LINDEN, Texas - J.O. Blakely, 70, of Linden died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, in Linden.
Mr. Blakely was born July 11, 1933, in Dallas. He was a retired Dallas Fire Department Captain and a member of Linden Lions Club and Linden United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the church choir, Men's Choir and Men's Bible Class.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Blakely of Linden; two sons, James Daniel Blakely of Red Oak, Texas, and Steven Ray Blakely of Linden; two daughters, Patricia Darlene Guffey of Pittsburg, Texas, and Barbara Sue Pryor of Quitman, Texas; his mother, Gussie Riley of Balch Springs, Texas; two brothers, Lorn Blakely of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Don Blakely of Quinlan, Texas; one sister, Nettie Dickens of Forney, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and a number of great - grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Linden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark McClanahan officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Cass County, Texas, under direction of Haaland Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
CARL GRABLE
NEW BOSTON, Texas - Carl Franklin Grable, 82, of New Boston died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mr. Grable was born Feb. 18, 1922, in Edgerton, Mo. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a member of New Boston First Baptist Church and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by two wives, Rita Quinn and Joyce Atchley; and one son, Carl Grable Jr.
Survivors include three sons, John Grable of San Antonio, William Grable of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Robert Grable of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Buelah Martin of Gower, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Brian Grable of Albuquerque, Kali Grable and Katy Grable of San Antonio and Elicia Grable of Lake Oswego.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Bates - Rolf Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ken Cox officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery, Texarkana.
OSCAR GAMBLE
MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas - Oscar L. Gamble, 67, of Naples, Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in Tyler, Texas.
Mr. Gamble was born April 15, 1936, in Omaha, Texas. He was a former employee of the City of Los Angeles, a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include one daughter, Wendy Lynette Gamble of Arcadia, Calif.; one son, Kevin Antonio Gamble of Los Angeles; three stepchildren, Stephanie Johnson, George Johnson and Kim Brown of Pasadena, Calif.; one brother, Charles Hines of Texarkana; one sister, Exie Lavon Webster of Longview, Texas; eight grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church, Naples, with the Revs. James Boyce and L.C. Webster officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery, Omaha, under direction of Tumey Mortuary.
Body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

DeKALB, Texas - Pauline Clark, 79, of DeKalb died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.
Mrs. Clark was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Bowie County, Texas. She was a homemaker, owner and operator of Clark's Nursery and Landscaping and a member of Pinkham Memorial Missionary Baptist Church where she was in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by two great - grandchildren, Emily Clark and Haleigh Walton.
Survivors include her husband, Lana V. Clark Sr. of DeKalb; four sons, L.C. Clark, Gary Clark and Keith Clark of DeKalb and Terry Clark of Foreman, Ark.; two daughters, Patsy Parker and Wanda Bishop of DeKalb; two sisters, Iva McShane and Dorothy Grimes of Weatherford, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 21 great - grandchildren; seven great - great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Mrs. Huffman was born March 26, 1953, in Linden, Texas. She was a cosmetologist and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Huffman of Atlanta; two daughters, Melanie Smoak of Naples, Texas, and Angie Neeley of Lindale, Texas; her mother, Beulah Jones of Hughes Springs; five brothers, Royce Jones, Horace Jones, Jimmy Jones and Jerry Jones of Hughes Springs and Harold Jones of Pittsburg, Texas; two sisters, Diann young of Marietta, Texas, and Mary Beckett of Hughes Springs; three grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Samuel A. Pasley, 83, of San Antonio died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004.
Mr. Pasley was born in Texarkana, Texas. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Pasley in 1992; and one grandson, William "Scooter" Gibbon in 1997.
Survivors include two daughters and one son - in - law, Betty Jo King and Nancy and Billy Gibbon of San Antonio; two sisters, Mary Jo Pasley and Helen Allen of New Boston, Texas; one sister - in - law, Bea Pasley of New Boston; six grandchildren; 13 great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Dexter T. Clary, 85, of Maud, Texas, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mr. Clary was born Nov. 16, 1918, in Redwater, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a Deacon and member of Maud First Baptist Church and past President of Maud School Board. He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy L. Clary.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter - in - law, Jimmy Clary of Maud and Alan and Fonda Clary of Wake Village, Texas; one daughter and son - in - law, Ann and Perry Odom of Little Elm, Texas; one sister, Imogene Bivens of Wake Village; three sisters - in - law and two brothers - in - law, Clara Breed of Maud, Mildred and Billy Webb and Bernice and Willie Pipes of Redwater; six grandchildren; and six great - grandchildren.

Mr. Cox was born April 11, 1945, in Texarkana. He was retired from Dyke Industries Inc. and a member of Tennessee Baptist Church.

Mr. Talley was born Jan. 9, 1912, in DeKalb, Texas. He was a retired farmer and a member of New Boston Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Janie Talley on Aug. 19, 1995.
Survivors include three stepdaughters, Katie Notter and Wilma Walker of League City, Texas, and Bonnie Bowley of DeKalb; one brother and sister - in - law, Aurthur and Mary Talley of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters and one brother - in - law, Verna Coleman of Spokane and Dale and Bob Vandiver of Harrison, Ark.; one sister - in - law, Elsie Talley of Maud; and a number of nieces and nephews.
