WESLACO, TX — Matthew Alvarado was a gracious gift from God. He brought love and happiness to all of those who knew him.

His adventurous and daring spirit took him around the world with his friends and family. We had the privilege of watching him grow into a remarkable, giving and caring young man for 18 years. In that short time, he saw and experienced things people only dream of.

Matthew was loved and respected by so many and he touched so many lives. His last seven years were spent in Germany where he graduated from H.H. General Arnold High School on June 7, 2003.

The warmth of his smile was like a magnificent sunrise and his dreamy brown eyes could light up the midnight sky. God gave his only son to us, now we give him ours. We have comfort and peace knowing that he is in Heaven and we look forward to joining him one day, although he will be deeply missed by all of us.

For Matthew was much too great for this world. Thank you for making the last days of my son’s glorious life so special.
