AUSTIN - Services for Catherine Lynn Jennings, 9, of Rollingwood will be held at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Dr. Douglas Fletcher officiating. Arrangements are by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Graveside services, directed by Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home of Linden, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Center Hill cemetery.

Tatum A'Neera Nash

GLADEWATER - Services for Tatum A'Neera Nash, 5, of Shreveport, La., will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Hopewell Baptist Church in Shreveport under the direction of Dearion & Davis Funeral Parlor of Gladewater. Little Tatum was born Sept. 2, 1992. She died March 22, 1998, at Truman W. Smith Children's Center in Gladewater. Survivors include her parents, Anthony and Charlesetta Nash of Shreveport. Viewing will be Thursday after 3 p.m. and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral parlor. Family hour is 7-8 p.m. Friday in Shreveport.

William E. 'Pete' Peterson

HENDERSON - Services for William E. "Pete" Peterson, 71, of Henderson will be held at noon Thursday at Bryan Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson with Dr. Harold J. Springfield officiating. Burial will be in New Prospect cemetery. Mr. Peterson, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and retiree of D.C. Long Distributors, died Monday. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lee (Nell) Smith

Services for Mrs. Lee (Nell) Smith, 92, of Lewisville, formerly of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Ford Chapel of the First Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Hatfield and the Rev. Larry Grayson officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She died Monday morning at a Carrollton nursing home. Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 8, 1906, in Lanier, Texas, to a pioneer East Texas family, John and Eunice Fant Dodd. She was a Longview resident from 1943 to 1988, when she moved to Lewisville to be near her daughter. She was a member of the Iris Garden Club, the Forum, and the First Baptist Church, where she was involved in the children's ministry and the Women's Missionary Union. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jerry Crossland of Lewisville; a son and daughter-in-law, John Dodd and Helen Smith of Giddings, Texas; her grandchildren, Bryan Smith, Cathy Smith, Jana Crossland and Jennifer Crossland; her great-grandchildren, Garrett and Rachel Smith; and a sister, Johnnie Nelson of Irving.

Lovie E. Thomas

OVERTON - Graveside services for Lovie E. Thomas, 95, of Overton will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Rusk County Memorial Gardens cemetery near Henderson with Tommy Palmer and Wayne Berryman officiating. Arrangements are by Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home. Mrs. Thomas, a member of Chandler Street Church of Christ in Kilgore, died Monday in a Henderson hospital.

MARSHALL - Graveside services for Kia Adams, 90, of Marshall will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Grange Hall cemetery with the Rev. Morris Brock officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sullivan Family of Funeral Directors. Mrs. Adams, a member of Grange Hall Baptist Church, died Tuesday in Marshall. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home's Travis Street location.

William A. 'Bill' Anders

KILGORE - Private family services for William A. "Bill" Anders, 74, of Kilgore will be scheduled at a later date. Mr. Anders died Wednesday in a Kilgore hospital. Born Sept. 26, 1923, in Covington, Okla., he had served in the U.S. Army and had worked overseas in the oil field as a production superintendent. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.

Howard Tabb Bennett

Services for Howard Tabb Bennett, 42, of Shreveport, La., formerly of Longview, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Welch Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bennett died suddenly Tuesday morning at a Shreveport hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1955, in Gladewater and had been a resident of Shreveport since 1992. Mr. Bennett was a member of the United Methodist Church and had received a bachelor of arts degree in science and a bachelor of arts degree in business from the University of Texas at Austin. He had worked at Motorola in Austin for many years. Mr. Bennett is survived by his mother, Dorothy Tabb Bennett of Shreveport; his brother and sister-in-law, Walter H. III and Debra Bennett of Phoenix, Ariz.; his nephews, Scott Bennett of Phoenix and Kyle Bennett of Shreveport; and his grandmother, Rubye Wright of Longview.

Bob Butcher

GLADEWATER - Funeral services for Bob Butcher, 76, of Gladewater will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, at the First United Methodist Church in Gladewater with the Rev. Wayne Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in Gladewater Memorial Park under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater. Mr. Butcher was born Feb. 24, 1922, in Glenwood, Ark., to the late Thomas and Lola Williams. He died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at his residence. A resident of Gladewater for 48 years, he retired after 40 years as an independent insurance agent at Williams and Butcher Insurance Agency. Mr. Butcher was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gladewater. He is survived by his wife, Helen Butcher of Gladewater; a daughter, Melody Butcher of Euless; and an aunt, Faye Thrash of Hope, Ark. Pallbearers will be Kent Abernathy, Brent Abernathy, Larry Abernathy, Mark Abernathy, Jimmy White, John Boggs and Jack Phillips. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, 217 W. Quitman St., Gladewater, TX 75647. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, March 26, at the funeral home.

NAPLES - A memorial service for Jessie Bervil Fountain, 69, of Omaha will be held at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Frank Thompson officiating. Mr. Fountain died Tuesday. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service and member of Concord Baptist Church in Omaha. Arrangements are by Alexander Funeral Home.

LINDEN - Services for Vela Mae Hays, 82, of Linden will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Linden with the Rev. D.C. 'Bo' Mangum Jr. officiating. Burial will be in New Colony cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home. Mrs. Hays died Tuesday in Jefferson. She was a Baptist, an Eastern Star member, and a retiree of Henson & Kickernick.

Mary S. Hutchison

Funeral services for Mary S. Hutchison, 87, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bob Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Elmira Chapel cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Hutchison was born in Denver, Colo., on Feb. 21, 1911, and was called home to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 22, 1998. She was preceded in death by Paul W. Hutchison, her husband of 64 years. Mrs. Hutchison was a published poet and worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for many years in Denver and Dallas. She was a member of the Poets of Gregg County and had lived in Longview since 1982. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lucinda and Larry Hamilton of Longview; her son and daughter-in-law, Warner and Merilyn Hutchison of Las Cruces, N.M.; and her daughter and son-in-law Martha and Bob Wilson of London, Ontario, Canada. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Robert Hamilton, Lisa Hamilton DeBellevue, Kenneth Hutchison, Laura Hutchison, Jeannie Wilson and Paul Wilson, and four great-grandchildren, Richard, Alaina, Michael and Andrew DeBellevue. The family will greet friends 7-8 p.m. today, March 26, at Rader Funeral Home. The family requests memorials to Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimers Association.

Erma D. Robertson

Services for Erma D. Robertson will be held on Friday, March 27, at noon at Wesley United Methodist Church in Longview, Texas, with entombment immediately following at Memory Park cemetery. She died Tuesday, March 24, 1998, in a local hospital. Erma, daughter of Lawrence and Ellen Mae Lilley, was born Nov. 11, 1920, in Daingerfield, Texas, and grew up in nearby Jenkins. Erma married Leon Robertson on Feb. 3, 1943, and they began life together in Lakeview, Texas. In 1954, they moved to Longview, which became their home. Erma and Leon joyously celebrated 55 years of marriage this year. Erma was a teacher in the truest sense of the word. She taught fifth- and sixth-graders over 31 years until retiring from Valley View Elementary School in 1984. Erma received a master's degree in education from East Texas State University and a bachelor of arts degree in education from Texas Woman's University. Erma was an active member and past president and treasurer of the local chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, a national teachers' sorority. Erma was active in her community until the time of her death, serving as a volunteer at Longview Regional Hospital twice weekly. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church throughout her life in Longview. Erma, known as "Mimi" to her grandchildren and to her constant companion, Buffy, is survived by her husband, Leon; three daughters, Karen Stuart of Dallas, Debbie Smith of Longview and Jana Vander Woude of Waco; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Julie Smith and Jeffrey, Michael and Kevin Vander Woude; two sons-in-law, Norman Smith and Rick Vander Woude; and two sisters, Mary Shaver of Pittsburg and Dorothy Marcum of Lake Jackson. Visitation is Thursday, March 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home on Judson Road in Longview.

Elious E. 'Eli' Thompson

Graveside services for Elious E. "Eli" Thompson, 87, of Ore City are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, at Ore City cemetery with the Rev. Randall Trull and the Rev. Lenny Patton officiating. Services are under the direction of Welch Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Thompson died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at a local hospital. Mr. Thompson was born April 16, 1910, and was a retired operator with Warren Petroleum in Kilgore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oda Mae. Survivors include his son, W.I. Tom Thompson; his stepsons, Cecil Collins, Maurice Collins and the Rev. Art 'Corky' Collins; his half-sisters, Bonnie Moody, Mary Patton, Nancy Vance, Gertrude Beasley and Dartha Thompson; and his half-brother, N.C. Thompson. The family requests memorials be made to the Longview Senior Center.
