Moreno
Alma Farias Moreno, 60, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
She was born in Beeville on Dec. 2, 1943, to Francisca Martinez and Adan Farias. She was a housewife.
Mrs. Moreno was preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto O. “Beto” Moreno, on Oct. 12, 2001; and her parents.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosemary (Adolfo) Cantu, Linda M. (Monseis) Ramirez and Anna Moreno, all of Beeville; her sons, Gilbert F. (Connie) Moreno of Beeville and Adan F. (Tami) Moreno of Oceanside,  Calif.; sisters, Aurora Garza, Jesusa Banda and Beatrice Benavidez, all of Beeville, Lydia Ochoa of Wauchula, Fla., Rosie Torres of Grand Prairie, Diana Gonzales of Houston; brothers, James Rodriguez of Beeville, Juan Rodriguez of Aransas Pass, Teodoro and Jesus Rodriguez, both of Houston, and Rudy Rodriguez of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gilbert Moreno III, Larry Garcia Jr., Gabriel Cantu, Alfredo Benavidez Jr., Salvador Cadena, Roland Cantu and Guadalupe Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearer will be Marissa Ramirez.

Ousley
Ray Ousley, 75, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Kenedy’s Otto Kaiser Hospital.
Mr. Ousley was born in Newburg, Mo., on Jan. 20, 1929, to Crawford and Ruth (Hudgins) Ousley. He married Betty Keisemore on June 13, 1975. He had been an electrical supervisor at Chase Field. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a former member of the Karnes County fire department and coached youth baseball. Mr. Ousley was a veteran of the World War II Army Air Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna Sue (Matt) Mieszkowski of Las Vegas, Nev., and Judy Kay Ousley of Austin; his stepdaughters, Debra Dial of Ore City and Dianne P. Matthews of Sanger; his son, Billy Ray (Norma) Ousley of Goliad; his stepsons, Douglas J. Hunger of San Antonio and Don (Donna) Hunger of Sherman; his sister, Reba Cardonna of St. Louis, Mo.; his brother, Roy (Marilyn) Ousley of Longview; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Family visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Eckols Funeral Home chapel in Kenedy from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services was held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 2:15 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with Robert Bridge officiating.
Pallbearers were Clifford Dial, Brandon Dabbs, Robert Atwater Jr., Brian Atwater, Brian Chavarria, Dane Jaskins and Jim Ousley.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Karnes City Fire Department.
Arrangements were handled through Eckols Funeral Home, Inc., Kenedy.

Roberts
Nelta Joice Roberts, 74, of Kenedy died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Kenedy on Aug. 13, 1930, to Annie Grace (Culpepper) and Emry Durwood Ferguson. She graduated from Pettus High School in 1949.
She married Paul Roberts, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1991. She was a florist and owned a flower shop in Hope, Ark. She was a resident of Kenedy since 1988 and was a member of First Christian Church in Pettus.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a daughter, Rynda (Arthur) Clark of Kenedy.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. in First Christian Church with the Rev. Michael Mantooth officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, Box 133, Pettus, TX 78148.

Weir
Virginia De Leon Weir, 93, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
She was born in Yorktown on March 26, 1911, to Emeterio and Adelita (Castaneda) De Leon. She married Peter Paul Weir on Jan. 14, 1955, in San Antonio. She was a retired cashier.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters, Paulita, Ruth and Lupita De Leon, Manuela De Leon Zamora and Vicenta D. Contreras, and her brothers, Hilberto, Faustino, Telesforo, Antonio and Felipe De Leon.
Survivors include her sister, Beatrice D. Villarreal of Beeville; her niece, Mrs. Richard (Rosalinda) Espinosa of Beeville; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Rosary was recited Saturday at 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. James Catholic Church, with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. The St. James Choir provided special music.
Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Joe R. De Leon, Monseis Manzano Jr., Richard Ray, Kenneth R., Reynaldo E. and Andrey R. Espinosa.

Ybañez
Lauro “Larry” Ybañez, 63, of George West died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004. Visitation was held Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Galloway and Sons chapel in George West, followed by a rosary at 7 o’clock that evening. The funeral Mass will be celebrated this afternoon (Wednesday) at 3 o’clock at St. George Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Olikkara officiating. Burial will follow in the George West Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard “Ben” Cantu, Chris Valverde, Byron Sarimento, Bryan Kenneth Carvajal, Johnny Ximenez and Jose Manuel Torres.
Mr. Ybañez was born Dec. 10, 1940, to Frutoso and Emilia (Alvarez) Ybañez in George West. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a fireman with the Corpus Christi Fire Department. He was self-employed and former owner of the Alma Latina Bar.
Mr. Ybañez was preceded in death by his father, Frutoso Ybañez.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Ybañez of Corpus Christi; a grandson, Bryan Kenneth Carvajal of Corpus Christi; his mother, Emilia (Alvarez) Ybañez of George West; a brother, Felipe Ybañez of Corpus Christi; three sisters, Minerva (Luis) Valverde and Elma (Oscar) Sarimento, all of George West, and Elia (Jim) Wilburn of San Antonio; his ex-wife, Ramona DeLeon of Corpus Christi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Weir

Gonzales
Gracie R. Gonzales, 38, died Nov. 6, 2004, in San Antonio.
Survivors include her husband, Juan Daniel Gonzales; a son, Eric Sierra; her father, Ramon Rodriguez Sr.; her sisters, Frances R. Gonzales and Jessica B. Rodriguez; and her brothers, Ramon Jr., Juan M. and Romero M. Rodriguez.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria M. Rodriguez, and her brother, Rudy Rodriguez.
Prayer service was held Nov. 8 at Delgado Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services were held Nov. 9 at the same location. Interment followed at San Jose Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Ramon Rodriguez Jr., Joe Henry Gonzales, Arturo Gonzales Jr., Aaron Zuniga, Eric Sierra, Rick Leal, Oscar Balies and Joe Richard Martinez.
Arrangements were handled through Delgado Funeral Home, San Antonio.

Huerta
Maria A. Huerta, 78, of Mathis died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004.
Visitation was held Monday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home in Mathis with a rosary at 7 o’clock that evening. Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis. Interment followed in Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis.
Mrs. Huerta was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Huerta.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Mendoza of Taft and Ruby Cantu of Denver,  Colo.; a son, Johnny Landin of Beeville; two sisters, Delia Cantu and Sobida Moreno, both of Refugio; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled through Treviño Funeral Home, Mathis.

O’Daniel
Robert Emerson O’Daniel III, 52, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004.
A private family memorial service was held on Tuesday. Mr. O’Daniel was cremated.
Mr. O’Daniel was born in Corpus Christi on Oct. 28, 1952, to Robert Emerson O’Daniel Jr. and Bettye Sailors O’Daniel. He resided in Beeville and was a construction worker. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father and his wife, Twyla O’Daniel.
Survivors include his sons, Cory Matthew and Jamie Ryan O’Daniel, both of Beeville, Robert Emerson O’Daniel IV and Mikael O’Daniel; a daughter, Brittainy O’Daniel of Corpus Christi; an aunt, Marian Gilman of Logan, W.Va., and special friends, Vickie Robinson and Michael Scheelar, both of George West.

Sandoval
Emilio Sandoval Sr., 63, of Mathis died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004.
Visitation was held Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home, Mathis. A church service was held Sunday at 10 a.m. at Calvary Mennonite in Mathis. Services were under the direction of Bobby Treviño.
Mr. Sandoval was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Guadalupe C. Sandoval; two brothers, Simon and Eulalio Sandoval; two sisters, Olivia DeLeon and Susana Hernandez; and a son, Emilio Sandoval Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Sandoval; two daughters, Nina Agundis and Becky Quesada; three sons, Harry, Rene and Estevan Sandoval, all of Muleshoe; a brother, Enrique Olivarez of Corpus Christi; and five sisters, Ernestina Pinon of Robstown, Enedina Murrillo of El Campo, Dominga Lopez, Maria Garcia and Lucy Sandoval, all of Mathis.
Arrangements were handled through Treviño Funeral Home, Mathis.
