GEORGE WOOD
George William Wood, 93, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Wood was born March 31, 1910, in Manistee Junction, Ala. He was retired from Brown and Miller Pickle Plant, a member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Taylor Wood.
Survivors include two sons and daughters - in - law, George D. and Jan Wood of Albany, Ga., and David and Debra Wood of Longview, Texas; two sisters, Doris Catrett of Beaumont, Texas, and Emma Lou Rickerson of Birmingham, Ala.; two grandchildren, Rachel Lambert of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Krista Hoffman of Fort Worth, Texas; and two great - grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in East Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jack Matkin officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

RALPH ORRICK
SPRINGHILL, La. - Ralph Edmund Orrick, 80, of Taylor, Ark., died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Orrick was born July 25, 1923, in Taylor. He was retired from International Paper, a member of Taylor Baptist Church, Hughey Lodge 70 and Order of the Eastern Star Taylor Chapter 613 and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Harvey Orrick, on Aug. 31, 2003.
Survivors include one daughter and son - in - law, Karan and Danny Eddy of Ruston, La.; one son and daughter - in - law, Ronald and Sheree Orrick of Taylor; five grandchildren, Julie Orrick of Little Rock, Bill Orrick and Laura Orrick of Taylor, and Michael Eddy and Jason Eddy of Ruston; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Taylor First Baptist Church with Randy Wilson and Cleo Paul officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery under direction of Bailey Mortuary.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and until 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.

MARIE PATTERSON
HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas - Marie Patterson, 74, of Daingerfield, Texas, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Patterson was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Hodge, La. She was a unit clerk at a hospital and member of Hughes Springs Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Patterson, in 2000.
Survivors include one son and daughter - in - law, Ricky and Dana Patterson of Valliant, Okla.; two daughters and sons - in - law, Judy and Nolen Yancey and Karen and Rodney Sizemore of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother and sister - in - law, Kerry and Kay Smith of Quitman, Ark.; nine grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Reeder - Davis Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. L.A. Moran and H.G. Hargrave officiating. Burial will be in Daingerfield Cemetery.
GARRY McMICHAEL
Garry Don McMichael, 44, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at his home.
Mr. McMichael was born Feb. 27, 1959, in Cass County, Texas. He was an employee of the Texarkana Gazette.
Survivors include his wife, Shanyke McMichael of Texarkana; two sisters, Terry Smith of Hughes Springs, Texas, and Angela Hunter of Mount Pleasant, Texas; one brother, Scott McMichael of Hughes Springs; one half - brother, Glen Shoecraft of Fort Worth, Texas; two stepchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Flat Creek Cemetery, Marietta, Texas, with Rayford Eaton officiating. Burial will be under direction of East Funeral Home, Downtown.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

HOUSTON - Russell S. Allen of Houston died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at St. Luke's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. James W. Moore officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Hope, Ark., under direction of Geo. H. Lewis and Sons Funeral Home.
OPZENIA MOSS
Opzenia Moss, 71, of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Moss was born June 16, 1932, in Bowie County, Texas. She was a member of Mount Orange Baptist Church and choir.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia J. White of Texarkana; two brothers, Luther Waites of Huntsville, Ala., and Verdett Martin of Houston; two sisters, Ethel Brown and Pinkie Houff of Texarkana; two granddaughters, Carla Caldwell of Minneapolis and Shelette Carlwell of Texarkana; one great - grandson, Johnny; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Orange Baptist Church with the Rev. M.F. Brewster officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
R.C. WEBSTER
R.C. "Payday" Webster, 58, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mr. Webster was born July 7, 1945, in Calion, Ark. He was a heavy equipment operator and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Webster of Texarkana; one son, Steve Webster of Texarkana; two daughters, Sharon Webster and Sandra Dawson of Texarkana; one brother, J.C. Webster of Lily, La.; one sister, Abbie Rogers of Texarkana; six grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Thomas E. Haynes Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Warren Ganter officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

JOSEPHINE PLOGER
Josephine Ploger, 86, of Texarkana, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Ploger was born Oct. 30, 1917, in Houston. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.
Survivors include one nephew, Larry Whatley of San Antonio; and one niece, Lucia Erickson of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of East Funeral Home, Downtown.
WINDELL BRILEY
ATLANTA, Texas - Windell "Sonny" Briley, 74, of Marietta, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, in Omaha, Texas.
Mr. Briley was born Oct. 23, 1929, in Marietta. He was a member of Marietta Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Marie Stroman of Omaha; three nephews, Carroll Briley of Wylie, Texas, Ray Briley of Oregon and Jack Briley of Richardson, Texas; and one niece, Beverly Pate of Longview, Texas.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Jan. 22 in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Burial was under direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
BILLIE THOMAS
Billie Joyce Willis Thomas, 61, of Toledo, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Thomas was born July 14, 1942, in Nash, Texas. She was a cosmetologist, a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Toledo.
Survivors include her husband, James R. Thomas of Toledo; two sons, Gilbert R. Willis and James Thomas of Toledo; her mother, Dorothy Mae Willis of Nash; two sisters, Sue Ann Strong and Cheryl Rena Hooks of Texarkana; and six brothers, Lonnie Willis, Ronnie Willis, Gerald Willis, Kenneth Willis, John Willis and Patrick Willis of Texarkana.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church with Overseer Duane Tisdale and the Rev. A.T. Jordan Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
