Dove
Trey C. Dove, 25, of Three Rivers died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, in an automobile accident in Live Oak County.
Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Galloway & Sons chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers, with Father Peter Gajda officiating. He was assisted by Pastor Don Jones.
Burial followed on the Dove Ranch Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeffery Escamilla, Jacob Escamilla, Ramon Soliz, Gino Garcia, Mickey Davis, Scottie Licona and Sonny Pacheco.
Honorary pallbearers were David R. Garcia, Andy Amaro, Jerry Escamilla, Sam Garcia, Wade Krause and Vidal Salas.
Mr. Dove was born March 6, 1976, in Kingsville to Roselyn (Zaiontz) and Clay Dove. He was a substitute teacher for the Three Rivers ISD and a football scout for Three Rivers High School. He also served as a basketball referee.
Survivors include his mother, Roselyn Dove of Three Rivers; a sister, Stephanie Dove of Karnes City; his paternal grandparents, Homer and Geannie Dove of Three Rivers; his maternal grandmother, Eleanor Zaiontz of Falls City; and several cousins, friends, aunts and uncles.

Geisler
Ollie Geisler, 92, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001. She was a retired schoolteacher and a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church. She was born Jan. 9, 1909, in Clareville and had lived in Corpus Christi since 1960. She had spent the last two years in Albuquerque, N.M., with her son.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Geisler, in 1989.
Survivors include her son, James Geisler and wife Patsy of Albuquerque; a sister, Claudia Wilson of Beeville; three grandchildren, Rebecca Mays and Jeffery and Deborah Geisler; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Dayton Mays.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cage-Mills Funeral Home, 4901 Everhart, in Corpus Christi.
Burial will follow at approximately noon in the Beeville Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Greiner
Michael L. Greiner, 59, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born Nov. 1, 1942, in Keota, Iowa. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1992 after serving for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Rita Greiner of Dinero; a daughter, Michelle Florence of Corpus Christi; three brothers, Le Roy Greiner of Mathis, Ronald Greiner of Arlington and Dennis Greiner of Lewisville, Kan.; four sisters, Virginia Weber of Sigourney, Iowa, Betty Jean Hossel of Minnesota, Darlene Burchfield of Cooper and Mary Ann Carson of Corpus Christi; and one grandson, Matthew Florence of Corpus Christi.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Flour Bluff-Padre Isles Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will be private.

Jones
James “Jimmy” Jones, 30, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in Beeville.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Angelus Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Vernon Helgren officiating.
Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.
Mr.  Jones was born April 18, 1971, in Natrona Heights, Pa., to Anne (Thompson) and Ronald Jones. He was a 1993 graduate of A.C.  Jones High School and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors inlcude his parents, Anne and Ronald  Jones of Beeville; a brother, Ronnie  Jones and wife Lea Anne of Beeville; a niece, Brooke Jones; a nephew, Ronald A.  Jones III; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Martha Thompson; his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Leona Jones; and a brother, Shad Jones, in 1989.

Long
Jourdine Josephine “Jerry” Long, 70, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Fashing to Alma B. (Meismer) and Eugene Syring. She married Richard Long on June 26, 1950. She was a retired beautician, having worked in Beeville for more than 30 years.
She had been a director for the  Texas Hairdressers and Cosmetology Association. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Eugenia; and three brothers, Raymond, Herbert and Lytle.
Survivors include a son, Lloyd Long and wife Linda; a granddaughter, Logan; a step-grandson, Joe DeLeon; a sister-in-law, Louella Brooks and husband Don; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Long’s body was donated to the University of  Texas Medical School in Galveston.
A memorial Mass was celebrated for her Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Loya
Frances Cantu Salinas Loya, 72, of Beeville died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in a Houston hospital, following a short illness. She was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Beeville to Aniceto and Angelita (Garcia) Cantu. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Santos Salinas (Raymond M.) Perez of Houston and Angelita Loya Staser of Pasadena; a sister, Stella Cantu Martinez of Beeville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ozzie C. Salinas, in 1981; a brother, Adan Cantu; and two sisters, Julia Arguijo and Elvira C. Villarreal Garza.
Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Treviño Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, with Father Richard Gonzales officiating.
Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Ozzie C. Salinas Jr., Charlie A. Salinas, Gabriel Aleman, Arturo Gonzales, John Gilbert Gutierrez and David Guerrero. Honorary pallbearers were Roland Salazar and Felipe Martinez Jr.

Mitchell
Former Pettus resident Betty Lou Pundt Mitchell, 62, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at her home in Odem, after a sudden illness.
She was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Floresville to Ernest W. and Julia (Hosek) Pundt. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pettus and a 4-H leader in San Patricio and Bee counties. She was a member of the San Patricio County home extension club.
Survivors include four sons, Arnold B. Smith Jr. of Corpus Christi; John E. Smith of Ingleside, David T. Smith of Benbrook and Bob Smith of Corpus Christi; a brother, Bryan H. Pundt of Mathis; three sisters, Kathryne Cormier of Pettus, Emma Jo Otwell of Ingleside on the Bay and Helen Jean Nelson of Pettus; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Pettus.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St., Corpus Christi, TX 78410.

Turnipseede
Ed Turnipseede, 83, of Beeville died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in George West.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.Thursday at Galloway &Sons chapel. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church here, with Dr. Jack Green officiating.
Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.

Womack
Opal A. Womack, 93, of Belton, formerly of Houston and Corpus Christi, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in Belton. She was born July 17, 1908, in Quanah to John E. and Edna (Goble) Allred. She was a member of the Belton Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Womack; a daughter, Lazella Beauchamp; two brothers, A.J. and Luther Allred; two sisters, Ossie and Orene Wilson; two granddaughters, Connie Gillmore and husband Steve of Belton and Sharon Sugarek and husband Bill of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Mary Edna Stockman and husband Rex of Houston and Ella Faye “Jackie” Weatherly and husband Lonnie of Livingston; a sister-in-law, Elmina Allred of Houston; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service and burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, with Steve Gillmore officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi.

Wright
James C. Wright, 69, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, in Corpus Christi.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating.
Entombment followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Dennis Stephenson, Roger Perkins, Isidro DelBosque, Kenneth Sciba, Jim Brown and Gary Besancon. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Wright was born Sept. 16, 1932, in Refugio to Elizabeth (Hickey) and William Ace Wright. He married Martha Perry on Oct. 27, 1950, in Woodsboro.
He was retired from Enron in 1992. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph’s Parish Council.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Perry Wright of Beeville; two sons, David Alan Wright of Fort Smith, Ark., and Larry Wright and wife Mary Lou of Beeville; a daughter, Jana Davis and husband Scotty of Choctaw, Okla.; a brother, Bernard Ray Wright of San Antonio; two sisters, Mary V. Hall of San Antonio and Elizabeth Coker of New Braunfels; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Landry
Jack Arthur Landry, 82, of Beeville died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002. A memorial service is pending.
Mr. Landry was born Nov. 27, 1919, in Walhalla, N.D., to Ida (Campbell) and Louis Landry.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Landry of St. Paul, Minn., and Kay Harkcom and husband Don of Hudson, Wis.; a son, Robert Landry and wife Julia of Faribault, Minn.; and six grandchildren.
