Thibodeaux

Theophil ‘Tip” Thibodeaux, age 82, of Liberty, TX, died Friday, August 3, 2007 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007 at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel, at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn cemetery, Liberty, TX, A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Allison Funeral Service, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Tip was born on March 4, 1925 in Rural Devers, Liberty County, TX, to Willis and Ovena Blanchard Thibodeaux. He was one of 14 children.

Tip was a US Army Veteran servicing in WWII. He was in the battle of the Bulge, and saw action in France, and the Rhineland. After the service he moved to Houston, TX, and worked as a machine operator for the Hughes Tool Company for 37 years.

Tip was a member of the Baptist Church, and Park Place Masonic Lodge # 1172 A.F. & A. M., the Houston Scottish Rite bodies, and the Liberty-Dayton Order of Eastern Star Chapter 634. He loved to work in his garden, work in the woodwork shop, making sausage, and cooking for the family.

Tip was preceded in death by: his parents, four brothers: Willis, Roy, Noah, and Leo Thibodeaux.

The survivors are: his wife of Twenty Two years, Patricia Ann Cook Thibodeaux of Liberty, TX, a son: William Clayton Gaidosek, a Daughter: Charlene Gaidosek Wiseman, Five sisters: Lillie Collins, Juanita Moore, Caroline Martin, Anna Fregia, and Jeanne Berryhill, Four brothers: Joseph,
Chap, Phillip, and Phil Thibodeaux, and six grandchildren: Alanna Gaidosek, Derek Gaidosek, Devin Gaidosek, Allie Mae Wiseman, Abbey Gail Wiseman, and Justin Wiseman and a host of other family members.

The Pallbearers are: Kevin Berryhill, Roy Lee Coleman, Phillip Thibodeaux, Jack Thibodeaux, Claud Thibodeaux Johnny Thibodeaux.

The Honorary pallbearers are: Jason Thibodeaux and Lee Roy Bracewell. And a host of other family members.

Lee

Don Wesley Lee, 26, of Dayton, died Thursday, August 2, 2007, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 6, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Don was born August 21, 2007 in Channelview, to parents; Ernest Lee and Carlene Murphy, and has resided in the Dayton area throughout his life. He was a welder by trade, a loving father, husband, brother, and an amazing friend. He enjoyed spending time with his children and other family members, fishing, the outdoors, cooking, and sports. He will be remembered by always doing his best to try and please everyone around him, a caring and outgoing person that would help others in need and his biggest goal in life was to make everyone happy around him.

Mr. Lee as preceded in death by his mother: Carlene Murphy Cox. He is survived by his wife: Amanda Nasser Lee of Dayton, son: Cameron Lee of Houston, step-daughter: Skyla Robinson of Dayton, father: Ernest Lee of Dallas, brother: John Cox and wife Susanne of Dayton, sister: Christina Lee of FL, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Airrington

Lawrence Joe Airrington, 66, of Cleveland, Texas, died Monday, July 30, 2007. He was born in Garrison, Texas on June 12, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Hayword and Estelle McNutt Airrington; brothers, Calvin Ray Fulson and Bennie Airrington. Survivors include his loving wife, LaVerne Airrington; sisters, Merle Thomson of Carthage, Texas, Sue Cook of Pharr, Texas, Mary Hood of League City, Texas, Florine Walls and husband, Richard of Timpson, Texas, Maurine Richards of Irving, Texas; mother-in-law, Minnie Rogers of Gepp, Arkansas; brothers-in-law, Ken Rogers and wife, Kathy of Lake Jackson, Louisiana, Roy Rogers and wife, Dusti of Las Vegas, Nevada, James Rogers and wife Jodi of Viola, Arkansas, Dennis Rogers and wife, Leslie of Salesville, Arkansas and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and so many other cherished family members and caring friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Funeral services will be held at the Pace-Stancil Chapel, Thursday, August 2, 2007, 10:00 a.m. with interment at Morgan cemetery, Splendora, Texas.

Turner

Jessie James “Buster” Turner, 85, of Cleveland, Texas, died July 27, 2007. He was born in Cleveland, Texas on February 5, 1922 to Columbus Edward and Rosa Turner.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Turner. Survivors included his loving and devoted wife, Merdell Turner; daughters, Merdene Turner; Gerldene Turner and husband, Ric Sonnenburg; grandchildren, Shannon Metzler, Jesse Metzler, Gina Hart, Chuck Tolker, Chad Crosby; great-grandchildren, Kailey Metzler, Turner Metzler, Michael Hart, Kristin Hart, Zachary Hart, (Adopted) Adrene Hart; and many other cherished family members and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Magnolia cemetery, Evergreen, Texas

Smikal

Michelle Suzanne Smikal, age 22, formally of Dayton, died in Dallas, July 31, 2007. She was born January 21, 1985 in Channelview, the daughter of the late Bobby J. Smikal and Cheryl Lynn Menasco Smikal. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Emil and Rosie Smikal and Cecil Menasco. She is survived by her grandmother Renate Meier and her great-grandmother Emma Langenstein both of Karlsruhe, Germany. As well as her uncles and aunts, David and Mandy Smikal of Dayton, TX, Terry and Sheryl Smikal Dudley of Hardin, Anton and Martha Smikal of La Belle, Glenn and Christine Smikal of Humble, Mark Menasco of Noonen, GA, Rex Menasco of Hammond, LA and Edgar Menasco of Grand Saline. In addition she leaves a host of cousins.

Franklin

Linnie Lee Franklin, 87, of Cleveland, Texas, died Friday, August 3, 2007. She was born in Evergreen, Texas on March 17, 1920 to George Clinton and Mary Smith who preceded her in death along with her husband, Jodie Lee Franklin; her son, Roy Evans, Jr. one sister and three brothers. Survivors include her seven children, Doyle Clinton Evans, Sr. and wife, Mrytle Faye, Josephine Bell and husband, Willard, Bobby Joe Franklin and wife, Patricia, Lindon Russell Franklin and wife, Wanda, Frances Gobert and husband, Tommy, Linda Jean Armitage and husband, Henry, Betty Ann Bell; sisters, Rosa Lee Jordan, Dillie Mae Smith, Bonnie Faye Brinnigar, Velora Douglas Amos and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and so many other cherished family members and caring friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 3, 2007, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Oak Shade cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

Hughes

Leroy Hughes of Hardin died on Wednesday, August 1, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 11 A.M. at Hardin United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 3 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be following the service at Hardin Chapel cemetery in Hardin.

He was born on March 15, 1932 in Houston, TX to Leonard Hughes and Nancy Mason Hughes. Leroy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Philippines Sea. He was married to his loving wife of 47 years, Lydia Vela Hughes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leonard “Sonny” Hughes.

Leroy is survived by his wife, Lydia, two sons, Michael Hughes and his wife, Cindy, and Larry Hughes and his wife, Yvette; and his brother, Johnny Johnson and his wife, Linda.

Three grandchildren also survive; Joshua, Matthew, and Lucas Hughes as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jones

Funeral Services for Tristan Ray Jones, 25, were held Monday, July 30, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Valley Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Etheridge officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery.

A native of Baytown Texas he was a former student of Robert E. Lee High School. He died, Wednesday July 25 in Baytown.

He survived by two sons, Tristan Ray Jones, Jr. and Tristan DeShawn Jones, both of Baytown, his mother Darlene Jones Pittman and step-father: Andy Pittman, of Baytown; his father Bobby Ray Jones of Liberty; two brothers: Andrew Jones of Baytown and Henry Demond Dugat IV of Houston; four sisters: Tamera, Danielle, Sky, and Chantel Jones, all of Baytown and a host of other relatives and friends.

Rivon

Funeral Services for Bryclen James Rivon, 22, of Double Bayou, Texas, will be held at 2:00 P. M. Saturday, August 4, 2007, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Double Bayou with the Reverend Robert Jefferson, Sr. officiating with burial in Martha Godfrey cemetery.

A native of Anahuac, he graduated from Anahuac High School and worked as a pipe fitter. He died on Sunday, July 29, 2007 in Baytown, Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday from Noon until time of service at the church.

He is survived by his wife Misty Anne Walthen; two sons: Lex Pete and Willie James; his parents Willie James Bell and Francis Rivon; one sister DeVora Rivon and a host of other relatives and friends.

Dillon

Jeanette Elizabeth Dillon, age 80, died peacefully Monday at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Houston December 27, 1927 the daughter of the late Charles Gardner and Thelma Allison Gardner. Jeanette retired after 28 years of service from Lyondall Federal Credit Union as a manager in Channel View. She will be remembered for her love of family and her passion for gardening.

She leaves behind her loving sons, David Wheeler and Earl “Skip” Wheeler and his wife Kathleen, brothers George and Robert Chambers and a sister Eva Felice. In addition she leaves seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Don “Pop” Dillon daughter Brenda Frost, and two sisters Thelma Dorsey and Frances Webster.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-8pm at the Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St. Dayton. Funeral Services to be held 10am Friday at the Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Palms Memorial Park, Dayton, Texas.

Mizell

Wyona Marie Mizell, 80, of Liberty, Texas, died July 29, 2007 in Liberty.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2007 from 5-8pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis in Liberty. Funeral Services will be held at 10A.M., Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Allison Funeral Service with burial following at Cooke cemetery in Liberty.

She was born on October 11, 1926 in Ganado, Texas to John and Leona (Girndt) Reue. Wyona has lived in the Liberty area for 50 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Liberty, Texas. In her spare time she enjoyed going to the Liberty Opry, watching the Astros, cooking and most of all spending time with her family. Wyona’s life revolved around her family and friends, and they will miss her deeply.

Wyona is preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard Mizell; brothers, Louis Reue and Ben Reue. She is survived by her daughters; Rhonda Oreschnigg-Daly and husband Dan, Sheila Cook and husband Tim. Grandchildren; Lynne Oreschnigg, James Oreschnigg, Laura Clements, and Jessica Neely; great grandchildren, Cailin Oreschnigg and Conall Oreschnigg; brother James Reue; special friend, Bill Lunceford, as well as many other relatives and friends also survive.

Lawrence

Hellen Sue Lawrence, 89, of Dayton, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 in Liberty, after an extended illness. She was born January 20, 1918 in Fox, Oklahoma to parents William M. and Lizzie Mae Lahman Rush. She was a resident of Dayton for over 63 years where she and her husband raised their family. Mrs. Lawrence had been a member of the First Baptist Church, the Dayton Garden Club, and WMU.

Services for Mrs. Lawrence will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Norris Ritchie officiating. Interment will follow 2:00 p.m. at Brookside cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Alvin Lawrence, Sr., her grandson: Bret Donald Lawrence and one sister. She is survived by her sons: William M. Lawrence and wife Verta Sue of Dayton and Herbert A. Lawrence, Jr. and wife Sharon of Ohio; her daughter: Hellen Teresa Thamm and husband Fred of Dayton; grandchildren: Christi Raley and husband Jeff, William Floyd Lawrence, Scott Robert Lawrence, Jason Allen Gibson, Amanda Thamm, Crystal Turner and husband Chris, and Fred Alan Thamm; her great-grandchildren: Brittany Christie Lawrence, Emily Raley, Justin Lawrence, Steven Lawrence, Alyssa Thamm, Nicholas Thamm, Jason Thamm, Christian Vance, Maddison Turner, and Toby Thamm; also numerous other relatives and friends.

Pringle

David Lee “Jay” Pringle, Jr., 48, of Hankamer, Texas, died Saturday, July 28, 2007. He was born December 31, 1958 to David Lee and Ida Pringle in Liberty, Texas. David was a member the Anahuac Masonic Lodge, Baytown Shriners, and the Order of the Eastern Star. He liked to hunt and cooked, but he especially loved to work on hot rods and ride his motorcycle.

He is preceded in death by his father, David Lee Pringle, Sr. and his grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Connie Pringle; daughter, Jayme Leigh Pringle of Hankamer; son, Joshua Eric Pringle of Hankamer; mother, Ida Pringle of Hankamer; sister, Dee Hasson and husband Parker Sr. of Hankamer; brother Danny Pringle and wife Loretta of Anahuac; and numerous more nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday July 30 at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 31 at First Baptist Church of Anahuac with interment to follow in Barrow cemetery in Hankamer.

Bricker

Robert Morris “Buster” Bricker Jr., 86, of Liberty, Texas, died Saturday, July 28, 2007.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 10 A.M. at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 29 from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be following the service at Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty.

He was born on June 21, 1921 in Madisonville, TX . to Robert Morris Bricker Sr. and Sarah Speights Bricker. “Buster” was a active member in the Liberty community for many years, having served on the Liberty ISD School Board for eleven years, President of the Trinity Valley Exposition in 1984 -85. He also served as a Lifetime Committee member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. “Buster” served in the United States Army-Air Corp as a First Lieutenant (Navigator of a B-24). He just recently received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was retired from AT &T after 43 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 59 years, Marguerite Humber Bricker.

Buster is survived by his two children: James Bricker of McAllen and Patty Williamson and her husband Harvey of Hardin. Grandchildren are Cliff and wife, Melissa, Chris and wife, Shawna Williamson of Liberty, Jamie Bricker and husband Randy Brown of Irvine, CA and Denton Bricker of Dallas, TX. Three great grandchildren also survive; Reagan, Colton and Cooper Williamson.

Roark

James J. “Chuck” Roark, Sr., 91, of Eastgate, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in Houston, Texas. He was born October 22, 1915 in Walnut Springs, Texas to parents, Elijah and Bertie Lee Jones Roark. He had been a resident of Eastgate for over 52 years and had worked as a drilling superintendent for Tenneco before retiring. Mr. Roark was a 32nd degree Mason and served in the US Navy during World War II. He loved his family, enjoyed making early American furniture and was a member of the Gum Groove Baptist Church in Eastgate.

Memorial Service for Mr. Roark will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Adam Bender officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and sisters, and son James J. “Jimmy” Roark, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years: Ruby Roark of Eastgate; his daughters: Elizabeth Clarkson and husband Kenneth of Spring, and Judy Swan of Eastgate; seven grandchildren: Karen Fagerquist and husband Allen, Elizabeth Hendrix and husband Travis, Allison Stoner and husband Mickey, Chris Clarkson and wife Lisa, Kelly Washburn and husband Joe, James Roark, Jr., Evelyn Porais and husband Michael, seven great grandchildren, also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Roiter

Denny Michael Roiter, 34, of Anahuac, TX, died July 24, 2007 in Anahuac.

Denny was born on January 25, 1973 in Flint, Michigan to Gene and Janet (Powell) Roiter. Denny was a very hardworking and honest man that never met a stranger and would help anyone he could. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and most of all spending time with his family.

Denny is survived by his loving wife Cecilia Roiter, parents Gene and Janet Roiter, daughter Meagan Roiter, son Nathan Roiter, son Colton Roiter, son Caiden Roiter, father-in-law Dan Hardy, mother-in-law Sylvia Tanton, sister-in-law Jennifer Cooper, sister-in-law Stephanie Hardy, brother-in-law Dan Hardy Jr. and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday July 27, 2007 from 11am-1pm at First Baptist Church in Anahuac, TX. Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Friday, July 27, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Anahuac.

Youngblood

Winona Elise Theriot Youngblood, 93, of Liberty, died Monday, July 23, 2007 at Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital after an extended illness. She was born October 9, 1913 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to parents, Frank V. and Antoinette Sitgue Theriot. She was a resident of this area since 1945. She had lived in Orange and graduated from Vinton High School. Mrs. Youngblood was a member of the Hull-Daisetta Methodist Church, Methodist Women’s Society and a charter member of the Hull-Daisetta Study Club. She had been a bookkeeper for many years and a partner in an independent oil company. She enjoyed visiting friends, her garden and knitting.

Graveside service for Mrs. Youngblood will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 25th at Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty with Judge Phil Fitzgerald officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Mrs. Youngblood was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Jesse Youngblood, the father of her children: J.C. Massingale and her son: John C. Massingale, Jr. She is survived by her daughter: Mary Cain of Liberty, six grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild.
