Guerra
Trinidad C. Guerra, 78, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001. She was born Dec. 13, 1922, in Dilley to Sabino and Florencia (Ruiz) Cervantes. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Epifanio Guerra.
Survivors include three daughters, Sulema Montoya, Yolanda Castillo (Domingo) and Olga Guerra (Rogelio Vasquez), all of Beeville; three sons, Guadalupe Guerra of Beeville, Jose Guerra (Oralia) of Tulia and Epifanio Guerra (Lucia Soto) of Taft; 24 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church, with Father Pasala officiating.
Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2. Pallbearers were George, Manuel, P.J., Michael and Andrew Montoya and Daniel Guerra.
Luna
Gregoria Luna, 95, died at 12:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Visitation will be until 9 o’clock tonight (Wednesday) at the Angelus Funeral Home chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7 o’clock tonight at the Angelus chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.
Mrs. Luna was born March 11, 1906, in Abasolo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Juaquina (Cardenas) and Dasidario De La Garza. She was a homemaker and a member of St. James Church.
Survivors include her husband, Candelario Luna of Beeville; a daughter, Maria Guadalupe Luna of Beeville; a son, Leonel Luna of Houston; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Morón
Francisco G. “Pancho” Morón, 81, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001.
He was born in Placedo on Dec. 26, 1919, to Jose and Petra (Garcia) Morón.
He married Cecelia Elizalde on May 6, 1946, in Beeville.
He was a self-employed carpenter before his retirement. He was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Augustina M. Tapia and Carmen M. Garcia.
Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Elizalde Morón; two daughters, Juanita M. Baldillez (Alberto) and Josie M. Campbell (Frankie Barrera); two sons, Jose Angel Morón (Diana) and James E. Morón (Debra); a brother, Concepcion G. “Chon” Morón, all of Beeville; eight grandchildren, Orlando Roel Morón, Michael Angelo Morón, Jessica Adele and Erica Ada Baldillez, Freedom Annette Valdez, Chastity Uvette Campbell, Joshua James Morón and Jahna Jajnnal Morón; and four great-grandchildren, Derek Michael Morón, Demi Genesis Rincon and Paul Eric Gonzales.

Ramsden
Veronica Ramsden, 32, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, in Cypress. She was born Dec. 15, 1968, in Houston.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Carter Ramsden; a daughter, Victoria Paige Ramsden; a son, Brandon Carter Ramsden; her parents, Luvin and Lillie Garcia; two brothers, Robert and Freddy Garcia; her grandmother, Rosa Garcia; her grandfather, Henry Moreno of Beeville; a sister-in-law, Audra Garcia; and her parents-in-law, Frank Carter Ramsden and wife Betty.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Brookside Funeral Home in Houston. The funeral Mass was celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Brookside chapel.
The burial service followed in Brookside Memorial Park.
Bray
Nina May (Owings) Bray, 82, a retired elementary school teacher with the Austin ISD, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, following a brief hospitalization.
She was born July 19, 1919, in the Friendship community in Bee County to Walter N. and Salura Francis Owings. Following high school graduation here in 1936, she attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, graduating with a degree in elementary education (physical education) in 1943. She married James Robert Bray, a journalist, in Pampa in 1947 and moved with him over the next decade to Denver, Colo., Houston, Galveston, Austin and Washington, D.C. Following his death in 1961, she taught in the Austin public schools until her retirement in 1980. Afterward, she continued as a substitute teacher at the Texas School for the Blind until 1990. In 1997, she moved to Corpus Christi.
Survivors include two sons, James R. Bray Jr. and wife Chris and William A. Bray and wife Carol of Corpus Christi; three daughters, Lee M. Bray and husband Andy Uhr of Arlington, Va., A. Elizabeth Bray-Tullos of Houston and Frances A. Bray of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and six grandchildren, Brian Bray and wife Claire of Texarkana, Julia Bray of Austin, Will and Emily Bray of Corpus Christi, Nicholas Davis and wife Jamie of St. Louis and Travis Springer of Denton.
The funeral was conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Parkway Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi, with Dr. David Evans officiating.
Burial followed at 4 p.m. in Cook-Walden/Capitol Memorial Park in Austin, with Dr. Chuck Merrill of Austin’s University United Methodist Church in Austin officiating.

Cummings
Gertrude Virginia Cummings, 86, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, in Beeville.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 9 o’clock this evening (Wednesday) at the Galloway & Sons Funeral Directors chapel.
A graveside service and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Beeville Memorial Park, with the Rev. Bill Stockton officiating.
Mrs. Cummings was born Oct. 16, 1915, in Martinsville, Ind., to Betty (Neal) and Ed Thomas. She married Joe E. Cummings in 1939 in New Braunfels. A resident of Beeville since Feb. 12, 1952, she was retired from the Beeville Country Club where she was manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include a niece, Kay Massey and husband Tom of Martinsville, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Barbara Schubert and husband Sy of Vero Beach, Fla.; a nephew, Paul Schubert of Indianapolis, Ind.; two great-nieces, Kathy Haste of Martinsville, Ind., and Karen Abell of Indianapolis; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Cardenas
Jessie H. Cardenas, 39, of Pasadena died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001. He was born here on May 3, 1962, to Juan Sr. and Josie (Hernandez) Cardenas. He was a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include his mother, Josie Hernandez Cardenas; eight sisters, Norma, Elsa, Linda, Cynthia, Brenda, Refugia, Priscilla and Elizabeth Cardenas; and seven brothers, Robert, Juan Jr., Ralph, Richard, Roger, Joseph and Michael Cardenas, all of Pasadena.
Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Treviño Funeral Home chapel. The funeral was held at 10 o’clock this (Wednesday) morning at the Treviño chapel, with Pastor Joe Treviño officiating.
Burial followed in the Ross Cemetery.
Del Bosque
Elvira Salas Del Bosque of San Antonio, formerly of Normanna, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, in a nursing center there.
She was born April 22, 1921, in Charco to Guadalupe and Simona (Yzaguirre) Salas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church. Her husband, Jacinto Del Bosque Sr., preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1990.
Survivors include a son, Jacinto Del Bosque Jr. and wife Norma of San Antonio; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are pending at Treviño Funeral Home.
Hill
Pauline B. Hill of Walnut Springs died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, following an extended illness.
The funeral was held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs, with the Rev. Anthony Cheek officiating.
Burial followed in Fulton Cemetery there. Pallbearers were Sam Polack, Charlie Polack, William Snell, Mike Snell, Lyle Lockhart and Nick Limberis.
Mrs. Hill was born in Beeville to Ulrick and Sadie Cecile (Browne) Wyatt. She married Tom C. Hill Jr. on Feb. 4, 1960, in Refugio. She was a retired schoolteacher and had taught in Blanconia, Sinton and Walnut Springs before retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2000. She also was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a brother and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Tom C. Hill III of Walnut Springs; two daughters, Ann Polack and husband Robert of Lake Charles, La., and Cecile Snell and husband John of Rye; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
Ashley
Robert “Daddy Bob” Ashley, 66, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Church of God of Prophecy in Mineral Wells.
Mr. Ashley was born Dec. 9, 1935, in Santa Anna to Mary Bernice (Rutherford) and A.C. Ashley. He married Deloris Stewart on March 13, 1971, in Mexico.
A resident of Beeville since 1991, he was employed as general superintendent with Rose & Sons Construction company.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris Stewart Ashley of Beeville; two sons, Daniel James of Beeville and David James and wife Linda of Mineral Wells; three daughters, Deborah Andrews of Abilene, Charity Harkraider Mitchell of Beeville and Marci Daniell Durocher of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Wilburn Ashley of Red Rock and Glenn Ashley of Fort Morgan, Colo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
