Mrs. Winsauer
Ida Krueger Winsauer, 97, died on Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at the Mathis Nursing Home after a short illness.
She was born on Dec. 24, 1908, in Seguin. Mrs. Winsauer, her husband, Albert, and their three sons moved to the Mathis area in 1934 and they farmed there for the next 50 years. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996 and a grandson, Jerry.
She is survived by three sons, Delroy Winsauer (Elizabeth) of Tynan, Alton Winsauer (Joan) of Odem and Harold Winsauer (Paula) of Mathis; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Nola Naumann of Seguin; and one sister-in-law, Lorine Krueger of New Braunfels.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today (Saturday) at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sid Spiller officiating. Burial followed at Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis.
Pallbearers were grandsons Glenn, Michael, Jerry Wayne, Hal, Ty and Keith.

Mrs. Blankenship
Ruth Light Blankenship, 79, of McKinney, died on Friday, April 14, 2006, in Celina.
She was born in Oakville to Amanda Elizabeth Parker and Michael Light on June 5, 1926. She married Maurice Goebel Blankenship in Three Rivers on Feb. 15, 1944. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church and was formerly a resident of Beeville and Austin.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 18, 2005, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Blankenship of McKinney and Kenneth Blankenship of San Diego,  Calif.; one daughter, Joyce McMillian and husband Donnie of McKinney; one sister, Mozelle Dunn of Beeville; six grandchildren, Gina Harris and husband Charles of San Diego,  Calif., Julie Hardy of Austin, Nathaniel Blankenship and Matthew Blankenship, both of San Diego,  Calif., Shannon Keenan and husband Tony and Desree McMillian, all of McKinney; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Galloway & Sons chapel in Beeville. Graveside services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville with Rev. Bruce Irving officiating.

Mr. Burch
Bryant Ember Burch Sr., 51, of Beeville, died on Thursday, April 13, 2006.
He was born on April 29, 1954, to Alice and Elmer Ember Burch in Orange. Mr. Burch, formerly of Aransas Pass, was an oil and gas roughneck and enjoyed fishing as a hobby.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mollie Cox of Beeville; five sons, Kenneth Wayne Kirkham of Temple, Bryant Ember Burch Jr. and wife Amy of Sinton, Jason Dalton Burch and wife Jessica, also of Sinton, Morgan Dean Burch of Korea and Richard Anthony Burch of Illinois; two daughters, Amanda Lois Burch of Sinton and Ashley Lynn Burch of San Antonio; two sisters, Billie Sue Harris and husband Norman and Kathleen Darst and husband Clinton, all of Aransas Pass; two brothers, Elmer Burch and wife Donna of Freeport and Kenneth Burch of Aransas Pass; and six grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville. No funeral services were held.

Ms. Witt
Louise Madeleine Witt, 99, of George West, died Thursday, April 13, 2006.
She was born in Pierce City, Mo., to Stephanie Agnes Hoffstetter and Herman John Witt on March 25, 1907. She was the owner of The Write Shop, was an artist and enjoyed restorative art. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church in George West.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ted and Albert Witt, and her sister, Clara Witt Allen.
Survivors include two nephews, Thomas Allen of George West and Clarence Allen of Corpus Christi; one niece, Mary Jean Gabbert of Mission; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., at Galloway & Sons chapel in George West. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St. George Catholic Church in George West, with Father Joseph Olikkara officiating. Special music was “Ave Maria,” “Panis Angelicus” and “Oh Lord, I Am Not Worthy.” Burial services followed at St. George Cemetery in George West.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. George Cemetery or St. George Catholic Church.

Mr. Albrecht
William Desmond “Billy” Albrecht, 82, of Goliad died Thursday, April 13, 2006, in San Antonio.
He was born Feb. 10, 1924, on the family ranch in Goliad County near Weser to Mathilda “Bear” and William F. “Bill” Albrecht. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater in New Guinea and the Philippines from 1943-46, and attaining the rank of first sergeant at age 21.
After the war, he graduated from  Texas A&I University, receiving a bachelor of science degree in agriculture. It was there that he met and married his wife of 56 1/2 years, Joyce.
He was a lifelong cattle rancher, an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and served on the church council.
Mr. Albrecht was very active in the community. He served on the school board where he held several terms as president. He also served on the board of directors for the First National Bank of Goliad and was named president of the bank and elected its chairman of the board of directors. He was also on the board of the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum in Cuero.
Mr. Albrecht was a two-term mayor of Goliad. He also helped to form the Little League baseball team in Goliad where he was a coach for the “Red Sox.” He loved to fish, hunt, entertain and was concerned with game management and conservation on the family ranches.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandsons Trey Bean and Mark Albrecht.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie Joyce Sedwick Albrecht of Goliad; son, William E. “Bill” Albrecht and wife Franke of Sugar Land; daughter, Jean Ann Beasley and husband John of Beeville; and twin grandsons, William Clay Albrecht and Byron Luke Albrecht and wife Heather of Houston.
Visitation will be Sunday at Colonial Funeral Home in Goliad from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Goliad with Pastors Paul Zwarich and Clarence Hagens officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ander.
Pallbearers will be Elroy Borth, Terry LaCroix, Steven Paulsgrove, H.A. “Harry” Reid Jr., Robert Sellers, Bernie Stumfoll and Dub Wilkinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Heller, Clarence Kelly, Dr. Tom Martin, Thomas Marion O’Connor, O.A. “Bum” Phillips, Edward Roeder, Don Stiles, Frank Sugarek, Emilio Vargas, Harry Whittington and many close friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 208 N. Market St., Goliad, TX 77963; or the Bean-Dirks Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 98, Beeville, TX 78104

Mrs. Black
Marcia Hinds Black, 86, of Conroe died on Monday, April 10, 2006.
She was born on March 9, 1920, in Chandler. She graduated from Tyler High School in 1937 and ran a country store in Tuleta for 40 years with her husband, before retiring in 1991.
Mrs. Black is survived by her husband, Marvin Leonard Black; one daughter, Paula Shepherd and husband Bob of Conroe; one son, Marvin Leonard Black Jr. and wife Nell of San Antonio; two brothers, Bill Hinds and wife Juanita of Flint and Calvin Hinds of Huntsville; sister Ruth James and husband Charlie of Honolulu, Hawaii; and grandchildren, Stacey French and husband Jason of Spring, Laura Kirkham and husband Matt of The Woodlands, Elizabeth Rosenauer of Fort Worth and Brooke Rosenauer of San Antonio.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Riverside, with Rev. Warren Austin officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Huntsville.

Mr. Garcia
Juan Sanchez Garcia, 64, of Skidmore, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006.
He was born Aug. 21, 1941, to Francisco Garcia and Marina Sanchez Garcia in Alamogordo, N.M. On June 21, 1986, Mr. Garcia married Antonia Jimenez (Garcia) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory. He owned a welding shop on the south side of Skidmore. Mr. Garcia had been ill for some time and was under the care of Mr. Bruno Torres and Mr. and Mrs. Candelario Gonzalez.
A memorial Mass was held at Immaculate Conception Church on Monday, Feb. 27, and was attended by Reeys Falcon, Mr. and Mrs. Candelario Gonzalez, and other members of the church.
As Mr. Garcia was deemed “indigent” at the time of his death, with no known family in the area, he was buried in Potters Field in Glenwood Cemetery, Beeville. Any information about Mr. Garcia’s extended family should be directed to Officer Stephen Martin 362-3221 at the Bee County Sheriff’s Department.

Mr. Grant
Dale Clifton Grant, 71, of Saint Hedwig, died on Saturday, April 8, 2006.
Mr. Grant was born on Oct. 7, 1934, to Lucy Dell (Garner) and Norman Grant in Kenedy. He was a retired cameraman for Channel 4 in San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Grant, his mother, Lucy Dell (Garner) Grant, and one brother, Gale Grant.
He is survived by one son, Cliff Grant of Austin, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Houston officiating. Interment took place at Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy. Pallbearers were Cliff Grant, Jerry Grant, Lyndon Watson, Timothy Garner, David  Whitenton and Roy Kotzur.

Mr. Kidd
William “Bill” Kidd, 79, of Normanna, died Saturday, April 8, 2006.
Mr. Kidd was born on Oct. 1, 1926, to Hulda Freda Kellner and Grover Kidd in Live Oak County. He was married to Geneva Joyce Walker Kidd on June 5, 1949, at Choate Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a gas tester for ARCO Oil & Gas company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and carpentry and was a member of Normanna Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepmother, two grandchildren, six sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Kidd of Normanna; two sons, Tommy Dwain Kidd and wife Sharon of Gonzales and William Dale Kidd and wife Janice of LaVernia; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Carpenter of New Braunfels, Freda Yeomen of Sandia and Mary Gomillion of Dale; two brothers, Charlie Kidd of Pleasanton and Thomas Kidd of Kenedy; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Brian Simon officiating. Special music included “Beyond the Sunset,” “Lily of the Valley,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Precious Memories” played by organist Brenda Pittman and sung by Brenda Pittman and Jerry Sain Jr. Interment followed at San Domingo Cemetery in Normanna.
Pallbearers were Robert Walker, John Goza Jr., Tim Goza, Chad Bagwell, Jeremy Stevens and Cameron Mac Melugiin. Honorary pallbearers were James A. Kidd, Peter Kidd, Donald Kidd and ARCO Oil & Gas retirees.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Normanna Baptist Church building fund.
