Charles 'Chuck' Cross
Services for Charles "Chuck" Cross, 65, of Longview will be held at 3 p.m. today, March 12, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Drew Buckner officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Cross passed away early Tuesday morning, March 10, 1998. Mr. Cross had been a resident of Longview for the past 15 years. He was self-employed with his Action Locksmith business and became known as "The Little Key Man" in East Texas. Mr. Cross loved to fish and was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; a son, Clay Cross; and his sister, Betty Hawley of Toledo, Ohio. The family received friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Bobbie Jean Fuller
GILMER - Graveside services for Bobbie Jean Fuller, 59, of Diana will held at 2 p.m. Friday at Enon cemetery with the Rev. Ray Thompson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home. Mrs. Fuller, a Baptist and a homemaker, died Tuesday in Longview. She was born Aug. 2, 1938, in Gilmer. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Carmen Holland
Graveside services for Carmen Holland, 88, of Longview will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, in the Old Jacksonville City cemetery with Welch Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Holland died Monday, March 9, 1998. She had been a resident of Longview since 1947. Mrs. Holland was a Methodist. She had worked in sales at J.C. Penney and Perkins Bros. department stores. Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Marshall Holland Sr., in January 1990. Mrs. Holland is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Holland Jr. of Longview; two grandchildren, William Holland of Tyler and Kathleen Holland of Denton; a sister, Sadie Murray of Plymouth, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda Helen Wylie Lanier
KILGORE - Memorial services for Linda Helen Wylie Lanier, 49, of Dickinson, formerly of Kilgore, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Kilgore First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mrs. Lanier, a teacher, died Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the McAdams Junior High School Library in Dickinson or to the American Cancer Society.

Melvin Pouncy
GLADEWATER - Services for Melvin Pouncy, 70, of Fort Worth, formerly of Gladewater, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church in Gladewater with the Rev. B.W. Lockett and the Rev. Bobby Moore officiating. Burial will be in Red Rock cemetery in the Red Rock community under the direction of Dearion & Davis Funeral Parlor. He died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, in a Fort Worth hospital. He was born Feb. 28, 1928, in Gladewater. He served in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy. Area survivors include Maggie Lee Fisher of Longview and Frank Pouncy of Palestine. Viewing will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral parlor and noon-1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

HENDERSON - Services for Lois Ritch, 78, of Henderson, formerly of Longview, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Slim Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Rusk County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Ritch, a Baptist and former grocery business owner, died Wednesday morning at a local hospital. She was born Sept. 20, 1919, in Laneville.

Graveside services for Emmett Smith, 40, lifelong resident of Longview, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Kelsey cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He died Tuesday evening, March 10, 1998, in a local hospital. Mr. Smith was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. Smith was a welder.

Juanita Vinson
Services for Juanita Vinson, 71, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview with the Rev. Bruce Wells officiating. Burial will be at the Fisher cemetery. Mrs. Vinson died Wednesday morning, March 11, 1998, in Longview. She was a native of Sweetwater, Okla., and a former resident of Kilgore. Mrs. Vinson was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker. She is survived by a daughter, Gail Vinson Bowen of Longview; three sons, Don Vinson, James Vinson and Cecil Vinson, all of Kilgore; a stepson, Boyd Vinson of Colorado; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Barbara Ann Brooks
Services for Barbara Ann Brooks, 58, of Longview will be held at 4 p.m. today, March 13, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray South officiating. Burial will be in Memory Park cemetery. Mrs. Brooks died Thursday, March 12, 1998, in a local hospital. She was born July 5, 1939, in Longview. Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker, a member of the Central Baptist and the Longview Bowling Association, and was elected to the Women Bowler's Hall of Fame. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband, Wayne Brooks; two daughters, Debra Heaberlin of Longview and Deana Diane Brooks of Tyler; two sons, Cameron Dale Brooks of Longview and Daniel Floyd Brooks of Tyler; her father, C.S. Bryant; two sisters, Leatha Walker and Sandra Gail Taylor, and one brother, Kenneth Wayne Bryant, all of Longview; and six grandchildren.

John Henry Childress
GILMER - Services for John Henry Childress, 60, of Jefferson will be held at 10 a.m. today, March 13, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home with the Rev. David Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Ore City cemetery. Mr. Childress died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, in Jefferson. He was born April 23, 1937, in Gilmer. On Feb. 1, 1975, he married Gearldine Childress in Las Vegas, Nev. He retired from Texas Eastman and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ore City. Mr. Childress was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Florine Childress. He is survived by his wife, Gearldine Childress of Jefferson; a son, Bret Childress of Tatum; his daughter, Toni Childress of Longview; his stepdaughters, Joni Bumgardner of Jefferson and Penni Craig of Marshall; 10 grandchildren; and his aunt, Daisy Williamson of Longview.

Sybil T. Clevenger
Funeral services for Sybil T. Clevenger, 87, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview with the Rev. Rob Parsons officiating. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Park Mausoleum. Mrs. Clevenger died Tuesday morning, March 10, 1998, in a Longview hospital. A native of Kansas, she was born June 30, 1910. She had lived in Longview since 1987, moving from Colorado Springs, Colo., where she owned and operated a motel. Mrs. Clevenger was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Richardson of Longview; five granddaughters; nine great-grand- children; and one great-great- granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Patterson. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today, March 13, at Rader Funeral Home.

Bobbie Jean Wilson Ethridge
Services for Bobbie Jean Wilson Ethridge, 63, of Hallsville will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Longview Church of Christ with Mike Hurley, Dan Manuel and Charles Ethridge officiating. Burial will be at the Hallsville cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Ethridge died Wednesday afternoon, March 11, 1998, in Longview. She was born May 31, 1934, in Harleton. Raised in Hallsville, she was a 1952 graduate of Hallsville High School. She moved to Dallas, married and raised her family. Upon retirement, she returned to Hallsville. Mrs. Ethridge was a homemaker, an accountant and a member of the Longview Church of Christ. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Ray Ethridge; a daughter, Sherra Cobb; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tony Dixon; a son and daughter-in-law, Galen and Vivian Ethridge; her brothers and sisters, Henry Wilson, Lennie Jones, Stella Cartwright, Jan Ridgeway, Dan Manuel and John Manuel; six grandchildren, Sonja Cobb, Chad Cobb, Robert Rose Jr., Jeffrey Rose, Alyssa Dixon and Alicia Ethridge; and one great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Cobb. The family will receive friends 7-9 this evening, March 13, at Rader Funeral Home.

The family will be receiving friends 7-9 p.m. today, March 13, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 16, at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston. Ms. Evans passed away Wednesday, March 11, 1998, in Gilmer. She was born Nov. 28, 1956, in Houston and was a Baptist. She is survived by her mother, Cordie May Evans of Gilmer; companion, Margie Alvey of Gladewater; sister and brother-in-law, Glee and Glenn Saylor of Gilmer; brother, Frederick Evans of Spring, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, J.T. Maxwell Evans, and two brothers, Marcus Eugene and Andy J. Evans.

Charles E. Hill
KILGORE - Services for Charles E. Hill, 66, of Kilgore, longtime owner and operator of Kilgore Bus Station, will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 13, at the Rader Funeral Home with the Rev. David Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in Danville cemetery. Mr. Hill died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at his home. He was born in Seminole, Okla., Jan. 20, 1932, and had lived most of his life in Kilgore. Mr. Hill was a 1950 graduate of Kilgore High School, where he played football. Later he attended Kilgore College and went on to obtain a bachelor of arts degree and a master of arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. Also, he did doctoral studies at the University of Arkansas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he attended the Masters Sunday School Class. Mr. Hill was a member of the Danville Masonic Lodge 101 and was a Shriner. He is survived by two daughters, Jaree Chambers of San Diego, Calif., and Kelly Regian of Lindale, Texas; four sisters, Ona Schulman of Arp, Texas, Wanda Schulman of Lake Tyler, Texas, Laverne Mercer of Kilgore and Betty Bonds of Kilgore; one brother, J.D. Hill of Gladewater; two grandchildren, Jordyn Chambers of San Diego and Jamie Regian of Lindale; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Ada Hill. The family received friends 6-8 p.m.Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.

Everett Jimerson
HENDERSON - Services for Everett Jimerson, 83, of Henderson will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Shultz and the Rev. Bruce Bailey officiating. Burial will be in New Prospect cemetery. Mr. Jimerson died Wednesday at a local hospital. Born Oct. 26, 1914, in Tatum, he was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and had worked 46 years in the oil fields.
