Imogene Cloud
Services for Imogene Cloud, 89, of Elkhart, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Elkhart with the Rev. Howard Huhn officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Brookside Cemetery in Houston.
Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Grapeland, is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Cloud died Friday at the Grapeland Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 27, 1913 in Petty to John Phillips and Cora Bell Hammett Phillips.
Mrs. Cloud was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elkhart. She received her B.A., M.A. and mid-management degrees from the University of Houston.
She was employed by the Houston Independent School District. She taught second grade and then became an assistant principal. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Kappa Delta Pi, Texas State Teachers Association, Houston Congress of Teachers and the American Pen Women.
Mrs. Cloud was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Dennis Cloud in 1961; a son, Phillip Cloud in 1994; a sister, Frances Brady; and a brother, Claude Phillips.
She is survived by a daughter, Francine Gregg of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ned Williams, Quention Shaver, Jimmer Caveness, Sheldon Huff, Bobby Wilson and Fred Hessong.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Essie M. Johnson
Services for Essie M. Johnson, 88, of Port Arthur, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Alex Kobar officiating. Burial will be in Broyles Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson died Saturday morning in a Port Arthur hospital.
She was born March 12, 1914 in Carmona to Ace Meadows and Ada Fuller Meadows.
Mrs. Johnson married George Johnson in 1936. She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Palestine.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976; a sister, Florence Wilkenson; and a brother, Bob Meadows.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by sisters, Irene Richardson of Port Arthur and Ouida Weeks of Willis.
Pallbearers will be nephews Billy F. Johnson, Rusty Farmer, Jeff Johnson and Joel Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Perry and Johnnie Johnson.
Condolence calls will be received from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Oneida Stapp Hollaway
Services for Dr. Oneida Stapp Hollaway of Athens will be at 2 p.m. today at Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel in Crockett. Burial will follow in Latexo Cemetery.
Dr. Hollaway died Friday.
She was raised in Crockett. She attended Sam Houston State University and East Texas State University where she earned a Ph.D in English. She taught at numerous colleges, including Lee Bible College in Tennessee.
Dr. Hollaway was a life member of the Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Outy Lester Stapp.
Dr. Hollaway is survived by her husband, James Boyd Hollaway of Athens; sons, Leland Stapp of Athens and Perry Stapp of Lufkin; sisters, Earlene Brock of Lufkin, Zelma Wilson of Wichita Falls, Lowell Mayrant of Huntsville and Eulene Milwee of Crockett; and three grandchildren.
Iris Marie Posey Gross
Services for Iris Marie Posey Gross, 72, of Rusk, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Renfro Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville with the Rev. Jerry Neff officiating. Burial will be at West Shady Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Gross died Wednesday in College Station.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Davis died Thursday at Spring Season Nursing Center in Elkhart.
Samuel West
Services for Samuel West, 82, of Chandler, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Tabernacle Church of Deliverance with Elder Malachi Micheaux. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park under direction of Brooks Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors.
Mr. West died Saturday in Athens.
He was born May 28, 1919, in Palestine.
Mr. West attended public schools of Palestine. She lived in Chandler for the last 13 years. He was a railroad retiree.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthie West; son, John Wesley West; and daughter, Sammie Nel Sloan.
Mr. West is survived by sons, Leonard West of Fort Worth, John L. West of Chandler and Travis West of Palestine; daughters, Geraldine McClain of Palmdale, Calif., Dorothy Day, Helen J. West and Carolyn A. West, all of Chandler, Diane Wilson of Tyler and Josephine A. West of Athens; stepbrother, Louwell West and Curtis West of Palestine; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be brothers of Faith Tabernacle Church of Deliverance.
Audrey M. Allbritton
Services for Audrey M. Allbritton, 72, of Centerville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Buffalo Funeral Home with the Revs. Paul Ward and Bill Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Parker Cemetery in Buffalo.
Mrs. Allbritton died Thursday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
She was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Leon County to William Henry and Mary Alice Barnet Shaw.
Mrs. Allbritton came to Centerville from Conroe. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Joe L. Pate and G.T. Allbritton; and son, Gary Lee Pate.
Mrs. Allbritton is survived by sons, Jerry Lynn Pate of Buffalo and Robbie Pate of Mount Pleasant; daughters, Ruby Mae Brannen of Bremen, Ga., Janie Lynch of The Woodlands and Thelma “T.J.” Webb of Buffalo; brothers, Albert Shaw and Frank Shaw, both of Oakwood, and Edward Shaw of Centerville; sister, Eunice Carrigan of Centerville; five grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Ward Spain
Services for Ward Spain, 95, of Kilgore, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Revs. Rusty Silvertooth and Dave Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Mr. Spain died Wednesday in a Kilgore nursing facility.
He is survived locally by son, Roger Spain of Palestine.

Herschel Weisinger
Services for Herschel Weisinger, 64, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alief-Sharpstown Funeral Home of Houston with the Rev. Cliff Mayton officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer.
Mr. Weisinger died Tuesday from cancer.
He was born March 1, 1938, in Grapeland.
Mr. Weisinger is survived by his wife, Beverly Weisinger; children, Cindy, Herschel, Steve, Paula and Christy; and 11 grandchildren.

Services for Jessie Ives Stone, 87, of Elkhart, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Chapel with Archie Waldrum officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park.
Mrs. Stone died Monday at Wood Memorial Nursing Home in Mineola.
She was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Anderson County to Charles Wesley and Mary Broyles Ives.
Mrs. Stone was retired from Wood Memorial Nursing Home in Mineola where she worked as a nurse. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack P. Stone, in 1966; and daughter, Guinevere Chote.
Mrs. Stone is survived by daughters, Grace Newman of Mineola and Linda K. Lindsey of Irving; a brother, Rex Ives of Tolar; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Scott Lindsey, Charlie Toth, Mike Rogers, Ken Monk, Keith Monk and Kal Monk.

Mrs. Frech died Friday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Nov. 25, 1977 in Houston to James and Karen Deremo Mathews.
Mrs. Frech was raised in Iola where she was active in academics and athletics. She was a Classroom Champion, an honors student and Salutatorian of her high school class of 1996. She was a teacher at Madisonville CISD. She was a member of the North Madison Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Ryan Frech of Madisonville; parents of Iola; brothers, Layne Mathews and Lanny Mathews, both of Iola; a sister, Janya Hodge of San Antonio; and grandparents, Darrold and Betty Deremo of San Antonio and L.W. and Velma Mathews of Houston.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Elrod died Friday in a Tyler hospital.
She was born Dec. 25, 1929 in Grapeland to Christopher Columbus and Kate Ellisor Wright.
Mrs. Elrod lived in Palestine most of her life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 25 years. She was a housewife.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy F. Elrod of Palestine; son, John Calame of Kingwood; daughters, Lynn Rodriguez, Cecille Fondren and Dianne Stromberg, all of Dallas, Billie Norman of Palestine and Tiny Windsor of The Woodlands; sisters, Avalon Ingram of Grapeland and Mary Tucker of Palestine; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Gary Don Elrod, Sam Elrod Jr., Steve Kirby, David Kirby, Kenny Redd and Kevin Smalley.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
