Armijo
On June 16, 2003 Francisca Zavala Armijo was taken into the Gates of Heaven at the age of 99. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Sotoero Zavala and her mother, Faustina Barrientez. Francisca enjoyed every moment she spent with her family, enjoying her 11 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren and her 1 great -great-granddaughter. She enjoyed life and was devoted to her God.
She is survived by her children, Dora (Jimmy) Martinez and Lela (Eddie) Nolf, both of Beeville, Tx and Seferino (Rosa) Armijo Jr., also of Beeville, Tx;. her sister, Fermana (Frank) Maldonado and one foster sister, Guadalupe (Pedro) Trevino, both of Beeville, Tx.; and her caregiver; Maria De Jesus Munoz, also of Beeville, Tx.; several nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home. Mass of Ressurection will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Our Lady Of Victory Cemetery # 2. Pallbearers are Buck and Jerry Nolf, Frank, Joaquin and Javier Armijo and Manuel Maldonado.
Five white doves will be released, her spirit set free, up into the big deep sky, to Heaven, where she’ll be. God has a plan for her; He wants her by His side. The symbolic beauty of the five white doves will be a moving finale. The doves represent the spirit of the departed loved one being released to begin the final journey home.
A father who cares enough to wait and worry, who cares enough to counsel and be concerned, is among the greatest blessings God has given.

Bellis
Mr. Bruce Allen Bellis, age 70, was taken into the Arms of our loving God on June 13, 2003. Bruce was born in Skidmore, Tx. on November 4, 1932 to the late Raymond Joe Bellis, Sr. and Ellen Hall. Bruce was in the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He enjoyed horses, country music and enjoyed working in the oil field industry. Bruce was a jockey and traveled all over the world racing horses.
He is survived by one brother, Raymond Joe Bellis, Jr. of Skidmore, Tx.; three nephews, Louis Ray Bellis of California, Joe Allen Bellis of Dallas, Tx. and Michael Ray Bellis of Beeville, Tx.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2003 at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel from 1 p.m. till 5 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2003 at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore, Tx, with Rev. Norris D.  Jackson officiating. Services will begin at 10 a.m.

Garrison
Willie Juanita Garrison, 80, of Beeville formerly of Pawnee, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003 in Goliad. She was born April 24, 1923 in Pawnee,  Texas to her parents, William Garland and Mary Eulia (Elliott) McCarn. She was one of nine children. She married Louie Edwin Garrison on October 10, 1943 in Mercedes,  Texas. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five brothers, Cecil, Alva, Clay, Foy and Harry McCarn and three sisters, Julia Robinson, Virgie Phillips and Faye Allen.
Juanita is survived by two sons, Lester Garland Garrison and his wife Carrol of Weesatche, TX and Edwin Wayne Garrison and his wife Martha of Houston, TX; one brother, Roy Bernard McCarn of Cottonwood, CA; two grandsons, B.J. and Ronnie Garrison both of Houston, TX; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Joyce Garrison both of Austin, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2003 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Brother George Yarbrough officiating and Diann Puckett as organist. No visitation. Interment will follow at Pawnee Cemetery, Pawnee,  Texas. Memorials may be made to the South  Texas Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1210, Beeville,  Texas 78104-9984.

Lozano
Angels from the Heavens were sent from above on June 12, 2003 and carried the departed soul of Mrs. Trinidad “Trine” L. Lozano into the Arms of our Loving God at the age of 85.
Trinidad was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Longoria and her mother Andrea Gonzales, her son Sam Lozano and her loving husband Amadeo Lozano Sr.
Trinidad was born on Sept. 17, 1917 in Beeville, Tx. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, enjoying each special moment with them. Trinidad was a retired saleslady from Perry Brothers after 40 years of service and was a member of St. Ann’s Society.
She is survived by two sons, Amadeo Lozano Jr. of Alice, Tx. and Andres Lozano of West Covina, CA; one daughter, Sylvia A. Arismendez of Corpus Christi, Tx.; one brother; Jose Longoria Jr. and one sister, Lydia Moya, both of Beeville, Tx.; ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandson.
Rosary was held on Friday, June 13, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Resurrection was held on Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed at Beeville Memorial Park.

Martinez
On May 30, 2003 Angels from the Heavens were sent to carry the departed soul of Candelario Martinez, Sr. into the Arms of Our Loving God. Candelario was taken into the Gates of Heaven at the age of 66. He was born in Beeville, Tx. on November 19, 1936 to the late Ysidro C. Martinez and Rosa Soliz. He was preceded in death by his sisters Elvira Martinez and Sofia Martinez and one daughter, Maria elena and his granddaughter, Melissa Gonzales.
He is survived by his wife Ignacia P. Martinez; two sons, Antonio and candelario Martinez, Jr., all of Beeville, Tx.; seven daughters, Janie Martinez, delia Perez and Belinda Martinez, all of Beeville, Tx., Mary Ann and Patricia Martinez, both of Port Lavaca, Tx., Elvira Bustos of Richmond, Tx. and Nancy martinez of george West, Tx; two sisters, Paula Posada and Eloisa Salazar, both of Beeville, Tx.; 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Rosary was held on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Resurrection was held on Monday, June 2, 2003 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed at San Pedro Cemetery in Clareville, Tx.
Pallbearers were Joel Martinez, Raul Rodriguez, Jr., Jesse Bustos, David Trow Bridge, Bobby Banera and John Posada.

Garrison
Willie Juanita McCarn Garrison, 80, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, in Goliad.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel, with Brother George Yarbrough officiating. Special music will be provided by organist Diann Puckett. Burial will follow in Pawnee.
Mrs. Garrison was born on April 24, 1923, in Pawnee, to William Garland and Mary Eulia (Elliott) McCarn. She married Louie Edwin Garrison on Oct. 10, 1943, in Mercedes. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She resided in Beeville, but was a former Pawnee resident.
Her husband preceded her in death on March 18, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two sons, Lester Garland Garrison and wife Carol of Weesatche and Edwin Wayne Garrison and wife Martha of Houston; a brother, Roy Bernard McCarn of California; two grandsons, B.J. and Ronnie Garrison of Houston; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Joyce Garrison of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the South  Texas Children’s Home.

Britton
Lennie Mae Britton, 96, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003.
She was born in Perrin on Sept. 18, 1906. She was a member of Travis Baptist Church in Corpus Christi. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Fielder.
Survivors include her daughters, Evelyn Beaird, Doris Fern Robbins, Brenda Gremmel, Judy Lawson and Sherron Habas; a son, Bryan  Taylor Britton of Burnet; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and interment were held Friday at 4 p.m. at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi.
Arrangements were handled by La Paz All Faiths Funeral Home, San Antonio.

Pfeil
Marcia Pfeil, 76, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, in Galveston.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Saturday) in the Jourdanton City Cemetery, with the Rev. John Van Deusen officiating.
Mrs. Pfeil was born in Alice on March 11, 1927, to Daniel J. and Vivian D. (Carl) Scruggs. She married Thomas J. Pfeil in Alice on May 28, 1949. She was a former Beeville resident and a teacher at A.C.  Jones High School, having taught there for 25 years. She was a Methodist. At the time of her death she had been residing in Galveston.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, who died on May 8, 1999.
Survivors include her sons, Dr. Thomas J. Pfeil of Galveston and Robert C. Pfeil of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter, Ann Pfeil of Fredricksburg, Va.; a granddaughter, Gemma Marie Pfeil of Galveston; a sister, Mary Agnes Ussery of San Antonio; a niece, Elizabeth Ussery; and a nephew, Steven Ussery.

Cano
Jose R. Cano died July 3, 2003, at the age of 68. Jose was born in Beeville, Tx. on Sept. 33, 1934 to the late Pedro Cano and Tomasa Rodriguez. He retired from CBC after 20 years of service. His hobbies were music and he loved to play pool. Jose was preceded in death by his foster parents Ysidro & Eusebia Elizalde; his sons, Jose, David and Ramiro Cano; his brother, Gregorio Elizalde and his sister Tomasita Camacho. He is survived by his wife, Maria Zuniga Cano of Beeville, Tx.; four daughters, Maria Tomasita (Robert) Hernandez of Victoria, Tx.; Rosalinda (Ignacio) Aguilar, Graciella (Johnny) Loya and Maria C. (Robert) Silva all of Beeville, Tx.; two sons, Albert (Brenda) Cano and Armando (Yvette) Cano, both of Beeville, Tx.; three brothers; David & Isaac Elizalde, both of Beeville, Tx.; and Santos Elizalde of  Louisiana; five sisters, Cecila Moron of Beeville, Tx., Lupe Rocha of Mercedes, Tx., Rita Molina of Beeville, Tx., Jesusa Soliz of Corpus Christi, Tx., and Lucia Ortiz of Beeville, Tx.; 33 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Rosary was held on Friday July 4, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection was held on Saturday, July 5, 2003 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial was held at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were Johnny Loya, Pedro Galvan, Adolfo Lopez, David Elizalde, Refugio Fragoso and Delfino R. Rodriguez.

Culli
Faye Bess Easley Culli, 91, of Three Rivers died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at the Live Oak Nursing Center in George West.
Mrs. Culli was born in Hemphill on Feb. 6, 1912, to Vincent Clement and Marietta (Williams) Easley. She married George Culli on May 2, 1931, in San Antonio. She had resided in Three Rivers since 1972 and lived in Taft for several years prior to that. She was a retired bookkeeper and was a self-employed business owner in Taft. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Three Rivers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Adam Culli, in 2002.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas (Jean) Culli of Beeville and Dr. George (Dianne) Culli of Leesville, La.; four grandchildren, George Culli IV, Carolyn Stacey, Edward Culli and Matthew Culli; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held Saturday at the Galloway & Sons Chapel in Three Rivers. The funeral was held Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Three Rivers, with the Rev. Marcus Gohlke officiating. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tim Stroleny, J.R. Felkins, Buddy Orsak, Stephen Stapleton, Larry  White and Richard Dockery. The deacons of First Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made the South  Texas Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1210, Beeville, TX 78104.

Del Toro
Julie Gail Talley Del Toro, 26, died Friday, July 4, 2003, in a Beeville hospital following a sudden illness. She was employed at the Garza Unit in Beeville as a medical aide specialist.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mathew Del Toro, in 2000.
Survivors include her fiance, Jessie Gongora of Beeville; her parents, Larry and Shirley Talley; a daughter, Shawna Talley; her maternal grandmother, Doris McKinney, all of Oakville; two brothers, Clint Talley of Corpus Christi and James (Kim) Talley of Kingsville; a great-aunt, Ruby Carroll; an aunt, Kathie Crawford, both of Three Rivers; and a niece, Savana Talley and two nephews, Tristan and Ryan Talley, all of Kingsville.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the Roberson Funeral Home chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will take place Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Three Rivers, with Brother Don  Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakville Cemetery.
Services will be under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
