Hazel Snider, 47, of Hardin, passed away Friday, May 2, 2003 at her residence.

She was a native and lifelong resident of the Liberty area. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Burial will follow at the Hillside cemetery in Liberty under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

She is survived by: Husband: D. R. Snider of Hardin; Sons: Donny Ray Snider of Fort Drum, New York and Glen Nugent, Jr. of Liberty; Step-son: James Snider of Tyler; Daughter: Gwendolyn Nugent of Liberty; Brothers: George LaFrance of Liberty, Pete LaFrance of Liberty and Tommy LaFrance of Austin; Sisters: Gladys Ann Duff of Liberty and Samantha Stuckey of Liberty and 5 Grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2003 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Fortner

Pat Fortner, 65, of Hankamer, died Monday, December 9, 2002, at the Bayside Community Hospital in Anahuac.

Funeral services will be held at 10 Am, Wednesday, December 11, 2002, at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel in Anahuac with burial following at Anahuac cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 Pm to 9 Pm Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Pat was born Chicago, IL to parents; Peter Jebe and Minnie Christensen Jebe, a former resident of Clear Lake and has resided in the Hankamer area for the past 24 years. She was a graduate of the Anahuac High School class of 1955, and former employee of LindaOs Gifts and HillOs Grocery in Anahuac. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching basketball, football, and auto racing.

Mrs. Fortner was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 46 years: Charles Fortner of Hankamer, daughters: Donna Capps and husband Chuck of Aiken, SC and Loretta Pringle and husband Danny of Anahuac, grandsons: Charlie Capps and Kyle Pringle, and numerous other relatives, and friends. In lieu of usual floral remembrances the family request that donations be made to the American Heart Association at P.O. Box 20448, Houston, Texas 77225, in PatOs name.

Smith

Myron David Smith, age 74, of Dayton, Texas, died Sunday, December 8, 2002, at Magnolia Place Health Care Center in Liberty, Texas.

He was a native of Fort Smith Arkansas and a long time resident of Dayton. Smitty was employed by Dayton ISD where he will fondly be remembered as trainer for the Dayton Broncos and was often referred to as "Mr. Bronco." He served in the Army in the early 1950's.

He was the son of the late Arthur Smith and the late Kathryn (Cannedy) Smith and is survived by his one sister, Frances Allen of Pasadena and niece, Imelvia Adams. Also by a very good friend Bob Edwards.

Arrangements are being handled by Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, 1304 N. Cleveland Street, Dayton, Texas, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 10, 2002. Funeral Services will be at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 11, 2002, Rev. Wayne Hardin officiating. Interment will be at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton, Texas.

Koen

Koen William "Bill" Alexander Koen, 75, died at his residence Friday, December 6, 2002.

Services are planned for Monday 2:00 PM, December 9, 2002 at North Main Baptist Church with rev. Jim Clemmons officiating, burial will follow in the Hardin Chapel cemetery. The visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM Sunday December 8, 2002 at the church.

Mr. Koen was born March 28, 1927 in Tecula, Texas to parents Hugh Brown Koen & Bertha Elizabeth Alexander. He married Margaret Jaunita Jacobs, May 19, 1945 to this union was blessed 5 children. Mr. Koen was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard where he attained the rank of Seaman First Class. He retired from the Exxon Corporation as a Fire and Safety Coordinator. He was a resident of Grand Isle, LA, before coming to Hardin, Texas where he and his wife of 57 years have lived since 1987. Bill as his friends knew him was involved innumerous clubs and organizations such as; Boy Scouts, Masons, Cub Scouts, American Legion, Senior Citizen International Association of Fire Chiefs, Fireboard Commissioner of Liberty County, Lions Club, Rotary Club, Member of the United Way, Guest Speaker and Instructor for the Texas A & M Fire School and Lamar University Fire School and the International Association of Drilling Contractors.

Mr. Koen is survived by his wife Margaret Juanita Koen, of Hardin, Texas his 4 children Theresa Dianne Bruce & husband Douglas of Russellville, AK, Anita Jane Brown & husband Larry of Hardin, TX, William Michael & wife Edwina of Hardin, TX and Norma Mae Thibodeaux & husband Currnell James, Jr. of The Woodlands, TX by 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and by 3 brothers Herbet Koen & wife Betty of Hardin, TX, James Koen & wife Jeanette of Pattison, TX, Elgin Koen & wife Bessie of Baldhill, TX and by 2 sisters: Rachel Kersh of Hardin, TX and Omelia Rabner of Houston, TX.

Mr. Koen was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Norman, Eldren Koen and two sisters Opal Fenton, Janie Matthews and by one son Gary Wayne Koen.

Howard

Robert L. ÔBobO Howard, 77, of Wallisville, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Sunday, December 8, 2002, at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel in Anahuac with graveside services to be held at 4 Pm, Sunday at the LaPorte cemetery in LaPorte. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Saturday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.

Bob was born May 26, 1925 in Lockhart, Arkansas to parents; James E. Howard and Minnie Bell McCoy Howard, a former resident of Newport, AR and LaPorte, and has resided in the Wallisville area for the past 22 years. He was a retired Painter for Painters Local #130 at NASA, had attended the First Baptist Church of LaPorte, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and four-wheeling.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, son: Lonnie Dean Howard, and brothers: Prentice and Lonnie Howard. He is survived by his wife of 50 years: H. Marie Howard of Wallisville, daughters: Reva Roy and husband Mike of Wallisville and Nina Wesson and husband Don of Tacoma, WA, sons: Ricky Howard of Pasadena, Gary Howard and wife B.J. of Anahuac, and Bobby Howard and wife Maxine of Lama Rica, CA, brother: L. E. Howard of Newport, AR, 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lancon

Winnie Beth Lancon, 73, of Anahuac, died Thursday, December 5, 2002, at the San Jacinto Hospice Center in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Sunday, December 8, 2002 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Hillyard and Rev. Albert Billingsley officiating and burial following at Anahuac cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Saturday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.

Winnie Beth was born August 3, 1929 in Anahuac to parents; John H. Watson and Iris May Watson, and has resided in the Anahuac area throughout her lifetime. She was the retired Owner/Operator of Remember When Antiques in Anahuac and member of the First Baptist Church of Anahuac. She also enjoyed collecting stamps, and buying and selling antiques.

Mrs. Lancon was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Frank Lancon, and sister: Ann Cotton. Ashe is survived by her daughters: Sherri Curci and husband George of Anahuac and Marie Hart of Anahuac, seven grandchildren: Billie Smith and husband Allen, Beth Till and husband Rusty, Tommie Abell, Frank Garner, Brad Watson, Jabe Otwell, and Cody Hart, seven great-grandchildren, sisters: Ethel Grace Cumberland of Anahuac, Effie S. Dockens and husband Bobby of Anahuac, Lillian Lancon of Baytown, Vertie Theilig of Rhode Island, brothers: Johnny Watson and wife Marsha of Freeport, Harvey Watson of Anahuac, and Norman Watson of Angleton, and numerous niec3s, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Davis

Mary L. ÔNoo-NooO Davis, 82, of Kenefick, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at the San Jacinto Hospice Center in Baytown.

Graveside services will be held at 2 Pm, Saturday, December 7, 2002, at the Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Noo-Noo was born October 26, 1920 in San Antonio to parents: Henry Fulmer and Ora Va Carpenter Fulmer, a former resident of Houston and has resided in the Kenefick/Dayton area for the past 25 years. She was a homemaker, enjoyed painting, other crafts, gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Marshall L. ÔBuddyO Davis, and son: Marshall Glenn Davis. She is survived by her daughters: Jackie Kellebrew of Kenefick and Sabrina Carroll and husband David of Kenefick, sons: Raymond Davis of Kenefick and Darryl Davis and wife Ronda of Houston, nine grandchildren: Megan and Joseph Carroll, Dynzle and Devin Kellebrew, Pam, Cody, Tina, R. J., and Shane Davis, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Moore

Leonard A. Moore, 68, of Liberty, died Friday, November 29, 2002, at the Veterans Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 10 Am, Tuesday, December 3, 2002, at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James ÔJuniorO Kirkland officiating and burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Monday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Leonard was born June 21, 1934 in Parma, MO., to parents; C. A. Moore and Nellie Carr Moore, a former resident of Malden, MO., and has resided in the Liberty area for the past 26 years. He was the retired owner/operator of MooreOs Radiator and Muffler in Liberty after 25 years of service, graduate of the Malden High School class of 1951, and Veteran and Aerial Photographer of the United States Air Force with service during the Korean Conflict. Throughout his life he enjoyed family gatherings and travel, fishing, hunting, and reading.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Donna D. Moore, brothers: Jack Moore and James ÔJimO Moore, and sister: Ruby Opal Lane. He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Evelyn Pope Moore of Liberty, son: Eric Moore and wife Theresa of Liberty, daughter: Linda A. Christie and husband Tommy of Liberty, grandson: Daniel K. Christie of Liberty, granddaughter: Emily S. Moore of Liberty, brothers: Bud Moore of Chicago, IL and Pete Moore of California City, CA, sisters: Rosalie Keller of St. Louis, MO, Virginia Kantor of Chicago, IL, and Shirley Dean Mount of St. Louis, MO, ten nieces and nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

Williams

Bobby Gene Williams, 62, of Raywood, died Friday, November 29, 2002, at his residence in Raywood.

He was a native of Liberty, a lifelong resident of the Liberty, Moss Bluff and Raywood areas, a retired millwright from Syngenta and was a member of Moss Hill Assembly of God. He was also an avid outdoorsman and a 1959 graduate of Liberty High School. He was the son of the late Earnest Williams and the late Millie (Moss) Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy "Dee" (Jannise) Williams of Raywood; Two Sons: Bobby G. Williams, Jr. and wife Diadra of San Antonio and Jerry Paul Williams and Rhonda Taylor of Liberty; One Sister: Bonnie Brumley and husband Don of Houston and a Granddaughter: Molly Reagan Williams of San Antonio.

Arrangements are being handled by Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM Sunday, December 1, 2002. Funeral service will be at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home at 10:30 AM Monday, December 2, 2002 with Rev. Dan Guillory and Rev. V. R. Hylton officiating. Interment will follow at the Norris cemetery in Moss Bluff.

Lunday-Wallace

Frances ÔJoeO Lunday-Wallace, 84, of Deer Park, died Thursday, November 28, 2002, at the Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 Pm, Monday, December 2, 2002, at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services following at 2:00 Pm, Monday at Palms Memorial Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Joe was born July 10, 1918 in Bastrop to parents; Louis and Celia Petty Tiner, a former resident of Baycliff and Smithville, and has resided in the Deer Park area for the past five years. She was a homemaker, attended the Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and watching TV.

Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her parents, husband: James Wallace, father-of-children: Vallon L. Lunday, son: Gene Lunday, daughter-in-law: Virginia Lunday, sons-in-law: Tommy Sampson and Hugh Drake, and brothers: Johnny Tiner and Jimmy Joe Tiner.

She is survived by her sons: Kenneth Lunday and wife Bobbie of Deer Park and Norman Lunday and wife Debbie of Pasadena, daughters: Wanda Lenox and husband Curly of Georgetown, Darlene Rice and husband Tommy of Baytown, Betty Sampson of Seabrook, and Martha Drake of Sugarland, sisters: Ruby and Emmer, 22 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Small

James M. 'Jim' Small, 88, of Liberty, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty.

Private family memorial services will be held in West Texas, at a later date. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jim was born September 19, 1914 in Queen City to parents; Sam Small and Fannie Yancey Small, a former resident of Evant, and has resided in the Liberty area for the past 23 years. He was a retired rough neck and driller from oil field services in Odessa, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, former member of the Civil Conservation Corps, and enjoyed hunting and trapping, fishing, and gardening.

Mr. Small was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Herbert H. Small and Brance Small, and sisters: Dorothy Roberts and Serene Cobb.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years: Carol M. Small of Liberty, sons: Bobby Ray Small of Houston and Johnny W. Blackwell and wife Paula of Hardin, daughters: Janice Pryor and husband Cecil of Temple, Rhonda Dudley and husband Kenneth of Baytown, Debra Riley and husband Gary of Hardin, and Donna Burke and husband T. J. of Manvel, brother: Woodrow W. Small of Texarkana, 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, his friend: Tom Ware of Liberty, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society at 9002 Fm 1764, Texas City, TX 77591-2105.
