LUBBOCK, Texas - Fannie Lee Lewis Melton, 77, of Texarkana, died Monday, June 28, 2004, in Texarkana.
Mrs. Melton was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Mart, Texas. She was retired from Lubbock Independent School District, a former employee of South Plains Funeral Home and a member of Bethel AME Church where she service as a Sunday school teacher and in the senior choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Melton.
Survivors include two sons and daughters - in - law, Frank L. and Rubys Brown Melton of San Antonio and Charles L. and Delores Hayes Melton of Texarkana; one daughter and son - in - law, Olympia Melton and Albert Joe Evans; two sisters and one brother - in - law, Elnoria Madkin and March Mae and Lorenzo Tramble of Prairie View, Texas; four grandsons; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Bethel AME Church with the Rev. Jessie Benson officiating. Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery under direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
WILLIAM GEORGE
DEKALB, Texas - William Franklin George, 91, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mr. George was born Aug. 22, 1912, in Bowie County, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a member of South Texarkana Baptist Church, Edwards Lodge 593 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 8396, a 32nd degree mason and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles W. George.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Lee George of Texarkana; two daughters and sons - in - law, Linda M. and Sid Pierce of Diana, Texas, and Pamela S. and Bob Weaver of Avery, Texas; one brother, Clifford George of Oregon; two sisters, Ruby Simmons of Greenville, Texas, and Cleo Turk of Clarksville, Texas; five grandchildren; four great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Bates - Rolf Funeral Home with the Rev. William V. Garner and Randy Williams officiating. Burial will be in Woodmen Cemetery.

IDABEL, Okla. - Emily Bryant, 94, of Garvin, Okla., died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, in Idabel.
Mrs. Bryant was born May 19, 1910, in Garvin. She was a homemaker and affiliated with the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bryant; and one son, Albert Bryant.
Survivors include two sons and daughters - in - law, Butch and Brenda Bryant of Idabel and Bill and Sherry Bryant of Garvin; one daughter, Sue Carter of Garvin; two sisters, Delia McCurry and Eara Bell Skelton of Wright City, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today in Forest Hill Cemetery, Forest Grove Community, Okla., with Jim Mashburn officiating. Burial will be under direction of Norwood - Coffey - Leonard Funeral Home.

Heather Jane Banks Brennan, 30, of New Boston, Texas, died Thursday, July 1, 2004, at her home.
Survivors include her parents, Benny and Jane Skaggs of New Boston and Ken Banks of Flower Mound, Texas; one brother and his friend, Sean Banks and Laura Wardell; one niece, Madison Banks of Carrollton, Texas; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Moores Lane. Burial will be in Read Hill Cemetery, New Boston, under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.

ATLANTA, Texas - Kason Thomas Drake, infant son of Jason and Lindsey Drake of Atlanta died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, in Texarkana.
Kason was born June 29, 2004.
Other survivors include two sisters, Autumn Drake of Hooks, Texas, and Madeline Corn of Atlanta; and his grandparents, Lee and Pat Stanley, Vernon and Jo Sellars and Tommy and Marilyn Drake of Atlanta.
Private graveside services will be 10 a.m. today in O'Farrell Cemetery, O'Farrell, Texas, with the Rev. Joe Srygley officiating. Burial will be under direction of Hanner Funeral Home.

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas - Kenneth "Tex" Stanton, 61, of Dallas, Texas, died Friday, June 25, 2004, in a Dallas hospital.
Mr. Stanton was born March 30, 1943, in Marion County, Texas.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Lewis and Ruby Stanton of Mims, Texas; two brothers and one sister - in - law, Morris and Margaret Armstrong of Oak Leaf, Texas, and Howard Armstrong of Dallas; three sisters and two brothers - in - law, Jean Jackson of Portland, Ore., Sherrie and Larry Stevens of Hallsville, Texas, and Vernessia and Jimmy Evans of Seagoville, Texas; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Warlock United Methodist Church, Mims, with the Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mims Chapel Cemetery under direction of Reeder - Davis Funeral home.

Johnny Lewis Bell, 58, of Wake Village, Texas, died Monday, June 21, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mr. Bell was born Sept. 7, 1945, in Wake Village. He was a former employee of Cooper Tire and Rubber Co., an employee of Home Depot and a member of United Rubber Workers Union Local 752.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Bell of Texarkana; two daughters, Trisa Hickey of Wake Village and Toni Sanders of Cordova, Tenn.; one son, Kelly Bell of Newport News, Va.; four brothers, Lloyd Bell, Buddy Bell and Wayne Waters of Texarkana and Harvey Rose of Las Vegas; one sister, Peggy Hyman of Texarkana; 10 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Erman B. Kincaid, 81, of Texarkana, Texas, formerly of Newport News, Va., died Friday, June 18, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mr. Kincaid was born July 10, 1922, in Deerfield, Va. He was retired from Newport News Shipyard, a member of Denbigh Baptist Church and 94th Signal Co., and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Sutton Kincaid.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Conner of Matthews, Va., Brenda Abbott of Williamsburg, Va., and Wanda Wood of Texarkana; two brothers, Ackley Kincaid of Hampton, Va., and Ernest Kincaid Jr. of Newport News; one sister, Kay Easthom of Hampton; four grandchildren, Michelle Caver of Atlanta, Texas, Melissa Gilbert of Richmond, Va., Ronald Abbott Jr. of Williamsburg and Kevin Conner of Newport News; five great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

IRVING, Texas - Robert Joel "Bob" Dial, 91, of Irving died Sunday, June 20, 2004, in Irving.
Mr. Dial was born May 24, 1913, in Holly Grove, Ark. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and Wake Village Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mamie Walker; and one son, Robert M. Wise.
Survivors include his wife, Letty Jo Dial; one daughter and son - in - law, Neta Dial and Dwight Recht; two sons and daughters - in - law, Joel and Ruby Jenkins Dial and Chris and Francis Wise; one daughter - in - law, Nancy Wise; two stepdaughters, Deanna Stein and Joellen Fletcher; numerous grandchildren, great - grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

Willard Harold Maddox, 87, of Maud, Texas, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mr. Maddox was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Joplin, Mo. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad and a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Hensley Maddox in 1999; and one son, Bobby Joe Maddox in 1999.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Johnson of Olive Branch, Miss.; two brothers, Merle Maddox of Pittsburg, Texas, and Lloyd Maddox of Odessa, Texas; four sisters, Mildred McDonald of Dallas, Barbara Rayburn of Midland, Texas, Margie Gunn - Nutman of Panaca, Nev., and JoAnn Carter of Garland, Texas; two grandchildren, Deborah Law of Olive Branch and Jeffrey Maddox Johnson of Red Banks, Miss.; four other grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Texarkana Funeral Home with the Rev. George Otwell officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
