Nick Anthony Troha, 59, of Shepherd, Texas, died at Park Plaza Hospital, Houston, Texas on Wednesday, June 13, 2007. He was born in Cleveland, Texas on July 15, 1947 to Nick and Allien Troha.

Survivors included his sisters, Mary Ellen Hadaway, Margaret Hadaway Page and husband, Jim; niece, Cathy Page O’Kane; nephews, Tracey Allen Page and wife, Becky, John Anthony Page and wife, Stacey; great nieces, Katie Page, Amy Page, Molly Page, Meagan O’Kane, Shannon O’Kane, Kasana Page, and Marissa Page along with many other cherished family members and caring friends.

Funeral services were held at Shepherd United Methodist Church, 3:30 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2007 with interment at Farley Chapel cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.

Jackson

Clyde Perry Jackson, Sr., 89, died on June 14, 2007.

He was born October 17, 1917 in Humble, Texas, son of Calvin Pope and Sarah Olive Conner Jackson. Clyde was a member of the Dayton High School Class of 1936 and attended Massey Business College. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He retired from maintenance Engineering Corp. in 1993 as Executive Vice President and was a deacon and financial chairman of the Garden Villas Baptist Church for over 25 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dayton, a member of the Bromelaid Society International, and the Cryptanthus Society.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jackson will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 17, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Dayton with Rev. Ray Cox officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 15th at the church.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Crystal Kay Jackson, sisters, Jo Valle Phillips and Janet Ott, son-in-law, Dennis David. He is survived by his wife: Arlette Wilson Jackson of Pearland. His sons: Clyde Jackson, Jr. and wife Veva Jackson of LaMarque, and David Jackson and wife Beth of League City, and his daughter: Kerry Jackson David of Coldspring; step-daughters: Bobbie Christenson of Big Fork, Mn, Joan and Richard Beaubouef of Pearland, Laniel and J.L. Vawter of Houston, Sandra and Wes Osiecki of Lewisville, and Debbie and James Gilbert of Pearland; numerous dearly loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother, Drew Jackson and wife Betty Jo of Dayton and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom and Marie Ott of Kingwood and Burney and Margaret Boudreaux of Pearland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton Historical Society

Carley

Aron Clebern Carley II, 28, of Dayton, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at his home. Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm Friday, June 15, 2007, at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton with Reverend Scott Niemeyer officiating. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park.

Aron was born on October 9, 1978 in Baytown, Texas to parents, Milton W. Carley and Carol J. Blythe. He attended Barbers Hill High School. Aron was an excellent guitar player and singer. He loved his dog Gidget.

He was preceded in death by his sister Megan Dawn Carley and his grandmother Naomi Carley. He is survived by his fiancée, Amy Terrell, mother, Carol Brown and her husband Todd Brown, father, Milton W. Carley, daughter, Kayla Rochelle Carley, sisters, Casey Carley, Lacey Carley, Jessica Swanson, brother, Joshua Swanson, grandparents, Aron C. Carley Sr., Joe and Billie Blythe and numerous other relatives and friends.

Clyburn

Doris Curry Clyburn, 78, of Pasadena, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007 in Houston, Texas. She was born November 27, 1928 in Evadale, Texas to parents, Elby and Bertha Mae Oliver Curry. She was a long time resident of Hardin where she was a member of the Hardin Methodist Church.

Services for Mrs. Clyburn will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton, with Rev. Gideon Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn cemetery in Houston, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Clyburn; sister, Juanita Curry, half-sister, Lavelle Devereaux, and half brother, Leon Duke. She is survived by her children: Betty Cassity and husband Bobby of Ace, Barbara Chandler and husband Jim of Rockport, Pat Green and B.J. Quinn of Baytown, Sherry McManus of Clearlake, Mary Ripper of Austin, Peggy Yerena and husband Javier of Baytown, Robert Clyburn and wife Heather, Marina, California; 17 grandchildren: Karen, Kelly, Tyson, Jennifer, Drew, Jacklyn, Katelyn, Jadyn, Krista, Tara, Jeffrey, Alexis, Cassity, Jessica, Justin, Karinna, and Angelina; 3 great-grandsons: T.J., Ethan, and Baby Trey; half-brothers: Robert Curry of DeRitter, LA, J.W. Schneiter

Tyler B. “Ty Bug” Schneiter, 7, of Dayton, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at the Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Tyler was born September 29, 1999 in Houston, to parents; Casey and Ashley Boyett Schneiter, and has resided in the Dayton area throughout his life. He was a student at Stephen F. Austin Elementary, member of the DYSA pitching machine Cardinals, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball, calf roping, swimming, and snow skiing.

Tyler was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers: Keith Mace, Bill Boyett and Ray Schneiter. He is survived by his parents: Casey and Ashley Boyett Schneiter of Dayton, sister: Taylar Schneiter of Dayton, grandparents: Terry and Renee Boyett of Dayton and Dr. Harvey and Donna Schneiter of Fannett, aunts: Angela Murphy and husband Clint, Amber Hall and husband Andy, Brandy LeBlanc and husband Clint, and Megan Schneiter, uncles: Cory Schneiter and Cody Schneiter, great-grandparents: Kathryn Mace of Dayton, Yvonne Boyett of Dayton, Carol Parker of Houston, Ann and Jim Fager of KS, and Dorothy Schneiter of KS, cousins: Andrew Murphy and Blake Hall, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Watson

Gary David Watson, 53, of Colmesneil, Tyler County, Texas, died Saturday, June 9, 2007. He was born in Cleveland, Texas on June 9, 1954 to D.R. and Frances Watson, Sr.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Terry Smith-Watson; father, Denman “Buck” Watson; mother, Frances Watson and brother, Johnny Watson.

He is survived by his daughters, Tressa Provost and husband, Stan, Joni Muskwinsky and husband, Will; grandchildren, TreLisa Provost, Stan Provost, IV, Kaylee Muskwinsky; brothers, Denman Watson and wife, Pam; sister, Linda McLelland and husband, Larry; fiancé, Debbie Guerrero; friends, Justin Methvin and Amber Guerrero; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and caring friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 16, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Abbott Springs Meadows cemetery, Corrigan, Texas.

Nealy

Dovie Mae Nealy, 79, of Crockett, Texas, died June 7, 2007. She was born on April 24, 1928 to Howard and Roxie Mae Vest, Sr. of whom preceded her in death along with her loving husband, William“Buddy” Nealy; son, Howard Vest, Sr.; sister, Esther Fay Vest-Parker; and brother, Charles “C.W.” Vest.

She is survived by her children, William Darrell Nealy, Janice Nealy Gilson Hood, Charles Lee Nealy; grandchildren, Lawana Lachelle Nealy, Darrell Dewayne Nealy, Carol Denise Gilson, Sheila Jay-Lynn Nealy Stockton, Angela Halona Hood; siblings, Eva Dell Vest-Wisdom, Mary Frances Vest-Thomas, Howard Vest, Jr., Roy Thomas Vest; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other cherished family members and caring friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2007, 12:00 Noon at Grace Church of Christ, 124 S. Grace St., Crockett, Texas with graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel cemetery, Crockett, Texas.

Ruth E. Morgan, 72, of Cleveland, Texas, died at her home June 13, 2007. She was born in Ft. Collins, Colorado on April 19, 1935 to Fred and Frieda Kerbel of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charlie Morgan; daughter, Mary Beth Garvin; sons, Tim Morgan and wife, Bertie, Patrick Morgan and wife, Bridget; sisters, Ruby Bass, Mary Jane Trunecek, Jan Collums; several grandchildren, with many other loving family members and caring friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, 2007, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. (Rosary at 7:00) at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2007 with interment at Cleveland Memorial Park cemetery.

Ayers

Herchell L. Ayers, 84, of Cleveland, Texas, died at his home, Saturday, June 9, 2007. Herchell was born February 14, 1923 to Floyd Franklin and Bertha Henry Ayers. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army, 536th Amphibian Tractor Battalion. He was owner and operator of Fox Vacuum in Daisetta, Texas. Herchell wed Alta Mae Barnett-Ayers, March 19, 1949.

He is preceded in death by his wife Alta Mae, his parents and his sister, Opal Carroll. He is survived by his son: Ray Ayers and wife Lynn; his daughter: Gail Page and husband Floyd; grandsons: Jarrod Land and wife Courtney and Dan Page and wife Lacey; Great-grandsons: Clayton Jake Land and Peyton Rock Page; brothers: Earl Ayers and wife Mary Jo, Dalton Ayers and wife Martha; sisters: Vivian Traylor and husband Edward, June Bush and husband Don and Melba Traylor and husband Shelby.

Funeral services for Mr. Ayers were held Tuesday, June 12, 2007, 4:00 p.m. at Rural Shade Baptist Church in Tarkington with interment at Ryan cemetery in Tarkington Prairie.

Bryant

Tawnya “Linda” Cheyenne Bryant, 56, of Dayton, Texas, died Saturday, June 9, 2007. She was born on August 15, 1950 to Ernie and Mary Jo Parker in Houston, Texas.

Tawnya was preceded in death by her father, Ernie Parker and brother, Jerry Parker. She is survived by her loving husband, Wesley Bryant; mother, Mary Jo Parker; brothers, Reed and Michael Parker; sister-in-laws, Barbara and Beki Bryant; and brother-in-law, Tommy Bryant and wife Joan.

A visitation for family and friends will be from 9:00 until 11:00 am on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Sterling Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday June 14 at Sterling Funeral Home. Interment will be at Houston National cemetery.

Schroeder

Bonny Marcus Schroeder, 82, of Humble, died peacefully Saturday, June 9, 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at the Atascocita Presbyterian Church with burial following at the Huffman cemetery in Huffman. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the church. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Bonny was born February 23, 1925 in Flint, MI, to parents; Angelo and Myra Rumbaugh Marcus, a former resident of Baton Rouge, and has resided in the Humble area for the past 36 years. She was a graduate of the Flint Northern High School, member of the Atascocita Presbyterian Church, Lake Houston Garden Club, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Atascocita Yacht Club, Atascocita Woman’s Club and enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, boating, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and many friends.

Mrs. Schroeder was preceded in death by her parents, husband: David Eric Schroeder, and brother: Harry Marcus. She is survived by her son: Mark Schroeder and wife Lucy of Huffman, daughters: Patty Williams and husband Dan of Humble and Cindy McCune and husband Bill of Humble, five grandchildren: Melissa and Kristin Williams, Meredith McCune, and Erika and Heidi Schroeder, sister: Betty Jane DeLaVergene of Flint, MI, her dog: Baby, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Woosley

David Donald “Don” Woosley, 72, of Dayton, died Sunday, June 10, 2007 after a brief illness. He was born February 11, 1935 in Coy, Arkansas to parents Luther and Lena Smith Woosley. He had been a resident of this area for several years, previously living in Lone Oak, Arkansas. He had worked for R & R Rental as a painter before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, working on old cars, and riding his tractor mowing.

Graveside Services for Mr. Woosley will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Magnolia Park cemetery with Rev. Mike Blackburn officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Woosley was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children: Wanda Woosley; step-son: Raymond L. “Ray” Chism; brother: Bobby Woosley; and father-in-law: Raymond Meagher. He is survived by his wife of 12 years: Sharon Meagher Woosley of Dayton; daughters:Diane Harper of California, Dawn Nelson of Dayton; Donna Beth of Nevada; sons: Charles “Billy” Nelson, Jr. of Dayton, Richard Woosley of Dayton, and David Woosley, Jr. of Hondo; brothers: James Woosley of Conroe and Jackie Woosley of Houston; sister: Karen Black of Arizona; mother-in-law: Leora Meagher of Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lewis

Taft Baldwin (PaPa) Lewis, 92, of Liberty, Texas, died on June 1, 2007 in Livingston, Texas.

He was born on July 3, 1914 in Bay City. He was a self-employed handyman of many trades. He was a very caring person who loved caring for his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by many whose life’s he has touched.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Erniter Britton Babbs Lewis, parents, and four brothers, five sisters and sons Herbert L. Babbs, Jr. and Nathan Babbs.

He is survived by three daughters: Yolanda Moye and Charles, Pamela Williams, and Juanita Nolley and Kevin; three sons: Jessie C. Babbs, Sr. and Patricia, Tommie O. Babbs, Terrence R. Babbs and Lashanda; also 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren He was a baptized Jehovah’s Witnesses for over fifty years and remained faithful until his death.

Services for Mr. Lewis will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3620 Hwy 90 in Liberty, Texas. A special thanks to his niece and nephew, John Henry Smith of Liberty and Dorothy Lewis Fisher of West Columbia.

Visitation will be Friday, June 8, 2007 from 1pm. till 5pm at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Sturrock

Services for Ralph Lloyd "Buddy" Sturrock, 84, of Gilmer, will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007 in the Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road, with Stephen Woodfin officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park cemetery. Mr. Sturrock died on Saturday at a local medical center.

Mr. Sturrock was born December 26, 1922 in Sour Lake, Texas to Barrett Travis and Mattie Greenwood Sturrock. He served as Sergeant in the United States Army and was a member of VFW Post 1183. He was a former Texas Prisoner Of War during World War II. Mr. Sturrock was a member of the Masonic Temple and Texas Farm Bureau. He worked as District Foreman and retired from Mid-Valley/Sunoco Petroleum. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lenard Sturrock and Milton Sturrock.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ralph L. II and Kathy Sturrock of Gilmer; daughter, Rhonda Sturrock-Bigham of Gilmer; grandson & wife, Ralph Lloyd III and Brenda Sturrock of Birmingham, AL.; granddaughter & husband, Angela Marie and Glen Lester of Birmingham, AL.; grandson, Richard Lloyd Bigham of Galveston; granddaughter, Heather Nicole Sturrock of Gilmer; grandson, Corey Lane Sturrock of Gilmer; and four great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 529, Longview, Texas 75606.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Adrian

Ina Fay Kinard Adrian, 75, of Liberty, Texas, died May 31, 2007. Ina was born on February 12, 1932 in Liberty, Texas to George and Edna (Davis) Derrington. Ina has lived in the Liberty area all of her life and worked as a pharmacy tech. In her spare time she enjoyed baking, especially her family’s favorite chocolate pie, playing the piano, watching the Astros, and most of all spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Ina was a very spunky woman who was a good mother, grandmother and friend she will be missed by all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Curtis Kinard; son, Bobby Joe Kinard and daughter Kathleen Kinard. She is survived by her husband James Adrian, son Billy Kinard and wife Gay; brother, C.W. Derrington, grandchildren; Kelly, Seth, Kerri, Jeff; nephew, Ray Derrington and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday June 2, 2007 at Allison Funeral Service from 5-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday June 3, 2007 at Allison Funeral Service with the Dr. Raymond McHenry officiating. In Lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the charity of their choice in Ina’s memory.

Zaruba

Jim Zaruba, Sr., 88, of Tarkington Prairie, died Friday, June 1, 1007 in Baytown after an extended illness.

He was born June 30, 1918 in Dayton, Texas, to parents Joseph and Carolyn Zaruba. He served during World War II in the Army Calvary and Air Force. Mr. Zaruba farmed for many years on the Reidland and Guthrie Farms before retiring.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Brother Brad Benoit officiating. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Zaruba was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Cassie Zaruba. He is survived by his daughter: Melodye Barta and husband Steve of Kingwood; his son: Jim Zaruba, Jr. and wife Margie of Baytown; his grandchildren: Jim Lucas Zaruba of Baytown, Phil and Mary Vera of Spring, Cliff and Sara Roberts of Houston, Marcus and Jessica Zaruba of Pearland; great-grandchildren: Thomas Roberts of Houston, and Karyssa Zaruba of Baytown; step-great-grandchildren: Robert Hernandez, Joshua Martinez and Janette Martinez of Baytown.
