William R. Cargile
SULPHUR, La. - Services for William R. "Bill" Cargile, 79, of Sulphur, La., will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 20, 1998, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, La., with Father Marice Linehan officiating, followed by graveside services at 4 p.m. in Rosewood Park cemetery in Longview. Arrangements are under the direction of the Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home of Sulphur. Mr. Cargile died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, in Lake Charles, La. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation is 5-10 p.m. today, March 19, at the funeral home and Friday at the church prior to services. A native of Copan, Okla., and a resident of Sulphur, La., Mr. Cargile retired from Cities Service as an administrative clerk after 35 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur. He is survived by two sons, William C. Cargile of North Aurora, Ill., and Thomas L. Cargile of Sulphur, and four grandchildren.

Ellen McNeese
KILGORE - Graveside services for Ellen McNeese, 97, of Kilgore will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Kilgore cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mrs. McNeese died Tuesday in Kilgore. She was born Nov. 21, 1900, in Many, La. Survivors include three daughters, Louise Greer of Kilgore, Rachel Poston of Longview and Helen Mike of Hammond, La.

JoeAnna Norris
Services for JoeAnna Norris of Longview are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 1998, at the Welch Funeral Home Chapel with Buck Lineberger officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Norris died Tuesday at a local hospital. The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. Friday at Welch Funeral Home.

Johnny R. 'J.R.' Portley
Services for Johnny R. "J.R." Portley of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Longview, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at the St. Matthew C.M.E. Church of Wichita, Kan. Jackson Mortuary of Wichita is in charge of arrangements. Local arrangements are by Craig Funeral Home. Mr. Portley passed away Tuesday, March 17, 1998, after a lengthy illness. He was retired from Boeing Aircraft. He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, David; his daughters, Jacinda "Nell" and Debra; and his sisters Leatha Colbert, Bernice Green, Lola Templeton and Deborah Portley, all of Longview, and by his sister Pearlie Johnson of Houston, and 11 grandchildren.

Roy W. Roundtree
PITTSBURG - Services for Roy W. Roundtree, 77, of Pittsburg will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Price officiating, assisted by Dave Abernathy. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Roundtree died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Hunt County. A resident of Pittsburg since 1962, he was manager of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce for 23 years, 1962-1985. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 23 years, having served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a founding member of the East Texas Gulf Highway Association, an officer for the Texas Good Roads Association, and chairman for 10 years of the NETCOG Private Industry Council. Mr. Roundtree had been on the advisory board for Communities in Schools of Northeast Texas as well as a board member for Child Care Management Services. Mr. Roundtree was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Roundtree; his parents, Lawrence N. and Clysta Alexander Rountree; and a brother, Louie Roundtree. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Phillis Roundtree of Sulphur Springs and Jim and Judy Roundtree of Burnet; three granddaughters, Amy, Robin and Rebecca; two grandsons, Earl and Michael; three brothers, Bill Roundtree and Paul Roundtree, both of Wolf City, and William Roundtree of Dallas; one sister, Jeanine Lowery of Hopkins County; a sister-in-law, Oretha Roundtree of Cumby; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, March 19, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Camp County Public Library, Pittsburg, TX 75686.

Prudice Sanders
Graveside services for Prudice Sanders, 91, of Tatum will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Harmony Hill cemetery in Tatum with the Rev. Jack Harris officiating. Mrs. Sanders, a lifelong resident of Rusk County, a homemaker and a member of the First Methodist Church of Tatum, died Tuesday in a Henderson hospital. Arrangements are by East Texas Funeral Home of Longview. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Preston and Virgie Sanders, and a daughter and son-in-law, Dee La Vina and Melton Turlington, all of Tatum. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

HENDERSON - Services for T.H. Stovall, 77, of Henderson will be held at 10 a.m. today at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Ellis and the Rev. Leroy Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery. Mr. Stovall died Tuesday at his residence. He was a Presbyterian and had been a supervisor of the epolene department at Texas Eastman Co.

LINDEN - Services for Martha Neal Tolbert, 65, of Linden will be held at 10 a.m. today at Nelson Murphy Chapel with Brother Malachi Reed officiating. Burial will be in Weldon cemetery in Weldon under the direction of Haaland Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Tolbert died Tuesday in Linden. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was born Sept. 23, 1932, in Linden.

Feliciano Villegas Jr.
HENDERSON - Graveside services for Feliciano Villegas Jr., 20, of Laneville were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Laneville cemetery with Father Jose Marin officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home. Mr. Villegas died Sunday in Longview after a pedestrian accident. He was a Catholic and a tower builder for Tower Specialist Inc. in Nacogdoches.

Opal Elizabeth Davis
GILMER - Services for Opal Elizabeth Davis, 87, of Gilmer will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with the Rev. Terril Pearson and the Rev. Donald Puckett officiating. Burial will be in Old East Mountain cemetery. Mrs. Davis died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, in Gilmer. She was born Sept. 11, 1910, in East Mountain and lived most of her life in Upshur County. On Aug. 23, 1924, she married Hughlene Davis in Gilmer. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Hughlene, in 1991, and by one brother and four grandsons. She is survived by two sons, R.W. Davis of East Mountain and Paul J. Davis of Union Grove; two daughters, Dorothy Puckett of East Mountain and Ollie Hill of Gilmer; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grand-children and great-great-grand- children; three brothers, Claudis Medlin and Landis Medlin, both of East Mountain, and Douglas Medlin of Gilmer; and two sisters, Ruby Salter of Kaufman and Jessie Harris of Gilmer. Pallbearers will be Scott Davis, Jerry Davis, Rodney Davis, Corbitt Puckett, Tommy Hill, Shane Orms, Stephen Hill and Jeff Hill. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today, March 20, at the funeral home.

GLADEWATER - Graveside services for Donald Ray Foster, 66, of Gladewater will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Gladewater Memorial Park with the Rev. Don Mears officiating. Mr. Foster died Tuesday at his residence. Born April 19, 1931, in Copeland, Kan., he was a member of the Worldwide Church of God and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Visitation is 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Fred Harris Jr.
Services for Fred Harris Jr. of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. M. Hilburn officiating. Burial will be in Grable cemetery under the direction of Stanmore Funeral Home. Mr. Harris died Monday in a local hospital. Survivors include his wife, three sons, two daughters and a brother.

CARTHAGE - Services for L.G. "Buddy" Harvey, 88, of Carthage will be held at 10 a.m. today at Jimerson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Cole officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery. Mr. Harvey died Wednesday at a Longview hospital. Born Jan. 3, 1910, in Laneville, Mr. Harvey was a retired heavy machinery mechanic and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

Arrangements are by Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home. Mrs. Laney, a Baptist, died Wednesday at a Longview hospital. She was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Gainsville, Mo. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Nellie Gage Lee
Funeral services for Nellie Gage Lee, 86, lifetime resident of Longview, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Dr. David Mindel officiating. Interment will follow in Gum Springs cemetery. Mrs. Lee died Thursday, March 19, 1998, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Lee was born April 22, 1911, in Harrison County in the Gum Springs community. She and her husband owned and operated the Quick Cleaner Laundry for many years. Mrs. Lee was a member of Woodland Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Lee, and a granddaughter, Marjorie Gibson Browne. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita and Joe Gibson of Longview and Edith and Don Wilson of Longview; a sister-in-law, Johnie Gage of Longview; a granddaughter and her husband, Donna and Tony McGuire; and six great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Nursing Home Ministries. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. today, March 20, at the funeral home.

Carol Marie Lively
Funeral services for Carol Marie Lively, 53, of Jefferson will be held at noon Saturday in Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Rawlings officiating. Interment will be in Rosewood Park. She died Thursday morning, March 19, 1998, in a Longview hospital. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, March 20, at the funeral home. Mrs. Lively was born May 24, 1944, in Palestine, Texas, and had been a resident of Jefferson for the past four years, moving from Longview. She was a homemaker and a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity United Church of Christ in Longview. Mrs. Lively is survived by her husband, A.D. Lively of Jefferson; two daughters, Cynthia Carol Hicks of Buda, Texas, and Audra Diane Wells of Jefferson; her sisters, Shirley Moore of Longview and Ann Plat, Lela Calloway, Patsy Black and Tammy Young, all of Palestine; two brothers, Mark and James Kirkwood of Palestine; her parents, J.O. and Sallie Kirkwood of Palestine; and two granddaughters, Victoria Wells and Bethany Hicks. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Longview.
