Cunningham

Maude Null Cunningham, age 97, of Hardin, TX, died Monday in a Liberty, TX hospital.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 2:00 P.M., in the Hardin United Methodist Church, Hardin, TX. The Reverends Gideon H. Watson, Kitty Key, and Irby Slaughter officiating, burial in the Hardin Chapel cemetery.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Allison Funeral Service 1101 North Travis Street, Liberty, TX.

Mrs. Cunningham was born on October 15, 1910 in Fayette County, TX, to John Adam Null Jr, and Belle Arlt Null. She married Thomas Raymond Cunningham and they made South Texas there home for many years. They were members of the Hardin United Methodist Church and very active in the community. She enjoyed sewing and she made blankets and quilts for each of her grandchildren.

Maude is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and five brothers, and three sisters.

The survivors are two sons: Chester Earl Cunningham of Houston, TX, and Harvey Cecil Cunningham and wife Delores of Liberty, TX, a daughter: LaNelle Key and husband John H. Key Jr., a brother: Woodrow Null and wife Gloria of Waco, TX, nine grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.

Bradley

Funeral Service for Frances Bradley, 70, of Dayton, Texas, will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at 1:00 PM in Wells Memorial Chapel, with the Reverend Richard Ayers, officiating, with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, she was a domestic worker.

She died November 20, 2007 at Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 9 A.M. until time of service.

She is survived by six daughters: Wanda Nichols, of Baytown, Texas, Constance Reams, of Durham, North Carolina, Kim Martin of Hammond, Louisiana; Trina Westbrook of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sandra Hester and Kynisha Santee, both of Dayton, Texas; one brother: Leonard Santee, Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jimmerson

Charles Michael Jimmerson, we all knew as Mike, died at his home Saturday, November 17, 2007. He was born to Charles and Robbie Jimmerson in Baytown, Texas.

Mike had his own business, “Jimmerson Logging and Development” and was well know throughout the community and surrounding areas. He was a Cleveland High School graduate of 1972.

He was a fun loving person, always joking around and loved to laugh. Mike was devoted to his family and through the years enjoyed many travels with them.

He was a giving person from the heart and his family and friends will sincerely miss him.

He was 53 years old at the time of his death leaving behind his loving and faithful friend, his wife, Margie Jimmerson; his parents, Charles and Robbie Jimmerson; sons, Carey Allen Jimmerson and wife, Melissa, Charles Monty Jimmerson and Promise Buchanan; sisters, Robbie Dorlene Ellington and fiancé, Steve Rayborn, Terry Glen Childree, Brenda Gale Tew and husband, Marvin, Shelly Jorene Stendahl and husband, Mike, Kelly anine Cater and husband, Mike; sisters and brothers-in law, Beverly and Sammy Hood, Pam and Cris Normand, Tammy and Brad Williamson; nieces and nephews, Mark Ellington, Kimberly Ellington, John Daniel Childree, Tammy Lynn Wallace, Amanda Tew, Jake Stendahl, Abel Stendahl, Emily Cater, Logan Cater, Tiffany Wingfield and husband, William, Amber Redding and husband, PeeWee, Cristi DeBlanc and husband, Jason, Kelli Tomlinson and husband, Matt; special family, Gene and Glenda Coleman; countless great-nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other loving and caring family members and cherished friends.

Mike had his extra special K-9 friends and companions, “BoBo”, “GiGi”, and “Buster” who will desperately miss Mike.

Visitation was held Monday, November 19, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with a private funeral service held Tuesday, November 20, 2007.

Brown

John Samuel Brown Jr., 61, of Cleveland, Texas, died Thursday, November 15, 2007. He was born on October 4, 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida, to John and Gloria Brown Sr.

John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Odelia Brown of Cleveland; son, Rayne Mendez of Moss Hill; brothers, Ronnie Brown and wife Sherry of Vidor, Terry Brown and wife Deborah of Deer Park; and sister, Lana Erigsby and husband Charles of Spring.

A visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, November 19 and from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 20 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, November 21 in Houston National cemetery.

Jones

Carol Ann Marks Jones, born August 9, 1950 to parents, Alfred R. “Buddy” Marks, Jr. and Jo Ann Marks, died on Saturday, November 17, 2007. Carol was born in the old Mercy Hospital in Liberty, and grew up in Daisetta and Liberty. She was a 1969 graduate of Liberty High School, attended Gulf Park College, Gulf Park, MS. She received her Associate Degree from Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, TX and her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Phoenix. Carol was employed in the Liberty Independent School District Business Office as Bookkeeper for twenty-six years.

While a student a Lon Morris College, she met her future husband John Randel “Randy” Jones. After dating for awhile, they went their separate ways after graduation. Following the death of his first wife, “Randy” looked Carol up again, and they subsequently married on July 13, 1991. With this marriage Carol became Mom to his daughter, Kristy, whom she later adopted with much joy.

Carol’s greatest pleasure was in the theater, not only as a member of the audiences, but also as a participant. She was an active member of the Valley Players since 1974, and served in many capacities in that organization. She worked props, lights, sound at times, acting on stage, directing, whatever was required for “the play to go on”! She was well known for her memory and her ability to “cue” everyone in their part. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Liberty.

Her husband and her father, as well as grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Marks of Hull and Mr. and Mrs. S.C. Lynch of Liberty precede her in death.

She is survived by her mother; her daughter, Kristy Nicole Hendricks and husband Chris of Rowlett, TX; brother Russell “Red” Marks, and his wife, Mary Ellen of Liberty; brother, David B. Marks and his wife Gloria of Hull, TX. Two nieces, Kelley Ann Smart and her husband Stephen and Darcie Marks; three nephews, David Marks and his wife Marianne, Raymond Marks and his wife Misty, and Alex Marks and his wife Kaitlin. Aunts Geren Bruce of Florida, Sammy Stinnett and husband, Barnell of Liberty; great-nieces Macy Brunson and Krysten Marks; great-nephews, Ethan Smart and Landon Marks, as well as numerous other relatives and friends also survive.

Services will be held Monday, November 19 at 10 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Liberty. The visitation will be held Sunday, November 18 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty. Burial will follow the service at Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the First Methodist Church of Liberty or the M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.

Caruthers

Charles Timothy Caruthers was born in Batson, TX, on November 17, 1927 and died in Pasadena, TX, on Saturday, November 17, 2007.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2007 at Allison Funeral Home in Liberty, TX, with Dennis Floro officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Mr. Caruthers was a long-time resident of the Houston area. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II.

Individuals who knew him understood that he never met a stranger and his faith and compassion were shared with many as he served numerous years as a United Pentecostal Pastor in Daisetta, TX, and Baytown, TX.

He is survived by his son, Timothy Allen Caruthers and wife, Sharon, of LaPorte; daughter, Jan Floro and husband, Dennis, of The Woodlands; and son, Timothy McClendon Caruthers of Houston. He is the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He will be truly missed by everyone whose life he touched.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, The Sunshine Kids, or AMED Hospice.

Briggs

Ruby St. Julian Briggs, 88, of Dayton, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at her residence.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at the Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames with burial following at Ames Catholic cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday with rosary services at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Ruby was born April 30, 1919, in Stilson, to parents; Louis and Elodia Solomon St. Julian, and has resided in the Dayton area throughout her life. She was a custodian for Dayton ISD for two years and Liberty ISD for 25 years, member of the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and ladies auxiliary, and enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and flowers.

Mrs. Briggs was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Rodis Briggs, Sr., an infant daughter, sisters: Lillie Mae Paul, Agnes Pitts, Mable Hicks, Rosie Thompson, and Clara Raymond, and brothers: Luke St. Julian, Warren St. Julian, Columbus St. Julian, Lewis St. Julian, Dalton St. Julian, and Lionel St. Julian. She is survived by her son: Rodis Briggs, Jr. of Dayton, daughters: Mary Ann Pearson and husband Derbe, Jr. of Dayton, Leona Carter and husband David, Sr. of Dayton, and Eva Briggs Holmes of Dayton, sister: Bonnie St. Julian of Houston, brothers: Lawrence St. Julian of Los Angeles, and James “Jimmy” St. Julian of Los Angeles, nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Nixon

Annie Odessa Nixon, 92, of New Waverly, Texas, died, Thursday, November 15, 2007. She was born in Pine Valley, Texas, on January 13, 1915 to Augusta and Elma Niederhofer.

Survivors include her son, George Ronald Nixon; grandkids, Tambra Pursley and husband, Craig, George R. Nixon, Jr. and wife, Leslie; great-grandkids, Amber Pursley, Craig Pursley, Jr. Joey Pursley, Melissa Pursley, Racheal Nixon, Rebie Nixon, and Realynn Nixon.

Rev. Bob Hunt conducted funeral services Saturday, November 17, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Pine Valley Baptist Church with interment at Pine Valley cemetery.

Daniel

Sally Lee Carl Daniel died Monday, November 12, 2007. She was born April 8, 1942 to John and Lucy Carl.

Sally attended Liberty High School, and graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1963 receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, and a Master of Education in 1964. Sally was an educator in the Cleveland Independent School District for 35 years, retiring in May 1999. Sally’s mathematics and number sense teams received recognition on the local, state, and national levels.

On March 27, 1970, Sally married her kindergarten sweetheart Tommie Daniel, and continued to live in Cleveland. Sally was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Iota Psi Sorority, and the Prissy Missy Red Hat Society.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucy Carl, and her brother Earl Carl. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Tommie, her daughter Mary Nann McMullen of Monroe, Louisiana, her sister-in-law, Joyce Carl of Pollock, and her brother-in-law, Eddie Daniel of Houston. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2007 at First Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas.

Memorials may be made in Sally’s name to Families Helping Families, 5200 Northeast Road, Monroe, Louisiana 71203 or Calvary Baptist Church, Choir Fund, 816 N. Blair, Cleveland, Texas 77327.

Seaberg

Juanita Addington Seaberg, 93, of Dayton, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in Liberty. She was born August 12, 1914 in Mineral Wells, Texas, to parents Curtis B. and Lela Bertha Rackley Addington.

Mrs. Seaberg was preceded in death by parents, husband of 68 years, Roy A. Seaberg, Sr. and great granddaughter, Clara Seaberg Jabbour. She is survived by her three sons and their families, Roy A. Seaberg, Jr. and wife, Ruth of Huffman, Texas, Curtis A. Seaberg of Dayton, Dr. K. Robert Seaberg and wife Susan of Dayton, eight grandchildren: Sharon Nabhan and husband Mike of Austin, Dr. Elizabeth Jabbour and husband Salim of Dallas, Dr. Karen Seaberg of Dallas, Roy Seaberg, III of Huffman, Janet Seaberg of Austin, Allen Seaberg of Dayton, Stacy Seaberg Haselhorst and husband Todd of Houston, Shelly Hensley and husband Rick of San Antonio, great-grandchildren: Vince Costa, Sophia Costa, Josepha Costa, Curtis Seaberg, Courtney Seaberg, Hagan Hensley, Cathryn Hensley, Sydney Nabhan, and Rachel Nabhan, and extra special friend, Dollie Stone.

Services for Mrs. Seaberg will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jon Stouffer officiating.

Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Mrs. Seaberg was a life long resident of Dayton, a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, led Methodist Youth Fellowship and was a charter member of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. She was also a member of Stitch and Chatter Sewing Club, Woman’s Club, and Dayton Art League, serving in all capacities of these clubs.

Visitation hours for Mrs. Seaberg will be 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Dayton or the charity of your choice.

Neely

Lynd Edward Neely, age 86, of Daisetta, TX, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the home of his daughter, Renee in Magnolia, TX, with his children at his side.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel, with the Reverend Bill Mosley officiating. Burial will be in the Guedry cemetery, Batson, TX. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., at the Allison Funeral Service, Liberty, TX.

Lynd was a born on November 5, 1921 in Daisetta, TX, to Marshall J. and Francis Ward Tabor Neely. He graduated from the Hull-Daisetta High School and was a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division, during WWII. He married Tessie Maurine Lloyd, on May 7, 1949 in Hull. He was a pipe fitter, a construction superintendent, and a member of the First Baptist Church. Lynd was a rancher and enjoyed his cows. He was an “arm-chair” quarterback at fixin' up anything.

Lynd is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tessie Neely; a brother, Jack Neely, four sisters; Pansy Hood, Betty Joyce Robinson, Vivian Horton, and Marshall Davidson, and a grandson: Carter Logan Crews. The survivors are a son: Lynd E. ‘Bud’ Neely II and wife Barbara, of Chapel Hill, TX, three daughters: Peggy Tidwell and husband Alan of Hardin, TX, Patricia Jane “PJ” Peddy and husband Terry of Sour Lake, TX, and Diane Renee’ Crews and husband Steve of Magnolia, TX.; nine grandchildren: Scott Alan Tidwell and wife Elaine, Kori Lyn Hutson and husband Larry, Rusty Alan Tidwell, Lyndsay Elyse Neely, Zachary William Neely, Joe Peddy and wife Sherry, Laurie Robbins and husband Jay, Trent Lynd Gressett Peddy, and Connor Lloyd Crews; six great-grandchildren: Matthew Morgan, Hayden, Jacob, Laney and Joshua. Lynd is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Hull-Daisetta Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 639, Daisetta, TX 77533 in memory of Lynd Neely.

Law

William Harlan Law, 69, of Coldspring, Texas, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007.

Survivors included his loving wife, Yvonne Law; sons, Bruce Law, Brian Law, Matthew Law, Russell Wilburn and fiancée, Jacalyn; daughter, Lindsay Proctor and husband, Zachary; grandchildren, Angela, Falyn, Hunter, Justin, Emily, and Reagan.

Visitation is held Thursday, 11/15/07, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Coldspring Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, 11/16/07, 2:00 p.m. at Coldspring United Methodist Church with interment at Oakwood cemetery, Coldspring, Texas.
