BOWIE,  Texas - Reba Self Wall, 87, of Bowie, formerly of Texarkana, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in Bowie.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today in New Ford Cemetery. Burial will be under direction of Fry Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Forest Wall of Bowie; one daughter, Helen Irvin of Red Lick,  Texas; two grandsons, Doug Raney and Paul Raney of Texarkana; two granddaughters, Gayle Little and Tonya Alexander of Red Lick; and 10 great - grandchildren.

The family will be at 92 Farren Rd., Red Lick.

WILLIAM MOSS

DENTON,  Texas - William "Bill" Moss, 69, of Denton died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in a local hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Peoples Funeral Home.

MARJORIE COMBER

DeKALB,  Texas - Marjorie May Comber, 81, of DeKalb died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Comber was born Sept. 28, 1922, in Altadena,  Calif. She was a retired electronics inspector and a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L.C. Comber.

Survivors include two daughters and sons - in - law, Dixie and Donald Barsz and Midge and Martin Yount of DeKalb; one sister, Juanita Dillard of Portland, Ore.; two grandsons and granddaughters - in - law, Marty and Cheryl Yount of New Boston,  Texas, and Mike and Patricia Yount of Texarkana; seven great - grandchildren; two great - great - grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bates - Rolf Funeral Home Chapel with Robby Bates officiating. Burial will be in Hubbard Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

JUDITH AKARD

Judith Shea Akard, 50, of Nash,  Texas, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at her home.

Mrs. Akard was born Feb. 6, 1954, in Camden, Ark. She was a licensed practical nurse.

Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Akard of Nash; three daughters, Brandy Ben - Simon of New York City, Misty Franklin of Atlanta, Ga., and Mindy Franklin of Richmond, Va.; one stepdaughter, Amanda Akard of Paris,  Texas; one son, Jeffrey Franklin of Jacksonville, Fla.; one stepson, Jason Akard of Paris; two sisters, Patricia Thomas of Ashdown, Ark., and Betty Hoover of Texarkana; one brother, Thomas Shea of Nash; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane, Memorial Chapel with Steven Thomas officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

BEATRICE BYRD

ATLANTA,  Texas - Beatrice Byrd, 79, of Atlanta,  Texas, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in a local hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Community Mortuary.

LEE REDDICK

Lee Otha Reddick, 49, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in a local hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Haynes Mortuary.

ROBERT WALLER

DeKALB,  Texas - Robert Lee Waller, 72, of DeKalb,  Texas, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Waller was born May 21, 1931, in Coleman Springs,  Texas. He was a retired Bowie County School Superintendent and Educator, President of Western Bowie County Retired Teachers Association, a member of First United Methodist Church, DeKalb and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Baird Waller of DeKalb; one daughter and son - in - law, Ellen and Paul Coleman of DeKalb; two sons and daughters - in - law, Scott and Jill Waller, Nacogdoches,  Texas, and Rob and Karen Waller of Tyler,  Texas; and six grandsons.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Hoefner officiating. Burial will be in Woodmen Cemetery under direction of Bates - Rolf Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 396, DeKalb,  Texas, 75559.

DON MITCHELL SR.

Don Alvin Mitchell Sr., 70, of Texarkana,  Texas died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 in a local hospital.

Mr. Mitchell was born Feb. 4, 1934, in Texarkana. He was retired form Red River Army Depot.

Survivors include two sons, Don Alvin Mitchell Jr. of Fort Worth,  Texas, and Van Mitchell of Texarkana; three daughters, Sally Higgins and Judith Mitchell of Texarkana, and Bonnie L. Clarkson of Sherman,  Texas; three brothers, Maurice Van Mitchell of Lubbock,  Texas, and Peter Mitchell and Albert Mitchell of Texarkana; one sister, Beulah Lee Mitchell of Texarkana; six grandchildren; one great - grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Texarkana Funeral Home Fuqua - Everett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. J.B. Yelverton officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery.

WILLIAM LANDERS

HUGHES SPRINGS,  Texas - William "Bill" Landers, 69, of Hughes Springs, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Landers was born July 13, 1934, in Tyler,  Texas. He worked for the Postal Service, was a former postmaster of Hughes Springs, a member of Lions Club, Wildflower Trails of  Texas and Hughes Springs First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Franklin Landers of Hughes Springs; three sons, Travis L. Landers of Winnsboro,  Texas, Mark W. Landers of Longview,  Texas, and Ryan Ray of San Diego,  Calif.; two daughters, Kathi Burney of Hughes Springs and Virginia Lynn Reppond of Longview; two brothers, Oscar N. Landers of Gladewater,  Texas, and Albert L. Landers of Lindale; two sisters, Delores Bolling of El Dorado, Ark., and Nellie F. Turner of Gladewater; 13 grandchildren; four great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Hughes Springs First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mickey Rorex officiating. Burial will be in Hughes Springs Cemetery under direction of Reeder - Davis Funeral Home.

MINNIE VANHOOK

Minnie Mae Vanhook, 93, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in a local nursing home.

Arrangements are pending with Richardson Hill Funeral Home.

OTHELLA THOMPSON

Othella Aaron Thompson, 83, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, in a Dallas hospital.

Mrs. Thompson was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Fouke, Ark. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. "Hoss" Thompson.

Survivors include one daughter and son - in - law, Barbara Sue and Boyce N. Woodard; two grandsons and granddaughters - in - law, Robert L. and Babette Woodard and Boyce Allan and Alicia Woodard; one great - grandson, Cory Lynn Woodard; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Concord Holiness Church, Fouke, with the Rev. Don Attaway officiating. Cremation arrangements are under direction of East Funeral Home, Downtown.

CURLEY CAMPBELL

Curley Leah Campbell, 71, of New Boston,  Texas, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Campbell was born Oct. 25, 1932, in New Boston. She was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant and a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church, where she was an usher, church secretary, Sunday school mentor and member of the missionary department and CCU Eagles.

Survivors include two sons, Walter T. Campbell and Oliver L. Campbell of New Boston; two daughters, Scarlette R. Hooks of Ashdown, Ark., and Brenda S.  Johnson of Hooks,  Texas; two brothers, Hosea Hopkins of California and Travis Hopkins of St. Louis; one sister, Ruby Sharlett of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; 14 great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Prosperity Baptist Church with the Rev. S.T. Hillard officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Prosperity Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ALICE WILLIAMS

Alice Marie Williams, 54, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Williams was born June 3, 1949, in Texarkana. She was a member of Lonoke Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Williams of Texarkana; one daughter, Shirley Williams of Texarkana; two nieces, Mary Franklin and Linda Austin of Texarkana; and two nephews, Marcus Manley of Dallas and David Morris of Little Rock.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lonoke Baptist Church. Burial will be in Nash Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

THELMA COLE

Thelma Lucille Cole, 62, of Temple,  Texas, formerly of New Boston,  Texas, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, in a Temple nursing home.

Mrs. Cole was born Oct. 14, 1941, in Spring Garden, Ala. She was a seamstress and a member of Gresham Baptist Church, Gresham,  Texas.

Survivors include two daughters, June Gowen of San Antonio and Sharon Bryant of Killeen,  Texas; three sons, Jeff Cole of Waynesville, Mo., and Hugh Cole and Tim Cole of New Boston; five sisters, Joyce Adams of Texarkana, LulaBelle King of Piedmont, Ala., Shiryl Bruce of Daingerfield,  Texas, Ann Beard of Moulton, Ala., and Alene Lewis of Canada, Okla.; two brothers, Harold Studdard of Rainbow City, Ala., and Roger Studdard of Moulton; 14 grandchildren; three great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Cole officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home of Hugh Cole in New Boston.

HELEN TANKERSLEY

NEW BOSTON,  Texas - Helen O. Tankersley, 79, of Nacogdoches,  Texas, formerly of Leary,  Texas, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, in Nacogdoches.

Arrangements are pending with Bates - Rolf Funeral Home.

LOUISE MITCHELL

MOUNT PLEASANT,  Texas - Louise J. Mitchell, 79, of Mount Pleasant died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Mitchell was born June 26, 1924, in Warsaw,  Texas. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mitchell; and three sons, Charles Mitchell, Wesley Mitchell and Anthony P. Mitchell.

Survivors include two sons and three daughters - in - law, Ray and Brenda Mitchell of  Washington, D.C., and Bobby and Chrissandra Mitchell and Catherine Mitchell of Dallas; one sister, Alice Edwards of Denver; 11 grandchildren; seven great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Kirthell Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Edwards Cemetery under direction of Tumey Mortuary.

The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
