Mrs. Currin
Mrs. Virginia Lee “Ginger” Reeves Currin, 56, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 17, 2006. She was born in Charleston, SC on August 11, 1949. She lived most of her childhood in Zapata and Beeville,  Texas. She moved to Metter from Yulee, FL seven years ago. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church where she loved being very involved. She loved to work in her yards and spending time with people, especially her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Irvin and Avanetta Reeves of Beeville, TX. Survivors include husband Gene Currin, of Metter; sons and daughters-in-law, David Currin, of Callahan, FL, Johnny and Debbie Currin, and George and Sherry Currin, all of Yulee, FL; daughters and son-in-law, Ginny Currin, of Gainesville, FL and Susan and Shawn Mortimer, of Yulee, FL; brother, Duane (Linda) Reeves, of Tyler, TX; sisters, Janet (Tavvy) Villarreal of Zapata, TX, Marsha (Randy) Stember of New Caney, TX, and Robin (Ted) Moore, of Beeville, TX (tedm62@msn.com); eight grandchildren; two aunts, Juanita Farley of Odem, TX adn Gladys Chevalier of  Washington state; and one uncle, Johnny (Peggy) Reeves of Charleston, SC.
Visitation was from 6-9 p.m., Friday evening also at New Life Baptist Church in Metter, GA. Funeral Services were held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2006 at New Life Baptist Church with burial in the Lake Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanus
Eva Ruth (Harnden) Hanus, 76, of Skidmore, died on Thursday, June 1, 2006.
She was born on March 24, 1930, in Yoakum to Leslie Young and Harry Harnden. On June 6, 1948, she married Allen E. Hanus in Beeville. She was a member of the Skidmore United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed sewing, crochet, embroidery, needlepoint, cross-stitching and quilting. She served as a judge for the arts and crafts division at the Bee County Junior Livestock and Homemakers Show for many years.
Mrs. Hanus was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sybil Enn.
She is survived by her husband, Allen Hanus of Skidmore; one son, Roy Gene Hanus and wife Debra of Beeville; one daughter, Alene Hensley and husband F. Carl of San Antonio; and three sisters, Dorothy Andrews and Ann Vetterick of Houston and Inda Maude Harmon of Santa Barbara,  Calif.
Visitation was to be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home. Special music is to be “How Great Thou Art” and “When I Get Where I’m Going.” Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Pallbearers are Allen Bohac, Dennis Bohac, Ricky Bohac, Ty Sparks, Carl Hensley and Chris Lamprecht.

Mrs. Barrera
Eloisa G. Barrera, 66, of Beeville, died on Friday, May 26, 2006, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
She was born on July 19, 1939, in Beeville to Refugia Cano and Medardo Guerrero.
She married Ramon P. Barrera on Aug. 20, 1955, in Beeville and was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 8, 2001; her parents; one sister, Manuela Bosquez; and two brothers, Rodolfo and Carlos Guerrero.
Mrs. Barrera is survived by four daughters, Esmeralda “Myra” (Ruben) Alvear, Oralia “Lolly” (Freddy) Arteaga and Marisella “MiLinda” Barrera, all of Beeville, and Maria Del Rosario Barrera of Victoria; four sons, Ramon (Linda) Barrera Jr., Vicente (Blanca) Barrera, Jerry (Monica) Barrera and Henry Barrera, all of Beeville; two sisters, Alicia Torres of San Juan and Elena Hernandez of California; five brothers, Arturo, Roberto and George Guerrero, all of Houston, and Eliazar and Eduardo Guerrero, both of Beeville; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Church with Father Luke officiating. Interment followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were Vicente Barrera Jr., Ramon J. Barrera, Juan Ramon Arteaga, Richard A. Arredondo, Sammy Barrera and Marcus Arredondo. Honorary pallbearers were Jorge A. Barrera, Jerry Barrera and Jesus Barrera.

Ms. Franco
Elsa Franco, 79, of Corpus Christi, died on Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi.
Ms. Franco was born on Nov. 17, 1926, in Devine to Cesaria Guajardo and Preciliano Franco. She was a former resident of Tynan and was retired from Jimson Department Store in Mathis where she had worked as a clerk. Ms. Franco was president of Resident Council at Harborview Nursing Home in Corpus Christi.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Skidmore with Rev. Kelley officiating. Burial followed at Waldheim Cemetery in Tynan.

Mr. Herro
William “Jody” Herro Jr., 55, of Corpus Christi, died on Thursday, May 25, 2006.
Mr. Herro was born on Jan. 18, 1951. He was formerly of Papalote, where he was active in the Skidmore-Tynan School District, including service on the school board. He also submitted bi-weekly commentaries, the Papalote Particulars, to the Bee-Picayune while he was a resident of Papalote.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janis; his parents, Juanita “Betty” Herro Basham and William “Bill” Herro.
He is survived by two daughters, Amber Austin and Tiffany (Josh) Mikulec; three brothers, Garth (Josie) Herro, Ray (Janet) Herro, and Larry (Leannette) Herro; one sister, Sherry (Don) Beard; two grandchildren, Braydon and Kaylee Mikulec; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
A wake was held at Jezebelles at the Art Center on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements were by Maxwell P. Dunne Crematory, Corpus Christi.

Mr. Hutchins
Lynn B. “Hutch” Hutchins, 55, of Beeville, died on Thursday, May 25, 2006.
Mr. Hutchins was born on July 11, 1950, in Corpus Christi to Marjorie and Jimmie Leonard Hutchins. He married Linda M. Romano on Dec. 4, 1983, in Medford, Mass. Mr. Hutchins served in the U.S. Army and was retired from the  Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Hutchins of Beeville; one daughter, Lyndsey Hutchins of Beeville; one son, Bryan Hutchins of Corpus Christi; his mother, Marjorie (Herman)  Jones of Beeville; one sister, Alyce (Wayne) Olson of Marietta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews in Massachusetts and  Texas.
Visitation was held on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home officiated by the Rev. Mark Spence. Special music was “Amazing Grace,” “Proud to be an American,” “He Walks with Me,” “There are Angels Among Us” and “Because He Lives.” Burial followed at Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Mark Watson, Carl Peterson, Jerry Ballard, Richard Crites, John M. Amthor and Ernesto Silvas.

Mr. Perez
Fidel “Pablo” Gaitan Perez, 69, of Sinton, died on Friday, May 26, 2006, at his residence.
He was born in Taft and had lived in Sinton for 42 years. He was employed by Fish Oil Well Servicing in Beeville.
He is survived by one son, Adan Perez of San Antonio; five daughters, Adelaida Perez, Alicia Perez Doria and Adela Perez, all of Beeville, Sandra (Abel) Cano of Corpus Christi and Valerie Lopez of Sinton; three brothers, Domingo Perez of Taft, Jose Perez of Sinton and Augustine Perez of Littlefield; five sisters, Estella Alamager and Elida Orozco, both of Levelland, Alica Ramos of Aransas Pass, Simona Aguirre of Woodsboro and Anastacia Soto of St. Paul; numerous half brothers and sisters; and 14 grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home chapel. No other services will be held.

Mrs. Salazar
Josephine Monsevais Salazar, 82, of Beeville, died on Sunday, May 28, 2006.
She was born on Aug. 27, 1923, in Goliad to Maria Gia and Juan Monsevais. She married Sabas Salazar, Sr. in 1950 in Beeville. She was a Christian.
Mrs. Salazar was preceded in death by her husband; and three sisters, Fidela Meza, Oralia Gonzales and Constancia Dominguez.
She is survived by two daughters, Diana Salazar and Elizabeth Ibarra and husband Ernest Sr., all of Beeville; two sons, Danny Salazar and Angie Martin of Victoria, and Sabas Salazar of Yoakum; 10 grandchildren, Sheena Salazar, Barbara Salazar, Areanna Longoria, Laura Chapa, Felicidad Chapa, Ernest Ibarra Jr., Jack Salazar, Danny Salazar Jr., John Salazar and Jovan Salazar; and five great-grandchildren, Blade Sabas Salazar, Felliane Isis Josephine Estrada, Valente Garza Jr., Laura “Shukie” Garza and Isai Chapa.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 8 to 11 a.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Special music will be “Un Dia La Vez.” Burial will follow at Cementerio Evangelico in Beeville.
Pallbearers will be Danny Salazar Sr., Danny Salazar Jr., Ernest Ibarra Jr., Joe Richard Estrada, Joey Rodriguez and Valente Garza. Honorary pallbearers will be Blade Sabas Salazar, Felliane Isis Josephine Estrada and Deffy Garcia.

Mrs. Saldiva
Senaida “Sene” Gonzales Saldiva, 65, of George West, died on Monday, May 29, 2006.
She was born on Dec. 23, 1940, in Live Oak County to Dominga and Ernesto Gonzales. She married Pedro Saldiva in George West on April 16, 1961. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandfather, Tomas Balderas; grandmother, Bartola Balderas; and one granddaughter, Maggie Guerrero.
Mrs. Saldiva is survived by her husband; her mother; one daughter, Sandra Luera and husband Ruben of George West; two sons, Carlos Saldiva and wife Teresa of George West, and Lee Roy Saldiva and wife Cherokee of Beeville; 10 grandchildren, Peter Luera, Xavier Luera, Nelda Murray, Carminina Luera, Jeremiah and Jonah Guerrero, Karla Saldiva, Cheyenne Saldiva, Dakota Saldiva and Lee Roy Saldiva Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Baby Peter Luera, Mark Anthony Morales, Gavin Luera and Malcolm and Vander Urriate; four sisters, Carmen Casas of Beeville, Juanita Casas of Houston, Rosalinda Vasquez of Vanderbilt and Norma Banda of Victoria; three brothers, Ernesto Gonzales Jr., Juan Gonzales and Ricardo Gonzales, all of George West; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in George West. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday at St. George Catholic Church, also in George West. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, also at the church, at 2 p.m. with Father Joseph Olikkara officiating. Interment will follow at George West Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Adam Garza, Arturo Banda Jr., Juan Gonzales Jr., Nick Martinez Jr., Richard Lee Gonzales, Andrew Casas and Juan Casas III.
