Graveside services for Dorothy Drew, 68, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. today at Rosewood Park cemetery with the Rev. John Williams officiating. Arrangements are by Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Drew died Monday, March 23, 1998. She was born Sept. 14, 1929 in Mount Pleasant. She had been a Longview resident for 40 years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She is survived by her husband Joseph L. Drew of Longview; sons, Gary L. Drew and Dewayne Drew both of Hallsville; daughter, Gale Dodson of Hallsville; sister, Nell Stevens of Daingerfield; grandchildren, Dustin, Daniel and Kindel Drew, Mathew Drew and David Dodson, II and one great grandson, Cody Dodson.

Kenneth E. Falconer
Funeral services for Kenneth E. Falconer, 72, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jonathon Jehorek and Dr. W.D. O'Neal officiating. Interment will be in Grace Hill cemetery. He died Sunday afternoon at a local hospital. Born Nov. 19, 1925, in Longview, he was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He retired from Texas Eastman Co. after 38 years of service. Mr. Falconer was an active freemason. He was past master and life member of the Longview Masonic Lodge #404 A.F. and A.M. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Loudene Falconer. Survivors include his wife Trudy; a son Stephen Falconer of Longview; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Saunders of Austin, and Susie and Cliff Halbert of Kilgore; grandchildren, Jennifer Borgman and husband, Brooks, Rachel Fauver and husband, Dan, Carey Halbert, Jason Saunders, Lindsey Halbert, Lauren Halbert; great-grandchildren, Callie Dene Fauver and Carson Fauver; and Trudy's children, Bill Renfro and wife, Patti, and their daughter Sarah Renfro, Rita Renfro Riney and her children, Jay Stone and Brian Maddox and wife, Marti, and their children, Cody and Maura. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lawrence L. 'Larry' Hawkins
KILGORE - Services for Lawrence L. "Larry" Hawkins, 77, of Liberty City will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Rev. Jim Dorrough officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Oakland Memorial Park cemetery in Terrell. Mr. Hawkins died Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Columbia Longview Regional Hospital. Mr. Hawkins was born in Campbell, Texas, on May 23, 1920. In high school, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and also served as a Scout Master. He served as a second lieutenant in the ROTC and later in the Army as a Master Sergeant during World War II. Mr. Hawkins retired as vice president of Southern Microfilm in Houston. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Kilgore and was active in the Golden Circle Sunday School class. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mabel Hawkins, and one brother, Thomas Hawkins. Survivors include his wife, Margie LaRue Hawkins of Liberty City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Pat and Annette Hawkins of Houston and Don and Charmaine Hawkins of Colleyville, Texas; two brothers, Robert Hawkins of Fort Worth, Texas, and John Hawkins of Terrell; three grandchildren, Randy Hawkins, Cheryl Dietz and Brandon Hawkins; and one great-grandson. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Nazarene.

Burial will be in Little Mound cemetery. She died Sunday. Mrs. Metcalf was born Dec. 25, 1937, in Manilla, Philippines. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Longview and a distributor for the Longview News Journal for 31 years. Survivors include five sons, Bill Travis Barnwell of Longview, Rex Layne Barnwell of Pritchett, Kenneth Wayne Barnwell of Rowlett, James Michael Metcalf of Little Rock, and Thomas Mark Metcalf of Longview; one daughter, Chrystal Pauline Metcalf of Longview; five grandchildren and one brother, Bobby Wash of Trinity, Texas. Lee 'Nell' Smith
Services for Lee "Nell" Smith, 92, of Lewisville, formerly of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ford Chapel of the First Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Hatfield and the Rev. Larry Grayson officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She died Monday morning at a Carrollton nursing home. Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 8, 1906, in Lanier, Texas, to a pioneer East Texas family, John and Eunice Fant Dodd. She was a Longview resident from 1943 to 1988, when she moved to Lewisville to be near her daughter. She was a member of the Iris Garden Club, the Forum, and the First Baptist Church where she was involved in the children's ministry and the Women's Missionary Union. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jerry Crossland of Lewisville; son and daughter-in-law, John Dodd and Helen Smith of Giddings, Texas; grandchildren, Bryan Smith, Cathy Smith, Jana Crossland and Jennifer Crossland; great- grandchildren, Garrett and Rachel Smith; and a sister, Johnnie Nelson of Irving.

Burial will be in City cemetery. Mrs. Boggs died Monday, March 23, 1998, in Longview. She was born Dec. 17, 1927, in Orange, Texas, to May Hilda Nobles Siau and Robert E. Lee. She was a longtime resident of Carthage and a member of the Southside Baptist Church. Mrs. Boggs was preceded in death by her husband, Milton L. Boggs, on Feb. 21, 1997. Survivors include two sons, David Wayne Boggs and Milton Paul Boggs, both of Carthage; her daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra and Johnny Joe Lott of Mena, Ark., and Brenda Boggs of Longview; one brother, Fred Siau of Orange, Texas; two sisters, Irene Kuchar of Groves, Texas, and Edna Mae Johnson of Port Arthur, Texas; three grandchildren, Lloyd Lee Lott, Ashley Boggs and Joshua Boggs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jason Williams and the Rev. Dick Stagner officiating. Burial will be in Jarratt cemetery near Jacksonville. Mr. Ferrell died Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at a Jacksonville hospital. He had lived in Jacksonville and Gallatin most of his life. Mr. Ferrell was a retired farmer and a member of Travis Street Baptist Church of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Ferrell; his sons Jarvis and Bubba Ferrell; and a grandson, Selwyn Ferrell. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Glenda Ferrell of Tyler; a daughter and son-in-law, LaVerne and David Williams of Longview; a daughter-in-law, Jenny Ferrell of Houston; two sisters, Alma Mae Jenkins and Lucille Gibson, both of Rusk; a sister-in-law, Marie Ferrell of Houston; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mr. Ferrell's grandsons and nephews. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, March 25, at the funeral home.
