Tatum
Rebecca Mary Tatum, 67, a former Beeville resident, died on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, in Chicago, Ill.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel. A prayer service will be held that evening at 7 o’clock in the same location. Funeral services will be held there Friday morning at 10 o’clock, with the Rev. Jesse DeLaGarza officiating. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Roland Michael Cantu, Ruben Lopez, Rene and Johnny Jim Santana, Chris Hobbs and Steve Hamre.
Mrs. Tatum was born on Dec. 6, 1934, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. She was married to J.W. Tatum, who preceded her in death in 1974. She resided in Chicago, Ill., but had previously resided in Beeville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal church.
Mrs. Tatum is survived by her two sons, Johnny M. Santana of San Antonio and Lupe Santana of Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Danysch
Adeline Danysch, 86, of Beeville died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, in Wharton.
Services were held today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goliad with Father Ralph Baido officiating. Interment followed in Goliad’s Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Danysch was born on Aug. 13, 1916, in Elmendorf to William and Christine (Selzer) Robertson. She was married to Sigmund Danysch. Both her parents and her husband preceded her in death. She was a Catholic and a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughters, Adeline Marie Urbanek of Wharton and Lorine M. Urbanek of Beeville, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Davis
Margaret Barta Davis, 70, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. R.J. Jeanes officiating. Special music will be “In the Garden” and “Amazing Grace.”
Mrs. Davis was born on Jan. 17, 1932, in Corpus Christi to Joe Rudolph and Annie Augusta (Barnick) Barta.
She was a Corpus Christi resident and a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist church. Mrs. Davis loved gardening and tending to her yard. She baked candy, cookies and sweets, and loved to cook for her family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and her new puppy, Dusty.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her son, Larry (Margaret) Davis of Waco; two daughters, Mitzi (Robert) Stallings of George West and Jennifer (Bill) Andrews of Del City, Okla.; a sister, Evelyn (J.W.) Pittman of Beeville; five grandchildren, Tricia Davis of Waco, Karey (Otto) Cheatham of San Antonio, David Stallings of George West and Ashley and Matthew Andrews of Del City, Okla.; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Kaelan Cheatham of San Antonio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to one’s favorite charity.

Durment
Billie Jean Durment, 59, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Graveside services were held today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. at Beeville Memorial Park with the Rev. Dorso Maciel officiating.
Mrs. Durment was born on Nov. 17, 1942, in Kilgore to William Paul and Thelma Cleo (Warlick) Wren.
She was a Beeville resident and a retired officer of First National Bank. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church and Beta Sigma Phi.
Mrs. Durment is survived by her two sons, Steve Durment (Melissa Bass) of Beeville and Scott (Maggie) Durment of Pearland; and four grandchildren, Amanda Durment of Victoria, Mallory Durment of Pearland and Steven Tyler and Dexter Cabot Durment of Beeville.

King
J.B. King, 68, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at his residence in Skidmore.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at the same location at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Carl Pickett officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Mr. King was born on Jan. 16, 1934 in Waurika, Okla., to Ollie Edward and Ima Feltsie (Marney) King. He resided in Skidmore and was an oilfield worker. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Iona Irwin.
Mr. King is survived by four sons, Bobby Joe King of Bastrop, Rodney Earl King of Houston, Jimmy Lee King of Beeville and Dennis King of Austin; a daughter, Starla Jane Luna of Taylor; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, O.E. King of Beeville and Harold Edward King of Chickasha, Okla.; five sisters, Beatrice Pope of Weatherford, Ettie Lee  Taylor of Fort Worth, Louise Enos of Morton, Joyce Martin of Pocasset, Okla., and Loyce Goates of Chickasha, Okla.

Lindley
Eloisa Cisneros Lindley, 67, a Corpus Christi composer, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, in a hospital there.
She was well known for her record label, Old Shack Recording, and composed more than 300 songs. She was a guest on the original “Domingo Peña Show.”
She is survived by eight sons, Lester Marion (Delma) Lindley of Portland, Mario Garcia of Corpus Christi, Relles Andrew (Kathryn) Garcia of Houston, Guadalupe R. Garcia of Lakewood,  Colo., Robert Luis (Juanita) Garcia of Chicago, Ill., Lester Lee Lindley of Tampa, Fla., Preston K. (Linda) Lindley of Springdale, Ark., and David C. Lindley of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Martha K. Lindley of St. Louis, Mo.; four sisters, Elvira Cisneros of Corpus Christi, Angelita S. (Thomas H.) Cole of Beeville, Dorothy (Jose Omar) Escajeda of Pipe Creek and Angelica (Ynocensio) Alcoser of Corpus Christi; a grandson, Sebastian Navarre Lindley, and 17 other grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 29, at Memorial Funeral Home Crosstown Chapel in Corpus Christi. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. at that location. Interment followed at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Range
Lillian Buehring Range, 90, of Skidmore died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, in Goliad.
Visitation will be held this evening (Wednesday) from 5 to 7 o’clock at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with the Revs. Don  Taylor and Dick Bremer officiating. Special music will include “Abide With Me,” “How Great Thou Art” and “O Master Let Me Walk With Thee.” Burial will follow at Skidmore’s Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be H.L. Beyer, Keith Laechelin, Bryan Hadwin, James Strong, Shawn Hadwin and Jon Eric Lindblom.
Mrs. Range was born on May 24, 1912, in Beeville to Henry C. and Sophie (Bremer) Buehring. She was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was known as “G.G.” by her great-grandchildren.
She and her husband, Edgar, lived on a farm near Skidmore where they were avidly involved in raising cattle, crops and tending their yard and garden. Mrs. Range was a homemaker and substitute teacher for the Skidmore-Tynan Independent School District. She was a founding member of the Skidmore Historical Society, where many of her memoirs were on display. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Beeville. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting and gardening. She was a published writer and for many years wrote the Skidmore news for the Bee-Picayune.
Mrs. Range was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Edgar Julius Range, and six siblings, Louise Beyer, Fritz Buehring, Ella Leverman, Carl Buehring, Helene Osborne and Walter Buehring.
She is survived by two daughters, Rosilyn Thomas and husband J.D. of Houston and Shelley Lindblom and husband John of Goliad; two grandchildren, Jeff Thomas and Kelly Moore; three step-grandchildren, Heidi Kilgore, Leslie Christ and Jon Eric Lindblom; three great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and other special family members, including her sister-in-law, Mary Buehring of Sugar Land, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to Faith Lutheran Church of Beeville, La Bahia Health Care Center Activity Fund in Goliad, or to the donor’s choice.

Gonzales
Maria S. Gonzales, 49, died at her residence in Austin on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002.
Visitation was held Tuesday at Angelus Funeral Home. Rosary was recited that evening at 7 o’clock at the same location. Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Pallbearers were Miguel, Ben and Emiliano Gonzales, Keith Hradek, Victor Medina and Tomas Flores.
Miss Gonzales was born on Nov. 9, 1952, in Beeville to Arturo Gonzales Jr. and Guadalupe Silvas Gonzales. She had resided in Austin for 28 years and worked as a bilingual teacher for Austin Independent School District. During her career, she worked for the following schools: Sims Elementary (1975-78), Ortega (1978-80 and 1987-2002) and Barton Hills (1980-87). She was a member of the Catholic church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arturo Bocanegra Gonzales Jr., on Jan. 2, 2002.
Miss Gonzales is survived by her mother, Guadalupe Silvas Gonzales of Beeville; a brother, Arturo Gonzales III and wife Elizabeth of Fort Worth; three sisters, Yrma Chavarria and husband Johnny and Linda Gonzales, all of Beeville, and Lydia Gonzales of Austin; two nephews, Miguel Pablo and Benjamin Arturo Gonzales, both of Fort Worth; two nieces, Maria Louisa Chavarria and Ana Kristina Villarreal, both of Beeville; a great-nephew, David Matthew Villarreal of Beeville; and a great-niece, Michaela Nicole Chavarria of Beeville.

Salazar
Benito G. “Ben” Salazar, 69, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, in San Antonio.
Visitation was held Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel. Rosary was recited Friday at 7 p.m. at the same location. Funeral Mass will be celebrated today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Juan Manuel Salazar, Richard, Lee, Eloy, Carlos Jr. and Roland Salazar and Jessy Perez.
Mr. Salazar was born in Beeville on July 31, 1933, to Pedro Salazar Sr. and Matilde (Garcia) Salazar. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He married Elena Santillana on Dec. 5, 1949, in Beeville. He had been residing in Victoria at the time of his death, but prior to that had resided in Beeville his entire life. He was a businessman and a retired Bee County justice of the peace, serving 24 years. He was a member of the Catholic church.
Mr. Salazar was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Baldemar Salazar, who died in 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Elena S. Salazar of Victoria; a daughter, Cristina Cano and husband Carlos of Victoria; and son, Benjamin Salazar and wife JoLynn of San Antonio; a sister, Senaida Salazar Brown and husband Joe of Beeville; four brothers, Pedro Salazar and wife Carmen of Victoria, Carlos “Chale” Salazar Sr. and wife Valentina, Christobal Salazar and wife Eva, Victor G. Salazar and wife Evangelina, all of Beeville; and three grandchildren, Kristy McNeill, Jennifer Salazar and Dillon Salazar.

Coronado
Eugenio V. Coronado, 84, of Mathis died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002.
He was born on Oct. 25, 1918 in Clareville. He served in World War II with the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He had lived in Mathis for the past 50 years. Mr. Coronado was a retired San Patricio County constable. He was past president of the local Farm Workers Association and in 1963 he was responsible for bringing minimum wages to the first farm workers in the state of  Texas in San Patricio County. He was an avid fund raiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include four daughters, Norma (Ranaldo) Bera of Bastrop, Nora (Louis) Garza and Belinda (Jose) Tamez, both of Beeville, and Dina C. (Isaac) Rodriguez of Mathis; three sons, Robert (Maria) Coronado and Rafael (Rosa) Coronado, both of Houston and Eugenio (Rosa) Coronado Jr. of Mathis; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A rosary was recited Friday at 7 p.m. at Dobie Funeral Home chapel in Mathis. Funeral Mass will be celebrated today (Saturday) at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis. Interment will follow in Cenizo Hill Cemetery.
