dayton, son: John D. Mitchell of Dayton, brother: Will Frazier of San Antonio, sisters: Barbara Baening of Sweeney, Darnell Collier of San Antonio, and Theresa Frese of Vale, CO, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Johnson

Buffard Leon Johnson, 83, of Dayton died peacefully at home Sunday, June 29, 2008 after an extended illness.

He was born October 18, 1924 in Pioneer, Texas to parents: Pink and Irene Tyler Johnson.

He had been a lifelong resident of Dayton where he graduated from Dayton High School in 1943. He transported cattle and other products locally throughout the years.

He was a great long time participant in rodeos, enjoyed his horses, cattle and going on trail rides.

Service for Mr. Johnson will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Trousdale officiating.

Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Curtis Johnson and Donald Johnson; his nephew: Vern A. Johnson.

He is survived by his wife Roberta “Bobbie” Lawrence Johnson of Dayton; daughters: Sheral Skinner and Wyline Trousdale; grandchildren: David S. Skinner, Jr. of Victoria and Hannah Wynn Menger of San Antonio; great-grandchildren: Wylie and Cade Menger; sister-in-law: Eloise Johnson; nephew: J.D. Johnson; niece: Theresa Trousdale; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Bishop

Larry James Bishop, age 53, of Dayton, TX died Friday, June 28, 2008 in Ames, TX.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Sterling Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, Dayton, TX., at 2:00 P.M., with the Rev. Mike Smart officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn cemetery Highway 563 South, Liberty, TX.

Visitation will be held Monday from 5-8pm at the Funeral Home.

Larry was born on July 26, 1954 in New Iberia, LA., to Mack Henry Bishop and Rosie Lee Kutach Bishop. He graduated from the Liberty High School in 1972, and attended the University of Houston before working in construction as a welder for the Blue Water Construction Company. He was a member of the Assembly of God and enjoyed working in his garden, working his horses, and visiting with his family. Larry married Sharron Renee’ Day, and they made their home in Dayton, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Charles, Terry, Jerry, and David Bishop, and one sister: Francis Bishop Bell. Larry is survived by his wife: Sharron Renee’ Bishop of Dayton, TX., a son: Lee Allen Bishop and wife, Kayce of Dayton, TX., a granddaughter: Peyton Denese Bishop of Dayton, TX., two brothers: Tommy Bishop and wife Debbie, of Dayton, TX., and Johnny Bishop and wife Martha, of Liberty, TX., six sisters: Marie Wickerson and husband Ernie of Liberty, TX., Kay Sellers and husband Bill of Pine Bluff, AR., Nancy Oliver and husband Scott, of Stephens, AR., Ann Adams and husband Charlie of Stephens, AR., Maxine Chandler of Liberty, TX., and Barbara Cranford and husband Tommy of Stephens, AR., and several nephews and nieces and other family member, and a host of friends.

Parker

Betty Jo Chatham Parker, 79, of Dayton died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at home after an extended illness.

She was born August 11, 1928 in Houston, Texas to parents: Selled Franklin and Harriet Belle Gardner Caldwell.

She graduated from Jeff Davis High School in Houston and had been a long time resident of Livingston before moving to Dayton 10 years ago.

Mrs. Parker was a current member of the First Baptist Church of Dayton.

She enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, and gardening.

Graveside service for Mrs. Parker will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston with Rev. Randy Piatt officiating.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband: Hubert J. Parker. Sr.; the father of her children: Virgil W. Chatham, Sr.; daughter: Betty Gezelle Chatham; brothers: Howard Franklin Caldwell and sister: Mary Belle Caldwell. Mrs. Parker was survived by her daughters: Brenda Bronstrop and husband Buddy of Houston, Mary Ann Galik of Houston, Delane Chatham of Hardin, and Carol Tanner and husband Pistol of Tarkington Prairie; brother: Harper Gardner Caldwell and wife Mary Lee of Fort Stockton; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rose

Mark L. Rose, 54, of Onalaska, died June 18, 2008, in LaGrange, Texas.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton, with burial following at a later date.

Services are und3er the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mark was born July 5, 1953 in Chardon, OH, to parents; Colin A. Rose and Joan Morrison, a former resident of The Woodlands for ten years, and has resided in the Onalaska area for the past year. He was a former Harris County Reserve Deputy, Cisco and Exxon security guard, and photographer for the National Dragster Magazine.

Mr. Rose was preceded in death by his father: Colin A. Rose and mother: Joan Morrison Reed. He is survived by his wife: Debbie Matthews of Onalaska, son: Cory Matthews and wife Angela of Tomball, grandchildren: Brittany and Bradley Matthews, sisters: Penny Barnes of Katy, Debbie Weed of Kentucky, and Laura Buckley of Madison, OH, brother: Joe Reed of Madison, OH, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Castleshouldt

Margaret Loraine Neel Castleshouldt, 75, of Dayton died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 after an extended illness. She was born January 8, 1933 in Houston, Texas to parents: Fred Herbert and Cora Angeline Ward Neel. She had been a longtime resident of Highlands and a member of the Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Castleshouldt enjoyed music and cooking for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Julius “J.W.” Castleshouldt. She is survived by her son: Michael Bottos and wife Fredrinia Diane of Dayton, and James K. Hruby of Malaysia; her sisters: Dawn Rene Blaker and husband Jack of Fredericksburg, Donna Snook, Angeline Morgan, and Zelpha Hindmon; her brothers: Roger Snook, Buster Snook, and Danny Snook; Eight grandchildren; Six Great-grandchildren; numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service for Mr. Castleshouldt will be held at a later time. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Danberg

Robert Louis Danberg, 60, of Dayton, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at his home. He was born December 9, 1947 in Reno, Nevada to parents: Angus Louis and Hazel Estelle Chumbley Danberg. He graduated from Galena Park High School and attended Houston Fire Academy. He had been a resident of Dayton for the past 6 years after moving from Houston where he was employed by the Houston Fire Department, Uvalde Station #53. Mr. Danberg enjoyed camping, gardening and raising race horses. Most of all, he loved being with his grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Danberg will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 13, 2008 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Churchill County cemetery in Fallon, Nevada under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home. Visitation for Mr. Danberg will be 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Friday before the service at Pace-Stancil.

Mr. Danberg was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his daughters: Lisa Werner and husband Jimmy of Dayton, Mary Pickel and husband Nathan of Tomball, Tammy Danberg-Farney and husband Jeff of Houston, and Judy Danberg of Houston; his grandchildren: Ryan, Travis, Kristin, and Kaylin Farney, Charci, Shelby, and Tyler Werner, Alyssa Ellison and Christian Pickel; other relatives and friends.

Webb

Joyce M. Ishmael Webb, 63, of Dayton, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2008, at the City cemetery in Duncan, OK.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Joyce was born April 9, 1945 in Oklahoma City OK, to parents; Raymond James and Ruth Williams Ishmael, was a former resident of Crosby, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 13 years.

She was a graduate of the Duncan High School, a realtor for the Realty Associates Company, and former agent for Bob Edwards Realty after 17 years of employment.

She also enjoyed raising Labrador Retrievers, gardening, and reading. Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her father: Raymond James Ishmael, mother: Ruth Williams Coulston, husband: Roy Elmer Webb, and son: Gregg Dwaine Webb. She is survived by her sons: Corey Alan Webb and wife Jennifer of Dayton and Ronald Scott Webb and Amy of Crosby, grandchildren: Justin, Shelby, D.J., and one on the way, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Parker

Willie Robert Parker, 90, of Livingston, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the Magnolia Place Nursing Home in Liberty.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the French cemetery in Dayton.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m., to 9 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Willie was born December 12, 1917 in Burke, to parents; Willie and Mollie Serrett Parker, was a former resident of Kenefick, and has resided in the Livingston area for the past 20 years.

He was a graduate of the Dayton High School, WW II veteran of the US Army, a retired pipeline welder from the Houston Contracting Company, and member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge #825, Order of Eastern Star, and the Romayor Baptist Church.

Mr. Parker also contributed to building Baptist churches in Rye, Kenefick, and Holly Grove and the D.Y.S.A. sports park, and enjoyed cattle ranching, hunting with his Beagles, and music.

Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 67 years: Lillian B. Payne Parker, brothers: Preston and Leroy Parker, and sister: Lillireen Haley.

He is survived by his sons: Milton Douglas Parker and wife Martha of Livingston, David Allen Parker of Dayton, and Alvin Doak Parker of Cleveland, seven grandchildren: Paula Renee Cogswell, Robert Douglas Parker, Daniel Martin Parker, Mollie Suellen Leavins, Will Martin Daniel, Angela Carrol Parker, and Scott Ashley Parker, five great-grandchildren: Kaylee Lynn Parker, Kamryn Julieann Parker, Keaton Robert Parker, Avery Grave Leavins, and Reese Parker, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Hancock

Callie Ora Hancock, 94 of Devers died June 24, 2008 in Kingwood, TX.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 2 P.M. at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel in Liberty. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 27 from 6-9 P.M. at the funeral service. Burial will be in the Stacey cemetery in Devers.

Callie was born in Fannett, TX to parents Armender Hayes and Nora Josephine Wingate. She graduated from Devers High School.

She was a retired Nursing Assistant at Autumn Hills Nursing Home who loved sewing and cooking.

She was definitely a family person. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Devers and a member of the United Methodist Women.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hancock, parents, four brothers, and one sister.

Callie is survived by one son, James Thomas (Jimmy) Hancock of Brady, TX; two daughters, Thomasena Bradburn & husband, Mel of Atascocita, TX and Glenda G. Pitts and husband, James R. of Huntsville; brother, Armender R. Hayes Jr. of Baytown and sister, Mary Stayton of Baytown. Also, surviving are grandchildren, Kay Shackelford, Tara Bradburn, Hoyt Hancock, Brooke Holt, Brett Pitts; great-grandchildren, Casey Shackelford and Ty Shackelford as well as many nephews and nieces.

Arrangements were under the direction of Allison Funeral Service 1101 North Travis Street, Liberty, Texas 77575 936-336-6418.

Rodgers

Thomas Lynn Rodgers, age 65, died suddenly June 23rd, 2008 in Anahuac.

Tom was born in Jasper, Texas July 22, 1942 the son of the late Jack Preston Rodgers and Hazel Poindexter Rodgers. Tom moved to the Oak Island in 1995, he was the owner and operator for the past several years of Rodgers Electrical Service Inc. He was loving and kind, with a great sense of humor. His enjoyed fishing and golfing, but his passion was for his grandchildren.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of fifteen years Doris Lewis Zadroga Rodgers. He also leaves his children Shane Rodgers of Austin; Christine Cloudt and her husband Lawrence of Pearland; Tom Dewey Rodgers and wife Trish of Marble Falls; five grandchildren, Rain Rodgers; Shane Dewey Rodgers; Loren Cloudt; Katheryn Cloudt; and Tom Dewey Rodgers II.

He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Resein and a brother Gene Rodgers. Visitation will be held Thursday June 26th from 6-8pm at the Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Anahuac, TX.

Funeral services to be held 10 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Anahuac cemetery.
