Till

Keith Till, 49, of Wallisville, died Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Saturday, September 27, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Anahuac with burial following at Anahuac cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Friday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.

Keith was born August 10, 1954 in Houston to parents; Leslie A. and Katherine Keith Till, and has resided in the Wallisville area for the past 45 years. He was an owner/operator of a property management business for ten years, graduate of the Anahuac High School class of 1973, Past Master of the Anahuac Masonic Lodge #995 AF & AM, Methodist by faith, guitarist for Al White and the Chaparrals and enjoyed music, playing the guitar, collecting antiques, coins, and Indian artifacts.

Mr. Till was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law: Lloyd Tompkins. He is survived by his wife of 30 years: Fay Tompkins Till of Wallisville, son: Rusty Till and wife Beth of Wallisville, daughter: Misty Till DeHoyos and husband Felipe of Wallisville, sister: Cynthia Smith and husband George of Estes Park, CO., brothers: Larry Till and wife Maria of New Orleans, LA, Jimmy Till and wife Linda of Jacksonville, FL., Richard Till and wife Marilyn of Oak Island, and Kenneth Till and wife Marianne of Zap, ND., mother-in-law: Mary Doughtie of Wallisville, four grandchildren: Kade, Kullen, Emily Till, and Logan DeHoyos, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of usual floral remebrances, donations may be made to the Hankamer Community Fellowship Church, in Keith's name.

Dugat

On September 21, 2003, Heidemarie “Heidi” Anja Dugat, a devoted wife, ultimate momma, proud Noni, and best friend, died.

Born on May 16, 1942, in Marktbreit, Germany, to parents; Robert Walsh and Elfriede Schoernberg Walsh, and has resided in the Barbers Hill area for the past 44 years. Heidi lived every breath of her life to the fullest as a dedicated Christian family woman and devoted wife for 43 years.

Proud of her Christian life, she served as a member of the Old River Baptist Church, and the past few years attended Mont Belvieu Assembly of God Church. Heidi was a graduate of high school in Germany, had worked for Mothers Day Out at the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Belvieu with 15 years of service, and enjoyed reading, shopping, and her sewing club meetings. In the midst of all that she accomplished in this life, her proudest and most fulfilling accomplishment was the family that she raised and loved everyday. She lived everyday of her life to be surrounded by the ones she loved.

Heidi was preceded in death by her father: Robert Walsh, husband: Larry A. Dugat, Sr., son: Jimmy E. Dugat, father-in-law: Leslie Dugat, and sister-in-law: Oletia Dugat. She is survived by her, son: Larry A. Dugat, Jr. and wife Tammie, daughters: Sissy Lowery and husband Steve, and Krystal Farmer and husband Coy all of Barbers Hill, mother: Elfriede Walsh of Barbers Hill, grandchildren: Jimmy and Anja Lowery, Brittany and Abbey Connally, Heidi and Larry A. Dugat, III, and Jaym Farmer, brother: Ronnie Walsh and wife Valerie of Barbers Hill, sisters: Jeannine Follis and husband Wayne of Barbers Hill and Nancy Walsh of Barbers Hill, sister-in-law: Lynelle Sikora and husband Daniel of Livingston, brothers-in-law: Wilber Dugat and wife Madine of Chireno, Verlin Dugat of Goodrich, and Douglas Dugat and wife Liz of Alto, mother-in-law: Margaret Dugat of Chireno, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 Am, Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at the Mt. Belvieu Assembly of God Church with Rev. Michael Norman and Rev. Danny Biddy officiating and burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Pallbearers will be Eularian Dugat, Steven Dugat, Doug Dugat, Neil Walsh, Ryan Walsh, and Anthony Dugat and honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Walsh and Darrel Dugat. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Heidi should be remembered as an outstanding and remarkable person who devoted everything to her family and would do anything for anyone. She will forever remain alive in the hearts and souls of those who loved her and could never be replaced in our hearts.

Fregia

Kenneth Hubert Fregia, 61, of Raywood, died Friday, September 19, 2003 at Liberty Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 22, 2003 at the Wilderness Church with Rev. James Crouthers officiating. Interment will follow at Crouthers cemetery in Ames. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 :00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Wilderness Church.

Mr. Fregia was born in Moss Hill and had lived in this area all his life. He was a truck driver and a member of the American Legion.

He is preceded in death by his father Hubert Fregia; one daughter JoAnn McCraw; brother Charles Fregia.

His is survived by his wife Dorothy Fregia of Raywood; daughters Carolyn Hilton & husband Clarance of Saratoga, Brenda Carr & husband Lance of Daisetta; sons Daniel Norris & wife Sarah of Liberty, Glen Norris; mother Bertha Fregia of Raywood; brother Raymond Fregia & wife Lolly of Dayton; sisters Joyce Vanya & husband Bill of Jennings, LA; Opal Mott of Raywood; sister-in-law Nicki Fregia of Beaumont; grandchildren Clarance, Jr., Matthew and Christopher Hilton, Chelsey Bailie, and Jacob Carr; Donna and Rebecca McCraw, Steven and Nathan Norris.

Gates

Albert Gates, 84, of Dayton, passed away Friday, September 18, 2003 at the Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty.

He was a life-long resident of the Dayton area, a retired machinist from Exxon with 35 years experience, attended the South Dayton Baptist Church and worked at Brookshire Brothers for 10 years. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 21, 2003 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with the Rev. Larry Akins officiating.

Burial will follow at the Heirlawn cemetery in Dayton under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

He is survived by: Wife: Esther Gates of Dayton; Daughter: Jeanette Shipman and her husband Leonard of Dayton; Son: Leo Gates and his wife Linda of Dayton; Brother: E. B. Gates of Moss Bluff; Half-sister: Epsie Campbell and her husband Huey of Dayton; 4 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Step-Grandchildren and 6 Step-Great-Grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2003 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Moorman

Virginia Idell Moorman, 78, of Liberty, died on September 14, 2003 after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Moorman is a sixth generation Texan. She lived all her life in Liberty County. Before her retirement she was the head teller at Liberty County Federal Savings and Loan. She is a member of the First Baptist church in Liberty.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lonnie Moorman; her parents V. R. & Elizabeth Fregia; brother, Richard Fregia and her granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Britain.

Mrs. Moorman is survived by a daughter Lonnel M. Britain & husband Jerry of Pasadena; son Willard L. Moorman & wife Jerry Clay; brothers Edmond Lewis Fregia and Jimmy Ross Fregia all of Liberty; grandsons Mark A. Britain of Pasadena, Steven L. Moorman & wife Rhonda of Yoakum, Russell D. Moorman of Liberty; great grandchildren Kade & Kole Moorman of Liberty and Molly & Megan Moorman of Yoakum.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 16, 2003 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty. A private graveside service will be held.

Green

Hazel Odell Green, 84, of Dayton, died Sunday, September 14, 2003 in Liberty after an extended illness.

She was a lifelong resident of Dayton and the daughter of Ben and Lisa Green. She is survived by her brother, Vernon Green and wife Jarmilla of Dayton and two nephews.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Greenville cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Visitation will be Monday, 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Sheffield

Mrs. Hazel Jeanne Sheffield, 76, of Dayton, died Saturday, September 13, 2003 in Houston after an extended illness.

She was a native of Cameron, Texas and had lived in Dayton since 1959.

Mrs. Sheffield was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Ladies Six Sunday School Class. She was very involved with her son’s Boy Scouts and sports activities. She and her late husband, Clyde were owners and operators of Sheffield Production Service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Sheffield, her parents, Edgar and Lorree Lowe and two sons, Russell and Larry Sheffield. Services for Mrs. Sheffield will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2003 at The First Baptist Church in Dayton with Rev. Randy Piatt officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood cemetery in Humble under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

She is survived by her sons: Mark Sheffield of Dayton and Kevin Sheffield and wife Carrie of Dayton; brothers: Rex Lowe and wife Edith of San Angelo; brothers-in-law: Billy Sheffield of Humble and Sherman Dial of Pasadena; sisters-in-law: Jean Sheffield of Tomball, Nina Smith of Humble, and Ola Marie Sheffield of El Campo; grandchildren: Sarah Sheffield, Chrissy Davidson and husband Bobby; Marcie Sheffield, K.W. Sheffield, Brandon Sheffield, Alyssa Sheffield, and Emily Sheffield.

Addington

James Lloyd Addington, 47, of Clute, died Friday, September 12, 2003 at home after an extended illness.

A native of Dayton, Lloyd had lived in Clute since 1974. He was a 1974 graduate of Dayton High School and had currently worked in the transportation business. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Linney cemetery.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents: John and Alma Addington.

He is survived by his son: Clint and wife Carrie Addington of Freeport; his grandchildren: Tyler Bright, Shelbie and Reilie Addington of Freeport; his brothers: John Curtis Addington, Jr. and wife Sharon of Nacogdoches, George Addington and wife Linda of Dayton, and Gene Addington and wife Fain of Dayton; his sister: Lela Holley and husband Gary of Kenefick; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brett Addington, Curtis Addington, Glenn Addington, Chad Addington, Wes Holley, Robert Holley, and Rodney Bode.

The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2003 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. In lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Giles

Mickey Jessie Giles, 73, of Liberty, died Friday, September 5, 2003 at Liberty Dayton Community Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 8, 2003 at Cooke cemetery in Liberty.

Mrs. Giles was born October 17, 1929 in Cottle County, Texas to Jimmy & Ida O'Neill Morton. She had lived in Liberty since 1970. She was a mother and vice president of Production for Sherie D. Giles Designs. She enjoyed sewing and bowling.

She is preceded in death by her husband Billy Giles and her parents Jimmy & Ida O'Neill.

She is survived by his daughters Virginia "Ginny" Rank of Liberty, Sherie D. Giles Houston; granddaughter Courtney Rank of Liberty; brothers Billy & J. D. Morton, sister Jackie.

Peeler

Elizabeth C. Rogers Peeler, 86, of Hankamer, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at the Kindred Hospital in Pasadena.

Graveside services will be held at 10 Am, Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at the Anahuac cemetery in Anahuac. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Monday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac

Elizabeth was born October 10, 1916 in Troy, TN to parents; Ira and Elic Calhoun Rogers, a former resident of Water Valley, MS and has resided in the Hankamer area for the past eight years. She was a homemaker, Baptist by faith, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing, and was an avid reader.

Mrs. Peeler was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 66 years: Leslie W. Peeler, Jr. in April of 2000. She is survived by her sons: Les w. Peeler, III and wife Nina of Hankamer, David Peeler of Florida, and Jim Peeler and wife Donna of Boling, daughter: Shirley Kephart and husband Ron of Las Vegas, NV, brother: Bill Rogers of Alamo, CA, 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, an numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
