Mrs. Lasiter
Debbie Elizabeth Davenport Lasiter was born August 6th, 1956, to John and Elizabeth “Betty” Beasley Davenport in Goliad,  Texas. Debbie was a granddaughter of John R. and Lillian Beasley of Beeville,  Texas and Frank and Hallis Davenport of Runge,  Texas. When Debbie was two years old, her family began to ranch in Ciudad Victoria, Central Mexico, where Debbie learned to sing in Spanish. Her family then moved to Two Rivers Ranch in southeast Arkansas where Debbie grew to adulthood and established a family.
She has two sons, Phillip Caleb Abernathy of Dallas,  Texas and Richard “Ric” Oscar Abernathy of Texarkana, Arkansas, whom she adored and who brought her tremendous joy. She was married to Richard Scott Lasiter, reared in Beeville,  Texas, with whom she shared 11 wonderful years. She died in her sleep from heart failure on September 9th, at home in Harlingen,  Texas, with her loving husband Scott nearby.
She brought light, life and color to everyone around her, especially to her mother and father and her sisters, Hallis Diane Davenport Wilder, Daphne Lorraine Davenport Ramser and Lillian Dee Davenport and her nieces, Marlow, Tara, Hallie, and nephews, Brandon, John, Hunter, Will, Simon, Ian and Brody, Aunt Sissy and Uncle Charlie Orsinger, Aunt Martha Kowalik and Aunt Scottie Ferguson and her cousins with whom she shared many good times. She was an artist, a delight and friend to all children and animals, a great companion to anyone lucky enough to be near her, and a deeply spiritual and wise woman. She had a rare knowledge and connection to nature, rivers, bays, woods and stone through which she sought and found the comfort of the loving infinite.
She is dearly loved and will be remembered and missed by her family and friends. We thank God for the days we had with her.
