Funeral services for Barbara Ann Berotte Hubert, will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Miles Baptist Church in Ames, Texas with the Rev. Dwight Pruitt officiating and burial in wells Memorial cemetery, Liberty, Texas.

A native of Liberty, she worked as a security guard. A graduate of Liberty High School, she died January 18, 2007 at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston after an accident.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of the service at the church.

She is survived by her son, Jeremey Hubert of Dayton, Texas; three brothers Wilbert Williams, Sr. of Beaumont, Texas; John Berotte and David Berotte both of Ames, Texas and six sisters: Kathleen Berotte of Pasadena, Texas, Willie Mae and Jewel Berotte of Houston, Texas, Carolyn Moore of Dallas, Texas; Laverne Berotte and Rhonda Berotte of Dayton, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.

Fingleman

Kendoyce Evelyn Jansen Fingleman, 80, of Dayton died Sunday, January 21, 2007 in Humble after an extended illness. She was born September 17, 1926 in Houston, Texas to parents: Otto Eugene and Virginia Brunson Jansen. She had been a lifelong resident of Dayton where she attended Dayton High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Fingleman worked for the Dayton Independent School District in Food Services for over 15 years. During this time she befriended many students with her caring love. She enjoyed her friends and cooking, but most of all loved her family especially her grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Fingleman will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at The First Baptist Church in Dayton. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fingleman was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 50 years, August Marcel Fingleman, her brothers: Wayne A. Jansen and Eugene Jansen. She is survived by her son David Fingleman of Conroe; her daughter: Virginia Chapin and husband Melvin of Elkhart; her three grandchildren: Leslie Danaher of Humble, Heather Currie and husband Craig of North Carolina and Matthew Gilbreath of North Carolina; also one great-grandchild on the way, other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends 5:0o until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Boyd

Beriah Creed Boyd 79, of Hardin, TX died Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Liberty Dayton Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2007 at 10 A.M. at the Allison Funeral Service in Liberty, TX. Rev. Tim Gruver will officiate. Interment will follow at Moss Hill cemetery in Moss Hill. Visitation will be Sunday, January 21 from 4 PM until 6 PM at the funeral home.

Beriah was born in to parents, Beriah and Mandy Creed Boyd on November 28, 1927. He was a retired painter for the railroad. He enjoyed gardening and visiting with his friends. He moved to the Liberty area from Channelview.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Clara Mae Boyd; brother, Judge Boyd.

Beriah is survived by his only child, Clara Virginia Boyd Skinner and her husband John William Skinner; one brother, John C. Boyd; and two loving grandchildren, Connie Ann Skinner and John Boyd Skinner.

Trevizo

Elias Lopez Trevizo, 56, of Chihuahua, Mexico, died Friday, January 19, 2007, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2007, at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial following at Palms Memorial Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, with rosary services at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Elias was born July 20, 1950 in Chihuahua, Mexico, to parents; Jesus and Patricia Trevizo Lopez, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past six months. He was the retired owner of La Palma Meat Market in Chihuahua after 25 years of ownership, of the catholic faith, and enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards, horses, and especially spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Lopez was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Roberto Lopez. He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Pilar Lopez, daughter: Laura Ivonne Lopez and husband Octavio Melendez, sisters: Yolanda Lopez and Patricia Lopez, brothers: Jesus Manuel Lopez, Ricardo Lopez, and Arturo Lopez all of Chihuahua, MX, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Griffin

Beulah Catherine Travis Griffin of Houston, Liberty and Kerrville died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the age of 90 after a long and wonderful life lived according to the maxim “To thine own self be true.”

Born December 25, 1916 in Shreveport, LA, Beulah spent her early childhood throughout Louisiana and East Texas. On June 29, 1938, Beulah married the love of her life, Justin O. Griffin, in Shreveport. Beulah and Justin were married for 61 years and delighted in the lives of their four children. Over the course of 43 years, they welcomed 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, all of which were their pride and joy. Beulah enjoyed a successful career as a Realtor in Houston from 1958-73. She was an active member in little theaters, DAR chapters, bridge groups, art classes and workshops, volunteer groups and the Charity Guild of Catholic Women.

Beulah was preceded in death by parents Claude and Miranda Travis, brother Claude Charles Travis Jr., sister Mary Travis and husband Justin O. Griffin.

She is survived by sister-in-law Mrs. Pauline Henderson of Monroe, La.; children Diane Griffin Gregory of Houston, Justin Michael Griffin Sr. and wife Blanche Griffin of Albuquerque, N.M., John Travis Griffin Sr. and wife Janice Frazer Griffin of Houston and Mary Catherine Griffin Cashiola and husband Lt. Col. Louis C. Cashiola, U.S. Army (ret.) of Great Barrington, Mass.; grandchildren Theresa D. Gregory and husband Martin B. Hajovsky, William A. Gregory Jr. and wife Kelly Ann, Douglas A. Gregory and wife Meryl, Karen Margaret Lake and husband Russell, Nancy K. Shadowens and husband Brian, Justin M. Griffin Jr. and wife Elaine, Mark F. Griffin, John T. Griffin Jr. and wife Kelly, Laura A. Richardson and husband Thomas, Elisa D. Cashiola, Ross G. Cashiola, Joseph A. Cashiola and Phillip L. Cashiola; great grandchildren Timothy and Nathaniel Hajovsky, Taylor Camacho, William A. (Trey) Gregory III, Jeremy, Barrett and Griffin Gregory, Laura, Margaret and Elizabeth Lake, Charlie Shadowens, Hannah, Justin M. III and Lilly Griffin, Julia and Lucy Griffin and Hunter and Ella Richardson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a whole world of friends.

Visitation will be held at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis in Liberty, between 6 and 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19. Funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Liberty at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20. Pallbearers will be her eight grandsons, Billy, John T., Doug, Justin, Ross, Mark, Joe and Phil. Honorary pallbearers are Edward Pickett of Liberty and Grif Carnes Sr. of Kerrville. In lieu of flowers, please hold Beulah in your fond memories.

Shoemaker

Orville Eugene “Gene” Shoemaker, 53, of Devers died Tuesday, January 16, 2007, in Houston, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 19, 2007 at 2 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty, TX with Rev. David Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Stacey cemetery in Devers, TX. Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2007, from 5 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.

Gene was born August 22, 1953, in Dayton, TX to parents, Melvin Eugene Shoemaker and Orva Wilma Evans Shoemaker.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Taylor Pipeline. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and gardening. He loved spending time with friends and family

He was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his wife, Mary Willis Shoemaker, one daughter, Hannah Lynn Shoemaker, one sister, Linda Hewitt and husband James “Tinker” Hewitt, one brother, Bruce Shoemaker and wife Bonnie, niece, Jodi Thompson and husband Charles, nephews, Chris Davis and wife Leigh, Zachary Shoemaker and Jeremy Shoemaker, Grand niece and nephew, Cali and Carter Thompson, and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Riffle

Rollin Clinton Riffle, Jr., 55, of Dayton, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 in Baytown, Texas. He was born September 3, 1950 in Heneritta, Oklahoma to parents W.E. and Mary Lee Keith Ingram.

He graduated from High School in Salinas, California, worked in transportation as a truck driver, loved fishing, camping, and outdoors. He had been a resident of Dayton for the past 10 years.

Mr. Riffle was preceded in death by his mother; two sisters: Dianna Ingram Haasl and Darlena Sue Baker. He is survived by his wife: Shelia Riffle of Dayton; sons: Rollin Riffle and Clinton Riffle both of Dayton; daughter: Marella Harper and husband Richard of Dayton; sister: Carlene Contreas of Modesto, California; five grandchildren and his special friend, his dog Brandy Riffle.

Arrangements were under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas.

Eakin

John Douglas Eakin, 80, of Batson Prairie, died May 10, 2006, at his home.

Visitation will be held, Thursday, May 11, 2006 from 5pm to 8pm at Allison Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 12, 2006 at 10:00am, at Allison Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Lance Hammond, and Reverend Wilburn Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty.

John was born on September 8, 1925, in San Augustine, Texas to parents, Oscar L. Eakin and Beula Wade Eakin. Mr. Eakin served with the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Boxer.

He was a master plumber and was owner of Doug’s Plumbing in Liberty. He was a member of the Batson Prairie Baptist Church, and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church of Moss Bluff, and was known as Uncle Doug throughout the area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Billie Eakin, brothers; Oscar L. Eakin Jr. and Ray Eakin Sr., sisters; Bennie Jo Eakin and Margaret Eakin, and a niece Linda Joyce Dossett.

He is survived by his wife, Lula “Jean” Eakin, sons; Don Hendrix, Harrell Jones and Allen Fregia, foster sons/nephews; Billy Wayne Eakin and Johnny Eakin, daughters; Billie Jean Mongiello, Donna Evans, Margaret Dagle and Faye Fregia, grandchildren; Dean and David Hendrix, Greg and Matthew Mongiello, Susan Saviano, Amy and Michael Evans, and seventeen step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

McManus

Beatrice McManus, 77, of Wallisville, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the Bayside Community Hospital in Anahuac.

She was born March 17, 1929 in Hineston, Louisiana to her late Parents: Elijah Eddlemon and Mary Samantha Teal Eddlemon. She had lived in the Wallisville area for the last 56 years, was a member of the Middleton Memorial Methodist Church in Wallisville and enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Middleton Memorial Methodist Church in Wallisville with Rev. John Black officiating. Burial will follow at the Worthy cemetery in Wallisville.

She is survived by: Sons: Charles McManus and his wife Brenda of Wallisville and Scott McManus and his wife Debbie of Wallisville; Daughters: Peggy Hill and her husband Sam of Anahuac and Donna Davis and her husband Howard of Liberty; Brother: Paul Eddlemon of Louisiana; Sisters: Essie Ward of Port Arthur and Sybil Ratliff of Lake Charles, Louisiana; 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: Husband: J. C. McManus and Parents: Elijah Eddlemon and Mary Samantha Teal Eddlemon.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2006 at the Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.

Wetherill

Tommy Wetherill, 69, of Anahuac, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at his residence.

He was born March 26, 1937 in Houston to his late Parents: Winslow Wetherill and Ruth Hubert Wetherill, was the owner of Techna-Craft Marine Sales and Service, lived in the Anahuac area for the last 40 years, grew up in Almeda where he graduated from San Jacinto High School and studied at the University of Houston and was a member of the Baptist faith. Tommy’s favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting and collecting guns and knives. He was also a history buff and a U.S. Army veteran.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Anahuac with Rev. Gary Hilyard, Albert Billingsley officiating. Burial will follow at the Anahuac cemetery under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. He is survived by: Wife: June Wetherill of Anahuac; Daughters: Melinda Rhame and her husband Joe of Anahuac, Robin Prejean and her husband Orrie of Anahuac, Julie Crawley of Baytown and Leslie Driggers and her husband Vincent of Anahuac; Sister: Betty Ruth Husser of Houston; 10 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Odyssey Health Care for their devotion.

Haynes

Edward L. “Red” Haynes, 64 of Dayton died on Saturday May 6, 2006 at the Triumph Hospital Of East Houston.

He was born on August 20, 1941 in Dayton to Parents: Herschel Haynes and Minnie Myrick Haynes. He was a pipe welder by trade and had been a lifelong resident of Dayton.

He is preceded in death by his Parents: Herschel and Minnie Haynes: and Sisters: Mary Morse and Myrtle Keenon. The family will hold a memorial service at a later time to be announced.

He is survived by his Sons: Bryan Haynes of North Carolina, John Haynes and his wife Donna of Liberty, Michael Haynes and his wife Michelle of Virginia and Jim Haynes and his wife Regina of Liberty; Grandchildren: Brittney Haynes, Kaci Haynes, Bethany Haynes, Seth Haynes, Aaron Haynes, Brooke Haynes and Brandon Haynes; Brothers: Charley “Nuk” Haynes of Kenefick, Cowboy Haynes and his wife Dorinda of Splendora, and Ernest Haynes and his wife Sarah of Houston; Brother-in-law: Buddy Morse of Dayton and Numerous Nieces, Nephews and many Friends.

Fredenburg

Naomi G. Fredenburg, 83, of Liberty, died Saturday, May 6, 2006 in Houston, Texas. She was born January 6, 1923 in Oklahoma to parents George C. and Ora Hanley Hughes. Mrs. Fredenburg had lived in the Liberty area for over 37 years and was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. She was a beautician for many years and had been in the Funnel Cake business.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the Liberty Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Cooke Memorial cemetery in Liberty under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mrs. Fredenburg was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 64 years, Moody Lee Fredenburg, Sr. She is survived by her sons: Moody Lee Fredenburg, Jr. and wife Marsha of LaMarque, Pete Fredenburg and wife Karen of Belton; her daughters: Debbie Hanagriff and husband Walter of Crystal Beach and Pam Dowell of Liberty; Eleven Grandchildren and Nineteen Great-grandchildren; Sisters: Nora of Lubbock, Rachael Alburtis and husband Sonny of San Angelo, Nelma Harrington and husband Al of Georgetown; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Fredenburg will be Monday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton.

Harris

Pamela Nichole Harris, 24, of Dayton, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas.

Ms. Harris was born November 9, 1981 in Baytown to parents Doug and Deborah Dean Harris. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dayton. She graduated from Dayton High School in 1999 and attended South West State University. For the past several years she worked for Austin Industries in Pasadena as a timekeeper.

Ms. Harris was preceded in death by her grandparents: Charles and Marion Harris, uncle: Earl Dean Jr., cousin: Charles Williams. She is survived by parents: Doug and Deborah Dean Harris of Dayton, brother: Jimmy Lee Sciacca of California, grandparents: Earl and Francine Dean of Dayton, numerous nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 8, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Dayton with burial following at Magnolia Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 Pm to 9:00 Pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Roy

Velma M. Roy, 78, of Wallisville, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Monday, May 8, 2006, at the Liberty Church of Christ with burial following at Anahuac cemetery in Anahuac. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Velma was born February 21, 1928 in Nacogdoches and has resided in the Wallisville area since 1950. She was a homemaker and former employee at Linda‚s Gifts in Anahuac, member of the Liberty Church of Christ, and enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, and canning.

Mrs. Roy was preceded in death by her parents: Dan and Lillie Mae Fisher McKey, sisters: Lula Mae, Ruby, and Thelma, and brothers: D.J. „Pug‰, Evan, Jessie „Son‰. She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Gerald W. „Shorty‰ Roy of Wallisville, daughter: Lucille Roy of Wallisville, sons: Mike Roy and wife Reva of Wallisville and Butch Roy and wife Marie of Raywood, seven grandchildren: Shawn Knight and husband Tony, Michal Harrison and husband Brent M., Nick Foreman, Amos Roy, Sara Johnston and husband Jeremy, Josh Roy, Brian Roy, five great-grandchildren: Tanner, Callie, Ally, Trace, and Caleb, brothers: Lonnie McKey, Edward McKey, Glen McKey, and James Stevens, sisters: Liz Jenkins, Etta Hieronimus, Bessie Owens, Hester Marie Donaldson, and Louise McShan, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
