Fojtik
Dovey Uzzell Fojtik, 77, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005.
Visitation was held on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and rosary was recited at 7 p.m. at the Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. The funeral was held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial followed at the Beeville Memorial Park. Special music included “Amazing Grace,” “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Pallbearers were Jeff Bates, Will Bates, John Kircher, Butch Hales, Mark Barrett, Keith Uzzell, Felix Fojtik and Bill Cohee.
Mrs. Fojtik was born on Sept. 21, 1928, in the Clareville community to the late Josephine Cornelia McMahon and Luther Leonard Uzzell. She married Rudolph “Rudy” Fojtik on Oct. 21, 1950, in Beeville.
Mrs. Fojtik resided in Beeville and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was also a retired civil service bookeeper.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 1, 2005, and her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn Fojtik of Houston; four sons, Michael Fojtik and wife Elizabeth, Timothy Fojtik, Joseph Fojtik, all of Beeville, and Patrick Fojtik and wife Annette of Houston; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Uzzell and Lillian Baylor of Beeville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Garcia
Isabel G. Garcia, 89, died on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-9 p.m. at the Galloway & Sons chapel in Beeville. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at the same location and day. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers will be Marcos Sanchez, Mario Sanchez, Jesse Sanchez, Jacob Sanchez, Christopher Garcia and Fernando Sanchez.
Mrs. Garcia was born on Oct. 27, 1916, in Beeville to the late Elvira Katy Gonzales and Guadalupe Gonzales. She resided in San Antonio as a homemaker and member of the Catholic church. Her favorite pastimes included playing bingo, doing jigsaw puzzles and word searches which she called her “homework.”
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Sanchez and husband Jesus of San Antonio; one son, Chris Garcia of San Antonio; four brothers, Lupe, Emilio, Trino and Adolfo Gonzales, all of Beeville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special friends and providers including Nela Serna and Rosa A. Linares.

Gonzales
Tomas Y. Gonzales, 73, of Skidmore died on Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, in a local hospital. He was born in Beeville on Dec. 14, 1932, to the late Virginia Yzaguirre and Lauro Gonzales Sr..
Mr. Gonzales was a retired custodian (21 years) from Coastal Bend College in Beeville.
Survivors include his wife, Eugenia Posada Gonzales; four daughters, Dora Alicia (Bobby) Rendon of Port Lavaca, Maria Dolores (Jose Luis) Flores of Mt. Pleasant, Dalia (Mauricio) Rincon of Beeville and Erica (Celestino) Castaneda of Austin; two sons, Andres (Estella) Saenz of Mt. Pleasant and Leandro (Teresa) Carabajal) of Tivoli; two sisters, Otilia Hesson of Nashville, Tenn., and Matilde Hicks of Skidmore; three brothers, Manuel Gonzales of El Campo, Lauro (Lupe) and Domingo Gonzales, both of Skidmore; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rufino Menchaca Jr., Felix Menchaca, Lauro Gonzales III, Gonzalo Posado II, Gonzalo Posada III and Richard Posada. Honorary pallbearers were Jose Posada and Rey Menchaca
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Trevino Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Skidmore with Father Sebastian Vettath officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.

Long
Nella Fae Long, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, in The Woodlands.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 6-8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville. Graveside service will be held in Normanna at the San Domingo Cemetery on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Doug Burton officiating.
She was born in Pettus on Jan. 3, 1914, to Richard James and Bessie Mae Roberts Bradford. She married Richard Bernie “Joe” Long, Jr. on Nov. 6, 1937, in Tuleta.
Mrs. Long was a former member of the Methodist church in Refugio and Portland. She attended Westmoreland College and was active in many organizations. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Portland,  Texas Chapter, Coastal Bend Genealogical Society, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters in the Republic of  Texas. She loved china painting, bridge and genealogy. Mrs. Long is the author of a book titled “Richard and Elizabeth Long and Allied Families.”
Survivors include a son, Richard Bernie Long III and wife Katherine of Spring; grandchildren, Laura Michelle Long of Granbury and James Richard Long of Kenedy; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and other family members.

Perez
Mrs. Rosa Estrada Perez, 77, died on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006.
Visitation was held on Tuesday from 3-9 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home with the Rev. Jesse DeLaGarza officiating. The funeral service was held today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at the Angelus Funeral Home. Burial was to follow at the DelBosque Cemetery in Normanna.
Mrs. Perez was born on July 24, 1928, in Mineral to the late Rita Saldivar Estrada and Teodoro Estrada. She married Eliseo DelBosque Perez in Beeville and resided in Normanna as a homemaker and member of the Baptist church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Rafael Perez.
She is survived by a son, Eliseo Estrada Perez, Jr. of Normanna; four daughters, Rebeca P. Perez of Normanna, Mary Lou Grant of Refugio, Elena Perez (Albert Sauceda) Turner of Beeville, Rosa Marie (Dennis) Torres of Cuero; two brothers, Benito Estrada and George Estrada, both of Brownfield; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Sinor
Ethel Foster Sinor, 91, died on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at the Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville. A funeral service was held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at the Word of Life Church in Beeville with Pastor Doyle Barnett officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery. Special music included “In the Garden.”
Active pallbearers were Temple, Tyler, Travis Lee, Landry Maguglin, J.W. Sinor and Marshal Sinor, grandsons of Mrs. Sinor. Honorary pallbearers were Raine Hobbs, Lloyd Wientjes and Danny Junek.
Mrs. Sinor was born on March 20, 1924, in Harwood to the late Callie Fortner and Wesley Bryant Foster.
On April 20, 1935, she married James N. Sinor in Rosenberg. Mrs. Sinor resided in George West as a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Cindy Maguglin, a great-granddaughter, Kaylee Hobbs, four sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Len  Jones and husband Bob of Seguin, Valree Webb and husband Jack of San Antonio, Carolyn Lee and husband Bob of Elgin, and Jimmie Nell Work and husband Don of Jacksonville; sons, Wes. A. Sinor and wife Claudine of Three Rivers, John W. Sinor and wife Janet of George West; son-in-law, Ricky Maguglin of George West; granddaughters, Natalie Hobbs and husband Raine of Edinburg, Sheila Wientjes and husband Lloyd of George West, Tamara Work of College Station, Lacy Junek and husband Danny of College Station, and Stacey Sinor of Corpus Christi; grandsons, Temple Lee, Tyler Lee and wife Jennifer and Travis Lee, all of Austin, Landry Maguglin and wife Sobrina, J.W. Sinor and Marshall Sinor, all of George West; great-grandchildren, Hunter Hobbs of Edinburg, Landyn and Syndilyn Maguglin, Caitlyn Wientjes, all of George West; and a brother, L.G. Foster and wife Ruby of Ozark, Ark.

McCumber
Benjamin Franklin McCumber, 69, died on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, in Corpus Christi.
Visitation was held Thursday from 5-7 p.m. with rosary recited at 6 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, Three Rivers. Funeral Mass was to be held Friday at 3 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church in George West. Burial was to follow at Gussettville Cemetery.
Mr. McCumber was born on July 23, 1936, in Sinton to Benjamin and Hilda (McNeill) McCumber. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and enjoyed an over 50-year career in the petroleum industry with the last 30 years spent as an independent drilling consultant.
Mr. McCumber was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Stafford “Blackie” McCumber; and a sister, Margaret Trbula.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Jane Kelley Williamson McCumber of Beeville; sister, Doris McKinney of Oakville; brother, Marvin McCumber of Tomball; daughters, Dolly McCumber of Carthage and Louise (Brent) McCumber Penn of Katy; son, Bruce (Karen) McCumber of Gary; stepdaughters, Dr. Sue Zanne Williamson (Richard) Urbis of Brownsville, Madge Williamson (Doug) Vackar of Lake Jackson, Mary Williamson (Tommy)  Johnson of El Campo, Clarissa Williamson-Williford (Brandon Williford) of Victoria; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Kathleen Ann Janysek Pawelek, 49, died on Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at 12:38 a.m. in the Southeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio.
Visitation was to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Poth. Rosary was to be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Poth. Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Poth. Interment will be held at the Blessed Sacrament Cemetery of Poth.
Mrs. Pawelek was born on Jan. 10, 1956, to Leo “Popo” Janysek and the late Bernice Szalwinski Janysek.
Survivors include her husband, Marcus Pawelek; daughters, RayAnn Pawelek and Katie Pawelek; father, Leo “Popo” Janysek; sisters, Janice Heubaum, Carolyn Fox, Arlene Booth and Frances Berthold; brothers, Gerald Janysek, Leo Janysek Jr. and Mark Janysek; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Pawelek; and brother-in-law, Alvin Pawelek.

Alaniz
Linda Alaniz, 49, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005.
She was born in Tilden on Jan. 20, 1956, to Mary Garcia and Martin Alaniz. She was a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Garcia of Beeville; brothers, Lionel Alaniz, Luis Alaniz, Lauro Garcia and Larry Garcia, all of Beeville; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, other family members and friends.
Visitation was to be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at that chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Songs will be by the St. James Catholic Church Choir. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lionel Alaniz Jr., Eric Flores, Daniel Ray Flores, Daniel Flores, Frank Rivera and Manuel Flores.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Flores and Larry Garcia Jr.
