Cuellar
Caleigh Marie Ramirez Cuellar, infant daughter of Guadalupe Cuellar and Jennifer Ramirez of Beeville, died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Graveside services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Survivors include her parents, Guadalupe Cuellar and Jennifer Ramirez; a sister, Amber Nicole Waddell; a brother, Stephen Mitchell Waddell; maternal grandparents, Willie and Alicia Garcia; maternal great-grandmother, Angelita Ramirez; and paternal grandparents, Ruben and Rosa Cuellar, all of Beeville.

Valdez
Dominga L. Valdez, 92, died Friday, July 8, 2005, in El Cajon,  Calif.
She was born in Oakville in September 1912 to Arnulfo and Maxima V. Leal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vilcen Garcia Valdez, and her grandson, David Valdez Jr.
Mrs. Valdez and her husband owned and operated a successful family grocery store in Beeville for many years. After Mr. Valdez passed away in 1957, Mrs. Valdez operated the store for many years after. Mrs. Valdez moved to El Cajon,  Calif., in 1995 and remained there until her death.
She is survived by two daughters, Ramona (Jim) Towner of El Cajon,  Calif., and Maria Corell of New Albany, Ind.; one son David (Virginia) Valdez of El Cajon,  Calif.; eight grandchildren, Teresa I. Parvini of San Diego,  Calif., Elizabeth Patchett of Sparks, Nev., James Towner and Rene Valdez of El Cajon,  Calif., and JoAnn Villegas and Mary Ann Peña of Victoria; 24 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Antonia Arias of Houston and Celia Armendarez of Beeville; and two brothers, Jimmy Leal and Benito Leal.
Visitation will be held Friday at Treviño Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. with Father Luke officiating. Burial will follow in Clareville’s San Pedro Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Towner, Rene Valdez, John David Valdez, Nadar Parvini, Joe Peña and Johnny Ray Valdez.

Wright
Stanley J. Wright, 85, loving husband and father was called home by the Lord on July 10, 2005 in Pasadena,  Texas.
Stanley was born in Gonzales,  Texas on September 16, 1919 to Vernon and Mary Ivy (Martin) Wright. He married Zenia Frances BumGardner on September 8, 1942 in San Antonio,  Texas. Stanley was a member of the First Baptist Church, Beeville,  Texas and an Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a life time member of the P.G.A., and served as a Golf Pro for over forty years at Ebony Hills Country Club in Edinburg,  Texas, Laredo Country Club in Laredo,  Texas, Riverside Country Club in Robstown,  Texas, Sinton Municipal Golf Course in Sinton,  Texas and Beeville Country Club in Beeville,  Texas where he retired. He was a past member of the Rotary Club, and was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Zenia Wright of Pasadena,  Texas, one son: Larry Dean Wright and wife Carol of Lakeside, Arizona, three daughters: Roxanne Selcer and husband Donald of Houston,  Texas, Sharon Greenwood and husband Dennis of Mathis,  Texas, and Michelle Wright of Pasadena,  Texas, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Vernon and Mary Ivy Wright of Gonzales,  Texas, and a great grandson, Brett Huser Skidmore,  Texas.
Visitation will be 6 pm-8 pm Friday, July 15, 2005 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Mac Robinson officiating. Entombment to follow at Beeville Memorial Park. Music by Doug Burton will include "Closer Walk With Thee," "Amazing Grace," "In the Garden," and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye.
Pallbearers will be Jay Rogers, Robert Somich, Robert Adams, Ryan Shimek, Austin Hajevandi, and Sidney Robinson.

Blankenship
Maurice Goebel Blankenship, 81, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, in Celina.
Visitation was held Sunday from 11 a.m. to noon at Galloway & Sons chapel. The funeral service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the graveside at Glenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Irving officiating. Burial followed the service.
Mr. Blankenship was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Beeville to Ella (Goebel) and Grady Blankenship. He married Ruth Light in Three Rivers on Feb. 15, 1944. They were married for 61 years.
He was a retired builder and owned M.G. Blankenship Home Construction. He had resided in McKinney, Austin and Beeville and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Light) Blankenship of Celina; two sons, Robert Blankenship of McKinney and Kenneth Blankenship of San Diego,  Calif.; one daughter, Joyce McMillian and husband Donnie of McKinney; six grandchildren, Gina Harris and husband Charles of San Diego,  Calif., Julie Hardy of Austin, Nathaniel and Matthew Blankenship of San Diego,  Calif., Shannon Keenan and husband Tony and Desree McMillian, all of McKinney; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Moreno
Erlinda Banda Moreno, 73, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at 12:11 p.m. at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
She was born in George West on June 18, 1932, to Adela Lara and Luis Banda. She was a housewife.
Mrs. Moreno was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughters, Adela (Ramon) Hurtado, Mary Moreno, Dora Kay Moreno and Dora (Juan) Moreno, all of Beeville; sons, Alfredo (Beatrice) Benavidez Sr., Matilde (Alma) Moreno Jr., Manuel Moreno, Benito (Martha) Moreno, all of Beeville, Israel Benavidez, Luis (Jeannie) Moreno Sr., Reynaldo (Lucy) Moreno and Antonio (Victoria) Moreno, all of Victoria; sisters, Viviana Soliz of Floresville, Lydia Longoria and Elida Cuevas, both of Beeville, and Modesta Martinez of Tynan; brothers, Lorenzo (Jesusa) Banda of Beeville and Calistro Banda of Corpus Christi; 38 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Trevino Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Moreno, Epimenio Moreno, Christina B. Hernandez, Alfredo Benavidez Jr., Leeann Balderas and Lionel Lane Moreno.

Novak
Joseph Steven Novak, 37, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005.
Mr. Novak was born Oct. 4, 1968, in Oak Harbor, Wash., to Steven Ronald and Gwen (Getsinger) Novak.
He is survived by his wife, Felicity Roberts of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine; his parents, Steven R. and Gwen Novak of Beeville; and a brother, Todd W. Novak and wife Yue of Houston.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Lary Funeral Home of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rodriguez
Dionicio (Don) M. Rodriguez Jr., 55, of Pawnee died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005.
He was born April 17, 1950, in Pawnee to Ramona Martinez and Dionicio Rodriguez Sr. He married Rosalinda Treviño on July 18, 1970, in Edinburg. He was a bus driver for the Pettus ISD and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pawnee.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalinda Treviño Rodriguez of Pawnee; his mother, Ramona Martinez Rodriguez of Pawnee; three daughters, Esperanza (Jaime) Guzman of Three Rivers and Adriana and Elodia Rodriguez of Pawnee; two sons, Juan Javier (June) Rodriguez and Hector (Melissa) Rodriguez of Three Rivers; three sisters, Gloria Gonzales, San Juanita DeLeon and Guadalupe DeLeon of Pawnee; and six grandchildren, Katerina Rodriguez, Juan Javier Rodriguez Jr., Julius Guzman, Baleigh Ray Rodriguez, Trina Guzman and Levi Fulcher, all of Three Rivers.
Rosary was recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with the Rev. Joseph Olikkara officiating. Burial followed in De Nuestra Senora De Guadalupe Cemetery near Pawnee.
Pallbearers were Robert Gonzales Jr., Rodolfo Gonzales, Ramon DeLeon, Chuck DeLeon, Eloy DeLeon and John DeLeon.

Carabajal
Elvira V. Carabajal, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, at 9:14 a.m. in the Beeville hospital.
She was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Bee County to Guadalupe Morales and Alvino Vasquez. She was a housewife. She was married Sept. 21, 1947, to Pedro Carabajal. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 2002. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Carabajal is survived by a daughter, Margarita Barrera of Lubbock; three sons, Jorge V. Garza of Austin, Leo Carabajal Sr. of Beeville and Rick Carabajal of Wolfforth; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Daniel and Dean Garza, Alfredo and Ruben Barrera, Sabas Longoria Jr. and Stephen Jacinto.

Alaniz
Josefa Rosa Alaniz, 88, died at 8:20 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at her Beeville residence.
She was born Aug. 29, 1917, in Starr County to Maria Saenz and Gabino Rosa. She married Nicolas Alaniz Sr. of Beeville on Jan. 13, 1934, in Starr County. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by one son, Vidal Alaniz; one brother, Gabino Rosa; and one sister, Melida Martinez.
She is survived by her husband, Nicolas Alaniz Sr. of Beeville; five daughters, Arcelia (Alejandro) Suarez, Arcadia Garcia and Rosie (Carl) Pickett, all of Beeville, Angelita Loza of Watsonville,  Calif., and Maria (Martin) Ramirez of Baytown; a son, Nick Alaniz Jr. of Bishop; two sisters, Juanita Garza of Stanton and America Alaniz of Starr County; four brothers, Genaro Rosa of Stanton, Gilberto Rosa of Odem and Gume and Candido Rosa, both of Starr County; 34 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren; and 45 great-great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville.
Pallbearers will be Jason Alaniz, Joshua Tovar, Rodrigo Suarez, Ricky Garcia, Vidal Alaniz Jr. and Richard Silva III. Honorary pallbearer will be Deacon Manuel Carranco.

Orchard
John Malcolm Orchard, 93, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005. A memorial service was held Monday at 2 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral chapel in Beeville with Kinkler Handly serving as minister.
Mr. Orchard was born Sept. 4, 1912, in Gonzales to Ida Hedges and John F. Orchard. He resided in Beeville, was a member of the Methodist church and was a retired civil service worker with the federal government.
He is survived by a son, Dr. John Orchard, and a daughter, Jane Compton, both of Beeville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Orchard of Longview; and one sister, Ruth Key of McAllen.

Routh
LAFAYETTE, La. — Funeral services for Robert Marion "Bob" Routh, 59, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, at a Christian Mass at St. Edmond Catholic Church with a memorial service celebrated by Father Jerry Mesley.
Mr. Routh died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at Southwest Hamilton Medical Center after a brief illness. Interment of his ashes will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott, La.
Born in Greenville, he was the youngest of three children of Margie Hodge and William Marion Routh. His mother lived in Beeville for 50 years and he grew up here in his childhood years. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Wagner Routh; one son, Matthew Scott Routh and wife, Kay Archer Routh of Cypress; one daughter, Kate Nicole Routh of Lafayette; two sisters, Lawana Routh Carlin and husband Charles "Bubba" Carlin of Lafayette; and Sue Routh O'Shields and husband Grady O' Shields of Portland.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, Samantha, Noah, Alexis and Mia Routh. He was preceded in death by his parents with his mother passing away only one month ago. He was also preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He was a resident of Lafayette for the past 26 years, having been an employee of Gayle Oil Company in Gueydan, as comptroller for 11 years. Previously, he was with Francis Drilling Fluid, Major Mud and Delhomme Industries in the capacity of comptroller.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim Altman, Larry Hinson, Richard Baudoin, Ken Matthews, Bubba Carlin and Mike Archer.
Visitation was observed from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Edmond's Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited beginning at 9:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to either the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
Personal condolences may be sent to the Routh family at www.delhommefuneralhome.com.
Delhomme Funeral Home in Lafayette was in charge of arrangements.
