Woodie R. Ivey

Services for Woodie R. Ivey, 79, of Austonio, will be Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Buffalo with Craig Graham officiating. Burial will be in the Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Buffalo.
Mr. Ivey died Friday in Crockett.
He was born in Baird to Alfred C. and Lilla Beddingfield Ivey.
Mr. Ivey was a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. He taught distributive education at Thomas  Jefferson High School in El Paso before going into business in the 1950s.
He was a regional executive with Travelers Insurance for many years before he built and managed the Weathervane Restaurant in Buffalo. He also built and operated a grocery and package store in Marquez. Prior to his death he bought and sold livestock for his land near Austonio.
Mr. Ivey was also a 32nd degree Mason.
He was married to Jean Talbott and later to Marie Carmichael of Abilene.
Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by an infant son, Roger; brother, Howard Ivey; sisters, Ona Belle Yancey, Lois Davis, Madris Barton and Vida Blalock.
He is survived by brother, Nathan Ivey of Duncanville; children, Linda Ivey of Boulder,  Colo. and Greg Ivey of Jewett; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Terri Gable McElhaney

Services for Terri Gable McElhaney, 56, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Larry Tilmon officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Middle City Cemetery.
Mrs. McElhaney died Friday night at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 10, 1946, in Corsicana to Jack Gibbs and Virginia Sherrard Gibbs.
Mrs. McElhaney was a member of the Westside Assembly of God Church. She was a registered nurse and was director of nurses in Mexia and Corsicana for 27 years. She worked at Dogwood Trails Advanced Healthcare.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. McElhaney is survived by her husband, Paul E. McElhaney of Palestine; son, Bart Gable of Everett, Wash.; sisters, Jackie Knighten of Nacogdoches and Pennie Jenkins of Dallas; brother, Jimmie Goff of Ennis; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Mark Jenkins, Bart Gable, J.P. McElhaney, Mack McElhaney, Wendell Whitaker and Craig Goff.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Art Davis

Services for Art Davis, 76, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Creek Cemetery with the Rev. W.E. Shiflet officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Davis died Saturday night at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 27, 1926 in Indahoma, Okla. to Phillip Davis and Altha Mae McFarland Davis.
Mr. Davis was a Baptist and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a hot oil truck driver for Palestine Contractors.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and nine brothers.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mary Davis of Palestine; daughter, Phyllis Thompson of Palestine; son, Garry Davis of Palestine; sister, Juna Plunk; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jane Stewart

Services for Jane Stewart, 73, of  Texas City, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Strong Memorial Cemetery in Slocum. Emken-Linton Funeral Home in  Texas City is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Stewart died Saturday at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster.
She was born May 7, 1929 in Slocum.
Mrs. Stewart was retired from J.W. Weingarten’s Grocery after 32 years of service. She was a resident of  Texas City for more than 47 years.
She is survived by her husband, James H. Stewart of  Texas City; children, Glinda Berg Collins of Houston, Sharon Swain of Arkansas, Jimmy Stewart of California, John Stewart of Austin and Jerry Stewart of  Texas City; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Larry Ernest Lee

Services for Larry Ernest Lee, 44, of Flo, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Buffalo Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Stone officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery under the direction of Buffalo Funeral Home.
Mr. Lee died Saturday in a Houston hospital.
He was born Aug. 17, 1958, in Houston to Charlie Ernest and Alma Lynn Gore Lee.
Mr. Lee worked as a farm hand. He was a member of Garden Rose Baptist Church in Brookside Village near Pearland.
He is survived by his parents of Flo; brother, Mike Lee of Houston; and sister, Mary Lee  Johnson of Slocum.
Pallbearers will be Billy Pate, Tommy Lee, Wendell LeGalley, Charlie Bob Newsom, Dempsey Pate and Royce Norton.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family present beginning at 6 p.m.; and from 8 a.m. to time of service Tuesday.

Omega Cole Hines

Services for Omega Cole Hines, 82, of Frankston, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Frankston with the Revs. Jack Shoultz and Lloyd Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Frankston City Cemetery.
Mrs. Hines died Tuesday in a Tyler hospital.

She was born June 29, 1919 in Frankston.
Mrs. Hines was a retired teacher, formerly teaching at Ole Miss and at several high schools in East  Texas. She also taught speech at Jacksonville Baptist College in Jacksonville. She was a member of Brushy Creek United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hines.

Mrs. Hines is survived by a son, David Hines of Tacoma, Wash.; daughters, Pam McDonald of Frankston and Margo Beard of Athens; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Addie Lee Francis

Services for Addie Lee Francis, 50, of Oakwood, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rocky Mount Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbert Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Mount Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Mrs. Francis died at her home.

She was born Jan. 8, 1952 in Freestone County to Willie L. and Emaline Relerford Richardson.

Mrs. Francis was retired from the Fort Worth Police Department. She was reared in Freestone County and educated in Oakwood public schools. She was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church.

Mrs. Francis was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a sister.
She is survived by her husband, Wayman Francis of Fort Worth; sons, Kenneth Richardson of Fort Worth and Kevin Richardson of Palestine; sisters, Addie Mae Diggs of Fort Worth, Ruby Faye  Jones of Dallas and Celmea Blalock of Oakwood; brothers, William Richardson of Dallas, Robbert Richardson of Fort Worth and McKinney Richardson of Oakwood.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Clyde B. Green

Services for Clyde B. Green, 86, of Grapeland, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Chapel with the Revs. Kenny Bush and Loyd Dickey officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery under the arrangements of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Green died Tuesday at Round Rock Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 18, 1916 in Arlington to Charles Boyd and Addie Cornelia Ball Green.

Mr. Green was a superintendent in the oilfield. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Percilla Community Church.
Mr. Green lived in Kermit,  Texas from 1948 to 1972. He moved to Odessa in 1972 and lived there until 1985 when he moved back to the Denson Springs community.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Green in 2001; and a brother, J.B. Green.

Mr. Green is survived by a son, Larry Green of Volente; sister, Charlie Mae  Schmidt of Norman, Okla.; brothers, Fred Green of San Angelo and Jack Kennon of Houston; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Odell, Robert Wall, Troy Jones, Mitchell Huff, Jack Kennon and Dan Hernandez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Marcy, Sam  Jones and Tim Allen.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Nelson Bowen

Services for Mary Nelson Bowen, 71, of Las Vegas, Nev., and formerly of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Sales (Ranjan) T. Cletus officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bowen died Monday at Park Plaza Hospital in Houston.

She was born Oct. 22, 1930, in Palestine to Gerald and Rosie Belcher Nelson.
Mrs. Bowen graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947 and earned a bachelor’s degree at Huston-Tillotson College in Austin. Her first teaching assignment was at an Indian reservation in Arizona.
After marrying Albert Bowen, she moved to Las Vegas and taught in the Clark County School System for more than 30 years. During that time she worked at several hotels.

Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by her sister, Lottie M. Willis of Houston.

Active pallbearers will be Reginald O. Browne Jr., Theodore Green, Edward Muse, Charles E. Sheffield, Robert Watson and Revis Willis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Reginald O. Browne Sr., Jimmy Freeman, Alfred E. Tyson, Aaron Williams, Anthony B. Willis and Revis O. Willis.

Thelma Grigsby

Funeral arrangements for Thelma Grigsby, 81, of Elkhart, are pending at Bailey & Foster.

Mrs. Grigsby died this morning at Hospice Home Place in Tyler.

Nadalie Ann Herod

Services for Nadalie Ann Herod, 71, of Palestine, were at 3 p.m. today at St. Philips Episcopal Church and at 2 p.m. Saturday at 222 Circle R Lake Road.
Mrs. Herod died April 2 at Palestine Regional Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 29, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ward Maxwell and Mildred Elizabeth Moore Boring.

Mrs. Herod was a homemaker and a member of the Unitarian Church. She was the current secretary for the Iris Society, past registrar for the D.A.R., a member of the Harvey Women’s Club and the Newcomers Club.

She was preceded in her husband, Roger H. Herod Jr., in 1999; and her first husband, Robert P.  White Jr.

Mrs. Herod is survived by daughters, Cynthia Kelly of Garland and Vicki Pittman of Bryan; sons, Roger Daniel Herod of Rockwall and Michael Herod of Arlington; a sister, Claudia Jarvis of Hayward,  Calif.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.

Clifton D. Anderson

Services for Clifton D. Anderson, 96, of Fairfield, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Gilford Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Anderson died Saturday in Corsicana.
He was born Jan. 18, 1906 in Freestone County to Jasper and Carrie Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a retired rancher and member of Antioch Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Dee Anderson; an infant son; and an infant grandson.

Mr. Anderson is survived by son, Harland Anderson of Bay City; four grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Anderson, Link Anderson, Nicky Anderson and Andy Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Dodds, Bobby Rutherford, David Chapman, Billy Chapman and Glen  White.
