Bobby Ray Green
Services for Bobby Ray Green, 67, of St. Elmo, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church in St. Elmo. Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home of Fairfield.
Mr. Green died Thursday at his home in St. Elmo.
He was born Oct. 16, 1934.
Mr. Green was preceded in death by his father, Darell Green Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Green; mother, Louise Green; sisters, Ruth Morris, Frances Moore, Nelda Rickels and Berti Couch; children, Bobbette Walker, Daenan Green, Bruce Green, David Green and Brian Green; and stepchildren, Renee Arias, Cory Moore and Kimberly Knight; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Brooksie Henderson
Services for Brooksie Henderson, 75, of Palestine will be held at a later date by the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Henderson died Friday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 2, 1927 in Palestine to Clarence and Pauline Eilenstein Scarborough.
Mrs. Henderson lived in Palestine all of her life. She owned and operated Teebrook Nursery from the mid-70s until the late 1990s. She was a member of Memorial Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston Travis Henderson, in 1999.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by son, Travis Tee Henderson of Palestine; daughter, Tiffany Henderson of Palestine; and two grandchildren.
Francis Bryant Fryer
Services for Francis Bryant Fryer, 86, of Fairfield, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Terry Skinner officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield.
Mr. Fryer died Friday.
He was born on July 29, 1916 in Freestone County to John F. and Ella Sneed Fryer.
Mr. Fryer worked at the Texas Department of Transportation for 27 years.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Douglas Fryer, William Fryer, Sidney Fryer, Joe Fryer and Hugh Fryer.
Mr. Fryer is survived by his wife, Lena Mae Ivy Fryer of Fairfield; daughter, Barbara Fryer of Fairfield; and one grandson.
Laura Mae Harris
Services for Laura Mae Harris, 90, of Palestine will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the graveside in Allen Cemetery in Murchison with the Revs. Edward Davis and Doug Harris officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Harris died Friday morning at Spring Seasons of Elkhart.
She was born Dec. 16, 1911 in Henderson County to Thomas Eurastus Frizzell and Dora Ann Bearden Frizzell.
Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and a member of Memory Lane Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.A. Harris, in 1982; son, Fred Norman Harris; and sister, Effie Windham.
Mrs. Harris is survived by sisters Almeda Crist of Yantis and Billie Barnhart of Palestine; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Rhone, Harold Crist, Wendell Crist, Larry Crist and Thomas Maciel.
Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Fred Fuiten
Services for Fred J. Fuiten, 81, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with the Revs. Robert Seago and Mike Van Vleet officiating. A graveside service will be held next week at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington, Ill.
Mr. Fuiten died Thursday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 24, 1921 in Bloomington, Ill. to Fred and Bessie Mink Fuiten.
Mr. Fuiten was raised in Bloomington, and lived in California before moving to Palestine 10 years ago. He had worked with Sears, J.C. Penney and the U.S. Postal Service before he retired. He was a Methodist.
Mr. Fuiten was a member of the American Legion and the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in World War II.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Alwes.
Mr. Fuiten is survived by his wife, Lois Fuiten of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Morrell Willard
Services for Morrell Willard, 86, of Fairfield, will be at 2 p.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ed Ridge officiating. Burial will be in Lake Chapel Cemetery in Fairfield.
Mrs. Willard died Friday at Fairview Manor in Fairfield.
She was born March 18, 1916 in Freestone County. She was a grocery clerk and a member of Round Prairie Baptist Church.
Mrs. Willard is survived by a daughter, Frankie Fogleman of Mesquite; son, Danny Willard of Fairfield; sister, Vivian Spivey of Fairfield; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Round Prairie Baptist Church.
Jimmie Wayne Bell
Services for Jimmie Wayne Bell, 48, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Revs. Fred Neal and Rick Dees officiating. Burial will be in Land of Memory under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Bell died Friday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 3, 1954 in Palestine to Kenneth W. Bell and Margie Denman Bell.
Mr. Bell attended Westwood Baptist Church and graduated from Westwood High School in 1972. He had been employed at the Texas Department of Corrections and then as a brakeman for Union Pacific Railroad.
Mr. Bell was preceded in death by a son, James Wayne Bell.
He is survived by his parents; daughter, Crystal Renee Smith of Lindale; son, Patrick Arnold of Palestine; brother, Terry Bell of Palestine; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Danny Churchman, David Walling, John Walling, Jimmy Warren, Bryan Denman, Michael Denman, Trent Smith and Steve Pace.

J.G. “Griff” Hamilton
Services for J.G. “Griff” Hamilton, 56, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Crockett Road Church of Christ with Dan Manuel officiating. A graveside service with full military honors accorded by Barksdale Air Force Base will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Green Oak Cemetery in Kinder, La. with Jack Creel Jr. officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Hamilton died Monday in Bossier Parish, La.
He was born Feb. 6, 1946, in Kinder to Edward Pierre Hamilton and Evelyn Della Johnson Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton was the previous owner of Tri-State Measurement. He was a graduate of Kinder High School in 1964 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1968 and was currently on active duty as a Senior Master Sergeant.
He was a member of Crockett Road Church of Christ. He was associated with the Palestine YMCA youth from 1981 to 1986. He served on the Westwood ISD Board of Trustees from 1986 to 1994 and again from August of 1998 through April of 1999 as board president.
Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Hamilton of Palestine; daughter, Lisa Gailey of Memphis, Tenn.; son, John Hamilton II of Palestine; sisters, Dot Guillory of Kinder and Pat Martin of Lake Charles, La.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Herrington, Charles McCullough, John Hill, Lloyd Kelsey, Dick Swift and Phil Fletcher.

C.H. “Slick” Wilson
Services for C.H. “Slick” Wilson, 82, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Parker Cemetery with the Rev. Howard Huhn officiating. Funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 2:15 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Wilson died Monday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 29, 1919, in the Denson Springs community.
Mr. Wilson was a deputy sheriff of Anderson County from 1960 to 1972 and a rancher. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Herod Wilson; daughter, Joy Tapp; and brother, Theron Wilson.
Mr. Wilson is survived by daughters, Marlane Gaines of Palestine and Barbara Estes of Corpus Christi; sister, Lillian Mathison of Palestine; brother, Madrile Wilson of Austin; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Pontello, Stewart Gaines, Bill McCune, Larry Mathison and Jared Gaines.

Carl William “Dude” Thompson
Services for Carl William “Dude” Thompson, 77, were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Malakoff Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Guston officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff.
Mr. Thompson died Sunday in Athens.
He is survived locally by daughter, Vickie Hutcherson of Palestine; and sister, Geneva Mitchell of Palestine.
Paul B. Cravey
Services for Paul B. Cravey, 79, of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. June 15 at the East Texas Arboretum in Athens. Burial will be under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory of Palestine.
Mr. Cravey died Monday at his residence.
He was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Brownsboro to Howard and Ruth Curry Cravey.
Mr. Cravey was a graduate of Humble High School in Houston and the University of Houston.
He had lived in Palestine for the past 14 years. He was a Christian.
Mr. Cravey was retired acting director of Tenneco Oil Co. and a founding member of the East Texas Arboretum Society in Athens. He was a contributing writer to the writing guild of the Palestine Senior Citizens Center. He was a former member of the Pasadena Rotary Club and a former city alderman and first elected mayor of Seabrook.
He was a carrier-based fighter pilot with the U.S. Navy in World War II. He retired from the Naval Reserve with 20 years service. He also was in the Pacific theater in WWII.
Mr. Cravey is survived by his wife, Jean Cravey of Palestine; sons, Mike Cravey of Marble Falls, Paul Cravey of Houston and Donald Cravey of Seabrook; stepson, Eric Deahmer of Brenham; daughter, Laurel Lee Osborne of Fairfield, Iowa; stepdaughters, Jana Stakes of Brenham and Monet Tibbits of Houston; brother, Seaborn Cravey of Crystal Beach; sisters, Carole Ann Butter of Fayetteville, Ark. and Nancy Hulse of Kerrville.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
J.W. Huddleston
