Gall
Ethel M.  Jones Gall, 86, died Friday, July 4, 2003.
Visitation was held Monday from 11 a.m. to noon at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
Mrs. Gall was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Aug. 30, 1916, to William Isaac and Rachael (Wharton) Jones. She married Major Elmer Charles Gall Jr. on Aug. 29, 1939, in Winchester, Va. She had resided in Beeville for three years and in Easton, Md., for 37 years prior. She was a homemaker and an Episcopalian. She volunteered for 20 years at Easton Memorial Hospital. She was also a member of the Academy of Arts and a member of the “Working Artist Guild” in Easton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (who died Oct. 15, 1994) and one sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Crystal Auzston and husband Ivan; grandson Andrew Auzston and wife Bridgette, all of Beeville; a brother, William  Jones and wife Betty; two sisters, Marcie Skundrich and Rhoda Koglin; and a brother-in-law, Carl Fagan, all of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Memorials may be sent to Exclusive Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 1300, Beeville, TX 78104.

Thompson
Alice  Jones Thompson, 83, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003.
She was born on Jan. 16, 1920, in Beeville to Gertrude (Russell) and Allen Carter  Jones III. Although she lived in Virginia for most of her life, she remained a staunch Texan. She graduated from Mary Baldwin College in 1940 and attended what is now called the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Va. She married William McIlwaine Thompson, a Presbyterian minister, in 1942. She maintained close ties with Hampden-Sydney College Church where her husband served as minister from 1949 to 1951. Dr. Thompson, subsequently the first professor of Christian ethics at Union Theological Seminary, died in 1952. With her two children, William McIlwaine Thompson Jr. and Alice “Lisa” Thompson Cross, she continued to reside in Richmond, with regular visits to  Texas, until moving to Westminster Canterbury at Virginia Beach, Va., in 1982.
Mrs. Thompson served on the boards of Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and the Richmond YWCA. She helped fund the first modern dental clinic in Kinshasa, Congo. She was especially active during the civil rights movement in the late 1950s and early 1960s. She was a den leader for the first integrated Cub Scout den in Richmond and was responsible for integrating Richmond’s United Church Women organization. She also served as president of John Marshall High School PTA, president of Ginter Park Presbyterian Church’s Women of the Church, Sunday School teacher, chairwoman of the Wednesday night supper, Girl Scout leader, a member of the Presbytery’s Home Mission Committee and Westminster Canterbury Hall representative.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Louella  Jones Borglum, and her brother, William Whitby  Jones II.
Survivors include her son, William McIlwaine Thompson Jr., and his wife, Elsie Wilson Thompson of Charlottesville, Va.; her daughter, Alice “Lisa” Thompson Cross, and her husband, Harry Lee Cross III of Suffolk, Va.; and seven grandchildren, Harry Lee Cross IV, Joseph McIlwaine Cross, Alice Ritchie Cross, William McIlwaine Thompson III, Alice Haven Thompson, Anne Claiborne Thompson and Orme Wilson Thompson; her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne  Jones Hause and H. Burt Hause of Beeville; and many nieces and nephews and their children.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Westminster Canterbury Holy Trinity Chapel with the Revs. Allen  Johnson and Richard Keevar officiating. A graveside service will be held today (Wednesday) at noon in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond, Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to the Alice  Jones Thompson Scholarship fund which supports Union Theological Seminary-Presbyterian School of Christian Education students engaged in missionary work. The address is UTS-PSCE, 3401 Brook Road, Richmond, VA 23227.

Robinson
John Michael Robinson, 47, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003.
Visitation was to be held Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Rosary was to be recited at 7 o’clock at the same location. Funeral services will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Lowry Ross and Father Joseph Olikkara officiating. Special music will include “Amazing Grace,” “Just A Closer Walk with Thee” and “On Eagle’s Wings.” Burial will follow in Live Oak County’s Gussettville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cheryl Jackson, Lisa Stewart, Debra Houlihan, Eddie Houlihan, Jeff Stelzer, Charlie Coley, Don Jackson, Deborah Houlihan and Arthur Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Houlihan, Milton Wilson, Wendall Duhon, Bobby Robinson, Ted Snelling and Egan Stelzer.
Mr. Robinson was born in Beeville on Dec. 26, 1955, to Jack and Myldred (Houlihan) Robinson. He married Wendy Duhon Robinson in September 1992 in Corpus Christi. He resided in Orange Grove and was a member of the Catholic church. He was a self-employed welder and had been contracted with Miller & Miller Structural Engineers.
Survivors include his wife, Wendy Duhon Robinson of Beeville; his parents, Jack Robinson of Beeville and Myldred Houlihan Robinson of Orange Grove; a sister, Jana Robinson of Orange Grove; two stepdaughters, Misty Hollinger of Florida and Melissa Mercer of Beeville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Brin
Ronald Barry Brin, 62, of Corpus Christi died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Born July 25, 1940, in Dallas, Mr. Brin spent his early years in Cleburne, before moving to Beeville in 1955. He graduated from high school here. He went on to receive his undergraduate degree at  Texas Christian University, where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He later attended Southern Methodist University School of Law, where he received his law degree in 1964. He began his practice of law that same year in Corpus Christi. Soon after, Mr. Brin joined the Navy Judge Advocate General Corps and later resumed his law practice in Corpus Christi.
In 1979 he joined with his brother, George, to form the law firm of Brin & Brin, P.C. in Corpus Christi. Their firm, now comprised of 34 attorneys, has offices in Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Edinburg, Brownsville, Austin and Laredo. During his legal career, Mr. Brin was the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions. He was a member of the TADC, IADC, ABOTA and DRI. He was listed (by vote of his peers) in the distinguished publication Best Lawyers in America from its initial year of publication to the present time. Additionally, he was listed in an international Who’s Who of Product Liability Defense Lawyers since 1997 and 2003  Texas Super Lawyers published by  Texas Monthly. He was the author of many legal articles and frequently spoke at seminars around the state.
Mr. Brin was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Rene Brin Jr., who was killed on Iwo Jima in 1945, and his mother, Marca Conolly, who died in 1995.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lora Lou; a son, Ronald Barry (Lara) Brin Jr. of San Antonio; a daughter, Amy (Tavo) Hellmund of Austin; his grandchildren, Kate Hellmund and Davis and Ashley Brin; his brothers, George Brin of San Antonio and the Rev. Mark Spence of Beeville; his sisters-in-law, Colleen Brin and Karen Spence; stepfathers, Joel Spence of Beeville and R.N. Conolly of Corpus Christi; numerous nieces and nephews; his “family” of lawyers in his firm and many friends.
Following a graveside service Thursday at 3 p.m. at Seaside Memorial Park, a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. at First Christian Church, 3401 Santa Fe, Corpus Christi, with the Rev. Don Tuttle officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the University of  Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-4009, attn. Linda Korb, or to the charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements were handled through Seaside Funeral Home, Corpus Christi.

Casey
A memorial service will be held July 12 at 2 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison for Hilton Casey, 68, who died at his home on June 21, 2003, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
Mr. Casey was born in Pecos on Nov. 29, 1934, to Lonnie Clinton and Lorita (Fielding) Casey. He grew up in Monahans and graduated with the Monahans High School class of 1953. He attended Odessa Junior College, then earned bachelor of science and master of education degrees from the University of North  Texas, where he was a graduate assistant in weight training for the football class that included Mean Joe Green. He did graduate work at the University of Dallas.
Mr. Casey married the former Kay Kinkler at the First United Methodist Church in Beeville in 1958.
His 26-year coaching and teaching career included four years at the Dillingham Junior High School in Sherman. He moved on to become head coach of the six-man Tom Bean Tom Cats for three years and taught elementary physical education in Denison schools for 19 years. He was a Little League coach, member and past president of the Monahans 20-30 Club, the Monahans Optimist Club and Sherman Breakfast Optimist Club.
An avid fisherman, he was a charter member of the Texoma Bass Club, serving as president and tournament chairman in the first years of the club’s giant two-state invitational tournament.
In 1953, Mr. Casey joined the  Texas National Guard where he attained the rank of sergeant first class as tank commander in the 112th Armored Cavalry at Fort Hood, then joined the U.S. Army Reserve until his discharge in 1960.
Upon his retirement he established Casey’s Crawfish Farm southeast of Denison, which he operated until he became ill. Diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease at age 61, he joined the UT Southwestern Medical Center Alzheimer’s research program and willed his body to the center. He was preceded in death by his parents of Monahans and his in-laws, Catherine and Rowland Kinkler of Beeville.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Kay Kinkler Casey of Denison; a sister, Elsie May Casey Moore and husband Ray of Meridian, Idaho; aunts and uncles, Maude and W.F. “Lefty” Wells of Monahans and Celia and Virgil Fielding of San Antonio.
Memorials may be made to the Denison Education Foundation, 1201 S. Rusk, Denison, TX 75020; or the UT Southwestern Medical Center for Alzheimer’s Research and Therapy, P.O. Box 910888, Dallas, TX 75391-0888.
Arrangements were handled through Fisher Funeral Home, Denison.

Dehnisch
Earleen Hollon Dehnisch, 90, of Mathis died Monday, June 30, 2003, at her residence.
Funeral services were to be conducted at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the First Baptist Church in Mathis. Interment will follow in Cenizo Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Dehnisch was a graduate of  Texas College of Arts and Industries. She taught in the Mathis Independent School District for 28 years, retiring May 31, 1984. She had belonged to the First Baptist Church since 1926 and was a member of the Mathis Culture Club.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Frank Raymond Dehnisch of Mathis; a daughter, Sharon Dehnisch Neeley and husband Charles of Bryan; a son, Dr. Frank R. Dehnisch Jr. and wife Anne McKinney Dehnisch of Beeville; five grandchildren, James Garland Watson III and wife Christi Voss, Charles Franklin Watson and wife Adrienne Petty, Christopher Dehnisch Watson and wife Lucinda Tapp, Frank Raymond Dehnisch III and Scott McKinney Dehnisch; three great-grandchildren, Brittany Anne, Meghan Kay and Frank Dehnisch Watson; two sisters, Ella Jean Hollon Porter and husband James Howell of Mathis and Mary Jo Hollon Tobin and husband John H. Tobin of Wylie; two sisters-in-law, Joye Dehnisch Thomas and husband Ray Harris of Sinton and Lillian Smith Dehnisch of Mathis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 66, Mathis, TX 78368.
Arrangements were handled through Dobie Funeral Home, Mathis.

Gallagher
Troy Robert Gallagher, 81, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at his residence.
Visitation was held Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at that location with Chaplain Mike Hubbard officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Paul, Mike, Sean and Mark Gallagher, Nathan Davis and Joe Guerra.
Mr. Gallagher was born on Nov. 15, 1921, in Brady to Staley and Clyde (Goins) Buchanan. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart. He married Alma Huddler on Nov. 25, 1940, in George West. He was a tool pusher in the oil field and a member of the Pipe Fitter’s Union.
Survivors include five children, Robert Gallagher and wife Melanie of El Paso, Virginia Gallagher of Atlanta, Ga., and Talton Gallagher and wife Paula, Debbie Davis and Tammy Gallagher, all of Beeville; four brothers, Tang Buchanan and wife Lucy of Frost, Lewis Ray Buchanan and wife Faye and Bobby Buchanan, all of  Oklahoma, and Mac Buchanan and wife Diane of Dallas; 10 grandchildren, Sharon Fulbright of Atlanta, Ga., Troy and Joe Gallagher and Jenny Sheppard, all of Cusseta, Ga., Paul, Mike and Mark Gallagher and Sara Davis, all of Beeville, Nathan Davis and Sean Gallagher, both of San Marcos; and nine great-grandchildren, Joe, Bethany, Austin, Tricia and Kelly Gallagher, all of Cusseta, Ga., Joshalyne, Calestyne and Morghan Gallagher, all of Beeville, and Chad Carroll of Atlanta, Ga.

Patricia Lynn Gomez Hughes, 26, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, in Valley Center, Kan.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Rosary took place that evening at 7 o’clock at the same location. Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Antonio Gomez, Lupe Gomez Jr., Jesus Antonio Gomez, Richard Gomez Jr., Travis Gomez and Cirildo Garza III. Honorary pallbearers were Roland Zepeda Jr., Richard Garza Jr. and Ernesto Garza Jr.
Mrs. Hughes was born on July 30, 1976, in Beeville to Joe and Rosalinda (Garza) Gomez. She married Brian Keith Hughes on April 22, 2000, in Beeville. She resided in Valley Center, Kan., and was a private estate executor. She was a member of the Catholic church. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Antonio Gomez.
Survivors include her husband, Brian Keith Hughes, and a daughter, Nicole Marie Hughes, both of Valley Center, Kan., her parents, Joe and Rosalinda Gomez, and two sisters, Janice and Jo Lisa Gomez, and a niece, Erika Gomez, all of Beeville; her grandparents, Cirildo and Isabel Garza of Blanconia and Alicia Gomez of Normanna; her in-laws, Fritz and Verla Hughes of Nisland, S.D.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Millegan
Edith LaVerne Millegan, 64, of Mineral Wells died Saturday, June 28, 2003, in a hospital there. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Baum-Carlock-BumGardner Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Noel Bakker officiating.
Mrs. Millegan was born on Oct. 30, 1938, in Weatherford to Horace Elmar and Lorene (Lowrey) Venable. She grew up in Weatherford and moved to many places through her life before moving to Mineral Wells in 1994. She was a member of the Faith Covenant Church in Mineral Wells.
Survivors include her sons, Brian and Kenny Millegan of Mineral Wells, Robert Millegan of Beeville and Scott Millegan of Tennessee Colony; a sister, Anita Powell of Mineral Wells; a niece, Soozy Brown of Mineral Wells; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements were handled through Baum-Carlock-BumGardner Funeral Home, Mineral Wells.
