Phillip Norman King, Sr. 72, of Liberty died on Wednesday January 5, 2005 in Houston.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Liberty, was a Tax Consultant by trade, and was a Veteran of the United States Navy.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Elton C. King and Marjorie L. Thomas King and his wife: Joyce M. King. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, January 7, 2005 at Cooke Memorial cemetery in Liberty.

He is survived by his daughters: Cindy King of Houston and Kelly Smart of Liberty; son: Phillip N. King, Jr. and his wife Susan of Cypress; brothers: Elton King, Jr. and his wife Wanda of Houston, Gary B. King of Sealy and Jay Kile King of Orchard, TX. and grandchildren: Frances Jean, Marie Smart and Nathan Smart, Jr.

Huntley

Terrie Williams Huntley, 44, of Old River, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

She was a native and life-long resident of the Baytown area, member of the 7th Street Church of Christ in Mont Belvieu were she was active in many church activities and also enjoyed collecting Hallmark Ornaments.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 10, 2005 at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Mr. Brad Benoit officiating. Burial will follow at the Tilton cemetery in Old River under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

She is survived by: Husband: Scott Huntley of Old River; Mother: Mittie Williams of Old River; Sons: Jerry Huntley and his wife Johanna of Houston and Kevin Huntley and his Fiancé Jennifer of Baytown; Daughter: Kristin Huntley of Old River; Brother: Chris Williams and his wife Kristina of Cove; Sister: Diane Thomas and her husband Ricky of Cove; Niece: Laura Thomas of Cove and Nephews: Westley Williams of Cove and Everett Williams of Cove. She was preceded in death by: her Father: Thurman Williams. Pallbearers will be: Ed Davis, Bob Wallace, Chris Williams, Colby Turner, Jimmy Gore and Ricky Thomas.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 9, 2005 at the Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Iler

Gerald Dean Iler, 68, of Liberty died January 3, 2005 in Beaumont at St Elizabeth Hospital. Services will be Friday, January 7, 2005 at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Cooke Memorial cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home

He was a native of Mt. Belvieu, TX and had lived in Liberty since 1968. Gerald was married to the former Patricia Goodwin. He attended Texas A & M University and played football under the legendary Coach Bear Bryant. He was a retired project manager for Texas Eastern Pipeline. He also served in the United States Army. Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing and ranching.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Deaden and Marie Iler and his brother, Charles D. Iler.

Mr. Iler is survived by his wife Patricia, four sons; Ronald D. Iler and wife Tammy, G. Scott Iler and wife Vicki, James C. Iler and wife Linda all of Liberty and son Eric W. Iler of Hardin. Brother Freddie W. Iler and wife Marilyn of Tarkington and sisters, Amber McFarland and husband Robert of Corsicana, TX and Ilene Lane and husband David of Baytown also survive him as well as eight grandchildren, Shane W., Stuart A., Caitlin M, Kayla D., Cara J., Colton S. Lauren E. and Catherine L.

Andress

Claudia Andress, 93, of Daisetta, died Monday, January 3, 2005 at Fairy’s Landing Nursing Center in Hull, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m. at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty with Rev. Tim Gruver of Heights Baptist Church officating. Interment will follow at Peebles cemetery in Livingston, TX. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 5 from 6 PM until 9 PM at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty, Texas.

Mrs. Andress was born in Mineral Wells, TX to parents, Wyatt Jefferson Driskell and Mary Eulettie Milliken Driskell. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and hat making. She was a member of the Eastern Star Hull Chapter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Calvin Hollie Andress, son, Roy Calvin Andress, grandchildren Karen Sue Wilson, Douglas Wayne Cooper and seven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Sybil Cooper and husband Duayne Cooper of Daisetta. Sister Letha White and husband Carnie White of Livingston, and granddaughter Paula Cooper. Tiffanie Wilson great granddaughter and great grandson Bryan and his wife Joy Wilson, Great- great grandchildren Nakaih Wilson and Sebastian Wilson also survive.

Kearney

Ruth Elizabeth Kearney, 78, of Liberty, Texas, died January 2, 2005 in Baptist Hospital, in Beaumont, Texas.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at Allison Funeral Service, in Liberty. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at 10:00am at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Bob Fosburgh officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn cemetery.

Ms. Kearney was born September 9, 1926 to parents George Purl Kearney Sr. and Mable Kellogg Kearney. She was a lifelong resident of the Liberty area. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge #182, Liberty, Texas. Ms. Kearney was a member of the South Liberty United Methodist Church. She was a retired postal worker. She enjoyed crocheting, and visiting with her friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother George Kearney Jr., and a sister June Patricia Kearney. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Frankie Kearney, and many other relatives and friends.

Alexander

Edward Lee Pee-Wee‚ Alexander, 63, of Dayton, died Saturday, January 1, 2005, at St. Luke‚s Episcopal Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Pee-Wee was born May 20, 1941 in Liberty, to parents; E. D. and Mary Parham Alexander, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 40 years. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, and enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, and loved his two dogs and the marsh.

Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Shirlene Wright Alexander of Dayton, daughters: Kelley Alexander of Dayton and Cheryl Alexander of Dayton, son: Jimmy Alexander of Dayton, sisters: Glenda Guthier and husband Fred of Houston and Sherrie Grimes and husband Randy of Dayton, brother: Bill Alexander of Pasadena, six grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pegues

Helene Lerlene Pegues, age 72, of Liberty, TX, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2005 at 3:30PM, at the First United Methodist Church, 539 North Main St., Liberty, TX, with Dr. William Newcomb, and Dr. Charles Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooke Memorial cemetery, Liberty, Texas. A visitation will be Saturday, January 1, 2004 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

Helene was born on February 2, 1932 to parents Hurbert Richard and Bernie Clifton Tramel. Mrs. Pegues was a native of Bruce, MS. She graduated salutatorian from Bruce High School and attended Wood College, Milsap, and Greenwood School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse. Helene was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was a caretaker to many people in the community.

Helene is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Dr. John Thomson Pegues Sr.

She is survived by her two sons, John Thomson Pegues Jr. and wife Tracy, James Richard Pegues and wife Tracy, one daughter, Virginia Marie Marcus and husband Mike, five sisters, Fran Murphy, Jean Taylor, Dot Tramel, Ann Jenkins, Dee Tramel, one brother, Ricky Tramel, four grandchildren, James Cullen Darbonne, Brittany Marie Darbonne, Jaclyn Moss, and Jared Moss, and extended family member, Stewart Beasley, numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Heathman

Bobby Heathman, 64, of Liberty, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at the Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty.

He was a native and longtime resident of the Liberty Area, a retired insurance agent, U.S. Air Force veteran and Graduate of Liberty High School in 1959.

He is survived by: Daughter: Amanda Heathman of Rosharon; Son: Danny Heathman of Austin; Sister: Opal Williams and her husband T.C. of Channelview; Nephew: Terry Williams of Channelview; Niece: Hollie Dunklin and her husband Charles of Channelview; Great-Niece: Candice Miller of Channelview; Great-Nephew: John Miller of Channelview and Mother of his children: Jean Heathman of Dayton.

He was preceded in death by: Parents: James Robert Heathman, Sr. and Beulah Jones Heathman. A service will be announced at a later date.

Dickerson

Dakota Lee Dickerson, infant son of Amber L. Hiveley and Michael L. Dickerson, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Dakota is survived by his mother: Amber Lashea Hiveley, father: Michael Lee Dickerson, brother: Tyler Dickerson, maternal grandmother: Delainya Laird, maternal grandfather: Daniel L. Hiveley, paternal grandparents: Fred and Patricia Fingleman, maternal great-grandparents: Elaine and William Laird, great aunt: Ronda Windemiller, and numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Peterson

Nathaniel Curtis Peterson, infant son of Charles and Bobbie Webb Peterson, died Thursday, December 23, 2004, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Graveside services will be held at 10 Am, Monday, December 27, 2004, at the Cedar Crest cemetery in Baytown with burial following thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Nathaniel is survived by his parents: Charles and Bobbie Webb Peterson of Baytown, maternal grandparents: Bobby and Paula Webb of Anahuac, paternal grandparents: Dean Peterson of Baytown and Wayne Peterson and wife RoxAnn of Lufkin, maternal great-grandmother: Betty Allen of Sour Lake, aunt: Rose McGregor of Channelview, godparents: Jon and Liz Odneal of Baytown, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Meyers

Dixie Meyers, 66, of Moss Hill, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at the Lexington Nursing Home in Houston.

She was a native of Houston, member of the Community Baptist Church in Moss Hill, longtime resident of Moss Hill and former owner-operator of the Hill Top Restaurant, Meyers Grocery and Meyers Furniture Store.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 23, 2004 at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Rev. Arnold Lopez officiating. Burial will follow at the Linney cemetery in Dayton under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

She is survived by: Sons: Walter Lewis Fitzgerald, Jr. and his wife Jan of The Woodlands and Phil Fitzgerald and his wife Amy of Moss Hill; Daughter: Karen Lemker and her husband Mike of Magnolia; Sisters: Johnnie Skinner of West Virginia, Marie McCall of Louisiana, Marilyn Joyner of Moss Hill and Janet Wahrenberger of Spring; Brothers: Mickey Holstein of Houston, Leonard Holstein of Tomball and Charles Holstein of Kenefick; 9 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Grandchild and numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by: Parents: Leonard Holstein and Mollie Wheat Holstein and Husband: Rev. Walter L. Meyers. Pallbearers will be: Chad Joyner, Jeff Joyner, Joshua Fitzgerald, Matthew Fitzgerald, John Wahrenberger and Richard Holstein.

Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2004 at the Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.
