Foster

Alma Louise “Sister Cotten” Foster, 81 of Batson, died Sunday, May 23, 2004 in a Beaumont Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at First Baptist Church in Batson. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson under the direction of Allison Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 5pm until 9 p.m. on Monday at the church.

Mrs. Foster was born October 4, 1922 to William Edward “Ed” & Kate Morris Cotten in Batson, where she lived all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Batson. She enjoyed talking on the “CB” and driving fast.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Edward Foster, Sr., parents William “Ed” & Kate Cotten and a sister Jewell Ruth Cotten Snider.

She is survived by her daughter Jo Ed Foster; grandsons James “Jimmy” Allen Flowers & Derek Lee Flowers.

Smith

Willie “Joe” Smith, 70, passed from this life Friday afternoon at his home. He was born November 14, 1933 in Finger, Tennessee. Joe, formerly of Dayton has been a resident of Galveston for 6 years. He was previously employed by Mims Meat Market and Dairy Queen.

Joe will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 20 years, Audrey; son and daughter-in-law Steve and Jackie Smith of Spring; son and daughter-in-law Ricky and Deborah Bradley of Humble; and daughter and son-in-law Michelle and James McElhaney of Dayton. He is survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Joe is also survived by two other sons Willie Jr. and Jerry . He leaves behind his four-legged family members- Cats: Campi and Lucky and Dog: Elvis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Troy and Sindy Aberdeen, his brother James Troy Smith and his sister Hazel Conners, all of Finger, Tennessee.

Services for Joe will be held 10:00, Tuesday May 25th at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Visitation will be 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. on Monday evening at the Funeral Home.

Livingston

Paul Alton Livingston, 40, of Michigan, formerly of Dayton, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2004. Memorial services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton with committal services following at Hardin Chapel cemetery in Hardin.

Paul was born on September 5, 1963 in San Augustine, TX, to parents James Paskel and Jutice Ann King Livingston. He lived in Dayton most of his life where he worked as a truck driver until he moved to Michigan.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter Diana Livingston of Baytown, son Anthony Livingston of Graham, TX, brothers James Livingston of Hillman Michigan and Mark Livingston of Marshall, TX, sister Pamela Maes of Center, TX and his twin sister Paula A. Quirk of Marshall. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Turner

Barbara Jean Turner, born July 13th 1925 in Westwood, California passed away at her daughters home in Garland, Texas on May 15, 2004.

She was a resident of Dayton, Texas for over 20 years and had worked many years in the printing industry for the Premier Printing Company in Houston, Texas.

She is survived by her two daughters, a son, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Now her heart and soul can return back to her true home, Honolulu, Hawaii, where she spent many happy healthy years of her youth. Rest in peace, Mom.

Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2003 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.

Walker

Herbert Walker, Jr., 55, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2004 at his residence.

He was a native of Liberty, lifelong resident of the Dayton and Liberty area, a Filler for Air Liquid, conducted a home bible-study group at his house, was a member of the Eastgate Church and a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Eastgate Church with Rev. Gerald Hilley and Rev. Mike Lee officiating. Burial will follow at the Wells cemetery in Liberty under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

He is survived by: Wife of 25 years: Ruthie Walker of Dayton; Sons: Albert Ray Walker of Dallas, Edward Elliott of Dallas and Kelvin Haynes of Dayton; Mother-in-law: Mary Elliott of Dayton; Brothers: Clifton Walker and his wife Stephanie of Baytown, Dennis Walker and his wife Debra of Baytown, Kenneth Walker and his wife Genie of Houston, Nolan Walker of Ames, Sylvester Walker of Ames and Johnnie Walker of Ames; Sisters: Jeanette Robbins and her husband Milton of Dayton and Pamela Stephens and her husband Will, Sr. of Baytown; Grandchildren: Tiffany Rochelle Elliott of Dallas, Taylor Renee‚ Elliott of Dallas, Kenisa Nicole Haynes of Dayton and Tristan Todd of Dallas; Aunts: Geraldine Smith and her husband Samuel of Ames, Janice Polk of Houston and Jo Ann Phillips and her husband Howard of Stephenville; Uncle: Earnest Lawson and his wife Ada Mae of Ames; Great-Aunts: Lizzie Terrell of Liberty, Annie Bell Ford of Liberty and Bertha Ford of Liberty; God-child: Shanee McGowen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: Parents: Herbert Walker, Sr. and Christine Bush Walker; Brothers: Donald Ray Walker and Rev. James Walker. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Eastgate Church until service time at 1:00 p.m. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Snyder

Garry Snyder, 61, of Old River, passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 in Old River.

He was a native of Corpus Christi, lived in Dayton for the last 8 1/2 years, previously lived in Baytown, was a computer operator in the petroleum industry and a United States Army veteran of Vietnam.

A gathering of friends will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. He is Survived by: Wife of 8 years: Vicki; Son: Steven; Daughters: Lisa and Christy and 5 Grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Blanchard

Mary M. Blanchard, 87, of Dayton, died Friday, May 14, 2004, at the Silver Springs Nursing Home in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 10 Am, Monday, May 17, 2004, at the Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton with burial at Palms Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mary was born October 2, 1916, in Church Point, LA, to parents; Theobert and Alida Daigle Blanchard, was a former resident of Galena Park and Raywood, and has resided in the Dayton area for the several years. She was a homemaker, Catholic by faith, and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Blanchard was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Adam Blanchard, daughter: Brenda Arceneaux, son-in-law: Alex Silva, and 13 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters: Kathryn Prejean of Houston and Dianna Shaw and husband Ray of Houston, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Clark

John E. Clark, Sr., 57, of Kenefick, passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 at his residence.

He was a native of Beaumont, lived in the Dayton area for the last 11 years, previously lived in the Galveston and Texas City Area, former owner operator of J&JEC Construction Company and was a United States Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2004 at the Whispering Meadows Baptist Church in Dayton with Rev. Roger Powe and Rev. Raymond Sjolander officiating. Burial will follow at the Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

He is survived by: Wife: Judy Clark of Kenefick; Mother: Maxine Clark of Dayton; Daughters: Pamela Barber and her husband Michael of Daisetta, and Rochelle Clark of Hull; Step-son: Charles "Chas" Herndon of Kenefick; Brother: Tommy Clark of Dayton; Sisters: Linda Roberts of Dayton and Patsy Clark of Alabama and 6 Grandchildren.

He was Preceded in Death by: Father: Charles Edward Clark, Jr.; Son: John E. Clark, Jr. and Grandson: Darin Clark. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 16, 2004 at the Whispering Meadows Baptist Church in Dayton.

Moore

Peggy Moore, 69, of Daisetta, passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 at the Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

She was a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, lived in Daisetta, for the last 34 years, previously lived in Houston, attended the New Life Assembly Of God Church in Batson and formerly was the Children‚s Church Director. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 17, 2004 at the New Life Assembly Of God Church in Batson with Rev. Bill Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Guedry cemetery in Batson under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

She is survived by: Sons: Doug Moore and his wife Donna of Indianapolis, Indiana, Robert Moore and his wife Carla of Daisetta, and Ricky Moore and his wife Annette of Hull; Sister: Judy King of Houston; 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2004 at the New Life Assembly Of God Church in Batson.

Archer

A.E. Archer Jr., 82, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday morning at a Baytown hospital. Memorial Services were held at 6 Pm on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Services concluded at the Chapel.

A.E. was born on August 22, 1921 in Baytown, to parents Arthur E. Archer Sr. and Lucille Cowan. He has been a resident of Dayton for the last 11 years. He lived most of his life in the Baytown area where he worked as a machinist for Exxon for over 50 years before his retirement. He was a veteran of WWII where he served in the Navy. A.E. was an ordained minister and a member of Eastgate Church. He was a member and past president of the Machinists Union in Baytown. A.E. Loved to play in his spare time. Throughout his life he had many boats and cars as well as owned and piloted his own airplane.

A.E. was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Martha Olbrich, brother Francis C. Archer and Niece Valerie Archer. He is survived by loving extended family Vita, Doug, Heather and Pete O’Reilly of Dayton, son Everett Archer and wife Cassie of Houston, brother Robert H. Archer and wife Shirley of Crosby, Nephew Robert Louis Archer and wife Susan of Santa Fe, TX, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hanson

Harvey Joe Hanson, age 42, died Monday at his home, in Houston, TX.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at the Allison Funeral Service 1101 North Travis Street, Liberty, TX. Burial will be in the Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty, TX. A visitation will be on Wednesday May 5, 2004 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Allison Funeral Service.

Mr. Hanson was born July 19, 1961 in South Houston, TX, to Harvey Joe Hanson Sr., and Leoda Oliver Hanson.

He graduated from the Liberty High School in 1980 and was a Automobile Body and Paint Specialist. Mr. Hanson loved to deer hunt and fish. He was a Protestant.

Mr. Harvey is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are, a daughter, Heather Hanson, of Humble, TX, four sisters, Jean Stastny of Houston, TX, Carolyn Wright of Austin, TX, Scharlotte Russell of Conroe, TX, and Patricia LeBon of Baytown.
