LINDEN,  Texas - Kenneth Robison, 38, of Atlanta,  Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in a Clarksville,  Texas, hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Linden Funeral Home.

AL RUNNELS JR.

DALLAS - Al Runnels Jr., 76, of Hooks,  Texas, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, in an Arlington,  Texas, hospital.

Mr. Runnels was born June 20, 1927.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons - in - law, Mattie and Horace Brewer, Mary L. and Bobby  Washington and Florence Marie Runnels of Fort Worth,  Texas; two sons, Troy L. Runnels of Fort Worth and Johnny R. Runnels of Dallas; two sisters; three brothers; one brother - in - law; 16 grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Atlanta Street Church of Christ, Texarkana. Burial will be in Cedar Springs Cemetery, Hooks, under direction of Lomax Funeral Home.

Wake services will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Burns Church of Christ, Hooks.

GEORGIA HUEY

Georgia Huey, 68, of Hooks,  Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Huey was born Feb. 18, 1936, in Garland City, Ark. She was a member of Leary Chapel Baptist Church and Minister's Wives Association.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Clemia T. Huey Sr. of Hooks; two sons, Clemia T. Huey Jr. of Leary,  Texas, and Tony M. Huey Sr. of Atlanta, Ga.; four daughters, Debra Hooks of Austin, Dorothy Hooks and Angela Rowden of Leary and Thelma Reeves of Anniston, Ala.; one brother, Timothy Townsel of California; three sisters, Bertha Fisher, Lizzie Gulley and Faye Cole of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; and six great - grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Hooks, with the Rev. U. Forte officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

EULA WILLIAMS

Eula Williams, 91, of DeKalb,  Texas, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, in New Boston,  Texas.

Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 18, 1913, in DeKalb. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, DeKalb.

Survivors include one daughter, Opal Whitley of DeKalb; two brothers, Melvin Smith of DeKalb and Leo Smith of Kingston, N.C.; eight grandchildren; 15 great - grandchildren; and 18 great - great - grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Harrell Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ARMISTIC BATTLE

ATLANTA,  Texas - Armistic L. "Mule" Battle, 60, of Atlanta died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Battle was born April 19, 1943, in Douglassville,  Texas. He was an employee of International Paper and a member of St. John Missionary Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janette Battle of Atlanta; three sons and daughters - in - law, Anthony and Ulanda Battle, Armistic II and Betty Battle and Alan and Sylinda Battle; one daughter, Kezlyn P. Buford - Levels; his foster mother, Spencer Smith; four sisters, Kleesta Hunter, Vanessa Gaines, Kinili Calico and Nikieta Smith; and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Leon Talton officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery Panhandle under direction of Coleman - Atlanta Funeral Home.

Wake services will be 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John Missionary Church.

The body may be viewed noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John Missionary Church.

CAROLYN BAILEY

NEW BOSTON,  Texas - Carolyn Ann Bailey, 58, of New Boston died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, in a DeKalb,  Texas, nursing home.

Mrs. Bailey was born April 13, 1945, in San Antonio. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons - in - law, Tammy and Gary Baker of Longview,  Texas, Cindy and Terry Lanier of Daingerfield,  Texas, and Brandi Elkins of New Boston; her mother, Evelyn Hoemke of San Antonio; two brothers and sisters - in - law, Jack and Pam Hoemke of Brookfield, Wis., and Jim and Kathy Hoemke of Madison, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and one great - grandchild.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bates - Rolf Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Joe Hocking officiating. Burial will be in Lenox Hill Cemetery, DeKalb.

The family will be at 215 Westwood St., New Boston.

Memorials may be made to Greater Hospice of  Texas, 1905 W. Loop 281 Space 81, Longview,  Texas, 75604.

JUNE ELLINGTON

NAPLES,  Texas - June Ellington, 82, of Mount Pleasant,  Texas, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Ellington was born June 17, 1921, in Naples. She was a retired merchant and a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include one sister - in - law, Maudine Ellington of Mount Pleasant; two nephews and one niece - in - law, Arnold Ellington of Mount Pleasant and Danny and Jerri Ann Ellington of Marietta,  Texas; two great - nieces, Danna Ellington and Dacey Ellington of Marietta; and a number of cousins.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Nolan Richey and Tommy Milam officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice.

WILLIAM ASHLIN

William Kenneth "Grandpa" Ashlin, 78, of Redwater,  Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004.

Mr. Ashlin was born July 2, 1925, in Magazine, Ark. He was a former employee of McConnell Heavy Haulers, retired from Commercial Storage and Red River Army Depot, a member of Redwater Church of Christ, a former member of Civil Air Patrol and a decorated World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Spain Ashlin; and three children, Judith Nell Ashlin, Timothy Allen Ashlin and Rebecca Jane Spence.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Ashlin of Redwater, Bobby Ashlin of Jacksonville, Ark., and Randy Ashlin of Beaumont,  Texas; five sisters, Berta Barnett of Russ,  Texas, Marie Cross and Maxine Spain of Jacksonville, Bonnie Culwell of Kansas City, Mo., and Mary Larkin of Cabot, Ark.; one special friend, Melba Palmertree; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at East Funeral Home, Downtown, Memorial Chapel with Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in Redwater Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MACK WATSON

Mack Charles Watson, 74, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Watson was born March 13, 1929, in  Washington, Ark. He was retired from the City of Texarkana,  Texas, and Day & Zimmermann Lone Star Division, a member of Mount Moriah Church and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Watson; and one grandson, Joseph Russey.

Survivors include one daughter, Willie Mae Wallace of Minneapolis; one brother, Elijah "Sunny Man" Watson of Detroit; three sisters and one brother - in - law, Ellen M. Carter of Temple,  Texas, Wilma L. Dixon of Texarkana and Dorothy and James  Johnson of Hope, Ark.; two granddaughters, Amanda "Nikita"  Johnson of Texarkana and Berjoeneana Wallace of Minneapolis; one aunt, Ola Carrington of Little Rock; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Koontz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Blevins, Ark., under direction of Lyles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

JOHN PATTERSON

HUGHES SPRINGS,  Texas - John L. Patterson, 65, of Linden,  Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in a Linden hospital.

Mr. Patterson was born Oct. 14, 1938, in Linden. He was retired from the Navy, an employee of Atlas/Georgia Pacific Roofing, Daingerfield,  Texas, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Fleet Reserves and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Patterson of Linden; one daughter, Michell Patterson of Linden; and one granddaughter, Lauren Skye Patterson of Linden.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Reeder - Davis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Neeley officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery.

The body may be viewed all day today and visitation will begin at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

LESLIE HARPER

ATLANTA,  Texas - Leslie Harper, 84, of Atlanta died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in a Dallas hospital.

Mr. Harper was born July 6, 1919, in Atlanta. He was retired from Red River Army Depot. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Jean Harper, on Dec. 22, 1966.

Survivors include five daughters, Gwendolyn Farris and Theresa Owens of DeSoto,  Texas, Sharon McClellan of Lewisville,  Texas, and Reshelle Turner and Saundra Fulce of Texarkana; one son, Robert Charles Harper of Atlanta; one brother, Leo Harper of Las Angeles; 16 grandchildren; and three great - grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul CME Church with the Rev. S.L. Slade officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery under direction of Community Mortuary.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

VERA LEWIS

HUGHES SPRINGS,  Texas - Vera Lewis, 92, of Hughes Springs died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Lewis was born Oct. 11, 1911, in Hughes Springs. She was an employee of the Kasling family and a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Morris Delight Chapter, Heroines of Jericho, Love Chapel Court 429 and Love Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lewis; and one son, James Lewis.

Survivors include one brother, H.C. Peppers of Hughes Springs; one stepdaughter, Bessie Adams of Los Angeles; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Love Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Lawrence Stokes officiating. Burial will be in Love Chapel Cemetery under direction of Reeder - Davis Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home.

OSCAR GAMBLE

MOUNT PLEASANT,  Texas - Oscar Gamble, 67, of Naples,  Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in a Tyler,  Texas, hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Tumey Mortuary.

JOHN PATTERSON

HUGHES SPRINGS,  Texas - John L. Patterson, 65, of Linden,  Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in a Linden hospital.

Arrangements are under direction of Reeder - Davis Funeral Home.

OLLIE MADERE

DENTON,  Texas - Ollie Marie Madere, 92, of Denton died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Madere was born Oct. 28, 1911, in Maud,  Texas. She was a former hotel owner and operator in Hughes Springs,  Texas, a charter member of Daingerfield Christian Church, Daingerfield,  Texas, and a member of Red Radiance Garden Club and Sesame Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Georgia Bray of Denton; one son, F.N. Madere of San Angelo; and two grandchildren, Brad Bray of Plano,  Texas, and Lori Bray of Denton.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under direction of Mulkey - Mason Funeral Home.
