St. Julian

Warren Gregory St. Julian, 82, of Ames, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2003, at his residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 Am, Monday, June 9, 2003, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames with burial following at Ames Catholic cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 Pm-9 Pm at the funeral home with rosary service at 8 Pm. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Warren was born February 4, 1921 in Dayton to parents Louis “Pete” and Elodia Solomon St. Julian, and has resided in Ames for the past 28 years. He retired from Exxon after 35 years of service. He served in the Army as an equipment operator with the 365th Engineer Regiment and was a veteran of the battles at Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe. When he returned from the service he enjoyed participating in rodeos at the Dayton FFA arena where he rode bulls. On one occasion he successfully rode a bull that no one else had been able to ride. While at the rodeo he met a barrel racer named Dorothy Norman and they were married on May 25, 1947. Warren and Dorothy were married 38 years until her death in 1983. Warren was a member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames and former member of the Knights of Peter Claver. He also enjoyed dancing, working cattle, and breaking horses.

Mr. St. Julian was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved wife: Dorothy Norman St. Julian.

He is survived by his daughter: Brenda Trahan and husband Oscar of Ames, son: Erroll St. Julian and wife Tammy of Dayton, brothers: Columbia St. Julian of Dayton, James St. Julian of Los Angeles, CA and Lawrence St. Julian of Los Angeles, CA, sisters: Lillie Mae Paul of Los Angeles, CA, Ruby Briggs of Dayton and Bonnie St. Julian of Houston, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Olney

Molly Kathleen Olney, 62, of Dayton, died at home after a lengthy illness.

She was a native of Houston and had lived the past few years in Dayton. She had worked as a supervisor in banking. She had away of making everyone seem special. She loved growing plants, was very creative, as well as a gifted and talented, virtuous and righteous woman.

Mrs. Olney was preceded in death by her father, Sherman S. Logsdon.

She is survived by her mother, Rhoda Doris Logsdon; her daughters, Susanne Diaz and husband Ramon of Houston and Lesli Kathleen Olney of Dayton; Sisters, Doris Welfl of Tarkington, Jackie Brown of Channelview, Karyn Melton of Tarkington, and Vivian Richardson of Dayton; Also three Grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Olney will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at Lakewood Church with Mrs. Dodie Osteen officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, 5:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Nelson

Lowell Reed Nelson, Chief Warrant Officer; US Army Ret., 67, of Dayton, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 Am, Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel in with graveside services pending at the National cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Lowell was born January 1, 1936, in Colchester, IL to parents; Russell and Myrtle Reed Nelson, a former resident of Houston and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 15 years. He was the youngest appointed Chief Warrant Officer for the US Army, retired after 20 years of service, served in Vietnam, received many decorations including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, obtained his Associate Degree in Business Management during his service, and was noted as an honorary Green Beret. He was the former owner/operator and instructor at the Huachuca Flying Service, was a truck driver for Dynegy of Mt. Belvieu for 15 years, and a member of the American Legion Post #521 and the Nolan D. Pickett VFW Post #5621. He also enjoyed playing the steel guitar, the accordion, working in the yard and on the computer.

Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his father: Russell Nelson.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years: Nadine Beck Nelson of Dayton, mother: Myrtle Reed Nelson of Milan, IL, daughters: Susan Woosley of Topeka, KS, Janet Newquist of Topeka, KS, Diana Nelson Reynolds of Atlanta, GA, Penny Nelson Snow of Atchison, KS, Maxine Nelson of Sierra Vista, AZ and Yvonne Byler and husband William of Oklahoma City, OK, Dina Tanner and husband Michael of Dayton, and Tonja Nelson of Germany. Son: Dan Clark and wife C.C. of Macomb, IL, brothers: Leroy Nelson and wife Agnes of Jackson, TN and Jim Nelson of Rock Island, IL, 23 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Little

James Roy Little, 83, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2003 at the Baytown Rehabilitation and Healthcare Facility.

He was a native of Henderson, longtime resident of Dayton, U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a retired Manager from Sealand Freight after 35 years of service. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Burial will follow at the Linney cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

He is survived by: Sons: Billy H. Little of New Caney and Danny R. Little of Houston; Daughter:Debra A. Little Mitchum and her husband Jim of Dayton; Brothers: Harvey Little of Tyler and Earl Little of Henderson; Grandchildren: Billy H. Little, John Wilson Little, James Christopher Little, Catherine M. Little and Kerrie L. Davis Baldridge and 5 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: Wife: Bessie Little and his Parents: John Little and Emma Dulin Little. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Adams

Cora L. ‘Miss Lee’ Adams, 64, of Cleveland, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at the Memorial Hermann SW Hospital in Houston.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 Pm, Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Rev. James Holt officiating and burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Sunday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Cora Lee was born September 6, 1938 in Cooper to parents; Earl and Velma South Hooten, and has resided in the Cleveland area for the past 10 years. She was a retired Clerk for Weingarten’s Grocery in Houston after 20 years of service and had also been previously employed by Florien’s Grocery in Houston. She was a member and greeter at the Cornerstone Church, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents and husband: John E. Adams. She is survived by her daughter: Tonya Drake and husband Wyatt of Willis, son: Mike Price and wife Joan of Conroe, five grandchildren: Mandi Yarbrough and husband Charlton of Willis, Tammy Babin and husband Sean of LA, Michelle Mahan and husband Sam of LA, Nicky Drake and wife Nikki of LA, and Robert Drake of LA, eight great-grandchildren: Justin, Brett, Tyler, Caleb, Christian, Colby, Cheyenne, and Celsie, sisters: Linda Preston of Irving, Sarah Casey and husband Steve of Conroe, and Edna Hornsby of Dallas, brother: Wesley Hooten of wills Point, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Terchiak

Wilma Jean Terchiak, 77, of Liberty, died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at Liberty Health Care Center.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 1, 2003 at LaMarque City cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty.

Mrs. Terchiak was a native of Beaumont a former resident of Texas City; she had lived in Liberty since 1996. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching TV.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest Lewis & Rilla Rady Booth Henson and her husband Edward Terchiak.

She is survived by her sons Mike Mill &wife Faye of Liberty, Eugene LaBove & wife Teri of Hot Springs, AK, and Richard LaBove of Beaumont; a sister Jimmie Randal of LA; 11 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis, Liberty, Texas 77575.

Hill

Colleen Tackett Hill, 79, of Dayton, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Dayton.

Memorial services will be held at 2 Pm, Saturday, May 31, 2003, at the Kingdom Hall in Liberty with Brother David LaFleur officiating and burial to be held at a later date in Kentucky. Cremation services under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Colleen was born October 30, 1923 in Olive Hill, KY to parents; Estel Tackett and Emily Tackett, a former resident of Chicago, Orlando, Fl for 10 years, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past three years. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness, a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, bird watching, travel, and shopping.

Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Pete Tackett, and sister: Maxine Tackett.

She is survived by her daughters: Edna Monk and husband James of Dayton, Louise Hornick of Orlando, FL, and Margaret Hill of OH, son: James Hill and wife Carolyn of AL, sister: Pearl Tackett of KY, nephew: Clayton Henshaw of KY, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Brannen

Lloyd Benjamin “Ben” Brannen, 59, of Liberty, left this world Tuesday, May 20, 2003.

Ben is preceded in death by his loving parents, Lloyd and Jeanette Bannen and niece, Velvet Dee Brannen.

Ben was bon March 25, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was a long time resident of Liberty, Texas where he was a commercial fisherman and owner of B and J Seafood. He is survived by his loving wife, Johnnie, his daughter, Kristi huff and husband, Allen of Deer Park, Texas; brothers, Larry Brannen and wife Roeuy of Liberty; Hershel Brannen and wife Karen of Liberty; two wonderful granddaughters, Allison Huff and Erika Ryan; nephews; David Brannen, Larry Brannen, Jr., Christopher Brannen, and Scott Laird. Also numerous family members and friends.

Ben was loved by all and will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM, Thursday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Funeral service for Ben will be 10:00 Am, Friday, may 23, 2003 at Pace-Stancil funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Hershel Bannen officiating.

Kaderli

Herman H. Kaderli, Jr., 87, of Mt. Belvieu, died, Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Friday, May 23, 2003, at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Howard officiating and burial following at Palms Memorial Park with Masonic Graveside Rites. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Thursday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Herman was born December 29, 1915 in New Braunsfels, to parents; Herman and Maude Mae Welch Kaderli a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in the Mt. Belvieu area for the past 42 years. He was retired machinist for Exxon of Baytown for 41 years after retiring in 1976, a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Belvieu, the Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge #321 and the Old River Masonic Lodge #1442 for 55 years. He also enjoyed woodworking and learning history.

Mr. Kaderli was preceded in death by his parents, grandson: Corey B. Kaderli, brothers: Roland, Alsie, Alton, Marvin, Dutch, and Ottomar Kaderli, sisters: Elizabeth Kaderli and Verda Mae Kaderli Trahan, and sister-in-law: Lois Elliott.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years: LaVerne Wolford Kaderli of Mt. Belvieu, son: Lee Ray Kaderli and wife Linda Sue of Mt. Belvieu, grandsons: Kyle Ray Kaderli and Brent Ross Kaderli and Staci of Mt. Belvieu, brother: Andy Kaderli and wife Joyce of Baytown, niece: Clydene Leftwich of Mt. Belvieu, nephews: Dwayne Elliott and wife Karen of Mt. Belvieu, Keith Elliott and wife Debbie of Hampshire-Fannett, Terry Elliott and Trish of Highlands, brother-in-law: Warner Elliott of Mt. Belvieu, sister-in-law: Myrna Leftwich of Mt. Belvieu, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Hood

Robert Martin Hood, 58, of Liberty, died Monday, May 19, 2003 at Liberty-Dayton Hospital.

He was a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Mr. Hood was preceded in death by his parents, Hurbert and Wilma Hood and is survived by his wife Novilea Hood of Liberty; step-daughter: Glenda Ferguson and husband Gaylon; step-son: Allen Skipper and Step-grandchildren: Holly Davis, Trey Davis, Sara Ferguson, Jake Allen, Stacy Diane and Justen Glyn Skipper.

A memorial service will be at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
