Mason

Ray Shaw Mason, Jr., 50, died November 18, 2004 at his home in Hardin after a extended illness.

He was born November 19, 1953 to father, Ray S. Mason, Sr. and mother, Missy Mason in Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. He was the type man that always saw the glass half full. He had a great attitude and outlook on life. This attitude got him through life. Ray played football while he was in high school at Liberty High. Those who knew him loved him. He was a loving and hardworking father and husband to his family, which was his number one priority. He was the type of man that if you needed anything all you had to do was ask, and if it was within his power he would do his best to get it for you. He was honestly a man that would give you the shirt off his back. He was a man of many talents, his grandchildren could come to him with any question and he would usually know the answer, and if he didn’t he would find it. One of his many loves in life was playing the guitar. When he played with his band you could see it on his face, like watching a child at Christmas time. Another favorite thing to do was ride his motorcycle, he and Lynn rode their bike and participated in several of the rallies put on by “Biker Rallies of Texas”. He would tell you that he just wanted to get on the bike and “get lost” in the ride. They were joined by several of their friends that rode with them. It was the love and support of these friends and family that helped them get through this hard time in their lives. Ray was a man that if you knew him there was no doubt that you loved him. He has touched so many people and changed so many lives just by being a part of our lives. Ray Mason was what you could call a “true friend”, no matter what the situation. He will never be forgotten by the ones whose life he touched.
